    Globs of uneven sheer polish.
    Sue K.

Update: I found a local place that was sooo appreciative for my business. They did an amazing job for half the price of Ruby's. Try a néw pl I've been coming here for over 3 years and other poor reviews are correct that there is zero loyalty or customer service for repeat customers. The prices have gone thru the roof and if you ask for any customization or a fix to something wrong, it's like your bothering them and it's your fault. This was my gel manicure after 3 coats of sheer that ruby herself globbed on with not a care that I wasn't happy. It speaks for itself. She said "if you want a more creamy color, next time choose a more creamy color". The place is spotless but the customer service is horrible - the words sorry or apology for inconvenience or we will make it right are not in Ruby's vocabulary. It's time to find a new place. Does this look like a $40 gel manicure? I'll come back if I can get some kind of acknowledgement of how bad t

Their color gel pedicure is 69$. You can get one for 37$ on Francis Lewis. Prices are ridiculous. What's more ridiculous is that people pay them. I made an appointment for a color gel pedicure and the receptionist the didn't even know the price. She quoted me $49. When I walked in, I sat down, picked out a color took off my socks. I was ready to begin the pedicure when she told me to reconfirm with the nail tech. When I asked the nail tech how much it would be for color gel pedicure, she said 69 because it is an additional $30 on top of the regular pedicure price. I said never mind and told her I will not be doing the pedicure today and I began putting on my shoes. The receptionist then came and asked what the issue was. I told her that $69 is too much and she's acted surprised by my response. She then asked if I wanted to come back for UV gel fill in. I said not thank you. I then went to Francis Lewis and was able to get a UV gel fill-in with a design and a color gel pedicure for $102. Pedicure was 37 and UV gel fill in 50+15 for design.

I would recommend!!! Staff is super nice and welcoming. Very helpful with requests. The salon was very clean and they clean their tools. The owners were very talkative. Also parking right out front!

Polite. Efficient. Clean. Very professional! Ruby Everyday will be my go-to from now on. Probably the best nail salon I've come across in Whitestone. This place can get pretty busy so be sure to make an appointment!

I had a really cute manicure and pedicure, my only problem with the salons at the area is that because of the language not always you can have a nice talk with the technicians

Ruby Nails does an amazing manicure. The salon is very sanitary and efficient. It costs more than most salons in queens but I think it is worth the price.

This is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to and best part is, it's a couple of blocks from my house! They have a wide selection of colors that you can choose from but I tend to lean towards french and nude colors. Sometimes when I get my nails done, theres a lady who gives out free shoulder massages for about 1 or 2 mins as a complementary service.. I've gotten gel many times and they always last me for more than 3 weeks. Carena is very detailed and precise when it comes to doing nails. She takes a bit longer than others but that's okay because I know it's going to last a long time. I work with my hands a lot so its amazing how it doesn't chip. Lynn does an amazing job too!

Very pleased with our mani pedis. Kevin did my nails and he did an awesome job :) I bite my nails so they were a mess. He took his time cutting all the cuticles and making sure the polish went on smoothly. I love their interior and everything seems to be very clean. It is a bit pricey here ($27 for mani and pedi) but I think its worth it.

$12 for a regular mani plus taking off an old gel manicure for another salon. The salon is very clean and relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised. it was my first time here and even though the girl was a little hard on my nails and didn't make them as square as I asked, I would come back here in the event that my usual nail salon is closed like it is now.

    Took this right after.

This place is pretty pricey but, nail technician Summer made it worth it. She did such a great job with my acrylic gel tips and pedicure. I was very satisfied with my experience here although prices are steep for services. Idk if I would go back because of how expensive it is but, if I had the money... I'd go back $80 for my acrylic gel mani + 29 for pedi. If you wanna treat yourself, I'd recommend this place! My friend also enjoyed her services with Nancy. The techs all seem very meticulous with their work and the salon is very spa-like and high end. This place is very sanitary and has a nice relaxation feel to it the moment you walk in~

    Chipped :(

Best manicure in Whitestone. The service is great. Ask for Gloria for an amazing and rejuvenating chair-side massage. Phenomenal!

How much is a gel manicure and a regular pedicure?

A regular pedicure is now $29. It is a lot of money for just a regular Pedicure and the Spa Pedicure went up by a lot also in price.

I can't stop looking at my nails!…read more I've never done my nails outside before, so I was excited when my friend suggested doing our nails here. The spa is located on the second floor. Make sure to call to secure a spot, as they can easily get booked! The place is cash only, with tax if you Venmo/Zelle. The place was very chill, with the nail techs chatting with each other throughout my experience while they casually work their magic. I got the Gel Manicure ($40). They started off asking me to pick a color from a selection of books. Then the nail tech asked what shape I wanted, and began filing, shaping, and trimming my cuticles. Note to self and other nail newbies that nails need to grow out super long if you want square gel nails, to prevent the gel from touching your skin. The process was overall very relaxing, and fascinating for me to see the amount of care the lady puts into perfecting my nails. The process took around 1 hour 30 minutes, and even with my first time nails, the lady was chill and accommodated with patience, tips, and skill in making the gel manicure work on my short nails. Both my friend and I were very satisfied. My friend had the Regular Manicure ($15) and she noted how they added a finishing nail enamel spray, which other places don't do. Consider Arete for your next girls self care day!

Extremely Disappointed After 2+ Years of Loyalty -- Very Money-Hungry Business That Doesn't Value…read moreCustomers My sister and I have been loyal, consistent clients at this salon for over two years. Sadly, our recent experience has shown that they care more about money than treating their customers with basic respect and professionalism. I sent a deposit to secure an appointment, clearly expecting it to go toward the booking. At no point did I say it was a tip. The owner had previously canceled on me last minute, and I was understanding. Instead of asking for a refund, I chose to reschedule. When rescheduling, I was told a time with no clarification of AM or PM. Since I asked for the earliest slot, I assumed AM. I traveled from Brooklyn to Queens early in the morning and waited 45 minutes without a single response to my texts or calls. Hours later, I was finally told to come back. Frustrated but still loyal, I canceled other plans and returned--only to be offered a free manicure to make up for the mix-up. That day, my Uber costs alone were over $100--more than the cost of the service. Given all the inconvenience, I chose not to leave a tip, which is well within my rights as tipping is optional. I usually always tip, but not after that experience. Later, I was refused service completely--because I wanted to apply the deposit I had already sent toward a new appointment rather than let them keep it as a tip. Denying a loyal customer over something so small and unjustified is beyond unprofessional. This business lost two long-time clients over a situation that could've been resolved with basic communication and decency. If you value your time, money, and being treated with respect--go elsewhere And I'm happy you responded the way you did because you only proved my point more of how viewed your customers as optional and I wasn't valued as a customer after 2 years of loyalty and consistent tipping !

Instead, I received very rude service, which was unacceptable. I had no issues with the other staff, but because of this one employee, I won't be returning. Every request I made was rejected. I also requested a base coat, and she blamed it for why my polish wouldn't dry quickly. During the polish application, she kept insisting on doing things her way without explaining in English, but it was obvious she didn't want to accommodate any of my preferences. This place left me with serious buyer's remorse--I regretted my decision to come here and even more so after paying so much. During my pedicure, the nail tech scrubbed my foot so aggressively with the exfoliating tool that she cut the underside of my toe. She seemed to realize it too, because she noticeably used less pressure on the other foot. I didn't notice the cut right away, but felt a sting afterward and saw the injury. When I pointed it out, she apologized--but said nothing in the moment and had me put my foot back into the water, which is a major hygiene concern and increases the risk of infection. I asked when I arrived if they accepted cards and was told yes, but the additional card fee wasn't mentioned until checkout. That kind of information should be disclosed upfront--especially given that their prices are already on the higher end. I also got acrylic extensions, which were really mediocre. The length was inconsistent (as shown in my pictures), the application was thick, and the finished result looked like I already had them on for a week--she didn't apply the product close to the cuticle line, which left an obvious gap. The total came out to about $180 for a gel pedicure and acrylic manicure, and unfortunately, the quality just didn't match the price. They're charging premium rates for subpar work. (Keep in mind I wouldn't mind the price if it actually looked good and they did not give me a cut on my foot) Definitely won't be returning, and I WOULD NOT recommend this place to others.
