It was cool. I wasn't sure what to expect z I came because I wanted a Korean spa experience especially a body scrub. The front door explain the entrance fee but when I asked questions about the other services the woman was a little abrupt and rude. I mean whatever I asked she mentioned the fee. I told her I know and I guess she wanted that fee before I realize the massage is really bodywork. I told her it is my first time here. I wanted to leave but stayed because i traveled so far and I wasn't in the mood to find somewhere else. It was my birthday. Anyhow I pay get my uniform go to lockers. I noticed the sign and picture of two thieves and others about lost towel and key fees. Anyway the locker room plays Korean drama and attendants are the ones who sell the other services. I lounged around in the coed area and then tried every steam and sauna for 20 minutes. I walked around in my socks. It was pretty quiet and peaceful . It wasn't full of people either. I go to the front desk to ask if there are slides or slippers. My feet got really hot in the sauna I was wearing socks . One must either be in socks or barefoot. I asked him about the additional services and he said the women in the locker rooms do those. The woman in the locker room are the "masseuse " or "esthetician" in a sense. Before entering the wet room (one removes their spa uniform showers ) before using the jacuzzi steam room and cold plunge. Ok so I decided to get the Korean body scrub and massage. The body scrub was better than the massage. I braced myself each time I was rinsed with water. A basin of water gets thrown on you. The massage included a facial and I appreciate her massaging my stomach where I tend to get fibroids. The facial left my skin glowing . Overall i probably won't go back but i feel encouraged to check out higher end spas and treat myself more. I think these spas are good for sauna unless your gym has one. It was an ok value. Somewhat frustrating experience here. I came here specifically to get a massage and a body scrub. I called before and you can't make a reservation. So, I come and was told even once iam there I can't make a reservation, that I need to speak to Mr. Kim downstairs. So many questions. Who is Mr. Kim? What does he look like? Where is he located? I go downstairs and turns out he's with a customer. I go to the 2nd floor, try the saunas for a bit, get ansy and then check if Mr. Kim is available. He's with someone else. At this point it's completely unclear how to get on the list for a massage, and time is running out so I just leave. The 2nd floor was interesting mix of cold and hot saunas and rest areas. A great place to destress. I noticed men only get two small face towels and a change of clothes for the co-ed section. Women get an additional white long towel. You'll start off in the separated, nude only pool section. There is a heated, lukewarm, and cold pool. I enjoy alternating between the heated and cold pool, then end with the lukewarm. Here you can also order a scrub to get rid of your dead skin. There's also a steam and dry sauna. Next you'll go upstairs, get a snack or meal. My party ordered a bibimbap ($18) and spicy squid ($22). I enjoyed it, but my partner thought it was just okay/decent. After, we laid on the reclining chairs to rest up and digest before we headed to the saunas. There are four hot saunas and an ice room. Each room has around 4ppl max capacity. Cleanliness wasn't 100%, there was a dead gnat in the pool and a chunk of long hair landed on my leg in one of the pools. Some stains on the towels as well. Very disappointing experience today. While drying my hair, the hair dryer started short-circuiting and sparks came from the outlet. I was terrified. Staff took the dryer away without even apologizing, as if it was normal. When I mentioned it at the front desk, they showed no concern. My scrub service was fine, but the technician aggressively pressured me to send a tip through Zelle and would not leave me alone until I did. My first time here. I like it here. It's not as big or let's say King Spa or Island Spa in NJ but this is Queens and space is premium. The entrance is actually in the back and there is free parking as well. The garage is underground and it's tight as far as space goes but there is parking available. The lobby is where you check in and get your uniforms, towels, and wristbands. You have to leave and ID as well. No shoes past this point and they have shelves where you can either leave your shoes or put them in plastic bag(provided) and take them into the locker room with you. The locker rooms and the massage room are downstairs. Seperated by gender, the mens area has plenty of lockers and some benches and sinks outside of the showers and spa. The spa area has stand showers as well as seated ones, a steam room, sauna, and three hot tubs with different temperatures The upstairs has the common areas with saunas, an ice room, laser room, TV room and another TV area. There are plenty of lazy chairs around as well. The "cafeteria" is also here with a dining area. They have all types of Korean cuisine. A little pricey I thought but the food was decent. This was a good budget version of what you can find at other more well known Korean spas in the area, such as King Spa in Palisades NJ. This was much smaller and had fewer amenities. The vibe was less decadent and more utilitarian. The food was delicious though. My main complaint was how loud and rude the other customers were, especially in the upstairs sauna and warm rooms areas. I had to wear headphones just to relax and I was bumped into multiple times by the same loud kids while I was laying still. Staff should be dealing with this kind of rude behavior if they want to create a relaxing environment that should be expected at any spa. read more

Going to spas is definitely what I look forward to after long weeks of stress. This place for the value I suppose is good but it's not my favorite spa in Queens. Their entry fee at this time is $35 which is fair and they give you a bracelet with a key to use to lock up your belongings in the locker. I felt like the baths and saunas in the locker room didn't look too clean which kind of turned me away but I still got into them. They have around 3 hot small baths and 1 cold bath and 2 saunas. The back area is where you can get a massage and Korean scrub. I got a Korean scrub with a 30 minute massage and I really enjoyed it. For the price, I would probably get it again. I found the eating area and saunas on the upstairs floor to be much nicer than the basement. They have around 6 saunas, lounge chairs to relax or take a nap. They aren't "scheduled" so you'll have to wait until someone calls you over. I'd recommend coming early. The food options are great. The menu has a variety of korean dishes and they ranged from $16-$20. I ordered the tteokguk, rice came soup, and it came with banchan. It was delicious and warming. I also tried shik hye for the first time, a sweet rice drink. theres no quiet area really. The cafeteria is not separated from the lounge chairs. Also, it gets extremely warm and doesnt seem to be any ventilation. When i got really warm, i'd go to the cold room. I visited the cold room several times. At one point, the cold room seemed to be melting. And the ceiling could use some love. Overall, if you need a quick getaway and arent able to go to King Spa, It doesnt hurt coming here. The bad: while we were in the steam room, an employee dumped bleach into the pools. Nobody told us or put any kind of sign up. It must have been a LOT of bleach. My friend and I noticed something slimy and slightly irritating, but both of us chalked it up to a long day in hot temperatures. Suddenly, everything started to burn and we ran to the showers. My legs and feet are still irritated an hour later, even after scrubbing them in the shower. Pretty shocking. I told the employee when I was leaving and he seemed to be surprised but not overly concerned. Very unsafe. I was worried about the people I saw get into the tub after. Downgraded to one star because I just realized that I REEK of bleach even after a very long shower. Astonishing. Had to take another long shower when I got home and am applying Vaseline to my irritated skin. Second update: I've taken two more showers and I still get wafts of bleach. Came here on mother's day. I called the day before to make a reservation. I was told a reservation was not necessary. So, I got up, got ready and looked forward to my experience. Unfortunately, upon arrival we (my friend & I) were told that we could pay the $30 admission fee but would not be able to get any of the services. I want to give this establishment a chance, so I'm going to go and have lunch and try again later. It's later and I'm updating Well like promised Jane called while we were having dinner. We finished dinner and headed to the spa. This is one of the most relaxing experiences in one of the cleanest establishments with everyone working there focused and courteous and professional service. We entered and paid the $30 admission fee and was given a towel, washcloth and uniform rolled in a paper wrapper. We also received a key with a bar code to be used to pay for services. Before entering the spa, you must remove your shoes and either place them on the shelving at reception or your locker. The floor is heated and that was a pleasant surprise. We went down to our assigned locker undressed and showered. The hot and cool pool was heavenly (if you're getting a scrub, I'd recommend doing that first for best results). For the scrub you lay on a plastic covered table and warm water is splashed on you. The attendant then proceeded to scrub away dead skin I didn't realize I had. When she finished my skin was glowing and soft like a babies bottom (literally!) Next time I'll add the massage which includes an oil rub with hot towels. I can't wait! After the scrub we put on the comfortable uniform and went upstairs. There were lounge chairs, a salt, mineral, Jewelry and ice room. I have mixed feelings about this spa, but overall, I would be back. I liked that they had additional rooms upstairs, it was overall decently clean, and I appreciated that they had food and drink options for sale upstairs. I could see how someone could stay a long time in the upstairs area and get more of their monies worth. I had to leave after a few hours but would have stayed longer otherwise, especially in the chill room! So onto the bad, I don't like how this spa nickel and dimes you after you pay an admission fee. They provide 1 small hand towel and a regular sized towel, any additional towels are an extra charge. You're in a bath house, your towel will likely get wet, it seems unfair and cheap to me that I'd be charged extra for a dry towel if I wanted to use one after my services were done. They also charge for things like tooth brushes, which bothers me less, but all bath houses I've gone to before this provided towels, tooth brushes, snacks, tea, etc. for free as part of admission. If you want any add on services, like a massage or scrub, you must speak with the employees directly inside the bath areas. This means it's really hit or miss on how long you'll need to wait for your service, I would much more appreciate the option to book an appointment, even if that means holding a card for a cancellation fee, than to wait an hour plus for a scrub. I had a scrub done and I felt like the person who scrubbed me paid more attention to my front than back, which is odd for me because I want the focus to mainly be in my back and shoulders, areas I can't reach. She was very kind though. There were 3 pools for the women to use, a "hot", a "Warm", and a cold option. I put the hot and warm words in quotes because they were the same temperature and it was really too hot in my opinion. I wish there was a neutral option but they were both in the 100F+ degree zone. Additionally, the water felt nasty, like they had put too much epsom salt in it, it felt like walking in sludgy water and I could feel a sand texture as well. Their sauna in the women's nude area was working overboard, to the point where the steam made it impossible to see anything. I typically love saunas and burning hot showers and baths, but this was too much. The rooms upstairs were a lot more comfortable temperature wise. I'm sad to write this review but unfortunately, I can't say I feel comfortable visiting this establishment anymore. I've been a long time customer for almost a decade now. Its nothing fancy, but it did the job of a Jjimjilbang. The price has since risen to $40 for entry, yet there have been no added benefits. The spa as a whole, and especially the wet areas, could use a bit of a renovation considering the yearly price hikes. The kitchen has also become prohibitively expensive. Certain rest rooms have become closed off and used as supply storage rooms. Value for your dollar has diminished. These problems could all be glanced over, but the real issue is that in the last year or so, there has been an influx of unscrupulous folk using the facilities as their sexual meeting place. I understand that the spa cannot completely prevent these folks from visiting in the first place. They can, however, prevent them from returning if they catch them misbehaving. Signs are posted around the wet bath area stating that any sexually misbehaving patron will be permanently banned. Based on my last visit, I confirmed that the spa is not enforcing this rule. In the wet bath area, sauna, and steam room; I witnessed the miscreants creepily oggling other patrons, inappropriately touching each other, and even masturbating. Keep in mind that this spa is open to families and even children were present during this incident. Several patrons reported this to staff; to the spa's credit, the staff member promptly instructed the man to leave. However, when I later addressed the matter and asked the staff if the man was permanently banned, they responded that he has not. I find it unacceptable that the spa disregarded their policy and would allow this man or any other sexual offender to visit again. This spa is clean, relaxing, and comfortable with excellent staff. The saunas upstairs are well kept. The food is somewhat overpriced, but if people pay those prices, it means the owner is a good businessman. The men's water therapy, steam, and sauna are perfect. It is nudity required, so guys better be comfortable naked around other guys. I've been to the jimjilbangs in Korea and the onsen in Japan, so it doesn't bother me in the least. I attend this spa frequently because the steam room and hot water baths are excellent for the implants in my legs and the tendon deficiency in my feet. Everyone is pleasant, friendly, and respectful. I go from the showers to the baths to the steam and to the sauna and back to the showers along with many other naked guys and have never seen any of the inappropriate conduct mentioned in some other posts. At worst, some guys glance at what I've got for a few seconds. I take it as a compliment. Some guys are paranoid. For example, I saw a man turn his head to see where his water bottle was, and a paranoid guy got angry and said: "What the f... are you looking at? Stop staring at me." However, there was no staring. The customer needed 2 seconds with his eyes to grab his bottle of water near where the paranoid guy was sitting. I hope the paranoid guy gets the help he needs. There is psychiatric medicine for that. Nobody is staring, and nobody is doing inappropriate actions. New York Spa and Sauna is the closest thing you will get to a jimjilbang in Korea. She was tapping with her hand and barely putting in any effort during a 40 minute massage. I am divided on the score. I loved the rooms on the second floor. The temperature ranged from freezing in the ice room to a high of 168 in the heated rooms. The rooms were a nice size held 3-4 individuals. In the resting area outside the rooms the floors were heated and i found the mats to rest on sufficient. There was a separate tv room that was closed. They did have reclining chairs that allowed yiu to sleep in quiet or in another area allowed one waych tv. What i did not like was the individuals that were in the pool and saina area for men. I have been spas in Korea and onsen in Japan. I never have never felt like I was stared at sexually. While in shower in wet area I had more eyes following me than i cared for I did not care but just had a creepy feeling. There is signage no touching yourself or others and masturbation. They need better monitoring as i went wet sauna guy came in looked my way started touching self. I go into bathroom sign said one to stall. Someone comes in goes into next stall and started moaning and masturbating. I liked the bath pools as temperatures grom 75 to 108. Dry and steam sauna was great. The resturant the prices were about what other spas charge. It will always cost more than on the outside so expect that. The place does need minor maintiance done. Lounge chairs on second floor are worn out. The towels they give are to small and hard on skin. They charge you 5usd to rent a white long bath towel. In the future bringing my own. I did like they had disposable razors and toothbrushes plus shaving creme and toothpaste for free. The staff i did encounter was extremly friendly and helpful. Went to NYC for Thanksgiving and had to hit up New York Spa Sauna. I came from our Times Square hotel by taking the 7 express and then a taxi to the front door. When you enter, they have a place up front for your shoes and socks. I paid my $35 for the spa pass and got my two SMALL towels and my co-Ed area clothes. FYI- If you've never done a Korean Spa, nudity is enforced in the gendered wet areas. Going down to the bottom floor, I found the men's wet area easily. Got to my locker, got undressed, took a shower, and proceeded. Feedback: 1. The "lukewarm" pool was 105-106 degrees. The "hot" pool was 107. It would have been nice for the lukewarm pool to be more lukewarm. 2. The railing for the steps going up to the cold pool and upper level were duck taped and extremely loose. Be careful! 3. It would have been nice for one of the towels to be full size. Bring your own! 4. Beware the steam room. When you enter, don't sit on the left. It's beside the steam vent. When it turns on, it'll burn you if you aren't careful. What I loved: 1. Seems to have a great community. 2. Didn't run into any rude people. 3. The price was perfect- $35 4. the facility appears to be clean. They do not provide any sandals or flip flops for foot hygiene. Fungal infections on foot and toe nails are very difficult and expensive to treat. The medications are often ineffective and toxic to our bodies. We know most people infected by fungal infection from the public shower and the saunas. I brought my own slippers and they wouldn't allow it. So I left. Most sauna which cares about hygiene would provide foot protection or allow you to bring your own. Lovely local spa with a handful of different saunas. My girlfriends and I enjoyed lunch and a few hours here sweating and chatting. For the price and location it's not bad but for 5-6 dollars more and the cost of toll (coming from queens) you could go to king spa for a better experience. However the food here is better than king spa and ever meal set comes with seaweed soup so unless you're really craving only seaweed soup you should probably try something else. The meal sets are about 16-20 dollars each. The drinks are a little pricy but the eggs were reasonable and very tasty. I still like the eggs at king spa better but this place is a lot closer and they have a small park king lot in the basement. The spa itself is OK but when you add disorganization and little to no enforcement of the etiquette rules, the spa doesn't warrant a repeat visit. Pro-tip: Do not pay for any services upfront. If possible, pay after you've received the service. The staff is very reluctant to acknowledge mistakes and other shortcomings. This is not a high customer service facility. Another point of contention, there's very threatening signs everywhere, yet nothing is enforced. People are talking in every corner, with blatant cell phone use and the kitchen is in the main common area. This means washing dishes, cooking food and general boisterous conversation echos throughout the entire floor. Not much of an escape from city life. I came to relax and it's just not that kind of place. Lots of children on youtube, people chattering, and tight quarters so even light chatter isn't so quiet. This place is not good at all. I would give them no star but couldn't. I went there a couple month ago; I booked a full body massage and scrub treatment. During the first session of my body treatment, the masseuse kept talking to her colleagues. What really made me angry was, in the middle of the second section, I heard male voices and ask the masseuse what was going on. Then she told me the FDNY is here for a site inspection. She threw some towels on me and tell me to lie there. I yelled back at her for asking me to lie in the nude under those dirty towels. I asked her to get me a robe and left immediately. Five stars alone for the lady who did my 30min scrub! I've gotten countless korean scrubs in Korea, Los Angeles, and Orange County (CA) and the lady who did mine was definitely top tier! She was so thorough and I felt so squeaky clean afterward. People unfamiliar with a Korean type scrub should know that it's not elegant in any way. You are naked on a plastic lined bed getting scrubbed from head to toe with a rough hand towel. The lady will have you switch positions from lying flat, side to side, and on your stomach every 5 mins or so. She will reposition your legs and arms so she can scrub every nook and cranny. Just let her move you around! You might end up a little bit raw with mild petechiae but that's ok! I will probably be returning every month to revisit her. read more

I really liked this place, and it reminded me a lot of the places I've been to in LA! They have many types of rooms to lay down and enjoy in, I always love the clay room! Classic Korean day spa. The baths and scrub were great. I don't haven't to enjoy the rest. Immaculately clean.

Take a look at the way the business owner responds to critical feedback here. That kind of culture is top down and trust me when I say that the staff at this place are no different. The staff are incredibly rude and short tempered. I understand clientele can play a role in creating a stressful work environment that no one wants to be at, but that's no reason for perfectly normal and well adjusted customers to have to deal with discourteous behavior. If the staff cannot differentiate between unreasonable Karens and normal polite customers, I cannot recommend this place to anyone I know personally. Stay away if that sounds like something you wouldn't like. read more
