Still waiting to be impressed by Tavolata.. I've tried the Cap Hill location before and wasn't a huge fan (mid tasting pasta for a premium price), and it's pretty much the same deal here in the new Redmond location. Tavolata Redmond is located underneath an apartment complex in downtown Redmond across from the park. Parking is a bit tricky with no dedicated lot, have to hope to find street parking nearby or walk from one of the parking lots. I got the pappardelle pasta, and it was alright - decent taste and portion, but at $30 I just expected something more. Service left a lot to be desired, it took a good 10 minutes for someone to come and offer us water after we got seated and check if we were ready to order. They also have an automatic gratuity of 22% regardless of party size - wish there was better service given this :/ read more

We loved finding Tavolata already open and opted to celebrate my birthday. Reservation was easy, we asked to sit outside on a perfect evening and they cleaned a table and seated us quickly. They gave me a card signed by the staff as soon as we sat down. I wasn't going to eat the focaccia but it smelled so irresistible--it was divine! The chickpeas made me enjoy celery and raisins, both items I'm not generally looking to eat. The chickpeas were def toothy. I had the ravioli and my honey got the bolognese. Great flavors, very unique for the bolognese (orange?!). They brought a candlelit bowl of chocolate gelato with a shortbread cookie, a creamy compliment to a lovely meal. I'm hoping this is just a one-time incident in dealing with rude staff and bagels that are not ready when the shop opens. I visited Rubenstein Bagels to pick up a bagel sandwich to eat for later as I was going to work out nearby, and it was not at all the same Rubenstein Bagels as the one in South Lake Union. I was happy to learn that Rubenstein Bagels opened a location on the Eastside as I've eaten at its South Lake Union location and the turkey sandwich was bomb. Hoping to get another turkey sandwich for later, I visited Rubenstein Bagels right at 7am when it supposedly opened, and it was not open. I waited for about five minutes until one of the employees saw me outside the entrance and it wasn't as if she quickly came to the door to let me in. She literally saw me then started saying something to the other employee, then walked to a different area of the shop, still talking to the employee, and then came to the door. Okay... And when she opened the door to let me in, there was no greeting. She literally just opened the door for me without a word. Then when I walked to the counter to place an order and the other employee just looked at me because a greeting would be too much to ask for. Whatever. So I started talking by asking if they would be able to make a turkey sandwich for me even though it was breakfast time. She said yes. Then as I was placing an order, that's when she said that they're still waiting for the bagels to arrive and it'll be about 10 minutes. Okay... So me and two other customers just waited until the bagels came. Another employee came to the counter to take my order as the bagels started to arrive, and I will say, he was definitely much friendlier than the other two employees there. I ordered the turkey sandwich on the jalapeno cheddar bagel. Minutes later, I found out that the jalapeno cheddar is not yet available as it's still baking. At this time, I needed to get to my workout class, so told the employee that I'll just switch up my order for a bagel that's already there - the chocolate cherry with goat cheese and the employee kindly offered to refund me and not charge for the chocolate cherry bagel. Without him, I would've given this place one star. Not the best first impression/visit here to this Redmond location. I have to say, I'm not itching to go back, especially when I can have a much more pleasant experience at Blazing Bagels, which is usually where I get bagels on the Eastside. The insides are fresh but I'm just a more gooey bagel type of person. Probably my favorite was their cinnamon raisin one bc it had the most freshness and gooey texture to the outside. Food 4.5 stars average Atmosphere 5 + Staff and service 5+ The BEET SALAD 100% stole the show for me, would recommend. Perfect dish and apparently is on the happy hour menu as well. Wines were delicious and waiter Sam D was above and beyond good customer service. He recommended wines that paired well and was a friendly face I would want to return and see. Where I think they can improve: updating the online menu. (Was looking forward to something listed, however was informed it was only seasonal.) Tip: happy hour is EVERYDAY 4-6! So, if your wanting to try I highly recommend going for some drinks/apps! Would love to see them continue to thrive here in Redmond. Is a lovely addition to the community. We went for happy hour and was seated pretty promptly without a reservation, although the server informed us that the table had a reservation on it at 7:30 so as long as we didn't stay until then (we arrived at about 5:45) that we could be seated there. We ordered a meatball small plate and the waitress recommended pairing it with the focaccia since it was "to die for" and she recommended soaking the sauce on the meatballs with the bread, so we obliged and also ordered the focaccia and also a Bear Creek Buck cocktail. The focaccia and cocktail arrived first. The focaccia was pretty crispy but could have been cut more since it was kind of difficult to split apart. Also, it was on the more oily side. Funny thing was, the meatballs took so long to arrive that we would have finished the focaccia already but we decided to wait. The cheese and sauce helped balance out the meatballs. But the meatballs themselves were rather salty and the portion could have been larger. The pasta took awhile to come and the only update we got from the server was that the pasta was coming but that she heard it was dropped or something ‍ The pasta was way too salty. The rigatoni was al denté but the sauce was overly salty and there was a peculiar taste on the sausage that made me feel like I was tasting perfume or something. It fell pretty short. The cocktail tasted like a margarita or something, we couldn't taste the passion fruit nor the ginger that the menu had described. Overall, we had higher hopes for Tavolata's happy hour since we had previously come for the 2 pastas and a bottle of wine special. Pretty miserable experience: my family waited 20 mins for table and another hour for the food. Pure disappointment.

Convenient spot with easy accessibility for wheel chairs and strollers. Variety of choices for bagels; Sweet, savory and/or spicy. A little disappointed that they didn't carry cheese bagels. I had gotten a Lox bagel, felt like it needed something extra in it to balance the saltiness of it all. I felt rushed so I asked which was popular kid bagel, and they suggested a chocolate cherry. I didn't realize they had plain bagel with salt. I had to reorder because chocolate cherry was not a great choice for a two year old. Overall it was okay. The place was clean. I've gone to this Tavolata location several times now, and it's always been a proper experience. Great atmosphere, service, and food across the board. My buddy and I went this evening and I couldn't have asked for a better dinner service. The lamb gnocchi is AMAZING, the focaccia was tasty, and I could probably eat 10 carpaccios by myself. This place deserves more stars that its current average rating. The only reason I can think of that people may rate it low is that it is slightly overpriced. They also add a 20% service charge, but not tips expected. The pastas are great, so are the vibe and the service. We tried the carbonara, the rigatoni with sausage and the ragú tagliatelle. All aldente, all made well and authentic, and pretty delicious. The carbonara did not have any cream added and was the real deal. It has garlic, which was a little unusual but good. Our friend orders Door dash from here all of the time so we decided to go in. We had just been to Marymoor dog park so we were happy to see the park across the street with tables that we could eat at with our dogs. We're big fans of their open faced lox bagels with cream cheese, red onion & capers- so AMAZING! So all three of us got an order & also added an iced coffee each to go & headed to the park. The salmon was a generous portion & the cream cheese is just delicious as well as the red onion & capers. The coffees were not so good- we're used to a darker roast & these were watery & flavorless & went in the garage- ugh. The bagels, service & atmosphere deserve solid 5 stars the coffee I'll give a 1. The patio seating was perfect on a warm, late summer evening! We tried the focaccia and burrata appetizers - both were delicious and perfectly sized to share amongst our group of 4. For entrees, we each ordered a different pasta, including the pappardelle, rigatoni, ravioli, and bucatini. All of them were amazing and you could tell the noodles were freshly made. The bucatini was made carbonara style with a fresh egg yolk on top, something we haven't been able to find at many places and reminded us of yummy eats in Europe! Only con was that it was a little expensive, plus the automatic 22% service charge which is by far the highest I've seen at a restaurant like this. We rushed to try Ethan Stowell's new location of Tavolata. Unfortunately the service, food, and ambiance were all lacking. First Impressions- Upon being seated, the family next to me was visibly struggling to get the attention of wait staff. They told the wait staff their entree was taking too long and had to leave. The head chef came to their table next to us and offered to pack it up free of charge. Appetizer- We ordered the grilled green bean appetizer which was $17 I believe and it was served in a large shot glass. Less than 50 cents worth of raw ingredients. Horrible pricing and completely not worth it. Ambiance- it's strange that this restaurant is tagged as romantic because that's not the vibe I was getting. The vibe they were going for was confusing since they had a main dining area, but also a lounge area where you sat on low sofas and would have to lean forward and down to eat food off a coffee table? We opted for the main dining area. Food & Wait times- The pastas took a long time. They were decent but slightly overpriced. We tried one from the specials: the truffle ravioli and while the amount of shaved truffles was nice, the serving only had 5 ravioli. For a $30+ dish, that's around $6+ a ravioli. When we visited they had been open for around a month. It was clear their staff was not operating efficiently yet. The location in Redmond is finally open!!! My husband and I finally got to try their bagels this past weekend. He got a traditional breakfast bagel (egg, cheese, bacon) in everything wheat and I got the avocado toast with goat cheese, radishes, and pickled red onion on a garlic bagel. The flavor of the bagel tasted good but because their toaster was broken that day, the bagel tasted extra tough and chewy. They told us they toasted it in the oven but it didn't do a great job with the toasting. I would want to try their bagels after it's been properly toasted (texture is so important with a bagel!) The only other thing I noticed about the bagels is that only the top of the bagel has all the seasonings - for example, for my garlic bagel, it appeared that all the garlic was concentrated on the top and not much on the bottom of the bagel. If I'm eating my bagel open faced (like the avocado toast) I would want my bottom half of my bagel to also have as much garlic as the top. Other than that, great location and space! We got our bagels to go so didn't get to enjoy eating it there. They still have a few kinks to work out (broken toaster) but definitely a great addition to the bagel scene on the east side! read more

The space here is enormous and has such beautiful lighting in the morning! There was no one else in when I arrived and ordered 4 items for take out: rosemary bagel, shallot bagel, everything bagel, and the chorizo sandwich. it took about 10-15 minutes for these items to be ready. I'm not sure about if I were to eat the bagels right there when they were ready in the shop, but when I got home, the bagels were pretty hard and chewy. TL;DR not a bad bagel shop if you're in the area it's worth a try. I went in during the week day morning and it was quite calm. The staff was friendly but a bit hard to hear. The music inside was a little loud but they had a clean interior. I ordered the mocha and a game and cheese bagel sandwich on a garlic bagel. It wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic. I thought there was a too much ham compared to the cheese and egg. The taste of the ham was good but just overwhelming so you couldn't really taste anything else. I also got an iced mocha which turned out pretty good. Probably would stop again if I needed something quick as it didn't take long to come out at all. read more

So happy to experience Tavolata in Redmond. Love the interiors, the plush bar and the summery open-air dining vibes. Having dined at Tavolata Stoneway, we were invited to the private, exclusive friends & family dining before they officially open to the public on Tuesday. We did what we usually do at ESR restaurants. Start with bread, salad, move on to pastas and wash everything down with a delicious bottle of wine. So we got their focaccia, tavolata salad, the southern Italian wine Naracu , our favorite gnocchi alla romana and the tagliatelle pesto. Loved everything, including the service. Awesome bagel shop! Great atmosphere. We love the Everything and Rosemary bagels. Plus, their bacon is so good, especially for a bagel cafe. I particularly enjoy their BLT lunch sandwich on an Everything bagel. Coffee-wise, they use Olympia Coffee which is excellent!
