I decided to get out today and take care of a few things, one of which was getting a massage at this place. I randomly called and asked if they had an immediate opening. Surprisingly, they did. The lady on the phone asked for quite a bit of information and penciled me. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman. She had a spunky sense of humor and was friendly and courteous. Her massage was really good, much better than some other ones I've had recently. I had a Swedish massage. She did a great job and it was well worth the price. They do charge tax, and of course, you should tip your masseuse. I would recommend this place. In the past I've had trouble booking a slot, so don't expect to walk in and get lucky like I did. Call well in advance to book an appointment and it will be worth it. I also noticed facial equipment and other services, so they offer more than just massages. Overall, a good place. read more

Loved this spa! They fit me and my friend in last minute and were super attentive when we arrived--tea, water, very relaxing vibe. My deep tissue massage was amazing, and their bathroom has a sauna and shower, which made the experience even better. I'm coming back for a body scrub for sure. Nails were the only disappointment. He is professional, caring and was attentive to the pain and discomfort that I have been suffering with for weeks. My only regret is that I have not come here sooner. I've been in the neighborhood for decades and for some reason I discovered Ascend spa only about a year ago. It is totally my loss! But I can now say I'm a very happy client. Joe is my massage therapist. He is really listening to what you need, how strong/deep you want the pressure applied and more. Couple of days ago I felt my sciatica"building up" so I went in. Luckily Joe had an opening. It was the smartest thing I did that day. I was in such misery before, walked w pain, even my yoga didn't help for more than couple of minutes. Joe was my cure that day. I found this gem of a place a year ago and since have purchased two series. I go for massages specifically by Ingrid who is probably the best medical massage professional in all of time! She is caring and knows what she is doing. I literally feel like I'm floating when she is done. The place is professional and very clean. I did have a facial there twice but they're really best at massages. The facial person didn't have enough experience and the products were not that great for the price. This place is great. Just had a massage with Joe, who was so kind, attentive, and informative. I have a hip injury that has caused me chronic pain, and Joe was very thorough in his evaluation, and let me know that often times the area of pain is not always the source. So, he quickly devised a plan to work on other areas he felt would help relieve the pressure I felt in my hip. I left feeling more relaxed and a lot less tense. I had an appointment with Lauren who was kind, sweet, and very unique in her techniques. It was a really healing experience, physically and emotionally. I appreciated and enjoyed her approach in aligning the mind and body with different types of energies (for example the wood energy with the gallbladder and the liver). Clara at the front desk could not be any nicer, chatting with her is like chatting with an old friend. I purchased the massage series and it was great because I went back just about weekly after my first visit. Joe the massage therapist is absolutely lovely. I booked an appointment for an airbrush tan because Beach Bum is the only place I've found in the area that does them and the person who does it never seems to be there when I want to make an appointment. The results are also very inconsistent. I am so happy I went to Ascend instead! I've been getting airbrush tans for over 10 years at many different places and this was one of the most natural (but still noticeable) ones I've ever gotten. The gentleman who does them is meticulous with the application process and he made absolutely sure the formula was applied evenly. My hands and feet usually soak up the dye like crazy which can lead to a very unsightly effect but that wasn't an issue at all here. I waited about 8 hours to shower and after I did I was left with beautiful, natural-looking color. Best of all it lasted over a week, including an entire day of snorkeling and swimming in the ocean almost every day. I didn't notice any streaking when the color faded, which is borderline miraculous. The formula they use is also not smelly or sticky while it's drying, which is great if you need to run errands, etc. while you're waiting for it to set. All of the people at Ascend were very nice and welcoming. It was a nice change to get a "spa" experience getting an airbrush tan! I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the room where they do the spray tans is a little cramped and quite chilly when you're drying off. Other than those minor things everything was great. I'll definitely be back for airbrush tans and will probably check out the other services as well. read more

This place is so relaxing. I had a couple of massages from this spa $ the experience is amazing. There is a sauna and a really nice big shower. The reason that I'm writing this because I had an amazing massage from Jefferey. I came in with really tensed shoulders that's giving me headaches. Jeff decided to give me a deep tissue massage. End up I was very tense everywhere since everything is connected. I had no pain after the massage and it felt like a ton of weight off my shoulders, ahhhhh.... Jeff you work magic! What I Learned: Never to question an exfoliation. Angelicia exfoliated my body from my neck to the sole of my feet with what felt like gravel. During the process, I was between crying and laughing but I knew I was going to come out the spa's door like a brand new woman. What I Loved: Bathroom. The bathroom was so clean. It was as if someone threw bleach and faboloso and knew I was coming. What I Didn't Like: My manicure and pedicure. The nail technician did a great job with my mani and pedi BUT the nail polish took thirty minutes to dry. Beauty supply $1.99 nail polish dries quicker. What I Wished: Better snacks. They only provided us with fruits & nuts. Specifically sunflower seeds, peanuts, and dried fruit. My palate was not ready for airplane food. The rooms seemed soundproof and the procedures were calming. I appreciated the locker room to store your belongings, with the key. The robes were plush, I have to order one. The waiting area was calming and quiet (though it had a phone docking station and I think phones should be strongly discouraged). Have been going to Ascend Spa for nearly two years now, and always had a great experience. I've had chronic back pain since the age of 13, and Jeff is amazing at combining deep tissue techniques with relaxation techniques. It's to the point where pain that I thought would be permanent for the rest of my life is nearly resolved (been in and out of physical therapy since 13). Front staff is always friendly, on top of COVID-19 precautions, and there are package deals available. I had the pleasure of receiving my first facial from Brenda. Let me say that she was great all the way through the session. She walked me through every step. I really enjoyed her laid back/unpretentious personality. I was able to see results 2 days after the facial. I saw scars go away and my acne reduce by 85%. I was finally able to wear very minimal makeup at work and feel confident in my own skin. I haven't been able to do that before this facial.
