Thanks for replying Ally. I understand and agree with paying a fair wage. Service is an integral part of sitting down at a restaurant so there is no point in highlighting a separate "service charge." If it's mandatory, it should be reflected in the price of the food. Gratuity is important to encouraging good service and it should be up to the customer. I don't agree that a mandatory service charge is a "modern" approach. Yes, it is a trend that restaurants are pushing but it creates perverse behavior. A gratuity decided by the customer incentivizes the right behavior and makes your job as a manger easier because the customers are helping drive the right behavior. Many other industries are moving to a pay for performance model while restaurants are moving backwards. Based on reading the reviews, a great many of your customers feel the same way. I will try Tavolata (ESR) again but only if the 22% mandatory service charge is removed. read more

That has become one of our go toos in Redmond. Their happy hour and the Wine + 2 meals (Mondays?) are really good value if you want to try it at a good discount. Very good cocktails, bar and places to lounge for a nice social catchup. Service has also never disappointed. read more

The food early on was great at the Redmond location. First time I visited, no complaints and the best focaccia bread. Second visit, there was a wire bristle in my food (probably from wire brush used to clean the grill), and the focaccia no longer came with cheese. Third time, pasta was EXTREMELY salty and just didn't live up to the usual standard there. Overall, ok. read more

I've eaten at a Tavolata over 50+ times. The new chef here at Redmond has Tavolata hitting on all cylinders. Incredible food. Great location. Friendly staff. Awesome wine list. This restaurant keeps getting better and better. We're lucky to have them as an option on the eastside. Thank you Tavolata! See you all again next week :) read more

We went here for Seattle restaurant week & all our dishes were outstanding, delicious & amazing. We ordered bruschetta which was excellent w the salmon, pickled onions, the huge pork chop which I had to take home since it was so big & tasty. We ordered the travolata salad which I couldn't stop eating, the salmon special which was so tender it was like a soufflé. We got the chickpeas, tonnareli, plus we ordered the panna cotta w strawberries & rhubarb, superb. read more

The only redeeming part of this review was the appetizers. They actually had taste. The pasta courses were atrocious. The bucatini was worse than butter noodles and Parmesan cheese at home. Just absolutely tasteless. The rigatoni was decent at best but was served to us luke warm. The brown butter ravioli was also tasteless. I don't know how you can drowned flavors out of food but this kitchen is great at it. To top it off at the end when the service was not very good. Our server said Ethan Stoll is getting rid of tipping so you don't have to worry about it. Lucky for them because the service and timing of food wasn't anything exceptional. All in all I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Service, food and atmosphere of the restaurant were all good! It was perfect for our monthly friend group dinner! Although, the 20% service fee was a bit of a shock considering there were only 4 of us. The girl at the front, Hailey was really nice, welcomed us with a smile and was super fun to talk to while we waited a bit to be seated. Overall, a good expirence but I would avoid if your going in a larger group because of the service fee read more

The food was excellent. It is so difficult to find homemade pasta and what we had was amazing. The gluten-free pasta is also quite good as well, and the drinks were fabulous. I definitely recommend it. We will come back soon! read more

"Meh". Food is okay, nothing special especially for the price. Expect to pay $60-70 for dinner for two, which is two entrees and an appetizer. Unfortunately, nothing exceptional. Bonus for a nice space and friendly staff, but probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

A new Italian place, seeing this I knew I had to try it out. Noticed this place pop up after Redmond added yet another apartment building, so we finally decided to create reservations for 7:45. After arriving it took a couple minutes for them to fix a table, and after being seated a couple more for a waiter to approach us. The place had a very open concept with a open kitchen and high ceilings. It was more of a casual vibe with it being very noisy and not a recommended place to take a date and more of a mid to high price range dinner. One thing we quickly noticed was the inexperience from the waiters, from them not understanding basic commodity like giving a bottle opener with a bottle Ayinger. Or having an understanding what components are in a meal, though it makes sense with them having an automatic 22% gratuity to the restaurant itself and not the servers. After all this it kind of makes up for it with the food, once are order was in we were served with are meals in about 10 minutes. The food was very flavorful and the dishes showed a very authentic freshness that I enjoyed. I would recommend getting your pasta dish spicier because I do know without the added spice it lacks the flavor we enjoyed. I highly recommend the focaccia though with it being some of the most fluffy and flavorful bread I've ever had! In conclusion I recommend this place if your looking for a fresh pasta dish with a lively environment. Knowing they have room for improvement with the service and treatment of the staff here. read more

I cannot believe this place has an average of 3 stars! The food was AMAZING. The toasted beets come with a smear of lemon ricotta, basil, and toasted walnuts. BLEW my mind. The pork chops were PERFECT. The pappardelle was equally delish. Our server Ash was accommodating, friendly, and delightful. read more

Area: 4.5 - Located in a prime area of Redmond. Lively area on a Saturday night, especially with the warmer weather. Plenty of street parking & sidewalks, very walkable. Area seemed safe and well lit. Establishment: 5.0 Atmosphere was busy. The restaurant is in a newer building. Clean and nicely furnished inside & out with outdoor seating. We were a party of 9 and there to celebrate a birthday. We were lucky and got seated in the private glass room with a table large enough to seat all of us comfortably. Food: 4.5 - We ordered 9 entrees and approximately 10-12 appetizers. For dessert, we went with a couple of orders of the Zeppole (like donut holes) and the gelato. All the dishes we had this evening were very well executed. Service: 1.5 - Needs refinement. The evening started off fine. We started off with drinks and then ordered a series of appetizers. Soon after, we ordered our entrees. Food Delivery: We ordered 9 entrees, however when our dishes came out, only 1 was delivered. Then for about 15-20 minutes nothing else came out. Then 2 more trickled in. A few minutes later the rest arrived. This was around 9pm when our main courses came, so the restaurant was not that busy. They close at 10. It was awkward since people in our party were polite and would wait to start on their dinner until everyone received their meal. Server: After our dinners were served, OUR SERVER NEVER RETURNED. We were done eating for some time and waiting. Apparently, after we went searching for him another server told us that he clocked out & left but forgot to tell anybody we were still here. So basically, HE ABANDONED US in the middle of dinner. Not even a courteous check-in or even a word to say, "My shift is ending, but 'Bob' will be taking over and will take care of you." To-Go Boxes: After we figured out who was now serving us, we kindly asked for to-go boxes. Two of the servers were nice enough to take the dish from my wife and another friend and boxed their meals for them. But then another server returned and when I went to hand him my plate, he handed me a bunch of empty boxes basically saying, "Here, do it yourself." Overall: We were there to celebrate our friend's birthday. This was the place he chose, so of course we did not make a fuss over any of this. We ordered a considerable amount of food and tried a wide variety of your menu. Kudos to the kitchen staff, however front of the house (i.e. the Servers) needs refinement. And if you're wondering, even after all of this, we still tipped an acceptable gratuity. In summary... The food is good. The location is great and the restaurant is bright and pleasant. I am sure a smaller party with a different server may have a better experience. Perhaps tonight was not our luck. Might be worth giving a try still. For us, next time "No thanks. We'll try someplace else." read more

what an awesome happy hour menu and our summer go to as we're playing outside later and eating later. Thanks Tristan, you consistently provide great service going above and beyond. You always make us feel welcome, like we're going to a friends house for dinner read more

The reason for this review was the service Friday night. We came to celebrate a birthday and while the food was good, the restaurant was clearly understaffed. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, then another 20 minutes for anyone to come by to offer us a drink or take our order. There was a nearly one hour gap between appetizers and entrees, which then came one by one instead of together. We gave up on having dessert as it was so late. No one remembered my daughter's birthday which we we had put on the reservation, and I had confirmed a few days prior. I'm normally a big Ethan Stowell fan but this location is not living up to expectations. read more

Food was good, service is at best average. Reasoning for 1 star is because they charge an automatic gratuity of an absurd 22%. Restaurant attempts to hide this by writing this in size 3 font (which is far smaller than rest of font on the menu) I understand this is legal, so as a customer I can post that I feel hustled and misled as the bill that came out at the end of dinner is in now way related to the prices on the menu. They tricked me once, but this establishment won't trick me twice. Hoping this bad review steers some future customers away to a restaurant that is more transparent with their pricing. It isn't that the total bill price was unreasonable, the issue is that as a customer I feel tricked and misled. If they had just been transparent with their pricing I would have been fine. read more

Food and service were average. I make a better black ink sauce at home. I won't come back. Ambiance from the terrace was noisy with the car traffic. read more

I've waited for quite sometime to try this place after finding out Redmond was getting one in town. I was very VERY disappointed. The bagels are very small and very little is even placed inside the bagel sandwich (whether it's a breakfast or lunch sandwich) Lots of seating and staff was very kind. The portions were too small and not worth paying $45 for two sandwiches plus a small coffee and bottled orange juice. Back to Blazing Bagels read more

love the food！our favorite plave to eat after a work day. We have brought many friends and families here they all absolutely love it！

Bagels are pretty good. The service was way too slow. For a Saturday morning and three or four staff working behind the desk, they need to be more efficient. I waited for 10-12 minutes for just a dozen bagels. read more

I loved this place ! Ambiance was awesome , very inviting , chic and loved the open concept and outdoor seating. The food was outstanding ! Pricing was very reasonable I can't wait to go back read more

Sad that the service and the food is off and on. Had a rigatoni tonight that was a 12 on a scale from 1-10 in heat factor. Mentioned the unusual spicy sausage to the staff and he mentioned do you want some milk. No I can't eat this it's too hot. At a mandatory 22% tip/service fee automatically added I just don't like the nonchalant attitude. Especially if you go down for a bottle of wine and some happy hour. Dislike 22 percent on a bottle of wine. This is off my receipt... We include a service charge of 22% for dine in and 8% to delivery and takeout to the entire guest check. The entire service charge (100%) is retained by the company. Gratuities are not expected read more

The food here is solid, not a huge menu but what they do they do right. They have all the ingredients you need for a fun place and wonderful food. We were here pretty early so we ate off the happy hour menu which was nice, the bartender poured a great drink, and the couches are nice to sit on after your meal and hang out. I will be curious about the upcoming winter months as the area has a great outdoor section which really makes the space. We will be back to try a few more dishes and to venture off the happy hour menu. This would be a great place to come with a group of people as the open space makes for easy sitting and conversations. read more

Food was terrible. Home cooked pasta from TJs taste better. Service was SLOW. We waited an hour for the food on a Thursday night. The only reason this place is 2 stars is because the ambiance is nice and it is across the street from Redmond DT Park read more

We have been using Tavolata as our Friday afternoon cocktail spot for a while and enjoying the wonderful surroundings, views of the park and ok priced drinks (during happy hour that is). We finally decided to sit down and eat something in the restaurant. The first thing we noticed is that they had changed their Burrata and grilled peaches appetizer which was amazing and which we enjoyed all summer to a pine nut and burrata concoction which is nice but, darn i missed the peaches For main course we did 2 pastas and the pork rack. The pasta dishes were very nice, we thought the pork was great until we got to the bone pieces to find it was way undercooked. Im not a fan of rare pork chops Overall, it's a fantastic location, we love the drinks, the pasta dishes are nice if a little pricey and we will not be ordering pork there again. We will be back lots to take in cocktails and apetizers in the beautiful bar area but our visits to the restaurant area will be limited. read more

The bagels are small and thick. They are commonly out of ingredients. Disappointing, dry bagel avocado and egg sandwich. Couldn't taste the butter, egg was dry and flavorless. Skip this place. read more

Super delicious pasta and even more delicious cocktails! The food is a bit expensive, but it's great for a special night out though. I came here for my birthday, don't pass up the focaccia! My fiancé and I have been looking for good Italian food in the area for a couple of years and just got around to trying this place and we were thoroughly impressed! We had the salumi board which had a great selection of meats with some cheese on top and was a great start to our meal. For our entrees we had the rigatoni and the tonnarelli with meatballs added and both were awesome! The rigatoni definitely had some spice to it but nothing overwhelming and the tonnarelli had amazing texture and the noodles were perfectly cooked. As for service, we were seated right away at around 5:45 PM. The service was fast and we were able to get assistance whenever we needed during the meal. Our waiter Ash was very helpful in making sure we had what we needed and were also checked on by the managers. We were sitting pretty close to the kitchen and I watched multiple dishes come out and be ready to be run to the table. They were always quickly retrieved and when one was sitting, an employee was quick to yell "service" and someone would run the food within a minute. Overall, we felt very welcomed and not rushed through our meal. For the ambiance, it was a cute spot that seemed slightly more upscale than a typically restaurant but not necessarily to the point where you have to dress up. There were groups of co-workers and families there and it seemed to be a warm environment for all. For parking, I recommend parking at the Porch and Park garage around the corner as you can take the elevator straight up to the restaurant. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning soon! read more

This place mandates you pay 22% gratuity. I am always super happy to pay more than 20% gratuity when I get good service but in this particular case I didn't get that. I was still obligated to pay 22% which was incredibly infuriating. This is the best reason for servers not to be incentivize to provide good service. I don't think I'll ever be back for that reason.. read more

Not really sure how this place keeps multiplying but if you want a sour rubbery/plastic bagel for decoration, then this is the place for you. The bagels are geeneraally excellent but availability of our favorite type of bagel makes this shop less inviting. I have been to Rubenstein Bagels about a half dozen times. I usual try to get 3 cinnamon raisin and 3 other type of bagels. Most of the time they do not have 3 cinnamon raisin bagels available and kindly offer me others but the cinnamon raisin are the family favorite. I asked if cinnamon raisin were not a desired by others. They told me they were one of the biggest sellers so I asked why they do not make more to have them available. The clerk told me they want to sell the others too. I hope they get their act together and figure out what sells and what does not. read more

Food was good, but very expensive. We got spaghetti, ravioli, cesar salad, side of meatballs, and smoked fish on bruscetta. Most things had a lemony taste so that was weird, but not too bad. The worst thing was that a 22% mandatory tip is added to your bill, and our server was forgetful when serving and forgetful when boxing our food. Some of our food was barely eaten, and it was missing from what she boxed. Mandatory tip should come with excellent service. read more

Excellent food and service. The restaurant is gorgeous!! The flavorful Focaccia was served hot and we loved both of the dipping sauces. The Burata was excellent and we enjoyed the cucumber accompaniment and the crispy and tasty crostini. It is difficult to pick a favorite from the Tavolata salad and the pastas we tried. The salad was crisp and refreshing with the perfect amount of dressing and the tomatoes and pistachios were so good! For the pasta, we tried the Tonnarelli and the Pappardelle. Talk about flavor!! Both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we had the Malted Chocolate Budino which was so chocolaty and creamy and a perfect end to our meal.
