At first, I wasn't truly impressed by the bartender, it took him a long time just to acknowledge us & he had a bit of a bland personality. I was a little worried but like normal I dove in cause they say the proof is in the pudding. Started off with some super friendly & energetic customer service from Teri. Definitely brings out the flavor and attitude of New Orleans. Very friendly and hospitable. She really impressed us with some super amazing customer service. We tried a couple of drinks and we all had different meals and everybody left with a full belly and super satisfied. Definitely worth trying this hot spot. We tried two breakfast places and this was one was my favorite! Patricia was nothing short of amazing and her recommendations were spot on! It seems to get kind of busy but you can go online and add yourself to the waitlist. There was a bit of a wait on Saturday morning as it was St. Patrick's day weekend. Everything we ordered was superb and They have several locations in throughout the city. While it appears to be a chain, I have zero complaints. My preference is to try and find local establishments. Made an impromptu stop here before heading to the airport at the end of a trip and wish we had found it sooner, I would have honestly ate there multiple times during my trip, it was that good. Love the staff, love the space, don't like the sticky tables or biscuits which were too dense and too large. Decent coffee, good food, and they have a full bar if getting a Bloody Mary in the morning is important which it very well might be in New Orleans. A bit on the expensive side. There are better, albeit quieter/no full bar choices in the neighborhood for a good breakfast. This is a good place for a larger and louder group though. Just don't order the biscuits. read more

Such a delicious menu they had to offer! Including the daily special. My husband and I ordered two different items so we could try both! Fried chicken bennys and the bacon praline pancakes were sooo good! We came with a party of 8, called ahead, got seated quickly, and served just as fast! We came in for brunch. The outside was inviting and so was the staff inside. Literally every single person who worked there was in a good mood and super welcoming to us. The mimosas were tasty and we started off with the seasonal beignets. When I tell you these beignets are one of the best dishes I've ever eaten, I mean it!! They came with a berry compote and homemade whipped cream and cheesecake dip. Absolutely heavenly. For our meals I got the shrimp Benedict and my husband got the southern breakfast platter. My husband loved his meal - mine was just okay. The shrimp weren't really hitting and neither was the fried green tomato. On the other hand my husband said it may have been his favorite fried green tomato that he's ever had. So it may just have been me! Regardless I would come back and try out a different breakfast any time, although I may veer towards sweet rather than savory next time. I'm a little torn on this one. I loved the small yet big enough feel of the restaurant. I loved the "busy-ness" of happy eaters at most every table. On one hand all three of our menu items were great. We had The Costa Rican, Blueberry Lemon Stuffed French Toast, and Sweet Heat Chicken & French Toast Bites. On the other hand our waiter just wasn't the greatest. His soft skills could use some polishing and he had zero interest in checking on our table once our food arrived at the hands of someone else. Our food came out really fast which was much appreciated after such a long wait. I was a bit disappointed that the corned beef was on the wall menu but I was told that it was not available. My last morning in New Orleans I wanted a good old fashioned brunch. We entered the yelp queue while we were still in our pajamas in bed around 8. We got ready and walked there, arriving around 9:45. We checked in and the next table (if you're okay with outside) was ours! I got the two bennies-one with pork and one with a fried green tomato. Both were amazing! The pork was filling as hell. I shared with my husband, who got peaches and cream pancakes with candied bacon. This behemoth came with 5 pancakes the size of a skillet. My friends and I dined here twice during our 4 day stay in NOLA. The food is absolutely delicious, but what really sets this place apart is the entire staff who works here. want to give a very special shout out to the man with dreads who buses the tables. I apologize if the description of his role is not accurate but that is what I observed him doing. Other than that, he made sure to verbally welcome each and every guest and thanked them for their time. On our second visit here, he remembered us and called us "fam". I made a comment to him about how his friendliness was admirable and he immediately told us that mental illness is a real thing and you never know what people are going through so that's what he keeps in mind whenever a customer walks through their doors. This comment has stuck with me and I think about it all the time when I'm at work or just going for a walk, running errands, etc. I couldn't find the right words to respond to him in that moment so I just want to acknowledge him in this space. Saturday morning found this place for brunch. With a slow start, the wait at 10 was around an hour. They do have online checkin so you can put your name down once you're on the way which helps. The wait is tough but it's totally worth it. We actually walked to the park nearby while we were waiting too. The staff here were so extremely nice, everyone in Nola are, but especially here! I started off with a Bloody Mary and it was a life saver! It has so heat to it but I loved it and ended getting one to go before we left. I also got the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites for my meal and it was so unique and really tasty. The French toast bites must be fried because they are very crispy. The chicken had perfect batter and was extremely tender. The sweet heat was very sweet forward and went really well with all the flavors in the dish. I wish there were a few more berries on the plate. I also had a taste of my friends crab cakes and they were the best crab cakes I've ever tasted, and the green tomatoes that came with them. We were Al so happy with our experience! Just make sure you make a reservation or checkin ahead to avoid the waits! read more
