I've been here three times and each experience was wildly different. Let me start with the most recent visit (9/24). I called ahead and specified "focus on my neck and shoulders." Owner told the masseuse and I reiterated the same thing. The masseuse was awful. She picked up her phone two times and had a 2-3 minute conversation. She was rubbing my body and not putting any pressure into any of the muscles. She never checked in with "is it too hard/soft? Do you want me to focus on any area?" And finally, I provided a $10 tip(25%) on a $40 massage. She spoke to the owner who stated "it is customary to provide at least $15 tip for foot massages and $20 for a body massage." The foot massage is $25/hour and the body massage is $40/hour. So you want me to tip 50%?!?! My only tip- DON'T GO. They advertise as $40 but they expect you to tip $20 more. So $60 for a subpar massage?!? I've been there two previous times and I have a $10 and $15 tip and no one said anything. read more

I always walk by this place so I decided to go in the other day and treat myself. It seemed decent so instead of just a foot massage I also decided to get a regular body massage as well. The only thing that divides the rooms are half partitions and a curtain. The room I was in was towards the back and there was a gentleman next to me, I only know that because he was heaving towards the end of his sessions, I don't know what was going on in there but I was definitely grossed out because I'm sure he got a happy ending. I pay for my services and the masseuse complains that I didn't tip enough and the woman in the front tells me because there prices are so cheap she asked me to tip a little more which was so tacky and I did but after thinking about it I shouldn't have and should have just walked out. There are plenty of other places that charge the same in this area that I have gone to and have NEVER been harassed to give more for a tip. I won't ever go back here!! Got another massage, and I'll admit, I don't think I'm ever going anywhere else. This time around they were up front about $35 cost plus $20 tip, which beats any other massage in the area giving the quality, treatment, and how nice they are. I came here for the third time and although I did enjoy my massage, I got harassed not once but 3 times from the lady in the front about the tip. She demanded different amounts of money from me and my three friends the first time I went . The second time she did the same thing after giving a $15 dollar tip she demanded more which is very unprofessional. The third time she demanded $20 or more for tip even though my massage was mediocre and she harassed us and even pushed my friend and grabbed him like a psycho. I will never come back here again . You just lost 5 customers by your actions . We also heard moaning in the back and she got very scared when we said we would call the cops. This is my first time at Relax Spa. The spa had a relaxing vibe. I had an amazing massage from Anna. I have a lot of pain and stiff muscles and joints in my neck, back, shoulders, hips and knees. Anna found all of my sore spots without me telling her. She massaged them until my tight muscles were loosened up. I would not recommend this spa to someone needs to relax. I don't think their masseuse knows the policy for being a massage therapist, or they're not even have any license to perform a massage here in NY. No proper training they did not listen to the customer concern for body pain she put toooooo much oil at my back and my legs that is the reason why she doesn't have any pressure to give. Poor customer service begging for additional tip which is 20% is enough for the service. I have been going there for the past three years on an almost weekly basis. I find every staff member to be totally professional. I usually get a 90 minute massage and I tip well since they do not charge much for their service. I usually tip at least $30 dollars. It is very strenuous work. I give them a lot of credit. I have tried massaging my wife a few times and I get tired after 5 minutes. Over the past six months, I have started to also get a 60 minute foot massage. I have arthritic knee pain and there are times that I go in limping with pain and come out walking normally. I have seen some of the complaints that people post and they try to base their tip on a percentage of the service. I believe that the intention of the Spa owners is that they keep prices low and the customer gives at least a $20 per hour tip. It is well worth it. Many western massage therapists charge over $100 per hour plus tips. This is not a happy ending place but I am sure you will be healthier when you leave. read more

All of that went out the window when the lady in the front harassed my husband and I for leaving a 25% tip. She kept telling us that was too low. Worst place ever. Waaaay to hard and rough. I felt like I was being beat up. Had to say something numerous times but still was too hard, fast, rough and painful. Pulled my head so hard I thought he was going to decapitate me. Pulled my legs and my arms quickly and too hard. Ridiculous. I felt like he went a little too close to my privates too. Got a 90 minute body massage from Lucas today. Highly recommend him, he was very strong and seemed knowledgeable especially with pressure points. My massage was mostly acupressure but it's just what I needed. My shoulder and back were extremely tight with a lot of knots that he worked tirelessly on. I would suggest you ask for light to medium pressure if you can't take pain (good kind of pain of course). I will definitely be sore by morning but already felt much looser and better after the massage. The place is no frills like most in Flushing but also very clean. It was only $50 for 90 minutes and I tipped $25, $75 total for 90 minutes is very reasonable if you ask me. They are extremely friendly and there is a small parking lot in the back, you have to get there through the supermarket next door. Will be back for sure! read more

The massage was not bad but when it came to payment, it is obnoxious! They don't first tell you that you get charged for a service fee for using a card then they ASK for $15 minimum tip. Mind you the service is $20(feet massage) and their reason is that their prices are super low. Tip is given at the persons discretion. So I ended up paying 75% tip at this point. NEVER GOING AGAIN. A good massage, clean and quiet environment is what I wanted and got. However, what could have been a great experience was ruined by the front desk worker who was rude from beginning to end. She had a nasty attitude when I couldn't understand her quick explanation of credit card service fee ($5 which I was fine with). At the end of my service, I paid with my credit card and gave cash for the tip. I handed her $50 and she held onto it like I was giving her the whole thing. I asked for change. That's when it got ugly. I wanted to give a 22% tip, which required smaller bills she said she did not have. At which point she began to berate me in front of the massage worker, demanding I leave more. I left the majority of my tip and came back with more money. She rudely took the money and would not let me back in to give it to the woman personally. If you are prepared to be told how much to tip your masseuse and can ignore the poor customer service from one person-then go here. The other workers are much more professional. read more

Went for a body massage for 1 hr and my time was shorted by 15 minute. The woman doing the masssge said "ok 1hr finished. When I said no there is 15 minutes left she again said 1hr finished and left the room. While I was getting dressed the same woman that did the massage came back in the room and started cleaning the room when I wasn't finished getting dressed. She said have to take next customer. At this point I was very annoyed! I told the manager at the front desk area and she did not seem to care and did nothing to help with the issues I had while I was there. She continued to charge me for 1 hr of service knowing my time was shorted and insisted that I leave a tip! These issues have been reported to the Dept of Consumer Affair! I was recommended this spa and the service overall was great. Easy to call and make an appointment and quick to get stared when you get there. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice. I decided to get the hour massage for 35 dollars. Once I was leaving I gave the lady that worked on me her tip (which was above 20%) she then looked at the money and told me "no 20 dollars"..at first I was confused so I told her I would be paying the rest for the actual service at the cashier who was standing beside me. She then got a little annoyed and said "no 20 dollars tip!". I honestly was caught off guard so ended up giving it to her. After calling my sister when I left she said that they never forced a certain tip on her. It seems that they have a low sticker price to get people in the door and then force the tip for some. I would much rather them raise the price of the massage instead of having a awkward interaction.
