Nail Place 4 U was readily able to accommodate as a walk-in for gel manicures and pedicures on a Saturday morning. The location was spacious, welcoming, and clean. The instruments were brought out in prepped autoclave packaging which was reassuring about sterilization protocols. Regarding quality of products used, my nails still look smooth and polished about one week from when I had the manicure. That being said, I wish the person who did my nails was not so unnecessarily rough with me and in a seemingly huge rush. I was cut twice on the same pinky, once on my middle finger, and my poor big toe is still hurting from the pedicure. One week post manicure and my pinky is still very visibly red and swollen as well. I wish I could go back because it is well-situated and is very close to home but my experience includes needing a bandaid before leaving because my pinky was still bleeding. If I do go back I will need to ensure it is not the same person doing my nails. read more

Really give them 0 stars!! Got my nails done today Picked a powder gel color which turned out not to be the correct color. Apparently it was old sample! So he had one of the girls fix the sample because it really was a big mistake!! The color turned out very bright pink. They said they could put gel over it and reluctantly I agreed. Now they are so thick and some are bumpy. When I got home they just really just bothered me so I called to speak to the man who is always at counter who I believe is owner. I told him my nails are a mess and I wanted to go back. He started laughing hysterically at me! Are you kidding me? What an atrocious business man! I proceeded to tell him where to go and hung up on him. So lose a good customer for a mistake in your salon! You can't fix stupid! read more

I have tried different places near by, and I finally find the one. My favorites are Ann, Grace and Nicole! Because when they do it it just last more and they work amazing. Place is clean, and overall staff is very friendly. They also offer waxing, and other services I always do gel manicure and regular pedicure, sometimes I get like a special pedi that includes more stuff with lotions, massages etc. I am a regular, I come here every 3 weeks. read more

I went to get an SNS manicure they all chipped in a week. Came back to get them fixed and informed me they could not fix them all and had to pay full price again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt in hopes another technician would do a better job. Not even 2 days, 3 nails chipped. Went back to get them fixed, and 2 days later all of them chipped once again. I do not recommend going here if you want to waste $45 on basically a regular manicure. SNS should last between 2-3 weeks not days. Extremely disappointed. read more

I have been here twice so far as they have been great to accommodate me being a walk-in each time. I run all my errands nearby, so it's just convenient in terms of location. My first visit, I forgot the name of the lady that did my mani-pedi, but it was great. She was very gentle and careful, but just enough where her work was quality and I loved how both my fingers and toes turned out. She did cut my cuticle a little too short where there was slight bleeding... but the empath in me understands that accidents can happen... especially in this line of work. Today I went again and will not name drop, but the lady that did my mani-pedi was kind... but did manage to cut my cuticles too short and left several parts bleeding. She noticed on only one of the fingers and then continued to grab a tissue to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. Not a single word to acknowledge this mishap and pretended that she didn't see the others while wiping the blood "discreetly" away. Of course my fingers stung after. I'm trying to reason with this and didn't quite get upset as I do understand that it can happen. Moving onward, as she was finishing up my manicure, I witnessed right before my eyes her open the drawer right behind her and grab a sterilization pouch. She then put in all the nail clippers she just used on me (without cleaning them) into the pouch and sealed it shut. This validated my thoughts on the "sterilized" pouches at nail salons. In this case, it was just for the illusion of opening up a new pouch in front of the next customer for them to think it's clean. If it's not cleaned prior, what is the point of even doing that in the first place? I can't say that all workers do this here, or if that's the system in place for this establishment, but this action was definitely observed from a consumer perspective. I can't speak for other nail salons as well, but this has always been a curious thought on my mind. If it truly was clean and "sterile" just because it's in a sealed pouch. My pedicure today also felt rushed although it didn't seem as busy when I visited. read more

Only 2 blocks from my new apartment, I started going to Nail Place 4 U out of convenience for my pedicures. The salon itself is quite large, and they have plenty of staff. It's a popular place, though, and can get quite busy on the weekends. Walk-ins are usually not accommodated without a long wait and appointments are highly recommended. Lately, I've been wary of their charging practices for add-on services. For example, filing down gel polish when switching to regular polish for that visit will cost you $7 extra when it's typically free elsewhere. Callus remover will also cost you an additional $15 when other places only charge $5-$10. With so many other nail salons right on Francis Lewis, I will be exploring other businesses next time I need a pedicure. read more

Please beware, I loved this place up until yesterday in where I experienced colorism. I tried to ignore it a few other times and rather be non accepting to the fact that the male receptionist is quick to keep a low quiet environment for all other patrons but when there is a middle age white women gagging of laughter and after complaining to management he dead ass stared at me and said nothing to the women. Apparently I was being done by someone who had a customer soaking her gel off. Not only was that woman staring at me and the nail tech the entire time, while I was being painted the woman was calling the tech saying she's been waiting. 22 dollars for a rush job. Long overdue review for this nail salon. I've tried this place a few times already and have nothing but great things to say. Even when they're really busy (usually afternoons and weekends), they are always attentive and give exceptional customer service & extremely clean! Will a ton of nail polishes to choose from (essie, OPI, Color Club, vinylux, etc...) there is always 1 color you can go for. One of the reasons why I end up coming here as opposed to all the nail salons on the francis lewis strip which I have been to. The salon definitely has a salon/spa like feel to it which I really love. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is beautiful. You may be paying the most on the whole strip out of all salons for a gel manicure but it feels like luxury and the price is definitely worth it. All the girls here are great, but I settle for Sharon because her work is delicate and she cares for your nails as well as tells you what you should do to keep them healthy. read more

Popped in here today for the first time to get fill ins- honestly the wait at Oscar's and Bling was crazy so I decided to give this place a try. Pros: Clean, short wait and tons of Essie, OPI, Color Club and Vinylux in every color and finish you can dream of (another Yelper said there is an upcharge for Vinylux which if this is true is really shady) The inside is beautiful and looks modern and spa-like Cons: The lady who did my nails had a cold and kept sniffling and sneezing, she overall seemed out of it the entire time she was filing my nails so I hope these hold up. read more

I went during COVID and I felt safe and happy about my experience. I made an appointment for gel manicure and pedicure and the total was about $65 (The prices were raised due to COVID, but I think it was worth it). I was seated 1 seat away from other people and there were clear dividers. My technician Anna was attentive to detail and did my nails great. She had patience while applying 5 coats for my gel color since it was very transparent, and received feedback well. I would definitely want to try a foot massage/spa next time! read more

The salon is very clean and the manicurists are all so nice (especially Naomi, Yudis, Sofia, Anne, Wendy, and Grace). The prices also are very reasonable. This is my go to spot! I never appreciated how amazing this place is until I was left disgusted by some of the other nail salons in the area. They are ridiculously clean and friendly. You will always have excellent service regardless of which nail technician you have. All their products are clean and opened in front of you (nail filers and buffers are one time use and disposable). Things you will get here that (from my experience) you will not find at neighboring salons 1. Amaaaazing pedicure stands. Equipped with massage chairs. 2. Hand masks to soften your hands during manicures (its standard for gel manicures). 3. Fresh hot towels (straight from an incubator). 4. Sterile, clean, one time use tools. 5. The girls do a great job, and they have wonderful massage girls while waiting for your nails to dry. They always have newest colors and trends in nails. I just left this nail salon I am a SAHM who rarely ever gets a moment of time to myself for some self care. I went in excited to finally have a morning child-free to treat myself to a pedicure. I read the reviews on yelp and chose this place despite the high price because the reviews looked mostly good. I was also ready to tip really well-because I so rarely get to do something nice for myself-I thought it would be worth it to give a very large tip and kind of pay-it-forward to spread my good mood. It was a waste of time and I wish I had gone somewhere else. The woman who did my pedicure was rushed, and put in very little effort. I watched as the lady sitting next to me got a pedi from a woman who really took her time, asked her questions, and did a really nice foot and leg massage (which is what a mom need most!), when it came to my pedicure-the woman doing my feet was hurried, slathered on lotion like it was sunscreen (no massage), and it was done with streaks in the polish and finished very quickly. I ended up tipping $5, but walked in there really wanting to tip $15-20 for an $18 pedicure...I wanted to bring joy to someone else because I hoped some self care would bring joy to me. Instead I walked out disappointed and felt the whole cost of just a pedicure was way too much for the shoddy job I got. read more

As a long time customer I can say that not only is this the cleanest, best value salon- but I really sincerely believe that it's the best nail salon in Queens. I've been to a lot of nail salons. I've had manis, and I've had pedis; None compare for the experiences I've had at Nail Place 4U. The staff are all very attentive, there is sometimes a wait but never have I waited more than 10 minutes. And I cannot emphasize how clean it is; I also really appreciate the large variety of colors. They seem to really have a lot of gel options too. Parking can be hit or miss if you don't get a spot in the parking lot. But usually there is at least one waiting for you. :) You won't be disappointed by any of the nail services provided here. I asked a nail tech if they had a card for a next time visit with stamps in the back since "most" Nail places DO have these and offer it themselves after a first time visit, mind you I had already seen another customer take out that same card w stamps for a free mani pedi (we all wants out free mani/pedI) after all everything for so expensive during and after pandemic hit the world& it was also my first time to this location and the nail tech told me to ask the guy at the front desk so on my way out I stopped and asked the guy at the front desk if they had a card for a "next time" visit and I felt like he was just being racist he told me no they did not have those cards to give out, mind you I already saw a lady next to me use it! My mother, myself and my 3 year old daughter went in for a mani and pedi. We got there at 10 (right when they open) and it was empty. The male owner at the front desk said he did not have an opening for us as he had appointments. I asked what time would be better for us to come back and he said 12. When we returned at 12:30, he was not there and we were seated immediately for pedicure (except my daughter sat on my lap). My daughter did not want to get a pedicure (she gets shy) the employee that was supposed to do her nails recommended I just paint her nails myself while the employee did my pedicure. So, I did. As I sat down to get my finger nails painted, I had to pay first and I did. Then right before I was about to get my nails painted the male owner came over to me, very angry and rude and LOUD said "you pay $17 more". I was very confused at first. Another employee came over to explain that I needed to pay $17 for painting my daughters nails. He told the woman working on my nails to not paint my nails until I paid the extra $17. The entire place was packed while this was happening and all though they were all saying how disgusting his behavior was, I was very embarrassed. I offered a compromise to pay an additional $6 for using his nail polish to paint my daughters nails but refused to give him $17 for that! He was yelling and rude this entire exchange. It was very clear that he did not want us there because of my daughter. She is very well behaved and just sat on my lap the whole time. Didn't bother anyone. My mother eventually gave him the money just to get him quite. I was very angry she did that. As we left, people in the store commented to me that he was very wrong for doing that. We paid a total of $60 to be treated like animals. This is my nail salon I've gone to for years and I firmly believe he acted this way because I brought my 3 yo daughter. Tried Nail Place for the first time today; I got a Pedicure, Manicure and eyebrow waxing for $29.00 - definitely cheaper than Manhattan and just as good. what stood out for me was not only the cheaper prices but also how clean the place is. the chairs and equipment all looked brand new/well kept and for me this is very important. the staff is typical of nail places - friendly enough and English not very good - but who cares as long as the service is good. with so many nail places around, before I say this is the one for me, I definitely want to try a few others....but overall a nice place. read more

There are so many colors here that it's like a dream come true. I like the vinylux and even though charging $4 more for a product that costs less than other polishes is ridiculous I think it's still worth it. ( I buy polish online and vinlux is cheaper than essie or OPI so the $4 mark-up is just bad business). The reason for my 2 star review is the pedicures. I have only come twice but both times my pedicure lasted less than a week which makes me think the colors are being diluted. It's a shame. read more
