Reshma's threading salon is a neighborhood staple. They have been here for years. I haven't seen Reshma there in a very long time but I don't go often, so I can't say whether she is still there or not. Those who are "in the know" usually wait for the more senior/experienced technician if they have a preference. I usually don't mind using whichever person is available next. I really don't need to go as often anymore since I've gotten older. So there is an expression: fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Once before I went in for brow tinting a few weeks before my daughter's wedding. Came out way too dark, and it was pretty shocking for my personal taste, but I am pretty fair, and it did fade over time so it wasn't as dramatic but it took a long time to fade. Well I went again. I did specifically say not too dark several times. I get it, and in their defense, you can't cover grays with a light color. However - between the shaping and tinting, I now look like 2 separate caterpillars have molted over my eye sockets. Just a warning - if you have fair eyebrows, proceed with caution (or don't) do tinting here. read more

I Was looking for a good place for a Brazilian hard wax. I hate going to the branded salons because they are way too expensive and push their products on selling them. Found this hidden gem on francis Lewis Blvd. So just gave it a try. Would love to say that it was a wonderful experience. They made me soo comfortable and trust me it was painless. I used to like this place but after a few bad experiences I am done. For regular threading they are ok. For anything else you should avoid them. I tried their eye lash lift service. My technician took several photos of my face during the process. She asked permission but when you're lying on a table and waiting for someone to apply chemicals to your eye area it feels really hard to say no. It felt like I was there to help her promote her work and not to get a paid service. The end result was equally disappointing as I didn't like the barely there lift. I have gotten the same service elsewhere and seen a dramatic difference in my lashes. After this I decided to just stick to eyebrows. I went back and wanted a wax instead of threading. The result? I ended up with wax burn. My eyelid is red and it stings. Clearly they are not used to working with wax and don't even seem to own tweezers. I give up. So, yeah, steer clear. read more

Thread awayyyy What did I get I got my eyebrows and lip threaded. The lady that did the job was okay. I told her I wanted a clean up. She was boom boom boom! Cleaned up pretty well, not painful. Didn't take long, probably about 15 mins. Environment This place was a bit outside of Flushing NY. Easy to find location. Small storefront with probably 3/4 chairs to work on people. Niceness of the Staff Had minimal talking. Was just wanna do this and done! Plus when she is threading away, she isn't able to talk because she has a thread in her mouth.... Have been coming here for about 4yrs- when I first started coming the workers were very nice & listened to how you want your eyebrows.. recently (the past 6months) they've been having many new employees who are rude- even the regular staff has become less friendly.. the 4yrs I've been coming I get the same clean up.. for some reason a new lady thought to thread one of my eye brows diagonally.. was upset & waited months to regrow the eyebrow.. went back months later to the regular lady- showed her the mistake that was done & said I've been growing it out please don't thread diagonally.. the lady said "oh yeah I see sorry" but continued to cut off my eye brow diagonally- even a child could tell they're completely uneven!!! However, be sure to specify what wax you want whenever you request wax. I've had two sittings where they apply chocolate wax on me (this is the more expensive one) without my request. I adore Reshma's the ladies are friendly and work both quickly and skillfully. Although it gets a bit busy on the weekends I've never waited more than 10 minutes. I came with my daughter today so she could have her eyebrows threaded and her invisible mustache waxed The place was very clean but completely empty. You have to wear a mask to enter, use their hand sanitizer and have your temperature taken before they will put you in a chair. The lady that was working on my daughter was fast, great and efficient........she did a wonderful job. It only cost 13.50, I expected the service to cost more They also have a rewards program. Horrible! I took a chance by going because I saw how many stars it had but don't go! The woman was incredibly rough and burned the crap out of me with wax. I will go to Astoria and go back to my girl Joy! Big mistake! First of all I sat in the last seat and the woman was on the heavy side, was very aggressive and rough. I felt her body weight on me and her threading felt like a slow death! She was also rushing yet no one was waiting on line! I went to get my eyebrows threaded at Reshma yesterday after reading all these good reviews but I left with almost no eyebrows and a sour taste in my mouth. I've done threading before and I usually go to Rani Spa on Bell Blvd but decided to go to Reshma since it was closer to my house. I went in on a Sunday and had to wait about 15 minutes - I didn't have an appointment and I didn't really have anything to do so I didn't mind the wait. When it was finally my turn at the chair, a young looking woman did my eyebrows. I asked her to shape them but made it clear that I did not want to make them thin. Just touch up on my natural shape and clean up on the hair on the bottom. She said okay so I didn't think anything of it. She talked the entire time to another worker, laughing and pausing the threading. I thought it was extremely unprofessional because I was pretty sure they were talking about the previous customer who had just left before I got on the chair. I was also worried because she seemed distracted. Needless to say, when she said she was done, I looked in the mirror and saw a completely different person. My eyebrows were at most 1/2 cm thick.... I gasped in horror and told her I didn't want them this thin...She just blinked at me and said, "I left some hair on top." Dumbfounded and pissed but realizing there was nothing she can do to fix it, I paid and walked out. I will NEVER go to this place again! read more

This is a nice little threading place. I don't go here too often because I don't live nearby and the parking isn't great but my eyebrows always look sexy when I get them done. The guy who owns the place is always really nice to me too, always really friendly unlike other places I've been to. The girls who do your eyebrows don't look bitchy either. DO NOT GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS HERE they said my extensions would come off naturally after 10 days but it's been 21 days and they are still falling off ! Lesson: their price list is not updated and will charge more. I WAS first time customer and LAST. I said I wanted a full face done. I referred to the price list on their wall. She was telling me different prices. I said as a professional biz, they need to honor what is on price list and not change it up. She immediately got defensive and annoyed. I asked to speak with owner. She finally called owner. I spoke with him but unfort, he didnt get my point of being professional, listing what they charge vs changing it up at the last minute. Other staff person said they would honor the $30 listed. As I was crunched for time, I got the service or else I wouldve been out the door asap! Full face wax took forever! Felt like the staff person was out of practice, wax was a bit colder then other places Ive been too. She didnt spread the wax on entire face or thread hairline/forehead properly. I did express my concern. Due to my time constraints, I let it go. Last visit. If the initial staff person didnt have and attitude and listed; and owner simply listened to my point of not making up prices on the spot, they may have had 2nd visit from me. anyhow, hope this is helpful. read more

Amazing salon , I only go to one person Ritu, she is incredible in everything she does. Her threading and facials are definitely the best I've ever had. On the down side , just recently I went in to ask for her but they said that she stopped working there. I don't like getting anything else done from any of the others. This is my go-to spot for threading my eyebrows. My boyfriend actually put me onto this place. It's so convenient because my nail salon is right next door. I've tested out about everyone at the salon and Reshma is definitely the best. I know now to wait for her instead of just going to someone else. I started coming here ever since I started getting my eyebrows threaded. I went around 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend and both the ladies had customers so we waited patiently. One of the ladies was getting annoyed at a customer since the customer was very specific on how she wanted her result so the session took a while. When she was done, the lady asked us if we're both getting our eyebrows done to which we responded yes. But then she got annoyed at me when I said I wanted our eyebrows done by the same person. She then proceeded to speak in her own language about us but made it extremely obvious that she was annoyed and talking about us. I let that go since I'm a regular here and I saw that the lady was annoyed at the previous session. Once we got our eyebrows done, I went to pay. The same lady who was annoyed at the beginning helped us pay. I paid with a $20 bill and asked for my change in one bill since I forgot that I didnt have change. When I remembered, I asked her to break it and she very sarcastically said to me that's why I asked you if you wanted to break the change. At this point, I'm getting annoyed that shes taking her anger out on me. When I tipped the lady for the service, the person who rung us up asked the lady in front of us, "how much did she tip you? Just a dollar off??" I understand that the ladies there didnt have the best day but it doesn't mean it's okay to take their anger out on random customers. When I left and got into the car, I saw realized that my skin actually ended up ripping under my eyebrows which is the first that I've seen it happen.
