I have to say I probably come here 3 to 4 times a year to buy their Nama Chocolate as gifts. They always have a good selection of flavors, including seasonal ones, and you can usually ask for samples if you want to try something before buying. The Nama Chocolates are the melt-in-your-mouth ones and some of the flavors do contain alcohol. They need to be refrigerated, so when you buy them here they'll give you a small ice pack for your travels, which is really helpful. It's definitely more of a fancy Japanese chocolate and can be kinda pricey, but I think it makes a really good gift. The packaging is nice and it feels a little more special than just buying regular chocolates. The workers here are probably bored lol, but they're always friendly whenever I come in and helpful when I have questions. Overall, one of my spots to go whenever I need a nice chocolate gift. read more

We liked their chocolates in Japan and was able to try out the Koreatown location; this one is a stand at the Santa Anita mall. We wanted to get a gift for a friend not from the area so the staff let us try some samples of Nama and other delights. We ended up getting one Sakura box and another chocolate covered coffee beans. I was in The Shoppes at Santa Anita to dine at Ramen Nagi. Must try ramen if you haven't already. Anyway, I remember I checked out Royce in the past, but didn't buy anything due to lack of customer service. I decided to come back and give them another chance. Well, this time was better indeed. I was greeted timely. The nice young lady behind the counter answered my questions about their chocolate bars that ranged from $10.99 - $11.99. Thank you Miss! She recommended the Almond Chocolate bar. I do love almonds in chocolate so that's what I bought. Chocolate was very smooth and almonds were fresh. Price was slightly pricey, but then again you are buying a higher end chocolate brand. Nevertheless, it was a nice sweet splurge that happens once in a while. Despite Royce Chocolate never disappointing in terms of quality, it's sad to say I'll never return to this location ever again. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, empty counter, aside from one employee. We checked out the displays, waiting for the employee to greet/assist us. Nothing. She was just on her phone the entire time. But hey I get it, sometimes I get distracted too. We then proceed to walk directly to the spot where she was and stood in front of her, thinking that it'll get her attention. Nope. Her eyes were glued to the phone despite being inches from her. We decided to walk away since it seems like she did not want our business. Passed the stall a few times while in the mall and seems like she had no problems helping other customers. This is the closest location to me without wandering out towards Torrance, Gardena, or OC. I like how everything is displayed and service is informative whenever I have questions. They do have seasonal limited goods that sell out, so make sure you drop by when they're announced. I usually only shop here during October to get their cute Halloween treats as birthday gifts for people I know born during this spooky month. I love the cute packaging for not just the box of sweets, but each individually wrapped chocolate/cookie, as well as the bag that everything comes in. Has the best chocolate in town but the worst buying experience from a chocolatier. Was there before Christmas 2025 30 minutes before their official closing time. It was very obvious that the only teenage sales there were already done with all the counting she needs to do before closing. Had the opportunity as an elite member to try different items on their menu through an invitation. They sell a variety of products with a lot of creativity. Chocolate is sold in ways that only one can imagine. Have you tried a potato chip with chocolate coating? This is something that I've never experienced before, and I am quite surprised how delicious these chocolate coated potato chips are! There are also various products that contain chocolate with matcha, strawberry, and vanilla. You can't say no to delicious chocolate. And the workers here have done an amazing and professional job to provide information on their products. In addition, they gave me the opportunity to try a lot of products they sell. I loved how they were actually just in between shops at the mall, because they were hard to located. The way they set up their shop is quite neat, so I'm impressed. Their products might be quite expensive, but they are imported from Japan. So it definitely wouldn't hurt to spend your money on some of their products once in a while. read more

I ordered through Uber eats and when I try to pick up my order they told me that the order has been completed. When they checked their log, it did not show that anyone picked up my order. They did not refund me money or what I paid for the products. Instead, they said told it was "unreasonable" that I did not pick up the order in a certain amount of time. They THEN claimed that the order was fulfilled and that there was nothing that they could do even after they called someone on the phone. I never got my items. So they DID NOT fulfill my order neither did they issue a refund or try to cancel my order after no one picked up the product. Funny thing is, when I initially tried to pick up my item they were just going to give it to me someone else's order without really looking at my phone, so I suspect that somebody else picked up my order. The person behind me tried to pick up items and they gave him the wrong items for pick up. The product they're importing may be good, but the business is questionable. read more

There are these cookies I like to buy for myself every once in a while as a treat and this place has them! (I know Neiman Marcus carries them too.) Whether it's this retailer or other stores that carry them, they come in two box sizes...one for $28 and another for $40. I usually get the smaller box when I buy it. The cashier at the time said they only had the $40 one. I didn't want to pay that much this time, but then she found the smaller box, which I got. Now I don't know if she pretended not to have the smaller box at first to make more money or not, but all's well that ends well. read more

After trying ROYCE' for the first time at a family friend's house, I was hooked and had to get my hands on a box for myself! I remember going to Vegas to buy four boxes of the white Nama Chocolates for myself since this location did not exist yet. It has always and is still one of my favorites of all time. I have been craving these chocolates lately and decided to stop by and buy a box while shopping at the mall. Initially, I planned to buy the white Nama chocolates, but the Sakura Fromage Nama Chocolates caught my eye. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. She offered samples on products I was interested in buying and even gave some individually wrapped chocolate samples with my purchase. In the end, I decided to go with the Sakura Fromage Nama Chocolates since they were limited edition and tasted really good. As someone who is not a fan of chocolate at all, ROYCE' Nama Chocolates are the way to my heart! They are my favorite and the only kind of chocolates I will eat (aside from Godiva white chocolate). At $18 a box, it is definitely more on the pricey side for chocolate, but I think its taste makes up for it. I am super glad that there is a ROYCE' location at this mall. It makes satisfying my Nama Chocolate cravings much more manageable and it beats having to drive out to Torrance/Las Vegas to get a box. read more

Mmmmmm....I like chocolate but I don't normally buy/eat much chocolate. Except Royce. From Hokkaido, Japan, we're lucky to have the only SoCal store right here in SGV. These chocolates come in many flavors and variations. Take a look at their website and you'll see a plethora of options. I like the Nama chocolate bites. All of the flavors are good so depends what you're into. I like the dm chocolate and matcha the best. My other fave is the matcha nut/crisp bar. As well as the Matcha truffe. As other reviews note, these aren't cheap. Most boxes are $18 and you don't get that much (by sheer weight of chocolate) But since I only eat one piece a day, they last for a while. read more

First tasted Royce in Las Vegas back in February, probably one of the best chocolates I had. We live in San Diego and the locations are pretty far, I was excited to find them at Santa Anita Mall and another awesome thing was they have ice packs with the chocolate so it doesn't melt. My friend and I had such a hard time finding this kiosk because the mall directories aren't updated with their new location! They are on the first floor right in front of Nordstrom, next to the Somi Somi ice cream kiosk. They give samples of their chocolates if you ask. The employee who helped us was really friendly and informative about each of their chocolates. I originally came to get one box but ended up leaving with two, they're just so good! Not the largest selection of ROYCE's chocolate. However, since the next nearest location is all the way in Torrance this location will do. It is actually not a physical shop but a stand near the bottom level of Nordstrom. The service is always quick, as it's just a stand. The staff will provide samples for certian flavors if they available. For those who haven't tried Royce i'd highly recommend it as it is very rich and milky. It makes a great gift as well. read more

After living in Japan and having easy access to Royce nama chocolate, I was ecstatic to find a storefront in LA that sells them at reasonable prices! Their nama chocolate is perfect for chocolate lovers. What makes it so difference is how smooth it is. Think of a very rich, dense, but not too heavy chocolate piece that melts in your mouth. It is so dreamy. It is a bit difficult to describe, so you just need to trust me and try some yourself! The staff were all very kind. Great customer service. Royce Chocolate is a brand of amazing, melt in your mouth chocolate, made in Japan. If you ever go to Japan, some of the must treats that you should bring back should include Shiroi Koibito cookies (google theses because these melt in your mouth, delicate vanilla cookies are amazing), Kit Kat chocolate bars (only in Japan are there fun and unique flavors that you can't get anywhere else that includes red bean, strawberry, green tea, etc) and Royce Chocolate. But of course you can purchase a lot of these items at Japanese Markets like Mitsuwa and Tokyo Central if you have no travel plans for Japan anytime soon. A little background info about Royce Chocolate (founded in 1983) is that they are made in Hokkaido (roughly 500 miles north of Tokyo) and are known to be a high quality chocolate (like Godiva). Royce Chocolate sells pieces of chocolate and also wafers and cookies, chocolate covered potato chips, truffles and bars. The Nama Chocolate line is most popular and typically contains some type of liquor (although they also have some that do not contain any alcohol), such as red wine and champagne (cheers!). Typically this type of chocolate needs to be refrigerated or will melt in a few hours. The Nama Chocolate line (nama means "fresh" in Japanese) has a nice delicate and creamy mouth feel that is similar to ganache and is made with Hokkaido cream to produce some outstanding chocolate. Anyways, so now that you are a little bit cultured in the art of Japanese chocolate, this particular Royce Chocolate stand alone store in located across the newly opened Somisomi (where you can get those tasty ice cream sandwich treats inside a fish shaped Taiyaki Waffle Cone), down the Nordstrom wing, at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. Although Royce Chocolate has been in and out in various locations at this mall (from fellow Yelper's reviews... thank you members for your informative reviews), according to one of the employees helping me, this is a permanent location for them. During my visit here (this past Wednesday), I was helped by both of the female employees working this evening. I briefly was informed about the brand and how their chocolate is made. I was then given a few samples after I had asked if I could try since both employees mentioned the creamy texture (how could I not have a sample after that?). The Nam Chocolate Au Lait, $18 (tax included), is the most popular. This particular chocolate flavor is a milk chocolate made with cream and has a shelf life of 1 month and must be refrigerated. This chocolate is also infused with red wine, but does not have a strong taste (I honestly didn't taste it but if you have a more sophisticated palette, you may be able to). Just as I had mentioned earlier, the texture is very smooth and really does slowly melt in your mouth, making it so unforgettable and as a result, a longing for more. Granted a box (or 1 oz) is not cheap, but definitely worth trying. Inside the box is 20 small pieces of chocolate. After purchasing, one employee placed my box inside a cooling bag with a small ice packet to keep it frozen until I get home so that I can put it in the fridge. She told me that this will keep my chocolate cold enough for up to 2 hours. By the way, gift wrap is available (complementary) if you are purchasing as a gift. The second most popular Nam Chocolate is the Champagne Pierre Mignon (also $18 for a 1 oz box). I had a sample of this and could taste hints of champagne, but it was not overwhelming to overpower the flavor of the chocolate. I really liked this flavor as well, which made this a tough decision for me because I only wanted to purchase one box. But if I was to purchase another box, I would pick up this one. But as I mentioned, you can also purchase some of the Nam Chocolate line without alcohol, that includes their white chocolate and mild milk chocolate (I did not try any of these flavors). Also they do sell cookies, truffles, chocolate bars, etc that I had mentioned above. One of the employees actually gave me 1 small rolled up flute cookie to try before I decided to just purchase a box of the Au Lait. Customer service was friendly and attentive. But also nice that I was not pressure to buy anything. Although I know the chocolate is kind of pricey but if you ever do get to go to Japan, make sure to pick up a box there because it is ~50% cheaper. Luckily the chocolate loving demon inside of me couldn't resist the temptation of finding out if the taste justifies the cost. We are so lucky! As I walk towards the counter and started browsing through, the staff (Dani, Rose, and Annette) were all there to assist me. They even let me tried multiple samples and didn't even complain when I asked! They told me what were the best seller and even let me tried some of their new chocolate that I didn't even know they had! The girls were very informative and answered every questions I had.
