My nails last and have not chipped yet. (It has been 2 weeks!) It's very relaxing and they have stands for your phone if you decide to watch a show. This place may be known for its nail art but I do not recommend it for basic services like a pedicure. First off, the salon is down a flight of broken concrete steps that are a tripping hazard and it is drafty and cold inside with no nice touches. I added on a service of callus removal - $15, not cheap. It was subpar, I've never seen a rasp used in any of the dozen salons I've used over the years, and the actual removal was not good. Maybe 50% of the callus was removed. Most salons have nail drying oil and saran wrap at the pedicure drying station for customers to use. This one did not. When I asked for saran, the nail tech wrapped it so haphazardly (like she had never done it before), that I ended up with marks from the saran all over my nails. Do NOT recommend. read more

All other nails are concave. The extension is convex and titled out to an angle way too the left. The top coat from Second Lady: uneven with big dips and bumps and I will NOT wanna go back a 3x to let her fix it. With gel manicures, the top coat is everything and they ruined it I still tipped Second Lady 25% because if you speak up, they scream at you, give you attitude, and the door is locked unless they unlock it remotely Vibe 0/5 They are hot and cold re customer service wise and the second half of the store is under remodeling with some loud thumping. And the nail tech proceeded to do that until I told her to please take the gel off my broken infield nail and put an extension on it so all nails are even length and shape and she said $10 for each, so the repair was $20 and not free. That's okay, but to think they really were gonna let you leave the studio like that SMH Also the supposed top coat they give you on all your nails after you repair 2-bumpy and uneven--huge dips and throws all the money you used previously on all other fingers out the window. Definitely not worth the $160 and here's exactly why. I'm very disappointed how the first experience I had here. Starting with setting up with my appointment through a phone call, I called them to confirm that I would like an appointment at 12PM. They said there were available and as the day comes, I went in the shop at 12:03. They told me to sit and I waited for over 40 minutes until they finally get to do my nails. I complained about the lack of organization of scheduling the appointment time as I did mention to them I waited for over 40 minutes. (AND on top of that, I had another appointment at 3PM on the same day after this, so yes, they made me late for my 3PM appointment so I have every reason to be very upset.) I saw them discussing and going over the pricing saying that the original price was $180 and gave me a discount of $148 without the tax. I find it very suspicious as another customer her nails were only $150. They were basically ripping me off, but I was too nice and so done with the poor service and accommodation to the delay of the appointment. (I also did not have time to set up another nail appointment in the future before my trip to japan so I went with it anyway.) It just shows that they could care less about their customers which clearly shows their lack of understanding and professionalism. Moving forward, the place was not great due to the infestation of flies and bugs flying around and crawling on the ground. They left a fly swatter on one of the guests couches so it was very unsanitary. (Again, clearly shows they could care less about their customers. And yes, it had bug guts on it...) As they finally brought me in to do my nails, the woman who was designing my nails could've done a better job. Even I had to assist her on the placements of the flower petals I wanted. (Like why am I assisting her on the placements of the flowers, it was like I was worker there and she didn't do much about designing my nails. All I was doing is moving the flower petals to make it more neat but decided not to do much as I will show you a picture of the flowers she did.) It was not honestly that hard to move a flower petals to make a flower but unfortunately, it just came to be crooked. Not only that but she got rid of the sparkling pink nails I originally wanted. Of course in the end, I absolutely did not give them a tip as they do not deserve it if they continue to be unprofessional. And I could care less about them giving me a free ring and most of the rings didn't look so appealing. I've never written a poor review ever but felt it was warranted after this visit. Essentially, this place is overpriced for the quality of service that was provided. This was my first experience at MG and I'm sorry to say it was a poor experience as I had high hopes based on the various good reviews in comparison to many other salons around the area. I chose this salon as they had a late closing time at 8:30pm which fitted our needs. I called in at around 6pm hoping to get a pedicure appointment for my friend and I, and was grateful to be told that they were able to accommodate us for 6:30p. My friend also wanted to get her current gel nails removed and do gel x extensions with some simple designs if time would allow, which was expressed over the phone. Once we got there at around 6:40p, we were let in and asked if we were the 6:30 appt. All the staff were occupied and we were told to sit. I asked to sit where with no reply given, so we just sat ourselves by the front area with stools. The staff weren't welcoming but could be understood since they were all busy. Two other customers were already getting pedicures at the moment with two others getting their nails done as well. Eventually one of the customers finished, and my friend was seated to remove her gel nails which began at around 7pm. At around 7:30p, one of the staff approached me and asked if I wanted to do a regular or gel pedicure and told me regular is $30 and gel is $60 in Chinese. I translated that to my friend as she doesn't speak Chinese and proceeded to tell the staff I wanted to do regular. I was then seated by this staff member after one of the two pedicure customers left. Perhaps I wasn't clear or she misunderstood, but I ultimately ended up with a gel set. She gave me an array of colors to choose from and I told her I wanted a milky white/light pink. She gave me a disclaimer that some of the colors are gonna be too light so I avoided choosing those numbers. I ended up picking a milky white color that wasn't the numbers she mentioned, and she began painting them. After picking my color she began to apply the base coat and I trusted she knew what she was doing as she worked quickly but diligently to prep my nails, so I began to scroll on my phone and was distracted. A little after 8pm, I noticed she was curing my nails, which confused me as I thought I had chosen a reg pedi but I figured maybe that was just part of the process as I hadn't gotten my nails done in over 3 years but never had a problem in previous salons I've been to. At the same time my friend was seated next to me, and we were literally having a conversation as I was expressing to her why I didn't like gel for my toes in English. I picked up a phone call a little after and by the time I had hung up the staff had finished by 8:15pm and cleaned/packed up everything. A different staff walked over saw my pedicure and made a disapproving face- to which the staff responded "I already let her know that the color might not show up very well on the toes, I even added in another color to fill it in". At the time I vaguely noticed that my right foot was more even while my left foot polish was more opaque, but I thought maybe it was the lighting/angle (the left foot polish is definitely lighter/spotty than the right foot) At checkout, I was charged 60 + tax and told that it was gel. At that point I figured there was no point in making it awkward and complaining as it was close to closing time and I was waiting for my friend to finish, which likely was gonna put them past closing. My total after tip for the single color gel pedicure was $75. I felt like the staff should've told me what she added (I have no clue) or could've offered if I wanted another coat (as I've picked a similar color at another salon before and was offered) before finishing and packing up while I was on the phone. Upon closer inspection, although I got a fresh pedicure, aside from the difference in color, it looks as if the job on my left foot was rushed. It's uneven and it's like my nail is already grown out on the left foot as the polish wasn't painted as close to the cuticle as it should be. Eventually my friend who got gel x extensions with simple designs along with a gel pedi finished at around 9pm. I've attached the pic of her nails with the design she asked for. The design on her left hand middle finger did not match her right hand middle finger and is the only outlying design in her whole hand. Her total was ~$215 + tax ($150 nails+$60 pedi) and with tip $240. I'm not sure if the staff were rushing due to the time crunch, but if the time was the problem, they should've declined certain services instead of slacking on quality. Hopefully these will at least last a few weeks for us both, in which I'll update in my review. Overall it's disappointing because it felt like we overpaid as we've both gotten way more complex designs in the past with better service, quality and pricing. read more

I am obsessed with their Gel X extension sets. Mia is my go to nail tech. She is very meticulous and she takes her time doing my nails. I never feel rushed or unheard. She takes all my questions seriously and tries her best to work with my difficult requests. (Granted I speak Chinese... if you can't speak Chinese. It might be a bit more challenging.) There's a good mix of Chinese and non-Chinese customers every time I am here. They are almost always busy and rarely take walk-ins, so make sure you make an appointment ahead of time. Personally I feel that their prices are a bit on the pricey side. But the quality of their products and service somewhat makes up for it??? I only splurge on nails every other month. I paid $215 for the witch bitch killer claws. I did this back in October for Halloween obviously. It took 3 hours to complete. They charge $85 for the new set and $130 for the design. Charms are usually $5-$10 each depending on the size; Hand drawn designs are $2-$8 per details depending on how complicated it is. I also asked them to paint the bottom of my claws blood red, so it cost an extra $30. This is literally the most expensive set of nails I've ever done. I got the a gel pedicure and the white Gel X extensions tips today. They charged $50 for the pedicure and $85 for the manicure. So it didn't break my wallet too much. I have been coming to Mg Nail not regularly but at least a few times within months. But the quality of work and the customer services are gradually lacking . They are good at nail designs and have a good collection of colors; but most of my visits there, the cuticle cleaning part is very rushy and sometimes they don't let you wash your hands. Just wipe your hands with a wet towel and then move on to the color part. Few days after , you will start to notice the cuticle is growing and become very dry / hard callus on each corner of the fingers and start to bother ...the place is good to solve your problem if you need to be out fast ; but for the return of your customers, need further review on it... read more

I find the place dishonest after my second time coming here. I got a gel mani, regular pedi, gel removal. My total was 123 before tip. For my mani, I asked for a natural pink to white-ish ombre and was charged extra for it (75). Absolutely no one that I showed these nails to thinks this is ombré. I insisted at multiple stages nicely that this doesn't look ombré and that it doesn't look pink. She insisted it did (yes, my nail beds not the actual ombré itself) and was pushy for me to say yes and not correct her mistake. Her attempt was asking if I wanted the ends more white which was exactly what I said I didn't want so she resumed doing what she was doing. It looks like a regular one color and they are not what I asked for. For my pedi, I used the same color as my first visit, but it came out so much thinner the second time around and the paint job was horrible. I don't want to make any accusations, but it feels off here with the thinning... I also did not see my nail tech use a bottom coat so I will be removing the nail job. I did not say anything about this while it was happening because I didn't think much of it in the moment, but after this collective experience, there's no way I would've missed that. It was a lazy pedi. I would try the other places in the area instead and read through the other non-5 star reviews to get a better perspective on some common issues. This one has more photos and reviews than the other neighboring businesses, but most photos were uploaded by the business. I like to support asian owned businesses and have had family experienced in this work, but I don't appreciate the dishonesty and the work I received overall from this second visit. Yesterday was my 4th time going to MG, and I believe it may be my final time I've been going to MG consistently for roughly 4 months now, once every month or 2-3 weeks for a refill or a new Gel manicure. Each time i've been getting the same design with minor changes it's always pastel pink with a white ombré. But it was just this one experience that ruins it for me Refil - $65 Ombré nail - $45 Nail art (Simple) 5 dollars for each nail- $10 which came to 120, but I paid with card so it was $125, I'm usually a heavy tipper but this time I just tipped 21% which was 25 dollars for the nails that I was done. I would considering what I had to pay I would expect better quality, and it has been held true for the previous 3 times, I have always paid roughly $150 each time not including tip for my nails, the third time I got my nails done it was by the front desk, the lady who answers the phone, she was great. My nails looked great, paid $143, 135 before tax and I tipped her $35 dollars for the work, my nails were smooth and the transition of the color was good **My experience This time I had my nails done by Nancy, Im not sure if she wasn't experienced but when you always come in you see their licensing on the walls. My nails took around 1 hour or so to do, but Nancy was doing a refill for me, meaning she took off the old design off of my nails and redoing a new one. While doing my nails, Nancy started filing too much of it which I could tell, she had to paint a gel coat and then file it down again. She started accidentally filing my cuticle area and after when she removed my excess cuticle for all of my nails, she nipped my thumb cuticle and it started bleeding. The second time when I came to MG, this other nail tech was doing my cuticles said "This is why you do it at a professional place because if you remove your cuticles yourself you'll nip yourself and bleed haha" and here I am, my cuticles accidentally nipped and bled. I told Nancy that my thumb was bleeding and she quickly took some cotton and some sort of alcohol to stop the bleeding, it stung soooo badly. And when she was filing my nails after she had to do it multiple times, which is fine whatever is needed to get pretty nails you know. But my nails ended up turning bumpy and it wasn't smooth at all, some areas of my nails weren't painted either, the the gel on my nails still have air bubbles inside, I pointed the air bubbles in my nails out to Nancy, and she told me after she paints the top coat it would not be apparent and I trusted her. But the final result ended up having so much air bubbles, my left thumb, index finger with my right thumb all have pretty visible air bubbles in them, and the gel color wasn't consistent at all on all of my nails, some of them were bumpy and patchy. My nails weren't filed well and it had a sharp edge when I just got it done yesterday and I know my nails don't grow that quickly I would say the best thing about MG is that they're all very polite no matter what race you are, I've been there four times and i've seen.. a majority of them being asian but wether you are caucasian, African American, Asian, Male, Rude teenage boys that came in and started screaming randomly who wanted pedicures, MG treated them all with respect and I would say that is the best part of MG The reason why I gave it a 3 Star review is that I still love MG it's just I don't trust it anymore, I don't want to step into there again to pay another heavy bill just to get nails done by what it looks like to be done by an amateur, money is not really an issue if what you produce is quality but it's just this one bad experience that ruined it for me :( read more

I'm overdue for an updated review. I've been coming here since July 2020 when nail salons reopened post-COVID. I get their gel-X extensions and get fill every few weeks. My gel manis have never chipped, despite all that I put my hands through at work. Design work is top notch and well done, and my technician never gives me attitude if I ask for something to be fixed. She's always meticulous and makes sure that I'm completely satisfied. One time, three of my gel-X extensions fell off and they made it up to me by replacing them for free and only charged me for a fill. They've never fallen off since. Prices are way better than in Manhattan and it's worth taking a trip here for the quality and price. They take card, but they don't charge tax if you use cash. I save quite a bit on this, especially when I get a whole new set of extensions. Highly recommend. read more

So this didn't go as I planned. I got on Yelp to look for a local nail spot since the girl that does my nails was extremely sick and my nails needed to be done for the weekend. I saw this place and said ok they do a pretty good job. Shouldn't be that expensive for what I want. I called them and asked for a quote and the girl on the phone stated $80-$90 with gel manicure with design and nail hardener and gel pedicure. I get there for my appointment and the girl starts on my toes first. I had gel nail polish on previously so she had to remove it. Instead of buffing and soaking off she using a machine to file everything down. As she does that she crack one of my toe nails and doesn't even accept responsibility for it. So I continue to watch to see what she does. She files my toes and immediately starts putting on the base coat for the gel polish. I ask ummm so my toe nail is cracked are you not going to apply glue and try to repair it? She stated no I can just put the gel over and it would work. I said no I need you to fix it so it doesn't crack. She then got the glue to fix it. Finished my gel polish and asked me to go and sit for my nails. This is where it gets insane. I show her a picture of what I was thinking for Halloween nails. Nothing crazy, simple Ombré orange with black little designed (picture attached) she then has me air drop it to her and she sends it to her work chat for the price. She then proceeds to tell me if that's what I want then it will be $120 I was like wait a minute. You're telling me my own nails that you aren't adding acrylic or extensions to and only gel polish and hardener with a simple design is that much. They charge extra for matte coat , the nail hardener which was a polish plus damn near $35 for the design. Oh and the gel pedicure was $50!!!!! After she quoted me $35 on the phone for gel pedicure which was one color!! Total would have been $170 !!! So I told her no just do the ombré orange alone I don't need the design she said it would then come out to be $85. I was already there so I said if you can do it just like that then fine. She didn't even fade it out enough nor did she put a coat under to make it more of a natural even look all around. This review is more of a 3.5 but that's not an option on yelp. I'll start with the positives and then go into why I'm not giving 5 stars. I booked an appointment to get my nails done for my wedding and called a few times to book for my bridesmaids as well. Making an appointment is super easy - you just have to call to book and their system automatically connects it to you through your phone number. So each time I called to alter my reservation, they new it was for my party. When we arrived they immediately seated us (4 total). 1 of us got a regular manicure, which finished quickly but there were a number of visible bubbles in the polish. I and 2 bridesmaids got gel manicures with nail art. All of our designs were beautifully done and my nail technician made sure I liked the natural pink shade I chose which was helpful because I was having a hard time choosing (since my wedding is a big day for me!). I had also broken my nail the day before and she was able to fix it and make sure the gel worked with my nail. One of my friends had Mary do her nails and she did an excellent job and worked with my friend to do what she wanted I didn't get my nail technician's name but she was the woman also taking phone calls and appointments, which she was doing while she was filing and preparing my nails. I didn't mind it until she was doing my cuticles and cut my skin a little too much on my right hand (it was raw but didn't draw blood). She didn't seem to realize it either until much later when she went back to file the sides of my nail and grazed the raw part of my skin which obviously hurt and I reacted. I was bummed about it because it hurt a lot and it was the day before my wedding so it would be hurting for a few days at least! I will say that the end result (besides the raw skin) was great and I loved how it came out. They've also lasted me a full 2 weeks - no chipping or cracking. Honestly, it'll probably last a little longer but I'm not a fan of super long nails so I'll be taking them off soon. I just really wish she didn't cut my skin so raw. read more

I'm super happy with the simple yet elegant job done by my nail associate at Mg Nail & Beauty. I arrived a bit early for my appointment, which was super awkward, so not recommended that you arrive much earlier than 5 minute prior to your appointment, due to COVID restrictions, and each person having other customers. But she finally invited me in to look at the nail colors & art. I already had researched a few ideas of my own, never really having done high quality nail art before, except for a speedy job done for my shotgun wedding, at a lower-end nail salon. I settled on a bright sea foam green with a "drop of gold," as is currently the trend because I didn't want to make my artist work harder, just see the quality of work they do. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily she was able to make my vision (my sample photo) a reality, using gold foil and, quite literally, little drops of gold on each nail. For my wedding I wanted to try on a look that was more special than your average gel manicure. I stumbled upon this site on Yelp and saw they had extensive options, including gel extension as an alternative to acrylics. I'd never done acrylics before but the women at the shop said they are safer on nails compared the the acrylics. I showed the woman that was assisting me a photo of the nails that I wanted and she said no problem. I started with the gel pedicure first and I have to say, I've never had such an extensive selection of colors to choose from before! Whatever it is: dip, metallic, gold flake, iridescent, matte, etc...they have it! The foot-bath was clean and I loved the changing led lights rainbow lights. Next we moved in to the gel extension for the manicure. We started with gluing the extension pieces which gave me these clear claws, which she of course cut down and filed the way I wanted. Next she put on the gel builder which is this pinkish goo that you put into the UV light. I could only tolerate a few seconds at a time because it was so hot on my nails, but hey pain is beauty right? Anyways they came out amazing for the wedding photos and stayed gorgeous throughout our entire honeymoon in Aruba the picture was taken nearly one week from when I got them done. These babies were indestructible! Snorkeling, cave exploration, natural rock pool, boat sailing, jeep tour, you name it...and not a single rhinestone had fallen off until about three weeks after I had them. Very pricey experience, manipulative pricing, and poor manicure job that makes me want to get a manicure later this week to remedy what I received. Firstly, I got a mani pedi and they didn't try at all to remove any of the dead skin on my feet and didn't clean up my cuticles or loose skin on my nails. I have nail polish on my actual finger that the nail tech neglected to wipe off, and they underquoted me and overcharged for my manicure. They told me that it's usually $5 per two nails for designs. I selected a simple nail design and they ended up charging me $15 extra. I switched up my manicure color (just single color, no designs) and the nail tech told me she would charge $15 extra just to have alternating colored nails - no salon has ever done that before! Note - they didn't charge me the extra $15 because I prepaid, but they made the offhand comment that made me feel uncomfortable Update - my nails a week later did not maintain their form. I tried to cut the nail as they were peeling from the top, but then the sides started peeling - see picture #2 attached. I was to treat my mother for Mother's Day but my mother paid in cash (as cash is preferred) but I repaid her! read more

Extremely pricy especially for the location! Ok y'all here's the run down: I paid $120 JUST FOR NAILS. Like what???? and I didn't even do anything crazy! To be clear, I added extensions to my nails (not acrylic) and did gel. Need specifics? Ok. I did black color gel with two fingers on each hand, "marble". I'm emphasizing on the marble because my right hand came out OK (not good but ok) and my left hand looks like my 9 month old daughter did it. Sooooo, they charged me $15 per two nail designs. That was already expensive but I was in a jam so I had no choice. The total bill was $120. I did my nails a week and a half ago and they are already chipping. Unacceptable. First of all, I'm not sure where they even get their pricing from. It isn't even an upscale nail salon. It's nice but it isn't Manhattan either, you know! It's flushing! You can go down the block and find a cheaper price! I was ok with paying for the price because I'm like ok maybe they'll last me. And here I am a couple days later, a couple days before my birthday with busted nails. Do I want to go back there and get this fixed? Yes! Will I? Nope. Not worth my time and the traffic of flushing. Updating this because less than a week after getting my $110 gel nails done three of nails began chipping. I went in and they did the repair for free but rather quickly. Literally two days later the nails began chipping again. This is not worth the amount I paid for. They either need to switch product, or be more careful about how they cure, do the nails. It felt rushed and I believe they weren't cured enough throughout each layer hence why they're chipping. read more

Ha-Ha did a really great job on my nails! She was super patient with me and my broken/chipped nails. I didn't make a appointment ahead of time but they were kind enough to take me in today on such short notice. Thank you again! :) Updating after 9 days. My cuticles are messed up and the bed of my nails are still hurting! This have never happened to me and 2 of my fingernails seem to be discoloring under which is very concerning. I think I'm going to have to remove the gel completely before it gets worse. Disclaimer, my cuticles are usually perfect but after coming here, it's practically destroyed and I don't know why! I requested Nancy or Momo for my UV gel fill In. Receptionist said they were on vacation and said all nail techs are good. I replied no they are not hence the reviews. If I'm going to pay 80$ for uv gel fill in I want it done correctly. I also do not want to get burned or cut. Cancelled appointment. Ended up paying 50$ for uv gel fill in somewhere else. read more
