I'm so glad we joined the waitlist prior to arriving at the restaurant because the wait was long. This location is a smaller location, but they offer indoor and bar seating, as well as a couple tables outside on the sidewalk. When our name was finally called, we were seated at a table outside. It took a little while for our server to come out, but when she did she went over the specials with us and we ordered our drinks. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, but she brought out a glass of cranberry juice. She didn't come back out right away so I had to go to the bar to let them know. When she finally came back out with the correct drink, we ordered food. We got the shrimp & grits and the crawfish Benedict (they were out of grit cakes so I got it on a biscuit) and beef brisket Benedict. When the food was brought out the guy spilled some of the shrimp & grits gravy on my friend. The food was delicious; but the service, not so much. read more

We loved this place the last time we were in NO (different location) and the Ruby Sunshine restaurant in Charlotte, NC. We arrived when they opened and were one of the first tables served. Most everything and a good flavor, but my husband's sunny side up eggs were not fully cooked on the top. The shrimp in my Bayou shrimp had a funny taste to them like they were not cooked fresh. I would hesitate to go back here. I would maybe order something else next time. The crawfish and grits cakes were excellent. Definitely on the lighter side if you had two of them. It would leave room for bacon or French toast. read more

Hands down one of the best meals from our trip to New Orleans in early Feb. 2023. The line for brunch on a Saturday was extremely long and we did wait for over an hour. We overheard another customer say they checked in online ahead so they could just come in closer to their time - we didn't know that was an option and definitely would recommend looking into that. Once we got inside, the restaurant was busy but still comfortable. We got French toast bites as a starter, which were incredible. Then eggs Benedict and pancakes with Chantilly cream and berries. Both meals we've been dreaming about ever since! The service was polite, but clear everyone was super busy and moving quickly. Prices were fair and it's within walking distance from much of the French Quarter, so there's plenty to explore while you're waiting for your turn. read more

Genaro was a fantastic server, he gave us great recommendations, was super friendly, and overall made our experience at Ruby slipper a good one. My favorite plate was the peacemaker, I chose the shrimp bayou and the Charles st chicken Bennies. The peacemaker is a nice option since you get to mix and match your eggs Benedict. The shrimp and grits was also a nice pick, very flavorful and delicious. We came for breakfast on a Wednesday and it was packed, we waited around half an hour to 45 minutes for our table. The only thing that I didn't like was the hostess attitude, very nonchalant, and uninterested in doing her job. Besides that Genaro G was amazing and made our experience at Ruby slipper one of the best ones here in New Orleans. 10/10 would recommend! read more

If visiting NOLA, be sure to check out Ruby Slipper. Food is great and portions are generous. Pro Tip: Use the check-in ahead feature on Yelp. It allows you to put your name on the list while you're in route. Faves: French Toast Bites: Order as a starter. Brioche bites fried in cinnamon and sugar. The cream cheese frosting and praline sauce is a 10 out of 10 all by itself! Gulf Shrimp Omelet: Yummy omelet stuffed with shrimp and cheddar cheese. 2 of my favorite things :) Big Easy Mimosa: Sparkling wine + OJ + pomegranate juice = the best concoction ever Creamy Spiced Latte: Super delish. Espresso with milk, cream and vanilla. There's also nutmeg but it's subtle. Perfect! read more

RUBY SLIPPER NEVER MISSES!! We were in town last weekend and we knew where we wanted to go. IDK..what they do to their food but it's finger licking good‼ Get on the waitlist, it will save you time. I put us on the waitlist at 8:30 and there was a estimated time of 1hr 30 minutes. We arrived to check in, had a 10-15 minute window before we were to be seated BUT the wait time had increased for others to a little over 2hrs. Get on the waitlist early!! Drinks: breakfast margarita, mimosa flight, and coffee (some the best I've ever had) Appetizers: French toast bites 6/10. A little greasy and the praline sauce was different. Fried green tomatoes 10/10 Entrees: build your own omelette, crawfish and grits, grilled fish St. Peter, southern breakfast. If you have never had a grit cake, I suggest you try it. It will change your life. Ruby Slipper NEVER go out of business. I'll be back!! read more

Love the brunch and the staff here! Cute restaurant and love the decor of the establishment located in the French Quarter on Decatur St. Although quite busy, the host was able to seat my cousin and I fairly quick during this pandemic. Could be quite longer for more than 3-4 people. We sat down, and scanned our menus and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. As my beverage, I ordered the Creamy Vanilla Spice Latte. I'd say it was very delicious and the flavors blended so well together - nutmeg, espresso and the creams. As for our brunch meals, my cousin ordered the Stuffed French Toast (bacon included) with a side of one Pancake and Grits. I had the Trifecta - one of each of Eggs Cochon, Chicken St. Charles and Bayou Shrimp Benedicts. All amazing of course! But my absolutely favorite would be the Chicken St. Charles as it reminds me of a Chicken Biscuit but with a Poached Egg on top, If you don't know what you want and just want to try a little of every Benedict, this Trifecta dish is the choice! They also have the option for two Benedicts as well (The Peacemaker), if three is too much. Overall, our experiences were wonderful and again, the staff is amazing here. Definitely recommend to visit this place again! read more

I'm traveling for work and rely heavily on reviews to find food that won't make me sick or disappointed. I'd heard good reviews from a few trusted sources and decided to give their breakfast a try. I had their Southern Breakfast with scrambled eggs (with goat cheese), chicken sausage, homemade biscuit (with cane butter and strawberry preserves) and buttery stone ground grits and a fried green tomato slice All I could say was, wow. My portions were sizeable, hot, well-seasoned and delicious. I've been firmly spoiled for breakfast now. The ambiance is on the loud side for me, which isn't necessarily a bad thing in the morning. It definitely woke me up and I appreciate hearing a lot of happy, well-fed people around me. Our waitress did her best to keep up with her tables and kept my tea glass full. Though a larger location of this popular brunch spot was down the block from our hotel, we opted to walk into the French Quarter where the line wasn't as outrageous. Our server Timothy brought our hot teas quickly and gave us advice on what to order. Babygirl is a fan of eggs Benedict so she chose the specialty Chicken St. Charles which includes some fried chicken breast and buttermilk biscuits in place of more traditional Benedict components. I opted to try the Grilled Fish St. Peter which features grit cake, spinach and tomatoes. The food had us exclaiming why we lagged on visiting. My daughter disapproves of daytime drinking so I didn't try any of the cocktails. We will definitely return when we're back in town. read more

I was so excited to try this place with my mom on our New Orleans trip but they did not get it right on our visited. I asked for a salmon omelette with no onions and it came out twice with it . My mom thought for the long wait the food was not worth the time we spent trying to get in the restaurant. However I will say the hostess where nice and gave my mom a seat so she didn't have to wait outside and our waitress was really nice. Although I couldn't get my food the watermelon margarita was tasted and I don't do mix drinks so that was cool. I would not recommend because of the food but the service was great. read more

An absolute not-to-miss experience. We went twice and had the same exact meal because it was so delicious. My daughter and I keep kosher so it was a bit tricky to find places to eat in New Orleans, so we were so thrilled that we were in walking distance from this treasure. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes (granted we went off hours during a week day). You can't miss the french toast bites, the salmon avocado toast or the "one tomato, two tomato" - a Benedict with fried green tomatoes. The staff were friendly, but a bit rushed. The only truly disappointing meal we had in our four day trip to New Orleans was breakfast bay the French Quarter outpost of this chain restaurant. On a Monday morning the service was slow and unfriendly, the food mediocre at best, and the forced hilarity of the decor made this theme park food experience a living hell . Biscuits and gravy took twenty five minutes to arrive. Biscuits were cold and hard as rocks. Fried green tomato on the side was an overly breaded, tasteless mass. Even the bacon strips were only fair. My friend's order of beignets took almost forty minutes. They were hot, but again hard - rocks of dough; nothing like the tasty sugary pillows we enjoyed twice at Cafe DuMonde. Coffee? Meh. Not the French Truck Coffee we enjoyed on Canal Street - just a washed out version. Won't be coming back to this chain. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone ! read more

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to provide a review of Ruby Slipper Cafe. I came to a conference in New Orleans. I promised myself that I wouldn't eat in the hotel where the conference was taking place. Instead, I would go out for all of my meals. With that goal in mind, I found myself in Ruby Slipper Cafe each morning. I sat at the counter, which is my favorite spot in most restaurants...especially if I'm dining alone. My meal of choice was simple: Two eggs, a biscuit (with butter and honey), a fried green tomato, grits, and bacon. What could go wrong....? NOTHING! Oh...did I mention that the service/staff were delightful? Something about being called, "Baby" by the server is so endearing. Everywhere else in America, that would result in a complaint. In New Orleans, it's simply the spoken language and way of being. Southern hospitality! Looking forward to making my way back. read more

Yes, listen to everyone else and make sure you come here. This was my second time in NOLA and the first time I did not get around to coming to Ruby Slipper. In fact, I almost didn't make it here during my second visit. However, I decided to get up early the day I was heading out and make my way here for breakfast. I got the shrimp benny and boy did not disappoint. The flavors were on point, and the portion was huge. I couldn't finish it, but best believe I brought it right with me on the plane back to NY. I also got a peach bellini which was not only huge, but also very delicious. I can't believe I didn't try Ruby Slipper out sooner. A worker from another restaurant in the same area recommended this place. Since I enjoyed that restaurant so much, I was excited to try this place. Make sure you arrive early, because there was definitely a waiting list. We went on a Sunday, at noon. I'd say we waited for at least 30 minutes. Food: I ordered the Costa Rican Breakfast and my boyfriend ordered Banana Pecan Pancakes. He didn't like the bacon. He said it was way too hard and crispy for him. He loves pecans but unfortunately he said the pancakes were too thick. But he did say he liked that they give you the whole syrup bottle lol the Costa Rican breakfast barely had any chorizo meat. There was about 1.5-2 spoonful of it (see photos) I was really disappointed. It tasted great but there was more rice and beans and even that didn't have much flavor to it. I was never asked how I wanted my Eggs. But I guess that could be my fault. I ordered off the board menu on the wall instead of using the QR scan menu to read the description. But usually the server would ask if eggs were part of the meal. The avocado however was fresh and a generous amount of it. Our server was really sweet and I liked that she called me baby lol Maybe next time, we will order something else. read more

Joel is professional and kind; He's full of personality and definitely knows his stuff!! I highly recommend having a reservation. We were seated immediately due to having a reservation. The vibe of the location is the best. The colors and setting will brighten up your day. We'll thought out set up. Our server Aurry was amazing. She provided great service and awesome recommendations from drinks, apps and eats! Her personality was very pleasant and sweet. She was attentive but not overwhelming at all. Both Aurry and Joel contributed to the overall experience making it great. The FOOD was a HIT. Everything ordered was presented beautifully and delicious!!! The executive chef is definitely cooking very very well!!! We loved the Blue Crab Ragoon App as well as the Crab Cakes. There was nothing left on the plates. For entrées we had Banana Foster Pain Perdu, Side of Duck Bacon, Hashbrown, 100% Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot!!! Last but definitely not least are the Cocktails which were very good. Try the Cold Brew Martini if you like iced coffee type drinks and also try the Strawberry Lemon drop for a sweet treat. Both taste great and have a nice amount of spirits in them. This is a must try in NOLA. Will definitely return!!

The chicken sandwich itself was really good and honestly ended up being the star of my meal. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and the sandwich was filling enough that I was perfectly fine eating it on its own. Unfortunately, my mac & cheese was cold in the middle, so I sent it back and swapped it for the hash browns. The hash browns weren't really my favorite either, so at that point I just accepted that the chicken sandwich and I were going to ride this thing out together. My husband, on the other hand, is a TRUE breakfast person, so this was much more his territory. He ordered a steak breakfast bowl topped with eggs. He enjoyed it overall, but felt like it could've used a little more seasoning. He ended up asking for some aioli on the side, which helped give it the extra flavor he was looking for. Now the chicken and waffles? THAT was the fun part. The presentation was adorable, with the chicken served alongside the waffle cone-style presentation, and naturally I ended up eating most of his chicken. The chicken was really good, and even though I'm not a huge waffle person, I tried some of the waffle too and enjoyed what I had. It was definitely the more memorable dish at the table. I also really liked the atmosphere. It's cute, bright, and feels made for brunch, so aesthetically they understood the assignment. Overall, there were some execution issues with my sides, especially being served mac & cheese that was cold in the center, but the chicken dishes were good enough that I still enjoyed the experience. My husband enjoyed his breakfast overall, and I'd come back and give them another shot. Next time, though, I'm sticking with the chicken because clearly that's where they had me.

I live the old 80's/90's theme and decor. Such a great throwback. We ordered 2 drip coffees (you get them in a to-go cups but you can get free refills), and the Grand Slam McMuffin. Both were great. Wish the sandwiches were bigger for the price you pay. $11.50 for a breakfast sandwich is pretty steep, but it's the price you pay considering everything is homemade. We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! When it comes to breakfast and brunch spots in New Orleans, The Ruby Slipper on 204 Decatur is a true standout. As someone who has had their fair share of eggs benedicts, I can confidently say that this charming establishment delivers a dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary. One of the highlights at The Ruby Slipper is their exceptional eggs benedicts. In particular, the Trifecta featuring three different variations of this classic dish left me in awe. Each benedict surpassed the last in terms of flavor and execution. The pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the perfect hollandaise sauce that graced each of the eggs. Its velvety texture and rich flavor elevated every bite to new heights of indulgence. But let's talk about the seafood. The Gulf shrimp benedict showcased the freshest, most succulent shrimp I have ever tasted. Their natural sweetness shone through, perfectly complementing the other components of the dish. And the fried chicken benedict? Well, the crispy chicken atop the benedict was a revelation. Its golden exterior gave way to juicy and tender meat, adding a delightful twist to this breakfast classic. What truly sets The Ruby Slipper apart is their unparalleled execution and ability to weave a captivating culinary tale through their dishes. The attention to detail is evident in every bite. The sauce accompanying the benedicts was flawlessly emulsified, striking the perfect balance of richness and tanginess. And let's not forget about the poached eggs--the yolks were a work of art, boasting an impeccable "jammy" consistency that added an extra layer of decadence. During my visit, my wife had the fried chicken and French toast dish. This creation showcased the restaurant's creativity and culinary prowess. The execution was flawless, and the French toast had a unique twist reminiscent of panzanella or French toast croutons. It was a delightful departure from the ordinary, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. The Ruby Slipper not only excels in culinary innovation but also provides impeccable service. The staff's attention to detail and genuine passion for their craft is evident from the moment you step through the door. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in the vibrant city of New Orleans, a visit to The Ruby Slipper is an absolute must. This gem of a restaurant seamlessly combines creativity, flawless execution, and exceptional service. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Ruby Slipper is sure to leave an indelible mark on your culinary journey. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. read more

Title: A Culinary Gem with a Dash of Quirk: Ruby Slipper Cafe Review Nestled in the heart of New Orleans , Louisiana the Ruby Slipper Cafe offers a tantalizing fusion of flavors and a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Southern cuisine. During a recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their renowned biscuits and gravy, a dish that left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The biscuits and gravy at Ruby Slipper Cafe are a triumph of culinary artistry. The biscuits, baked to perfection, boasted a delicate balance of flakiness and tenderness. Paired with a rich and flavorful gravy that was a symphony of savory notes, this dish provided a hearty and comforting culinary encounter. The marriage of textures and taste was a true testament to the kitchen's dedication to quality and creativity. While the cuisine was undeniably a highlight, the service left something to be desired. Our waiter, regrettably, fell short of delivering the kind of attentive and polished service one might expect from an establishment of this caliber. However, amidst this minor setback, a shining star emerged in the form of Brian, a dishwasher with an infectious sense of humor. His presence injected a delightful touch of levity into the dining experience, turning what could have been a lackluster encounter into an unforgettable one. Brian's wit and charm resonated with patrons and provided a refreshing and unexpected layer of entertainment. In summary, the Ruby Slipper Cafe exudes an undeniable charm with its delectable dishes and quirky personalities. While the waiter's service left room for improvement, the true gem of the visit was the culinary artistry that graced our table. Furthermore, the unexpected joy brought forth by dishwasher Brian added an unexpected and memorable twist to our dining adventure. For those seeking a blend of Southern comfort food and a touch of lighthearted amusement, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a destination well worth exploring. read more

As a devoted fan of the Ruby family, my expectations were sky-high when I stepped into the Ruby Slipper Cafe in New Orleans after my delightful experiences at their sister restaurant, Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, SC. I'm thrilled to report that the Ruby Slipper not only met but exceeded those expectations, firmly establishing itself as a #ThatBrunchLife essential. From the moment I walked in, the warmth of Southern hospitality enveloped me. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and an eagerness to make my dining experience memorable. The atmosphere was a cozy embrace, with a vibrant yet comforting decor that paid homage to the soul of New Orleans. The menu was a love letter to Southern cuisine with an innovative twist. Each dish I tried was a masterpiece, but the standout was their signature Eggs Cochon - a decadent masterpiece of slow-cooked apple-braised pork debris over a biscuit, topped with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise. It was a symphony of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate. Comparing it to Ruby Sunrise in Charleston, where the shrimp and grits reign supreme, the Ruby Slipper holds its own with distinctive flair and an unmistakable New Orleans charm. It's clear that both establishments share a commitment to quality, flavor, and an unforgettable dining experience. In every aspect, from the attentive service to the mouthwatering cuisine, the Ruby Slipper Cafe is a beacon of #ThatBrunchLife and Southern hospitality. Whether you're a local or just passing through, missing out on this gem would be a culinary crime. The Ruby Slipper isn't just a restaurant; it's a celebration of the spirit of the South, and I can't wait to return. read more

While visiting the Big Easy during Mardi Gras, I was in the mood for brunch. After visiting the Ruby Slipper a couple of times, knew it was time to go back. The Decatur location was closest to me & glad I went. There was a line & I was greeted at the host stand by Stanley. Stanley gladly took my name but I asked if there happen to be a spot at the bar for just one. He turned around & told me to wait a couple of minutes as he cleared me a spot. Sat me down quick with a smile. Was immediately acknowledged by one of the bartenders saying they would be right with me. Kelli & Jaylynn were working that day. Started my day with an Irish coffee & it truly hit the spot. It did take a moment for me to decide, but didn't feel rushed. Yes, Kelli & Jaylynn checked on me, but only to see if I was ready & encouraged me to take my time. After a couple of moment, I chose the southern breakfast. It was the fried green tomato that sold me. Yes, it was simple, but extremely satisfying. And, that fried green tomato, was better than expected. The service at The Ruby Slipper was outstanding. Our waiter, a terrific young gentleman, was attentive, professional, and stayed on his toes to make sure we had everything we needed. The decor was true to the restaurant's name--fun, vibrant, and welcoming. Other patrons were also very friendly, adding to the warm atmosphere. As for the food, I really enjoyed the Chicken Benedict--it was flavorful and satisfying. However, the Shrimp Benedict was a bit of a letdown, as it only came with three small shrimp, which felt underwhelming. My friend ordered the Salmon Omelette with grits and a biscuit, and they said it was absolutely delicious. Here's how we rated the dishes: Chicken Biscuit: 9/10 Shrimp Biscuit: 6/10 Salmon Omelette Plate: 9/10 Overall, while the service and ambiance were great, the menu didn't quite match my personal preferences--mainly because I don't eat pork, and I found the non-pork options somewhat limited. That said, I believe The Ruby Slipper has a lot of potential for those who enjoy its Southern-style offerings. read more

I recently dined at Ruby Slipper and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. Although the food preparation took a while, the wait was well worth it as the food was absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to the entrees, every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. I would highly recommend the food here. While the drinks were average, they were advertised as award-winning and amazing, which was a bit disappointing. However, this was a minor setback in an otherwise great dining experience. I was impressed with how easy it was to make a reservation and while the waitlist said it would be an hour, I only had to wait 30 minutes before being seated. The staff was nice and attentive, making sure my dining experience was enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was also great - it had a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that was perfect for a relaxing meal. Overall, I would definitely go back to Ruby Slipper and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in the area. Five stars! read more

Ruby Slipper on Decatur Street is a fantastic spot for a hearty, Southern-inspired breakfast or brunch. The warm, lively atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience, and the menu is full of indulgent options that showcase New Orleans flair. I couldn't resist ordering the Biscuits and Gravy, and they were incredible. The biscuits were perfectly fluffy, and the gravy was rich, creamy, and full of flavor--just the way it should be. It's true comfort food at its best. The candied bacon was a standout as well. Sweet, smoky, and perfectly crisp, it was the perfect balance of flavors and a delicious addition to the meal. It's a must-try item if you're stopping by. The service was friendly and efficient, despite the bustling crowd, and the vibrant energy of the Decatur Street location added to the experience. I came to New Orleans for a quick trip and was craving a good breakfast. After seeing glowing reviews on Yelp, TikTok, and hearing personal recommendations, I thought Ruby Slipper would be a great choice. However, I have to say, I was left a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the diverse dining scene in Houston, but Ruby Slipper felt extremely basic and average. We ordered several things off the menu, and honestly, nothing really stood out. There was nothing particularly unique or memorable about any of the dishes we tried. It was all fine, but not impressive by any means. If you're in the mood for a quick, no-frills breakfast, Ruby Slipper could work, but there are definitely better and more unique breakfast spots around New Orleans that I'd recommend exploring. The food here just didn't offer anything special to make it stand out in a city known for its incredible food scene. read more

Ruby Slipper is a cute and cozy brunch spot with a Creole fusion twist, and overall, it was a great experience! I started with a creamy vanilla latte topped with nutmeg and whipped cream, which was delicious--just a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, but still really well made. For my main dish, I had the French toast with fried chicken, strawberries, and maple syrup. The flavors worked beautifully together, but it was definitely a heavy dish, and I wish there had been something like whipped cream or a light topping to balance it out. We also tried the catfish with grits, which was another solid choice. Overall, Ruby Slipper is a great spot for brunch, but just know that the dishes lean toward the rich and indulgent side. I had an amazing experience today at Ruby Slippers with my friends. The staff was so accommodating and wonderful. I loved the hospitality, and the kindness they showed our large group of 15. Our waitress, Yudith, was lovely and made great recommendations. The drinks were delicious and my favorite was the lavender mimosa from my flight. Each of the mimosas in its own glory was full of flavor, and I left feeling much lighter and happy. The food itself was wonderful. My favorite was the shrimp and grits with the biscuit. I stole some bites from a friend. The grits were made with so much love had a great flavor and texture. I was impressed. The waffles and hot chicken was my order and my second favor. The sweet strawberries with the French toast was dancing in my mouth. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

The Ruby Slipper Cafe is a breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of downtown. They have amazing food and fast service, so you can't go wrong with this place! They serve everything from omelets to waffles, and they're all made fresh right in front of you. The coffee is great as well--they use beans from local roasters, which makes it even more special. The food is very filling, so I recommend ordering one of their sandwiches or salads if you're looking for something lighter. But if you want something that will fill up your entire stomach, then this is definitely the place for you! The only downside? If you're coming here during peak hours (between 8am and 10am), expect to wait for at least 15 minutes before being seated. It's worth it though--the food is worth it! read more

The food here was absolutely excellent! The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The restaurant was on the noisier side, though still manageable to talk without shouting. My only complaint was that the tables felt sticky and not very well cleaned, which was a little disappointing. That said, the food truly stood out -- especially the Eggs Benedict. If you're like me and can't decide which one to order, they actually let you try three different kinds in a sampler, and it was fantastic. Overall, great spot for delicious brunch food, just wish the cleanliness matched the quality of the kitchen. read more

First time being here and me and my wife loved the food. Loved the fact that you can join the waitlist before you get there and save a place in line. We look the fact that they have these duo options They have a list of like 8 eggs benedict and 6 specialty pancakes so they have options you can do 2 different types and try multiple options in one meal. Our waitress Jackie took great care of us! The Eggs benedict with the chicken and pork tasso sauce was The cinnamon roll pancake was really good too. read more

Well, I came back AGAIN & brought a couple of friends this time!! Instead of sitting at the bar to chat up with the wonderful staff, we had the pleasure of having Misty. She was an absolute delight & it was BUSY. We enjoyed our food & drinks. Again, I had the Irish Coffee & my friends had the milk punch. Got to taste it & it was tasty. Thanks again Misty for giving another enjoyable experience. Hope to see you again when I come back. Sorry, no pics. We were hungry & y'all hit the spot!!! read more

Ruby slipper was EXACTLY what I needed on Sunday. My wife and I were greeted completely hung over by the host (Bailey?) who was super cool and said we wouldn't wait to long and directed us to the end of the bar to order a drink while we waited. Jennifer took the order quick and had us back to life. We were stoked after sitting at the bar with Jennifer and Airy! Super attentive and excellent service. Definitely check out the seasonal menu. Crawfish cake starter is a must if you like seafood. read more

From the moment we walked up, we were greeted with that true Southern hospitality -- the host (who somehow picked up on our Seattle vibe right away) made us feel right at home. Maria and her team were absolutely wonderful, treating us like old friends. And the food? Lord have mercy, it was so good! Every bite was pure comfort and flavor. My advice? Don't even think twice -- just go! I'll be back first thing tomorrow morning for round two. read more

The Sweet and Hot Entree is a delicious combination of crispy French toast bites and juicy chicken coated in a sweet and spicy honey glaze. However, the French toast bites could have been less crispy. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she made our dining experience a memorable one. Overall, I would definitely recommend Ruby Slipper to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying brunch. read more

The stories about the line are true: it was mid morning on a Sunday, and there was definitely a line, but we put in for a table for three and were seated within 20 minutes. First up was a bloody mary, the canonical brunch beverage, and it was a winner. Dressed with some nice veggies in handled jar, it was delicious and refreshing. As for the food, I was torn between a couple of the benedicts, so I ended up combining and getting crab cake and andouille sausage, both on the same croissant. It was delicious if a bit much; I ended up taking half to go. The crab cake was substantial in size, with a good crab to cake ratio, and the sauce which was touted to be excellent, certainly was. This was a very tasty breakfast. The decor was very cute and bright, and our server had a great smile and proper NOLA accent, tending to all of our needs with aplomb. It was a great experience, and one I'd do again for sure.
