A group of us came here over Labor Day weekend. It was crowded and there was a wait of about 35 minutes. Once we were seated, our waitress was attentive, but did miss a couple of requests. The food was very good. I had a build your own omelet, which was great. It was a ham, sausage, and spinach omelet. They were out of mushrooms, so I had to add a second meat. It turned out tasting great! The tater tots were delicious too. My friends had the mug as, shrimp and grits, and the breakfast tacos. They were all pleased with their meals. The mimosa flight was also tasty. I would definitely recommend The Ruby Slipper, both in Destin and in New Orleans. read more

As good as the one in NOLA. Was on our way out of town. needed breakfast. originally wanted breakfast tacos until yelp led me here. i had the mimosa flight with triple pig omelet. Hubs had the honey hot chicken biscuit. i loved that the portion of the omelet was not huge since it came with grits and a biscuit. The cane butter was amazing on both the grits and biscuit. The parking lot was trailer friendly as we were towing a 28' camper. read more

A solid brunch option in the area. Everything was quite tasty! The beignets were not as fluffy as I'd hoped, and the fried chicken in my chicken and French toast dish was a bit over fried. However, I'd still be up for going back to try other items in the future. read more

Great food, great service, perfectly cooked place for brunch. My only gripe is that you need to go inside and check in if you join the Yelp Waitlist. We joined it and sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes and finally walked in to them saying "well you're supposed to go inside first" but then ended up being able to seat us rather quickly anyways! First time in Destin and first time to this location, although we had enjoyed the Ruby Slipper in New Orleans. Started with the chicory coffee latte, then the Florentine omelette with one white chocolate bread pudding, pancake. The pancake is super sweet and could only do the one, cutting it with some fresh strawberries. Hubby had the three little pigs omelette with one cinnamon swirl pancake. Everything was delicious. We did have to get a box to take some with us, and we would definitely return and recommend. Service was good-- attentive, friendly, and quick. Prices were good - value for price paid and affordable. The service this morning was the best we've ever had. The waitress, Amber B, was personable, friendly, and truly interested in giving us a great experience. The food runner and bartenders that stopped at the table were awesome as well. A friend ordered avocado to add to her shrimp and grits and the manager, John, realized they were out as they were plating our food, so he ran next door to get one from Publix rather than serving it without. We came on a recommendation from a friend who could not stop bragging about this place and they did not disappoint. Every staff member we encountered were friendly, kind, helpful and professional. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken and brought almost immediately. Our server was very nice and easy to work with. After placing our order the food was at the table within minutes and everything we ordered was delicious, hot, and freshly prepared. It's a little bit out towards the edge of town tucked into a retail area and could be hard to miss. We arrived a little after 7:30 a.m. and there were just a handful of patrons there. It was clean and a nice quiet and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend giving them a try. We will be back the next time we are in Destin. read more

Tried out this place for the 1st time this week & was very disappointed in the food (SERVICE WAS GREAT). Food was bland, cold, either undercooked or overcooked. Fried green tomato was the thickness of a piece of cardboard, absolutely horrible. Drinks were ok, even though a mimosa should be made with cold champagne... As a local, I hate to say I won't be back nor recommend this place. Jillian was A GREAT SERVER though! Definitely was not her fault with the food & she was taken care of! read more
