I liked the vibe of the restaurant overall and noticed they played a lot of post modern jukebox music Bruschetta: 4/5 we ordered 2 of these to split between 6 people. Food was inconsistent based on our dinner tonite. Seafood stew (I believe they call it Cioppino?) was excellent. SO GOOD. Chicken florentine was not great...chicken was likely over-cooked because it was TOUGH. Mashed potatoes were supposed to be "creamy roasted garlic" mashed potatoes...but they lacked flavor. Bread basket with oil and balsamic was ok...bread was like pizza crust. Salads were good. Service was excellent (Ben!). Really like the interior of the restaurant. In addition to my Cioppino I tried to order a side serving of pasta, so I could have a full entree AND try their pasta. They refused. If I wanted pasta I had to order a full entree of the pasta in addition to my other entree...disappointing. We won't be back to try their pasta. I came with a large work group and this was the perfect lunch spot. There were so many options on their lunch menu, I ended up with a rigatoni with a side of fries. The sauce had meat bites and was perfect. I also loved how they started with bread as well! Definitely a great spot for lunch. I went with friends ordered the chicken risotto. It was supposed to be creamy. It was thick and all I could taste was GARLIC. It felt like I was biting into a clove of roasted garlic. I love garlic but this was overwhelming to the point that I couldn't eat it. The menu didn't even mention that this dish had garlic. I will never go back. The waiter was also quite overbearing. We left with mixed feelings about Stella's. The atmosphere is romantic and comfortable and the service was excellent! We got the spinach dip appetizer and carrot soup which were fantastic! The complimentary bread was good but not the best. My husband got seafood pasta with Alfredo sauce instead of red sauce and it was very good. Their white sangria looked nice but reminded me of melted slurpee. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was so bad. The mashed potatoes' texture was off and they had no flavor. The chicken was dry and the lemon sauce was inedible. The server was seriously so great and happily replaced it with the chicken parmigiana which was a big improvement but not worth going back for. So this is listed as a very good Italian restaurant. So took the wife out for her birthday. What a disappointment. Service was good and our server showed up promptly with water. We ordered a bottle of wine. And he took our order for appetizers snd the mains. Appetizers showed up after we were served bread long wait! The mains showed up I ordered the cioppino and my wife ordered the shrimp and crab ravioli. My dish was very small served in a pot with no place to put the shells. No flavor but very salty. My wife's dish had been put thru a food processor and mixed with cream cheese. At least that is how she described it. Finally the wi e showed up and the server asked if we still wanted it. Delightful pasta, which was exactly what I was craving! It heated up nicely the next day as well - the portions are huge so plan for leftovers! The waitress was not particularly friendly and seems rather impatient with us throughout the night. Regardless, we had a nice time and really enjoyed the food and space. Made another visit to Stella's as we keep hearing great things. Our visit was better than our last and the food was quite good. I really cheer for local businesses and hope we can get to "great" here instead of just really good, I want it to be a destination spot for us. The atmosphere is beautiful in this restored building but it may be time to re-cover the chairs. We had a couple that were worn through and we had to switch out to find some with padding. We both started with the Cream of Artichoke soup. It was fantastic and I could eat an entire bowl of it. We also had the calamari appetizer and it was tasty, but slim for the price. I opted for one of the specials, a Pappardelle Al Capesante & Pepperane. Baby scallops, capers, mixed roasted peppers in a white wine and parm sauce. It was very good. The peppers were amazing and the scallops were a bit overcooked but the dish was excellent. My partner had the Tagliatelle al Fileto. It was good, but the wine and gorgonzola overpowered the pasta. I'm here to review Stella's on 25th in Ogden. Without a doubt this is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Fresh fire oven bread with olive oil and balsamic. We had their bruschetta as an app, my mouth is still watering. Dinner entrees were Risotto Al Melone E Prosciutto and their daily special pasta- a slightly spicy spaghetti with shrimp and tuna. The portions are extremely large, so tasty, and all fresh. Apparently lunch portions are smaller, the dinner risotto could feed 2-3 as a meal. read more

Food and service were excellent. White variety menu is exceptional which made it hard to choose from - so many interesting choices. They are always busy so reservations are highly recommended/ encouraged. Food came out hot and presentation was well set. I choose the shrimp carbonara. Tasty cream sauce with huge shrimp (tails taken off- thank you). Pasta dishes are large so come hungry. Wife chose Tagliatelle bolognese. I cringe whenever this is someone's pick for a group outing. The service is OK. But everything is pretentious, overpriced and the food is NOT actually great. "Utah bland" is their specialty, if you're into that. I have to remember not to order the pizza... soggy bottoms aren't my fav. And unfortunately, the risotto has been crunchy at least 60% of the time. The one thing I DO like here is the bread, appears to be made in house, and is delicious. NOT AT ALL DISABLED FRIENDLY OR ACCESSIBLE!!! They DO have an elevator, that (unfortunately) the employees highly discourage you from using. There's an awkward step up that is not properly marked, and is definitely a hazard. And absolutely do not bring any visually impaired or low vision people to this restaurant. The bathrooms are problematic as well. Yes, I provided this feedback to the manager multiple times over the last four years. On this last visit, nothing had changed or improved at all regarding accessibility, nor the training of employees to not act put out when they have a disabled customer. read more

Not sure what was going on tonight at Stella's I brought some family friend from out of town told them how great this place was. Service: took 10 minutes before we even got someone to take drink orders. Drinks came out slow . Food: we ordered 6 meals soup, bread, and salad. All good. Chicken piccata got made wrong server caught this before handing me the meal. Fixed it. After getting the meal I was missing the side of mash potatoes. Sever brings them out to me. The sauce was absolutely horrible I'm a huge fan of piccata but this was super water and tasted way too strong. The chicken was super chewy. The other meals did not taste good either. I do not know what happened tonight but the food was disgusting all around. Service wasn't that great either. Honestly won't be returning super upset with the food quality. read more

My fiance and I visit Stellas for very special occasions, as it makes our visits far and few in between but very special. We went to celebrate his birthday and once again had a wonderful time. We were warmly welcomed by our waiter Philip. He was personable, helpful and prompt. He was servicing many tables, and did a phenomenal job taking care of everyone. The best service we've experienced here! Our food was excellent. Every time we've gone we make a point to try something new, and each time our meals are incredible. Fresh and full of flavor! Our second trip to this very enjoyable restaurant. We started off with a hot spinach, artichoke, cheese spread with garlic crostini. They also served fresh baked bread which turned out well since my wife didn't care for the hard crust and chose to have the spread on the fresh bread. She ordered the shrimp carbonara and I had a breaded chicken breast served on a fresh tomato's risotto with zucchini. We both enjoyed the meals and the evening very much. My chicken was slightly overcooked but not so much that I didn't enjoy it. We didn't have room for dessert but the offerings were tempting. I can't recommend this place enough. Not sure what has happened to this place but I'm not sure my family and I will be returning. Most of the food was good. We split one meal between two people, the Chicken Marsala. The server said they'd put it on two plates and bring it out that way. Super nice but she failed to mention to do that, they charge $4. Plus each meal says it comes with a soup or salad - they charged for the side salad on one meal. The Sangria was terrible. Our appetizer came out super fast but it took 30 minutes or more for our dinner to come out. So overall, food was ok, service was mediocre. Be sure to review your receipt before you pay! read more

A little bit of the Midwest on the West Coast Stella's on 25th is the cutest Italian restaurant in downtown Ogden. They have an array of food to choose from, but what piqued my interest was their ravioli. I tried 2/3 on the menu and both were REALLY good! The pasta was a little softer than Al dente, the filling was cooked/seasoned to perfection. Here are the two varieties that I tried: 1. Butternut Squash Ravioli - b. squash and ricotta stuffed ravioli served with sage butter cream sauce and topped with toasted almonds 2. Portobello Mushroom Ravioli - portobello & ricotta stuffed ravioli, served with a goat cheese cream sauce, fresh parsley, sauteéd wild mushrooms and topped with crispy pasta I love when a restaurant goes out of their way to use different methods to incorporate cheese into their dishes that are atypical. Both of these cheese sauces was out of this world in the best way. Not too cheesy flavor, creamy, and smooth. It was my first time having crispy pasta and it added a nice crunch. Being in the sauce, it did get soggy but because it's pasta, the texture blended in with the rest of the noodles. This is a neat place in downtown Ogden that is perfect for a fancy date or a family on which side of the building you sit on. Overall the service was really friendly. I liked that there were unlisted "chefs special features" when the waitress went over the menu. This definitely gives you something to look forward to next time you come back, especially if you like the cooking. We ended ordering two chefs special features, one was squid ink resoto topped with salmon and the other was some sort of pasta with roasted rabbit. The resoto was the better of the two dishes by far. After placing the order, there was bread that was brought out with olive oil and balsamic to dip into. We also were offered soup and salad with the price of our meal. I went for the tomato bisque, which was quite delicious, but unfortunately, the flavor of the soup surpassed the flavors of the rabbit covered pasta, which I why I didn't much enjoy that dish. However!!! The squid ink resoto was enough for both of us to share and definitely made up for it. We ended up finishing with a tiramisu. The sucker was dusted with waaaaay too much cocoa and powdered sugar. I had to dust some of it off to make sure and get back to the flavors of Tiramisu. Decided to try Stella's when the restaurant we first made reservations at had to cancel on us. We were able to make a reservation here a couple days ahead of the date and they were so kind and helpful. When we arrived, we were seated promptly. But instead of taking us to one of the regular tables we were lead to an elevator and taken downstairs to their beautiful "speakeasy" seating area. It felt like private dining since we were the only ones down there for a little while. Our server was awesome, and did a great job with food and drink recommendations. I vacillated about 3 or 4 stars. So much potential here. We experienced the old speakeasy downstairs that has a cool ambience with original door, old pics, etc. Food: Caprese was more a bowl of cherry tomatoes and a bit of mozzarella and lots of olives - tasty but different than expected vs more traditional caprese. I had the risotto with fish (special). Tasty but maybe a bit too much spinach. Would still order again. My wife had the bacon-wrapped filet. Ok but steak was a bit lacking in flavor. Entrees come with soup or salad. Big knock on the minestrone. Not only not good but it was served in a plastic bowl that you find by the hundreds in church kitchens or the like. Major fail on presentation on that. Profiteroles were talked up by manager and they were horrible. Completely dry and overcooked. They brought another round that was cooked correctly and were OK. Waiter didn't know daily specials and didn't apologize for the horrible profiteroles nor take it off the bill. Speaking of, I heard more convos between the staff that should have been "behind the door" - lots of shouting to each other. Just could be a lot more professional. It should be a 3-star but giving 4-star as I want this place to succeed and there IS the potential. We were craving some Italian and decided to stop here. This was our first time visiting and I'm glad we did. It was busy on a Friday night with some high school dances and other events happening. We had to wait about 40 minutes, but that is not too bad. For this location, waiting is OK because we could walk around 25th St. and look at some of the shops. They started off with some bread with oil and vinegar. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. It was so good. The balsamic vinegar tasted really high-quality and the oil was good with it too. My wife went with the chicken Parmesan and it was the better of the two meals. The chicken was huge and we ended up needing to take most of that home. I got the Bolognese and it was also pretty good. I liked the wide pasta noodles. It was pretty good, but I don't know if I would order it again. We definitely want to come back and try other dishes. I thought the prices were reasonable for what you get. read more

Great service and food! Had dinner here recently. We were able to get a reservation same day on the website. That's handy for Fri night! We were seated promptly upon arrival. We were told who our server was, but that he'd be a minute. I appreciated knowing that. Once he was on duty, he was attentive and friendly! The food was delicious! We got complimentary breadsticks with yummy oil and vinegar. We opted for the stuffed zucchini appetizer that was tasty and much bigger than expected. It could have been an entree, so we took half home. The Roquefort dressing on my salad was good, but I hate field greens. They are like eating a garden so this was the only thing I didn't like. Went here recently with some friends. We really liked it! Reservations were a little behind so we ended up waiting for a little bit before we were able to get a table. We tried a few different wines, the Josh Cabernet being a favorite for a Red wine & Gabbiano Pinot being our favorite white wine. We loved the bread they bring out! Unfortunately they do charge for more bread, something that wasn't a big deal but something to be aware of. My boyfriend loved the Caesar salad! Highly recommends this! He can't stop talking about it. Said it was the best he's had in a while & wants to go back solely for this salad. I ordered the minestrone soup & it was so sad looking. Mostly just broth with 1 piece of chicken. I'm not sure if it  was only like this because it was near the end of the night or if it's always just broth. I was shocked they served this to me & didn't just say they were out. The regular salads looked good too. We ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca. Chicken seemed a little bland, not a ton of flavoring & the potatoes on this dish were way too garlicy. Wasn't our favorite dish. We also ordered the Beef Stroganoff & this dish was delicious!!
