Came in on Monday for a brow thread and tint and upper and lower lip thread. The lady was sweet and did a nice job, however, when she was done she proceeded to apply baby oil on my face without asking. Now I'm dealing with a horrific breakout before an important event. Typically, people ask before putting anything on your face after threading. And usually aloe is what's on offer-not baby oil (which is really mineral oil). I'm always nervous about trying a new place when it comes to my eyebrows! I took a chance after reading a few reviews and ended up with great results! Don't let the modest surroundings make you turn away. The woman who did my brows knew what she was doing and was very quick. For $5 I got a nice shape done and it lasted for some time. They offer many other spa services, but I did not try any. They have about 3-4 salon chairs that you can sit in as you tilt your head back and they get to work on your brows. Hands down the best and cheapest place in Jackson Heights for brow threading - it's only $5 (same price for upper lip waxing), and these ladies are super skilled and definitely know what they're doing! I always tell them to keep the shape, and they have never failed to quickly and painlessly achieve a shape that flatters my face. They are true perfectionists, always evaluating the shape and snipping extra hairs or going in again to make sure the brows are super clean and neat; they also check in with you to make sure you are satisfied with the work. So I came to this place by chance, my regular brow spot (gulzar) closes at 7 and this spot closes at 8. I couldn't make it to my regular spot so I decided to give this one a try since the last lady I entrusted with my brows at Gulzar's over threaded one brow. I gave it a try and loved the results. I didn't get the name of the girl who did my eyebrows but hopefully next time I go I will recognize her and update this. She listened to direction well, I always ask them to please not over thread and just give me a clean up with some shape but leave it as thick as possible. She did just as I asked, it would have been 5 stars but they don't do the eyebrow massage like they do at gulzar's. That little extra massage at the end gives me life (lol), just wish they did that here too because then it would have been the ultimate package. But other than that I am definitely making this my go to spot and I am kicking Gulzar's to the curb. Besides this spot is not as crowded and a more serene environment. Same price, 5$. read more

This review is for their threading services only. If you got it, flaunt it.... Or get it threaded. Nilas is by far the best place I've tried for threading. I really like this place for a few reasons: 1. They're dirt cheap, $5 for eyebrows and same for upper lip. 2. They're gentle, I've had many thread jobs and the ones at Nilas are always somehow less painful. 3. They do a great job with eyebrow shape and they never take off too much. They do a great job, but they need to learn the word "no". Whenever I go the girl tries to get me to do a facial. I tell her that I just want my eyebrows done. Then at the end of the threading she puts the mirror in my hand to show me my eyebrows, and to point out my clogged pores that she says would benefit from one of their facials. Its kinda rude, but she does an amazing job on my eyebrows. So I will keep coming back. read more

If you are skeptical because they are $1 to $2 cheaper than other places, don't be. Mind you, I am extremely picky when it comes to my brows. They do a great job and it never feels rushed. i give this place 0 stars if i could!!! I went to go CLEAN my eyebrows and I've been growing out my eyebrows for four months and I specifically told her that. She agreed to only SLIGHTLY clean it, but when she was finished. My eyebrows were TOO thin, she cut off the tail from my left eyebrow and one eye brow is higher than the other. I look so lobsided. This place is easy to miss because it is a small and quiet place. Despite this, the threaders are great. I prefer this place over the one by the 74th/Roosevelt station and the other one that is on the lower level of the "mall" on 37th ave (btw. 74th and 75th st). Nila's has a tranquil ambiance with tons of photos of Aishwarya Rai as beauty inspiration. The threaders also follow direction and remember your eyebrows from the first time. I prefer the younger lady that normally wears her hair in one long braid down her back. Even though she is young, she is one of the threaders that's been there for the longest time. She knows exactly what I want and shapes my eyebrows super quick while being thorough. I am a wimp when it comes to pain. She is very gentle and always starts with the lower part of my left eyebrow because she knows I am most sensitive there and she wants to get that part out of the way so I am not anxious (I never told her about this sensitive spot, but it is something that she has picked up on). All of the threaders are very nice and polite, but very quiet. Do not expect a cozy conversation here. It is mostly all business aside from the initial greeting. Lastly, the price is great. $5 for eyebrows (both for men and women). For the guys, they do not make you look girly (unless you want that) and they are not judgmental (nor are the clientele). The service was great for a $5 brow place. The threading process itself wasn't as painful as other places I've been to and it was fairly quick! I like the fact that my eyebrows were kept thick and cleaned up according to the natural shape of my brow. Having gone to Gulzar's for the past year because of their rave yelp reviews, I was initially hesitant to try Nila's. However, my experience at Nila's was just as good as at Gulzar's, and prices are the same ($5 for eyebrows, $5 for upper lip wax). Walked in and got seated right away. The woman who did my eyebrows was very thorough, getting every last stray hair. Though this made it take a little longer, I didn't mind because the result turned out well.
