Do not get gel here if you want to maintain real nails! Firstly after newer ownership, on two occasions I asked for square filing which my nails already were obviously square, and both occasions asian lady did the opposite- completely oval. Second time it happened i said something and she then managed to get sharp points on all the sides, causing splitting on sides later as well easily shipping most corners off. It seems when someone has nice long already these asian places overfile and treat them like plastic or acrylic. That being said, everyone in the dermatology and spa industry will tell you stay away from gel manucure which needs machine to remove. Good European place i go to now uses shellac brand that soaks off- no machine scratching off your surface to paper thin, brittle nails. This is beyond the uv light cancer scare. Its also completely damaging the surface of your nail, just to do it again in 12 to 20 days. I did get twice here and tbe second was when my nails are growing u der pretty quickly yet chipping under the shell so that they were all broken underneath due to the first time already destroying my nail bed to the thinnest. Stay away from opi jail!@ ask for shellac brand and it should not need machine off. Never ever let a machine plugged in scratch your real nails!!! I had to cut them all the way down and start over with scratched surfaces. Again, they trest real nails like plastic. Also with pedi- they over buffed my already decently strong nails to paper thin nails absorbing the nailpolish. Why are you sitting there scratching the surface of someone's toenails to that level? Took me about 4 months last year over the winter to repair my own toenails by keeping them unpainted to breathe and cutting them short myself onky to have a pedicure this winter to completely destroy my bug toes again. They buffed so much you see scrstches and the nsilolish pretty much baked in the scratched and made my big toes yellow. I already had good nails. I try to say- do not buff- the following time and still the lady buffed a little. Now I have to let them breathe until theate spring and use my own nail protector and repair them all over. But it saddens me I no longer hsve fingernails after "only" two gel manicures. A lot of wome. Getting these back to back will see in a few yesrs whst is mean when they have skin as nails be ause there will be no nail left. Do not let anyone scratch off fhe surface of your nail! read more

I paid 40$ just for them to change the COLOR of my acrylics to a different gel color when every other salon in queens charges 30$ for a gel filling... meaning I could have got a new set of nails with that. When my go-to nail salon closed cause of COVID, I needed to find a new nail salon. Sweet Nails came up as a recommended salon by someone who travels 40 mins by car to get to them, so I figured it was worth a shot. I only use Essie Gel Couture nail polish for my manis & pedis. Knowing this, I'm prepared to pay extra (usually $3-$5 per mani, and the same per pedi). However, since some salons don't carry a full line of Essie Gel Couture colors, I usually bring my own color and top coat. I walk in and was pleasantly surprised that they had some good colors and picked one. Proceeded to get my toes done with their EGC color and MY top coat. Get my mani, use MY color and MY top coat. Go to pay, the owner, Veronica, tells me its $30 for a mani/pedi. Then asked if I used the salon's EGC nail polish. I said, I used 1 out of their 3 polishes for my pedi only. So now all of a sudden my total is $38. That's an $8 upcharge for using their 1 color. I said to her, for an $8 upcharge, you should have told me BEFORE I used the color. She tells me "there's a sign there with the price". I asked her to show it to me. She proceeds to go to the section and looks confused. "Oh there was a sign that used to be there" and comes back with $1 of change (I gave her a $50). I replied "you just told me it was $38". Her response "oh yeah I forgot you got callus eliminator". Fair enough but calculate correctly and completely before you take a patron's money. I honestly don't make a big deal about a few dollars here and there, especially when it's a local business during these COVID times. However, what is not okay is: - Transparency of pricing - No empathy for being wrong and the customer being right (there was no sign) In addition, apparently you air dry your nails there if you get non-gel. The lady next to me was told to wait and sit there until her nails dried (no fan). I was told to sit there and wait until my nails dried AFTER my nail tech took the fan from two girls drying their pedicures. Sorry girls! I usually sympathize with Latina owned businesses, but this isn't how you treat a first-time customer. It seems like they have their "regulars" so I'm not worried about them losing business. However, for us new customers, beware. Oh and also - if you're looking for nail-tech Sandra: "She's currently pregnant and doesn't have a set schedule. Depending on how she feels she comes in or not." - As overheard on two calls that came in. Completely unprofessional. The correct answer, as one of Owner Veronica's employees tried to state is: "Sandra is currently out. I would love to book an appointment with another of my nail techs if you'd prefer." read more

Let's just get to the point... The manager or owner cannot file nails straight. It was slanted and very noticeable. When I mentioned it to her she tried to fix it and made it worse. I tried to show her multiple times that my nails are slanted and her response was that "I don't see it" So I couldn't let her finish my manicure because I have finally grown my nails out and did not want them to ruin them. I just left the salon and went to another salon. The reason they got two starts is because the first time I went there the manager or owner started my manicure and another girl took over in the middle. I asked that girl to fix my nails because the manager or owner filed them slanted. She noticed the horrible filing job and fixed all my nails. Needless to say my nails were shorter gsm what I wanted. All I wanted to know was if they could accommodate us and the woman walked into the back with book for ten minutes discussing with another woman , so I asked the girl in the front do you guys not have time and she just stared at me blankly . So I said you know what no worries forget it , if you can't answer or figure it out I'm not going to continue standing here for another 15 minutes until you come up with an answer and I left . Called and made an appointment same day for a gel pedicure. The woman I spoke with was very kind and informative. Upon arrival I was greeted with warm welcomes and stepped into an immaculately clean business. Covid precautions were adhered to per state recommendations. The pedicure chair/tubs looked brand new. The woman who did my pedicure was extremely detail oriented. I am very pleased with the outcome of my service. I would recommend that they post their service packages in an area visible from the pedicure chairs, as I would have happily upgraded my service from the basic had I been presented the option. Very disappointed, I usually come here and it can go good or bad depending on the girl I get.. I try to be understanding. But wow!! I came here and they really let me down. They had me wait for an hour before I realized it was going to be even longer because they kept getting appointments walking in . They had me with my feet in water for 50 minutes. They should have let me know it would be more than an hour wait. It seems they might have also overbooked. The girls who work here are so nice and talented plus the place is really clean (I am OCD when it comes to nail salons being clean, so when I say clean I mean CLEAN!) lol. I wanted to love this spa. It was gorgeous and pristine inside. Quiet with relaxing instrumental music, posh decor and beautiful new equipment. However their selection for powder nails was minimal and not every color had a sample available to see. While my pedicure technician did great overall, my manicure, which was more expensive, left alot to be desired. Firstly, the color chosen as a match for my toenails was totally off. But I decided to overlook it as it is harder with powder nails to see final color. However the technician who did the manicure filed my nails unevenly, destroyed the cuticles and skin all around my nails by sloppily trimming them, and cut some nails shorter than others. The brush she began to use to apply the liquid glue prior to powder was dried up and she insisted on using it; this left streaks. I told her I felt a clump and maybe she needed to change it out, took her a while to get there. The nail technician changed in the middle of the manicure too, thankfully, as my original manicurist was preoccupied with an incoming appointment. However, due to excessive over filing and shaping, the powder nail polish cracked that night while I was making my bed. They fixed it for free immediately the following day, but I lied about how it broke so they wouldn't feel bad. Honestly, all the girls were super nice and welcoming. But not even 48 hours two other nails cracked. This never happens. The manicure didn't make it a week. I'm disappointed. The staff was incredibly nice, accommodating and courteous... just clearly, their technique isn't up to par. It took over 2 hours for a crappy job and I'm out a pretty penny for a manicure that is supposed to last almost three weeks but isn't. Maybe for regular polish they are good. read more
