Yesterday, I sprained my right knee when I tripped and fell on the High Line. I was in excruciating pain. Rather than head to the emergency room and wait for hours, I came here. There was no wait (it was a Monday afternoon. It's possible that it would be busier on weekends). I used Google Translate to write instructions in Mandarin Chinese. I wrote that my right knee hurts and to only massage my right knee. At first, the masseuse massaged my feet and both of my knees. After I repeated the instructions, she listened. She did it to perfection. The actual massage was excellent. The 90 minute session cost $65 (which is much cheaper than in Manhattan). I gave the masseuse a $45 tip. My only complaint is that while I was getting a massage, the other masseuses were having a loud conversation in Chinese. If you're looking for a quality massage at a reasonable price then come here. I had called the spa and spoke to someone to set up an appointment for myself and my husband for 90-minute massages (I called half an hour prior to the appointment time). The person on the phone (male) confirmed that there were spots at the allotted time. However, when we arrived (after making us wait already for 10 minutes), they told us they could only take one of us and the other would have to wait almost an hour. When I asked them "why did you confirm that there were two available slots for 90-minute massages over phone then?", to which they just responded "Sorry, a lot of people came in right before you came in. Can you come back later?". We just walked out in disgust. It was very unprofessional. What's the point of making an appointment if they won't honor the time of appointment? They should have told the people that came in after that there were no spots currently and that THEY should come back at another time, not the people who actually made an appointment. Needless to say, I'm not giving this place any more business (hoping this post will help others not waste their time if they go to Asian Spa thinking they have a reserved time slot and then they give your spot away). read more

So, I'm completely disappointed with this place. My friend brought me here highly recommending it since it's so close to home. I normally go to Flushing for my massages or to Rego Park. I've never felt so cheated in my life and I'm still kicking myself for being swindled like this. I feel even worse for my friend who has a membership here and got jipped by the employees when we paid. My friend and I both got a 90 minute massage which as of 10/1 is $65 without membership. Normally and I've never ever had any other spa do this-if you have a membership, for two 90 min massages which is 3 hours, they will deduct 3 hours from the 10 hour membership. This was not the case. They said that their 60 minute membership which is $40/hr does not apply to their 90 minute membership which which is $55 for 90 minutes which ends up being $37/hr. They insisted that we needed to pay FULL PRICE and my friend can use her membership that she purchased before the price increase for $32/hour as cash. So not only did they not let her use the membership they ripped her off $8/hour for each hour they deducted. I specifically asked the guy if we should pay cash or use the membership and if there's any price difference and he said not much. Total BS. I hope they're happy they lost a new customer and a loyal customer. Good job!! Don't bother going here. Honestly I've been getting massages for 15 years and I've never felt the urge to go to the closer location. Not worth this terrible feeling of being conned. End of the day, they made $34 more from us. Is it worth it? I will never come back here again and I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Same price as Rego Beauty Spa which is my new go to place. Less grungy and service is excellent. I came here for an after-workout massage. The waiting room was full of people who appeared to be employees or perhaps friends and family. They all stared at me as soon as I walked in. A strange experience, but fortunately, that was the low point of the visit. The massage room was a fairly typical room. Somewhat barebones. Soft music playing. I could hear the group in the waiting room hanging out and chatting. The door had a clear glass or plastic window, which is unusual. I went for a 60 minute body massage. The massage itself was fine. It was a deep tissue massage, which is the only style of body massage that they offer. My masseuse asked if I wanted strong or medium pressure, and I indicated medium. Medium turned out to be somewhat lighter than an average deep tissue or shiatsu massage. I assume strong would have been more typical. Hot oil and stones were a part of this massage. Their technique was fine. Maybe one or two small technical mistakes where some motions were performed on one side but not the other. During the massage, someone (not my masseuse) opened and closed the door briefly, probably to check whether the room was occupied. What was the point of that window? $38 for a 1 hour massage isn't bad. There are plenty of massage places that charge 2-3 times as much, and that gets you a quieter, more relaxing environment. If you're looking for zen, solitude, meditation, etc, you'll have to find a spa that's charging north of $80/hr. We've spa's at the Four Seasons and at the hole in the walls of Thailand and this is exactly what's needed if you need a massage (without the fluff and added expense of a slow paced and zen spa). I've probably been here 7-8 times, because I live nearby and the price is super cheap. I really wish I could keep going to this place due to the convenience, but unfortunately, you get what you pay for. After my last experience, I decided I needed to find a new spa. Main issues: Like others have said, it's SUPER loud. The last time I went, there was a kid screaming in the entryway, an entire family having a conversation at the top of their lungs and workers talking as well. Impossible to fully relax in such an atmosphere. But what really did it for me was noticing the lack of hygiene. Pretty sure they re-use bedding (the blankets do not seem to be fresh and appear to be reused between clients). This is especially gross because, at times, they massage your (naked) body *with* the blanket. Oh, and did I mention that there's a sour smell in the place? The other thing I noticed concerns the wet towel they use to wipe you down.. last time I was there, I could hear them toss the towel on the floor in the middle of my massage.. then they toweled me down again.. apparently with the SAME towel. I did not observe the massage therapist leave the room to get a fresh towel. Disgusting.. I definitely felt dirty after my massage and had to take a long hot shower. Won't be coming back. read more

although i do appreciate a fair priced and decent massage, my biggest dislike about the place is the fact that the front desk area doesn't have a partition separating the massage rooms - in turn, it gets very noisy when new customers walk in. in addition, all the staff have a tendency to speak to each other while they're providing the massage. all of this makes it very hard to relax. when it comes to the massage however, it is satisfactory. they do take their time and consideration for each client. if i could somehow pop in headphones, that would solve the issue but that also gets quite uncomfortable. so if you don't mind noise while getting a massage, definitely go here. otherwise, there are plenty of others to try within the area. read more

I was so excited to try this place after visiting two similar massage locations in the neighborhood, especially because of how late they are open. I called and asked the price for a one-hour massage and was told $38. I came, got the massage and it was okay. Not the best in the world but for under $40, I had no real complaints and was prepared to be a regular customer since I get massages once a week. Here's where it went downhill. At check out, I handed the woman who massaged me two twenty-dollar bills and she gave me back two dollars. Great. I'm still all smiles, I put my two dollars away and pull out a $5 dollar bill that I handed to her as a tip. She takes it, looks at it, her smile quickly fades and and she said, "It's ten dollars." I was confused. So I ask, "What is ten dollars?" She repeats, "It's ten dollars." Now I'm incredibly confused because I could not believe that she was apparently specifying how much I tip. I said, "I do not understand. I got a one-hour massage and was told it is $38." She goes, "Yeah," and proceeds to point to a price list behind her and goes, "for $38 its ten dollars." Now I'm standing there in even more disbelief that someone is legitimately telling me how to spend my money after I already paid for the service I came for. A woman who appeared to be more senior to her started inquiring in another language what the issue was and from the back and forth, I could tell the woman just told her to let it be. Next thing I know, she has the biggest and brightest smile again and says, "It's okay." In utter disbelief, I gathered my things, walked out of that door and will never return. I even had to do the math on the way home. The customary rule for massage tips that I am aware of is 15 to 20 percent. Fifteen percent of $38 is $5.70 and 20 percent of $38 is 7.60. Either way, I still cannot wrap my head around a flat out demand for a $10 tip with a back and forth discussion on top of that. All that to say, for an extra $5, they lost my guaranteed $38 business that would've been a standard once a week minimum. I'm disgusted. read more

Discovered this new massage spa when I went to check when the new Target (old Barnes & Nobles) was opening. It's right next to the Biu Bella or across from the Post office. There were coupons outside and they offer other Asian specialities such as cupping and scraping. They're traditional Chinese feng shui and holistic practices. I got a voucher for my dad because he's been looking for a place that does it. I walked in to inquire about their services and whether they need an appointment, for regular massages they don't need reservations but for the cupping and scraping, they do. I've been to M Spa just around the corner, so it's similar. Low cost massages, not licensed but it serves its purpose. It's clean cuz it's new, each room is brightly lit. The walls don't go up all the way so you can hear other people being beaten, I mean massaged. The doors are slide closed and there's a one-way (I think?) window for you to see out? I sure would hope it's one way and that no one can walk by seeing if someone is changing inside. It's the same deal as M Spa, except a few bucks more. $38 for one hour. They apply a thin tissue cover on the massage table, masseuses use their full body strength by getting on the table to apply pressure points. So don't expect a swedish massage, and personal space. At some point, they're crotch will be right over your head. They provide a towel to cover your body, and also use hot stones near the end of the massage for about 10 mins. Then they wipe you down with a hot towel to remove the oil. Don't expect full privacy, as I mentioned the walls are low but this place looks clean so far. read more

Honestly. I'm not one to write a bad review but I really had to. I've been there 2 times. The first time was good but the last time, which was yesterday was terrible. I went with my sister and we wanted to get a massage. The ladies we wanted weren't in so we decided to try the other people. I'm not ganna say names because it's messed up, but me and my sister left feeling sick, violated, and nauseous. They kept patting majority of the time and barely massaging. They kept using their finger tips and left us feeling bruised rather than using the palms of their hands. One of them even farted during the massage !!!!!!! This is beyond unacceptable and the most unprofessional thing I have ever witnessed and I've been getting massages for years and have never experienced this. She lowered the blanket very low to my legs and I was exposed and she kept massaging me and moving me and I was just so uncomfortable. Usually I fall asleep during massages because they are so relaxing, but all I kept thinking was when will this be over. It was a complete waste of money I can't believe I even left paying !!!
