I've came to this spa before they moved here. I had my first massage with them 2 years ago and when they finished I felt so light, like I could fly. Sadly, I can't say that about this new location. I've came 2 times to this location and both times I still felt tense when the massage finished. I walked in today to get a full body massage and the lady was hurting me. I felt like she doesn't even know where pressure points are. I know some massages hurt if they are trying to get out knots or I have tense muscles. But the lady was just pressing down and using her forearm to roll with no consistence where my tensions are. She pressed and rolled so hard on me I had to tell her twice, it's hurting me and I'm in pain. To where she only just lighten the pressure she was putting down and didn't lessen the tightness I was feeling. What she did to my left side, she also didn't even do to my right side. She worked more on my left than my right side of my body. Yeah, the price is decent but what they do here you can literally tell your partner to do for you at home. The masseuse are inconsistent. When I came the first time the lady I got was very friendly and talkative and was willing to work in areas where I felt most tightness. However, today the lady didn't talk. Didn't ask. Or even bother to see how she can better the service when I told her I was in pain. Instead she just pressed softly and never got my tightness out. On to the facial, the front desk was pretty pushy with the service so I was already turned off. This was around the holidays so she pushed the buy1 bogo deal for a more expensive service and told me I can just come back another day for the second one. Of course when we called to come back they did not honor it because we didn't remember the membership ID, but they couldn't look up the phone number even though we knew exactly what day the package was purchased in their system. The lady then said she would need more time to look it up because their system is too outdated and would call me back the next day, which they did not. Best Spa is my friend's favorite affordable massage spot in the area so they actually made reservations for the four of us to come here before dinner. I hear they get pretty busy and there's limited spacing and staffing so reservations are recommended. The call was a bit challenging with some language barriers. We hit some traffic getting out of the city and we struggled finding parking but the business was super understanding since we called them and gave them a heads up. The location is on the 2nd floor so we took an elevator up. Upon entering their space, we were given house slippers with a disposable pad to change out of our dirty shoes. They also gave us a locker to place our belongings. It was weird because they gave us girls one locker to share and there were plenty of lockers. Shorts are also available for you to change into if you'd like. One of my friends got the 60 min Body Works ($40) and three of us got the 60 min Foot Rub ($35). All of their masseuse seem to be male. It was cute for the three of us who got the foot rub since we went into a room with exactly three chairs. The foot rub started out with a quick neck and shoulder massage while we soaked our feet. They placed towels over our hair and our shirts so there was so contact. Then the foot rub began with them taking one foot out at a time from the foot soak to rub and massage our feet with soap and polished our heels. This step was different for me as a foot spa experience since I have not experienced this soaping back in LA/OC or even the foot spas in San Jose, Dallas, Vegas or Seattle. It was a nice surprise. Then they washed off both feet super clean before they went on with the massage oil. They alternatives between my right foot and my left foot, instead of doing one in completion and then the other. I actually like that. There was also more calved focus than usual. Towards the end there is even a hot stone and then hot towel finale to clean you off from the products used during the service. I had Eric and he was great. From what I can tell all three of them were pretty uniformed with their process so they much be trained to execute the massages the same. There was even a timer to ensure you get your full 60 minutes. The time does bot start until you begin the service so the time arriving and changing in the lockers does not take away from your service time. I'm not sure if it's cash only or if we just instinctively had cash for the service. It is pretty typical for this type of establishment to be cash only. Please tip your masseuse well because these type of staff relies heavily on tip to make a living and that's why it's so affordable. Starting Jan 18, 2021 they will request a negative Covid-19 report from customers. They are taking Covid-19 very seriously, going above and beyond to be sanitary (namely by spraying sanitizer everywhere). I got a 90 minute body massage that was amazing. Hadn't gotten one in at least a couple years, and have certainly had a lot of pent up stress in my shoulders, neck, and back from hunching over a desk most days. The masseuse knew to target that area. For the uninitiated, the protocol at this place is to switch out your shoes for their sandals at the entrance, change into their spa clothes and deposit all your belongings in a locker (you can keep that key with you), lie face down on the table after removing your top. They'll cover you with a towel, so it's mostly discreet. If you wear makeup they try to be careful to work around that (but I'd advise not to wear makeup and jewelry). Masks are kept on. Also, tips should be handed to your masseuse directly. Personally, next time I'd ask for more focus on my back and less pressure/time on my biceps and legs. Today I came here again as usual because I wanted to focus on my calves massage. I did 1 hour massage and I told him to that I need where to focus on it. So I said 20% and the women who alway stay and payment process that acting like think a moment and said how about $10 because he couldn't eat for my massage. Yes I'm not a problem to giving it but why it is my fault that he couldn't eat because of my massage that I have to give over 20% tip? When I called I asked what time available, she said "anytime I can match for you" then shouldn't say about food or do it what customer asking for. The slippers have a disposable lining, and when they lead you to the locker room to change, the locker you're given is sprayed down with alcohol first. I had Mary as a masseuse for 60 mins bodywork + 30 mins foot massage. She was so professional, and I felt so at ease throughout my whole massage. We reserved the one hour massage and 100 minute best spa signature facial, but the lady recommended the 70 minute enhance facial treatment with a 30 minute massage instead for $138. The spa is located on the second floor and can be accessed by the elevator or stairs. We were given slippers, an outfit and a locker to store our personal belongings. My session started with an essential oil massage. Cindy was very strong and applied a lot of pressure. At the beginning she showed me the timer and pressed it. After the massage, she started with the facial. The steam was not placed in front of my face or my chest so I'm not sure how open my pores were. I felt some solution was applied in circular motions then a suction was used to remove it. I did not receive any pore extractions either. Afterwards she placed some rags until they hardened and showed me the finished product. She also sprayed some stuff which kind of left my face smelling like a wet rag. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a facial but do recommend coming for a massage. The happy hour is from 10:30am to 1:30pm. Change seating to the massage chair and lay back, there's a hole for your head or if you're short (5'1" and under) prepare to try to sit higher. 2) They exfoliate your feet up with a scrub up to your ankles. Then wash your feet in the water. This may be ticklish for some. While they exfoliate one they keep the other one nice and toasty in the water. So considerate. 3) Massage starts, add lotion to both feet first then they keep one leg and foot under a blanket to keep it from getting cold while it's still a little tiny bit damp from only being wiped. Super considerate. Also the lotion isn't from a tub, it's from a bottle with a pump so there's no contamination. 4) During massage there's a lot of rubbing small areas and also pushing blood flow up the foot to just below the knee. The foot massage is located in the back of where they do body massages. Very quiet relaxing dimmly lit environment with calm music. The massage rooms are full but no one is talking or making any noises. Feels like you're just there by yourself while I just enjoyed the massage. This is my first foot massage at Best Spa and Leo was my masseuse, he usually does full body for my bf and is his preferred choice. But this time I went alone. If you're gonna get a foot massage, most likely it'll be a male masseuse. I. My conclusion is that I'll definitely come back for a feet massage again. This place is super clean and considerate as always. Also I booked last minute. I booked at 2ish for a 5pm same day appt. But they said 6pm availability only and I took it. They were so busy and packed that my sister and I had to use the same locker which wasn't an issue considering our closeness AND especially how late we booked.
