I am 48 years old and I have never treated like Ruby Nail Salon owner Ruby treaded me. She called me liar Day before Easter I went there with my 10 years old and I paid $130 for Kids mani-pedi ($45) and $80 for UV gel manicure (it's not a regular gel manicure, it's more expensive then regular gel and will last at least 4 weeks they told me) I was walk-in no reservation. Two days later on Monday one of my nail was broken I went there, her husband Peter was there they repaired my nail and I left. 3 days later on Thursday an other nail was broken, again Peter was there they fixed. And 12 days later on April 28 my two other nails were broken and I called, spoke to Peter he made reservation for next day to fixed. On Friday April 29, only Ruby was there, I was planing to tell her that I did my nail here on day before Easter and this is the 4th nail is broken not even 2 weeks and I couldn't even use my manicure couple of days straight. I couldn't even speak to her. Her face suddenly change when she hear my nail is broken she said how she will know that I made my nails over there. Maybe I went to different store and going there to fixed. I was shocked. I said Ruby I have my bank app shows that I was here and paid $130 to Ruby nail on 16th. She said to me I don't care about your phone what is it says I will check here my reservation book. I said I was walk in with my daughter. She looked at my nails and said to me these nails so thin. We don't make thin nails, we do thick nails. It's not from here. I said I don't t want anything from you or your store you are not a good business person and I left. I don't know if anybody had same experience with her. First of all she is overpriced. What is $45 for kids mani-pedi? Also they charge for my nails $80 it didn't even last 3 days straight and in 12 days 4 nails were broken. read more

Try a néw pl I've been coming here for over 3 years and other poor reviews are correct that there is zero loyalty or customer service for repeat customers. The prices have gone thru the roof and if you ask for any customization or a fix to something wrong, it's like your bothering them and it's your fault. This was my gel manicure after 3 coats of sheer that ruby herself globbed on with not a care that I wasn't happy. It speaks for itself. She said "if you want a more creamy color, next time choose a more creamy color". The place is spotless but the customer service is horrible - the words sorry or apology for inconvenience or we will make it right are not in Ruby's vocabulary. It's time to find a new place. Their color gel pedicure is 69$. You can get one for 37$ on Francis Lewis. Prices are ridiculous. What's more ridiculous is that people pay them. I made an appointment for a color gel pedicure and the receptionist the didn't even know the price. She quoted me $49. When I walked in, I sat down, picked out a color took off my socks. I was ready to begin the pedicure when she told me to reconfirm with the nail tech. When I asked the nail tech how much it would be for color gel pedicure, she said 69 because it is an additional $30 on top of the regular pedicure price. I said never mind and told her I will not be doing the pedicure today and I began putting on my shoes. The receptionist then came and asked what the issue was. I told her that $69 is too much and she's acted surprised by my response. She then asked if I wanted to come back for UV gel fill in. I said not thank you. If i am paying $16 for a manicure and your rushing through it and not cutting all my cuticles I am not going to tip you. The good thing is that they have always been consistent. Always clean and proper, they don't cut any corners. The paint job is pretty good too. After 11 hours of dreaming the water out of our basement I was left with some powdery substance on my feet and the rainwater had made my skin very itchy so I decided to go to the nail salon and just let them fix all the problems I was having. They did a great job a pedicure with a long lasting nail polish came out to $41 after tip. I recently just moved to the area and I have decided that this is going to be the new nail salon that I go to. This is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to and best part is, it's a couple of blocks from my house! They have a wide selection of colors that you can choose from but I tend to lean towards french and nude colors. Sometimes when I get my nails done, theres a lady who gives out free shoulder massages for about 1 or 2 mins as a complementary service.. I've gotten gel many times and they always last me for more than 3 weeks. Carena is very detailed and precise when it comes to doing nails. She takes a bit longer than others but that's okay because I know it's going to last a long time. I work with my hands a lot so its amazing how it doesn't chip. My girlfriend's and I were all due for a pedicure. We decided to come to rubys and they were very accommodating. They took all four of us at once. Great. I usually do my own manis as I'm quite the nail buff, but decided to do it here since I was doing a pedicure anyways. However, 4 days later and my nails are chipped. The Good: very clean, nice decor, plenty of workers, and decent color choices. The Bad: a bit pricy, $28 for mani/pedi. Came to $42 because I did French and added the callous remover. The girl who did my nails was very sweet and even complimented me on my nail art which I did myself. But, I had to remind her about the paraffin wax during my pedi and had to ask her to redo my French which was streaky and not even and missing in some spots. I'm sure she saw this and just decided not to say anything until I complained. The Ugly: Got nails done Sunday and today they are chipped. *IT'S POINTLESS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT* It's 2:30 as I sit in the salon and write this review.... as I'm still waiting for my 1:45 pedicure appointment. This is the third and final time this will happen as this is the last time I come back to this salon because of this reason. The first time this happened, I made the first appt of the day as I wanted to get it out of the way. 10am appt. for a mani and pedi. Got there at 10:00 and their chairs were all full. I was told all the clients were part of a wedding party and got there early... I ended up waiting 20 minutes. Second time it happened I waiting 30 minutes and was told that people walked in and "had" to be taken before me. I was apprehensive to one back again today but my mom doesn't like the other area salon so here we are again and here I wait again. As far as service, I have to say it's one of the cleanest salons I've ever been to and the men and women who work there do a great job. The manager just needs to manage they schedule better. If I make an appointment for a specific time, I don't expect to wait for an additional 15-45 minutes PAST that time. read more

This is my second time coming here and I thought I had finally found my nail spot but I was wrong. The guy I had, Alan, was some what rude to me. He clipped my cuticles pretty hard and I didn't say anything at first but when he clipped my thumb, I flinched and he had the nerve to say "what?" To me. Not politely ask "what happened" but "what" with attitude. I don't appreciate that. You hurt me and then you have the nerve to give me attitude about it? Then when I left, I noticed bubbles in 4 of my nails, 1 weird looking mark under the polish, and it looks like something got caught under the polish or something and he just left it. I got told by Ruby that my tip wasn't enough ($6 for mani and pedi- no design) and that the girls work hard etc.. For starters I would've given more if she didn't just tell me they preferred cash. (10% charge to you for card use.) 2)I don't appreciate being told what I'm "supposed" to be tipping. What also threw me off is that I consider myself a consistent common customer there and normally tip more if I have the cash or just put it all on card. 3) BE AWARE: I usually get the permanent gel tips. $70 but told "includes" the gel color. My friend that's also a usual customer here, decided to get the same. She didn't find a color in gel she liked so she chose to use regular color. When she asked Ruby is the cost of the gel polish now comes off the price, Ruby told her- No. ?! I usually justify paying as much for the good job done and take into consideration the gel color price buttt so there's no price adjustment even if you don't get it ? Walked in on a Monday afternoon at 5pm and there were maybe 2 other customers. From the outside you wouldn't think this place is as serene and gorgeous as it is on the inside. Black tiling on the floors, cream walls, beautiful chandelier, lots of drying stations and a large selction of nail polishes too. I was welcomed by the owner and let him know I was interested in a pedicure. I picked my color and was seated in their huge pedicure chairs that also have amazing massage capabilities. I was given a relaxing pedicure that started with a brand new set of tools (nail clip, file etc Yess!!). Also included was a hot stone leg/foot massage, parrafin wax and no cuts! Awesome!!! The nail technician did such a great job at buffing my heels without being too rough, and oooo that foot massage...it was more than needed. I was a huge fan of flawless until they moved locations a little over a year ago. I have been coming here for aprx 10 months and they have pleased me every time. Ruby the owner is a sweetheart always keeping an eye on her workers and assuring they do a good job. There pedicures are the BEST in the area hands down. My gel manicure usually last 2-3 weeks with no issues. Some ladies do french better then others. Stone massage with mani & pedi. Extremely clean! you can always find parking What they did to my friend our last visit was: we arrived 6:30 for pedi/mani ( i do gel she was doing a fill in) They took her for a pedicure and did my nails first. We then decided to do a spa pedicure. It was awesome as always. Super relaxing, great way to end the work week and start the weekend. We she was done about (7:30) they told her they wouldn't do her nails because they close at 8pm. That was appalling. Considering its a costumer service industry that is very rude and not professional. I get it they want to go home but so does the waiter at the restaurant when you walk in 30 mins to closing.
