I want to say I've been going to Steph for my nails for at least 3 times so far but I feel like I've known her for longer One of my sisters introduced me to her because she saw Steph's IG with all these beautiful nail designs. Where do I even start? Steph does an outstanding job at her craft. There are many times where I'll come in with an idea, and leave with something completely different just because this chick always makes suggestions or tweaks to what I originally want. This is not a bad idea just because her ideas are EVEN BETTER than my original ones. (I mean see the pictures for yourselves!) Parking spaces are hard to find in flushing, but you can always commute by transit considering that there are so many buses and it's conveniently located two blocks away from the 7 train. Don't expect this to be your average nail salon, because it's a much more intimate setting. Not a cramped space, but rather a cozy aesthetic feel with flowers along the walls, and her mother's succulents decorating the shelves! Because steph takes her time with her clients and is also a full time student, the "downside" is that it's run by appointment only- so feel free to dm her on insta @stephthenailtech! Stephanie's shop is located inside a larger salon on the second floor and only takes one customer at a time, so you can definitely feel safe and socially distanced for your entire appointment! I had my previous gel manicure removed and she did a regular manicure with a clear polish, and had the best time! Stephanie is really detail-oriented and is also a lovely person to chat with! She's also pretty flexible with scheduling and won't hesitate to spend a little more time to make sure you're satisfied with your nails! Honestly, nothing bad I can say about this place. Absolutely love love love Steph. She's really the best nail tech ever because she actually cares about my nails. So many other places just use the drill to file down the gel, which really weakens my nails, but she doesn't. My nails always bend if I touch too much water or am rough with it, after going to other nail salons, but not when I go here. Both times I've been here I'd sit for 2.5-3 hrs, but I'll take that any day because my nails never feel brittle after the session unlike other spots I've tried. Majority of the time was spent on the removal, and she's super meticulous with everything. 2.5-3 hrs may sound long, but because she converses with me and is super friendly and cute, the time flies by. She gives me exactly what i want, and more! The price is super fair because she doesn't charge by the gem (I've gotten charged $1 for each tiny rhinestone). I paid $55 for the pink gel set and $40 for the dark red/black gel set. The nails also last a very long time, my first set with her lasted me 3 weeks (wouldve lasted longer but my nails grew out and I got it removed) and none of the gems fell out!! Always gonna be my go to, and I highly recommend!! She is very busy with school and work so it takes her a while to respond to appointment requests; just book the appointment a few weeks in advance! My main issue is that my mani/pedi took upwards of 4 straight hours, and that was after the woman working on me called in backup and had someone else work on my hands to help the process along when I said I needed to leave. I came here because I saw they do great coffin nails and they do in fact accomplish a nice shape. But I really wasn't happy that I spent so much time in the chair, it went from trying to relax to being stressed about wasting so much of my day.
