Although I live in Westbank, their Burgundy location is my go to place. I really like the ambiance of this restaurant, which was a former bank branch. One can make reservations ahead of time, which is convenient. I like many things on the menu. frequently, we order the French bread bites for all. Their egg dishes, benedicts and omelets are delicious. read more

i've eaten at countless Ruby Slipper locations and they never miss a beat! The food is absolutely perfection. If you want breakfast or brunch, Ruby slippers is the spot! And this location in particular on burgundy Street has the best staff of all of them. I loved our host so much! What a treat! read more

Ruby is a great little corner breakfast joint serving a delicious spin on New Orleans classics in breakfast form. The menu has classics like shrimp and grits but it also dishes out some great, fresh takes on the classics. I had the Chicken St Charles eggs beni and it was wonderful. Chicken was crispy and perfectly cooked, the biscuit was clearly house made, the pork tasso cream sauce (whatever that is) was eye opening and the egg on top was perhaps the best poached egg I have ever meet in my life. This place is a must stop for breakfast when you are in town. read more

Ruby Slipper Marigny - I got all 3 of the items on special. All were really good. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

This place was amazing let me say. This particular location used to be a bank. It was the last bank that Bonnie and Clyde robbed. Our hostess Jack aka Cracker Jack was an amazing host. He told us all these cool facts such as the Bonnie and Clyde info. He was told us what to watch that great, and told us how to jazz up our meal.... He gave us some options of what to do next after we eat. He was such a great time. When we come back to New Orleans, we have to come see cracker jack read more

This is a great brunch spot. They like to fill your glass of champagne high! The food is super delicious, I had hot chicken and French toast bites. OMG mouth watering good. The only sort of thing I didn't love is the ceilings are really tall, so if there are a lot of people, it can get loud. But is that terrible, no. The ambiance is great, and there are super fun summer type decorations everywhere. This is just outside the French Quarter in the Marigny but within walking distance. read more

Never been to this location in the Marigny before, and it was a very good experience! Cool location with a great vibe! Food was very good and the server was friendly, personable and very helpful. Will definitely visit this location again soon! read more

Was recommended this place by a local and considering there were multiple locations and one around the corner from our hotel, we had to check it out. I got the eggs benedict, and it was tasty, but not the best I've ever had. Coffee was decent, but nothing something I would go out of my way to drink. Ambiance was your typical brunch vibe which I enjoyed. We sat at the bar and got to do a lot of people watching from there. Great service, provided laughter, insight on the menu, quickish refills, quick turnaround on a overcooked poached egg. read more

I am a sucker for eggs benedict so of course that's what I got. However, I have to say they were just okay. Kind of mid, really, but I do respect the fact that they have so many different kinds to choose from and you can mix and match when is something I wish more places would do. We started out with some drinks and my boyfriends amaretto coffee was divine. The show stealer is without a doubt the french toast bites. I don't even like french toast normally but these were so crispy and flavorful and I still dream about the praline sauce they come with. Our server Taranesha was so good to us and didn't let us feel neglected at all despite how busy the place was when we were there. To give anyone visiting a heads up, you do want to put your name on a waiting list through the website and don't forget to check in with the host when you get there. read more

Street parking, outside dining and a great staff. Everything and everyone was PERFECT. It's been awhile since I have given any establishment that type of love. But the Ruby Slipper Cafe was everything we needed and more! Cute and quaint. Small and cozy. What more can you ask for and it was only steps away from our Airbnb in the Marigny neighborhood. There was so many items that we wanted to try. We are actually considering returning in the morning for breakfast. Our server was Herman, lively and friendly and made me feel like a regular. A great place to eat, relax and feel like you are a regular (loved and appreciated)! read more

Pretty good place to grab a 10am breakfast in the middle of the week. More locals come here so there isn't the grifter vulture hovering vibe that you'll see in the noise infested French Quarter area. Service is polite, friendly and dependable. I had the shrimp grits and it was nearly perfect until I realized it didn't come with an egg. Would have been perfect with an over easy egg on top of it. Was still pretty good.. I also had their signature Bloody Mary. On a hot humid summer day here, it hit the spot. Interior is outdated orange but still quaint. I'd come here again with no worries. read more

Ruby Slipper Marigny - Shrimp Grits 4/5 almost perfect - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

The restaurant is so charming on the inside with a real New Orleans vibe. The staff is very attentive and were transparent with issues with staffing in the kitchen on the day of our visit. The wait was long, but it was so worth it. The Trifecta has eggs cochon, chicken St. Charles and Bayou shrimp, a good way to sampl each. The St. Charles was my favorite of the three. The portions are huge and very filling with the eggs cooked perfectly. read more

We were seated immediately at Ruby Slipper, which was a great start to our visit. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. Once seated, our order was taken, but we were informed they were out of several items. There was no tequila available for margaritas, which was disappointing, and the food took over an hour to come out. My son ordered the Costa Rican Breakfast, but they were out of multiple key components: the fried plantains, beans, rice, and avocado. I ordered a breakfast dish as well, and my eggs came out completely liquid. To their credit, they did fix the issue by offering freshly cracked eggs, which I appreciated. However, the dish was supposed to come with a biscuit, and those weren't ready either. Our server, Jack, genuinely tried his best to make alternative recommendations and help the situation, but there was only so much he could do given the circumstances. The food we actually received tasted good, but the long wait, missing items, and overall lack of preparedness made the experience frustrating. Good food, but unfortunately very poor service this time around. read more

Ruby Slipper Marigny - BLT with scrambled egg added - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

A very enjoyable brunch. Service was super friendly and attentive. They even gave us a quick run down of the history of the location. Apparently Bonnie and Clyde robbed this former bank! The atmosphere was casual and inviting. The bloody Mary was a good way to start the meal. The trio of eggs Benedict on top of their biscuits was very enjoyable. The highlights were the shrimp Benedict and their homemade biscuits. Delicious. The bananas foster French toast were also good and provide a nice sweet contrast. Recommended! read more

It's a cute brunch place in a good location. However, the wait time was much longer than what online said and what the host said. We waited for about an hour when we were quoted 15 minutes. Then we waited about 40 minutes for our food as well and only one person in our groups food was good. They were also out of most everything and brought out a plate with substitutes for some things and didn't let us know they were out of it. For the price we paid (over $100) for breakfast, the intense wait times, and them giving us to go (plastic) silverware at the table, I would not recommend going here. read more

First meal here in New Orleans and it was delicious. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting. White chocolate pudding pancakes reminded me of a cinnamon role and were sweet and fluffy. Comes with syrup and bacon. The eggs cochon were recommended by our server and it was BOMB. Biscuit underneath, pulled pork, and poached eggs. Spinach was a nice touch for some greens. Service was so friendly, nice vibes, and welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be back. read more

Bright, fun atmosphere. Immediately upon waking in I felt a happiness from the decor and the welcoming. Our waitress, I think her name was Michelle, was very friendly. The food was AMAZING. My shrimp and grits were fresh and flavorful. The Benedict sandwiches were delicious and all of the sweets were great. Of course, we had to have beignets while in town and these were wonderful. As much as we tried to finish it all, we ended up with leftovers. We had some pancakes, some beignets and a biscuits. Even though we had a day of walking in the heat ahead of us we took them to go. They were still delicious the next day!! That tells you something. The drinks were tasty, too! The Bloody Mary was especially unique because it had a a distinct bacon infusion flavor. Very tasty! I'm glad we gave it a go and I recommend it for sure. read more

I wish I had pictures, but this place is so delicious! I have had their Chantilly pancakes, which were incredible! Their bananas, foster French toast, which is next level. Their beignets, which are good. And I've also had their vegetarian and shrimp omelettes which were also very good. Their biscuits are to die for, some of the best biscuits I've ever had. I made reservations for 6 people ahead of time. I showed up at the reserved time. The waiter walked to the little iPad or computer by the entrance of the restaurant and asked "how many?". I told him we had a reservation. He asked me "Is everybody here?". I stated," we have 4 people...." He cut me off. Didn't let me finish my statement. His Attitude was over the top. He has no clue what I was going to say. My husband had to even walk up into the convo when the waiter started to talk to me as if I was 5. Only then did the waiter simmer his attitude down. He even added onto it by telling my children and I "you have to go outside. You cannot wait inside until your entire party is here". My entire party was there by the time he said that statement. My family did not stay and eat here. His attitude sucked. And for giggles.... Over half the restaurant was empty. We didn't even need a reservation. read more
