Prices are average as Japanese gel manis go (with minimal designs). I like to keep my nails short and am particular with what I want in regards to nail prep: keeping my nail shape the same, minimal bur usage, no cuticle cutting. I love that the nail tech (I never caught her name) was able to understand that and keep to my preferences without diminishing the quality/ durability of the gel nail design. My nails lasted 3+ weeks without any chips or dents. I usually frequent Arete, but I think Ting's will be my go to (she responds so much faster especially for appointment bookings!). read more

I was a little skeptical of all the amazing reviews, but I understand why now. you gotta go up to the third floor & to your left once you get up there. it's a small studio space, located at the very end of the hall, with 2 desks, Ting and another nail tech - which means, it's typically just you and another client. the office is well ventilated so there's no smell. they don't have any gel polish except for leaf gel premium. it was a very interesting experience for sure. I made a same day appointment, because I didn't know if I would be in that area. Ting was accommodating, even though I didn't book with her. I was booked with a student of hers. the nail tech was very detailed in her cuticle clean up. she definitely took her time making sure my extensions were done to the correct length. I did have to correct her in terms of design. I wanted it done according to the photo where it was on the pink, ring and middle & she started putting it on my middle, index and thumb. her line work wasn't bad, but definitely can tell where she stopped and started a line. also you won't get any treatments along with your manicure here, it's just the manicure - no lotion, no wax, but I am 100% fine with that as they put a lot of time into your nails. my only gripe was she put way too much glue under my nails. I ended up messaging Ting the next day who was willing to see me and to clean me up! she ended up apologizing & did a fabulous job grinding down the glue! They were very time efficient- they quoted me 2.5 hours and they finished exactly then. Lin did such a good job with my nails and was super attentive to details. I loved how she constantly asked me if things were looking okay before curing it under the lamp. It was easy to request an appointment via Instagram message. A deposit is required before your appt is confirmed, which is understandable. I sent a picture of what style i wanted and Ting gave me a quote for price. I found the price very reasonable for the design and length of time required for the service. The location Main street, Flushing is easily accessible via public transportation and the shop is also easy to find, just go up a few flights of stairs. I arrived about 15 minutes early for my appt, and was seen on time. Ting is very efficient and I would absolutely recommend her services. My nails are now 3 weeks old and there is barely any lifting. Great nail salon! Seems like it's still a small business of two people. I don't get my nails done very often and I wanted artsy nails for a vacation. I made my reservation 2-3 weeks in advance via Instagram DM. The way it grows out has been great even after 2.5 weeks. My nails haven't lifted at the edges or anything. I think my only qualm was design related but I think that's just a personal opinion. I'm just slightly irked that my manicurist did so many blues paired with whites and reds paired with yellows and didn't switch it up enough. I love going to Ting to do my nails! Almost like an addiction. She does such an amazing job that now my friends are hooked too! The last time I went to her was more than a month ago and my nails still be looking fresh and new! I have had really bad experience with my nails prior as it is difficult to find someone who is patient, cares about every step, and makes sure each nail is perfect, especially here in New York. I've yet to meet anyone as precise and skillful as Ting is. I'm very particular with my nails and she never fails to impress me with her skills. She takes her to perfect each nail and makes sure you're satisfied and happy, which is hard to find because other places just rush and do a mediocre job. Her prices are also really reasonable. You pay for what you get and with Ting, I think you get more than what you pay for because of the gel she uses. My nails grow back healthier and stronger, and they lasts over 3 weeks. I've been coming to Ting's for my manicure for more than one year. It's already become a place to fulfill my fancy "princess" dream and relax. I felt so sad that I couldn't come for my manicure during the quarantine. Thank to God, it reopens! The beautiful nails make my day! This was my first time ever getting nail art done professionally and I'm so glad I came here. After hours of comparing other places, I decided Ting's work was too great to pass by. So I made an appointment and sent in my deposit. I got my gel nail polish taken off free of charge and after Ting meticulously cleaned up my cuticles, I showed her the picture of what I wanted and she got to work right away. It was honestly such an amazement to see how detailed she was. Honestly compared to the reference picture I showed her, she did it almost identical if not more perfect than the reference picture. Long overdue review. I've been getting gel manicure as long as I can remember, and it has left my nails paper thin, in contrast what they say about gel manicures. Also I was told I have tough (?) cuticles, which are hard to remove, and was prone to bleeding with removal and messy hang skin after manicures. However! Ever since I started getting my nails here about six months ago, my nails are so much stronger. Also my cuticle was not caused to bleed during removal and did not have messy hanging skin. It's easy making an appointment and she responds pretty quickly. There is a $30 deposit to hold your spot, but it gets deducted at the end of your service. She specializes in Japanese leafgel nails and they lasted me over a month without any lifting or discomfort. If you take a look at her Instagram, she is very talented and detail oriented in her craft and she's also very gentle. I've been to other nail salons where they drill too much to the point where your cuticles feel raw or bleed (which is why I don't get them done too often).
