Our experience at the Ruby Slipper Cafe was underwhelming. I joined the online waitlist, and we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. We waited for about 15 minutes for our waitress to take our drink orders. Because of the wait, we placed our order for food as well. My husband had the candied bacon as an appetizer. Don't do it. Food and staff are the worst. Cold food, and my Eggs Benedict had a full half egg SHELL laying right on top. I pointed it out to our very filthy waiter who laughed about it and offered no remedy. We did have a decent wait, which is expected on a weekend during the summer but nothing abnormal. Once seated we were quickly greeted by Julian, so friendly, who promptly brought out our drinks and asked about apps. We ordered French toast bites and candied bacon ... WOW. Both were incredible, we could have ordered another round! We started with a mocktail, bacon Bloody Mary and an adult iced coffee. All were exceptional! We placed our brunch order and enjoyed our drinks, then ordered a second round, again so good (and strong). The food was a tad slower than expected for our small order but came out fresh and hot.. definitely made to order Vs premade dishes! Everything was absolutely amazing. The breakfast tacos, build your own duo eggs Benedict, pancakes, and more. We opted to all order something different and had a bite of each. Not a single thing was less than amazing, and we didn't have but crumbs left at the end of our meal. As locals, it is hard to find a consistent, decently priced, and delicious meal. We will definitely be returning.. just wish they stayed opened a tad longer! They have a full bar, I could do French toast bites and a cocktail later than 2pm some days Haha! Went to Ruby Slipper for the first time today. Had a Bloody Mary which was good , and The southern breakfast. It was ok, just like most other breakfast in town. The biscuits were very good . My husband had the biscuits snd gravy. He did not care for the gravy but said the biscuits were good. Some of the the Specialties looked very good. We will try again. read more

Pretty much the worst meal we have had in this area in the past year. They advertised "cocktails" but I ordered a simple one, but they did not have the ingredients to make it. We then tried Chicken and French Toast and it was fried chicken, that was fried yesterday, smothered in syrup and served cold-luke warm. The French toast was in 1" chunks and were swimming in syrup. This is the most distasteful meal I have ever eaten. We should have know better since the meal was served within minutes after our order was placed. How could it be fresh???
