Absolutely amazing! We have tried the Ruby Slipper in Orange Beach. So when we saw there was one in Destin, we knew it would be added to the list for the birthday weekend. Our waitress was Amber. She was so enthusiastic, and friendly. We loved her, and wanted to take her with us. Food and drinks were incredible. Too bad you can't taste the pictures, because it was that good. Didn't even get our food. The place was super unorganized and we waited for a fairly long time and had NO service. People got in before us while we waited. The place was crazy and it was super loud. I expected a nice breakfast but too bad the place couldn't meet that. read more

The first time my family came here it was good food and service, but now, a month later the wait staff have chips on their shoulders and treat guests like they are a bother. Simple things like checking on coffee are non existent. Nobody comes by and checks in. They just walk by super fast making sure not to make eye contact. We had to flag down another waitress in order to get service. When our appetizer comes out the waitress barks BEIGNETS and slams them down on the table. When placing an order, my wife changed her mind just before the waitress left, asking to add something to the order, and the waitress responded that she had already hit "enter" and walked off quickly. I get it. Difficult time of year to wait tables. If you cannot bring yourself to smile then don't wait tables. Management- from a local who eats out often, talk to your staff. I have no interest in visiting again if your staff is going to be short and ugly with customers. Also, word of advice, if your food is going to take 45 min+ to come out, consider providing free wifi access the way most restaurants do in this area because the cell service is impossible in this area. read more

Arrived at 10:30 on a weekday, No wait They do have online checkin as well Got Candied Bacon and coffee as we waited for entree to come. And we waited about 30mins for our food. Our waitress was sweet and very attentive. Her name was Mary! Once our food arrived we enjoyed the choices. Candied bacon was good, just alittle cold. Not a lot of maple candy coating. Still tasty with about 8-10 strips Hubby got 2eggs, 2 biscuits, 2 sausage Pattie's, and a fried green tomatoe. He said he's was good, eggs cooked well. Normal breakfast for him I got the stuffed French toast. Mine was a lot of cinnamon and puréed apples inside toast. Would have been better with more cream cheese. It over took the cream cheese, not sweet kinda bitter. It was served with more maple bacon. This time the bacon was hot and delicious. RSC is accommodating. They served our party of 20 and the food is yummy. The coffee is hot and full bodied and they have non dairy alternatives as well. The staff is friendly and efficient. Tina really shines, she is sweet, she pays attention to detail, and such a rarity today, she acts like she WANTS to be at work to serve her customer. I suggest the one tomato, two tomato Bennie. Yum! This was my first and my husband's second time eating at Ruby Slipper in Destin. Our waitress Shelby was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. I had the Migas prepared skinny on a bed of spinach rather than on tortilla chips. It was very tasty and fresh. My husband had the biscuits and gravy as well as a spicy Bloody Mary. I am a foodie. 46 years in the Hotel and Food and Beverage business before retiring four years ago. This is the best breakfast/brunch place in Destin. I will have to go at least ten more times in the next few months just to try all of the items that are absolutely creative and different. Straight out of New Orleans, this owner/operation has nailed it. Great drink specials, friendly staff that isn't role playing. The bartender, from Kalamazoo Michigan was awesome. The first thing she did after saying good morning was hi my name is and then what is your name. Then she used our names throughout every point of service contact. The food came out hot ingredients were fresh and the only word to describe it was awesome. They have a huge choice of Benedict's . They have a huge choice of omelettes. They have beignets and French toast bites and many other delightful breakfast items for those that have a sweet tooth. I only have two classifications for restaurants: they are I will never go back or I can't wait to go back. This restaurant I can't wait to go back over and over and over again. I didn't take any pictures to upload because the website has a large portion of pictures that you can look at. 5 star review because of Nicole the bartender!!!! When we arrived this morning I was told they would be a 30 minute wait so my husband and I went to the bar to get a beverage. As soon as we sat down Nicole greeted us with a great smile asked us our names and then proceeded to help us by taking our drink , order making conversation all the time using our names. I observed she spoke to every customer that was at the very busy bar by their first names which was so impressive. After waiting 30 minutes for a table And then being told by the hostess that it would be another 20 to 30 minutes we decided to just order at the bar and Nicole again happily took our order and checked on us constantly. We chose this establishment for my birthday and it was so perfect that I'm lost for words . When you can make a cinnamon pancake with cream cheese , a gulf shrimp omelette, a savory biscuit and drinks to perfection is unreal. Let's not forget , our waitress Catie was so down to earth , funny and sweet made it the cherry on top. Checked in us frequently, made sure that we enjoyed everything and was just on top of everything . I promise that this is the real deal and it's more than worth giving it a try.
