Prime rib was soooo good! Served with fresh grated horseradish. I ate half before I remembered to take a picture.

Not gonna lie, I almost didn't try this place due to bad reviews. SO GLAD we came!! The ambiance is fun, the service fast and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious!! Best meal I've had in ages!

The service is amazing! 10/10 every single person was extremely welcoming and attentive. The restaurant was clean. We absolutely loved the decor. The food unfortunately was horrible. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye medium rare and it was so OVER COOKED AND DRY the same for my friend that ordered the same thing. The BEST thing on the menu was the sweet potato. We also ordered calamari it was chewy. The " garlic " mash potatoes had ZERO garlic. Save your $ and cook at home.

We came here to celebrate my husband's belated birthday with a good steak (he loves the Porterhouse). We've been here a few times and usually have a great experience, but today was just okay. We arrived around 4:00 and there was hardly anyone there. We were seated almost immediately and then quickly met our server, Mario. He was really great and made us laugh a lot. We ordered a ton of coconut shrimp...like seriously a ton. We had it for an appetizer, it was my entree, and my husband got it as a side. We love coconut shrimp, but we definitely took it a little too far :) I don't think I can touch another coconut shrimp for a while now. My husband's porterhouse was supposed to be medium rare, but it seemed to be cooked differently throughout. The first corner he cut was well done, the second, medium well. There might have been a piece that was medium, but none of it was medium rare. He also pulled out some shards of bone out of his steak. Those could have been very dangerous if he hadn't seen them. My husband had a candied jacketed yam as one of his sides. Most of it was good, but the inside of the skin was black and burnt. Definitely not edible. I ran out of water and asked for a refill. Mario left for quite a while (I think he forgot about me) and when he came back, he asked the table next to us if they needed anything. Someone wanted a refill, so he immediately got her a refill. After doing so, he turned around and said "water" and then grabbed me a refill. I think it was an honest mistake...we're all human. I was feeling a little forgotten though :( I loved my coconut shrimp and I loved the broccoli. If we come here again, I'm going to ask for two servings of broccoli instead of another side. Their broccoli is cooked perfectly every single time! We left feeling kind of meh about out dining experience today. It will probably be a while before we return.

My wife and I had dinner, and I accidentally drank from a chipped glass with a missing piece. The server was too rushed to check, and when we tried to talk to a manager, she deflected back to the waitress without offering an apology. My wife spoke to someone else who said, "Well, it happens." What was supposed to be a great night is now making me sick thinking about it. Thanks, Ruby River!

The ambiance is incredible. Every single inch is decorated and designed to look stunning. It isn't super dark so I was able to read the menu without using my phone as a flash flight. Dinner was quick and service was attentive even though they were busy. The food was just ok. The tomato my server recommended was underwhelming and so was the steak. The steak was a little too salty. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

Smothered chicken and jacketed yam - candied style

This is one of our favorite places!! First of all the log cabin decor is awesome! To me this is what a restaurant would look like up in the mountains! My wife and I usually get the smothered chicken, jacketed yams - candied style, and a side salad. These are all so good!! Especially the jacketed yams. I've never had them anywhere this good. Also the prices are so reasonable! This is where I take friends, family, and work dinners!

Recently we had a not so great experience at a chain steak house and this more than made up for it . Worth the drive from Slc for sure . Bobbi was our server and she is the best we've had . Kept up with fresh bread and a carafe of ice tea. She was super personable and fun . The bread to start off was very fresh , soft and with the butter- chefs kiss. 3 of us got Salads and I chose the French onion soup . The broth was delicious and even though it was packed with flavor -surprisingly light. Salads were hearty and veggie forward . 3 of us got steak plates but have to mention how huge the county fried steak was -with an option of country gravy or brown gravy . That definitely will keep you full . The steaks were juicy-cooked, to perfection. My snow crab kept me occupied for most of my meal but I rarely get the option to add crab to a meal so why not. It was absolutely fantastic with the butter . We all left with doggy bags . I also had made a reservation a week before we knew we were going to visit as from photos I was not able to tell how big it was. It actually is quite huge . There are covered wagons that seat up to 10 , a private banquet area and table tops available. The decor is fun and you can actually walk around to see more of it . Since we had a reservation we didn't have to wait but there is a bar in the front incase you wish to grab a quick drink while waiting for your table . If you're a steak lover and have an appetite, definitely add Prairie Schooner to your list . I can definitely see it being a popular spot for Mothers /Fathers day and celebrations . Perhaps even take on their 20 oz Porterhouse and pair it with one of their cast iron desserts to celebrate. Until next time , Thank you for the great dining experience.!

We currently live in Amsterdam NY and I was thinking of doing something special for my wife's 60th birthday. I thought of this place and looked it up and called to make sure they were still open. I was excited to find out they were and I made reservations, booked plane tickets to Ogden Utah and enjoyed a couple of great date nights with my wife. The food is very good, the schooner sampler is a great appetizer with a nice variety of food. We ended up trying the prime rib, fish and chips and the Galveston combo on our two nights there. All of the food was very good, the staff was great and the ambiance was simply amazing. We love the west and the history and romance of it and so the place was perfect on so many levels. I would highly recommend this place but if western ambiance is not your thing the atmosphere will be lost on you. We absolutely loved the private covered wagons and the campfires with all the wild life. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU FOR GREAT MEMORIES AND GOOD FOOD! Butch and Tammy from NY

This experience is for our Corvette Club of Utah's annual Awards Dinner, so keep that in mind…read more I think it is a solid 4 star restaurant. It is definitely a challenge to serve 80 patrons at once. The food and service quality has to be on its game. i think that Timbermine Steakhouse did a good job. We had a banquet room to ourselves, which most restaurants do not have. We were in round tables that seated 10. Included with our dinner was a nicely flavored fruit punch, salad with Ranch dressing, dinner roll, choice of ribeye steak or halibut or teriyaki chicken, big baked potato that was delicious, and a strawberry cheesecake. All were good. We were not asked for doneness for our steaks, they all came out medium well done, but that wasn't a problem since the steaks were still tender and not dried out. For point of reference, I usually have my steak medium rare. A good steak that was sizeable, a half an inch thick that covered half of the plate. I didn't even finish mine. I think that was a good deal for $27 a person, which included the tip for the servers. The service was spot on. There were enough staff assigned to our dinner and they were on top of things. Water and punch filled and refilled, plates cleared, meal served on time and efficiently, friendly and pleasant. Our room was spacious enough for our large group. There were none of the idiosyncrasies that makes Timbermine, Timbermine. Walking in and out of the restaurant, I did notice the mine cars, the bathtub lined with Pez dispensers, things on the wall, etc. that gives it it's quirky theme atmosphere. Our event started at 4:30p and when I left at 6:30 the parking lot, which is huge, was jammed full as well as the regular restaurant space. So this place is definitely popular on Saturday nights! Good job, Timbermine, I think you are a good choice for large groups. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

We both ordered filet minion with sides of Brussel sprouts and roasted mushrooms. The steaks were barely warm and almost cold. In fact, both steaks looked like they were cooked ahead of time and set out to rest for some time. What the heck! Both the Brussel sprouts and mushroom side dishes were utterly cold and old looking as well. I told the waiter to replace the side dishes and he came back with replacements and they were cold as well. I don't get it. What happened to this place? It used to be high quality food. I will never go back, and I told many of my friends about my experience the following morning and they said it happened to them as well in the last couple months and they stopped going. Goodbye Longhorn. Keep this up and you won't be in business very long. I wish I could get my $95 back because I am definitely not happy. I will not recommend this place any more. Update: The new Kitchen manager called me and we had a detailed discussion. They gave me a gift card to compensate which I thought was very nice. The new manager is currently reviewing all aspects in the kitchen which he says will improve promptly.
