Was at the mall wasting time and decided to buy a small individual item for my mom as an afternoon tea treat at home. Never tried the Basque cheesecake and the guy sold it to me that they had this limited flavor taro for a couple more weeks so I got a whole cake lol. It was worth it to surprise family and kids with something purple. Black Sesame is also worthwhile to try.

The burnt basque cheesecake never disappoints! They also had it in Ube flavor. I wish they had samples but they didn't. Love this place and their products. Other women love it when they have packages of clothes they bought from stores. I'm built differently because I experience that joy when I carry a paper bag with an Uncle Tetsu cheesecake inside.

Pandan Coconut. Just get it. You'll thank me later. My only regret is that I didn't get two bc I had to arm wrestle my nephew for the last piece. Light and airy. Full of flavor. Before I delved my teeth into the first bite, the aromatic flavors filled up my senses that I began to drool. Need to make a trip back before I leave. So so good

I love uncle tetsu! I picked a small order up from a pop up at the 2026 San Gabriel Latern Festival. at the San Gabriel Mission District. I love Uncle Tetsu's fluffy Japanese cheesecakes that are baked from scratch daily! The cheesecakes melt in your mouth, my partner and I love the texture of these! Would recommend and come back.

Ugh I always crave uncle tetsu, so soft and jiggly. They are having a deal right now if you spent over 10 bucks you get a box of cookies? Idk I got a pamphlet- need to redeem the pamphlet Ordered an original cheesecake with a ube and original cheese tart!!! 24 bucks Devoured

Fly me to the moon Let me play among the stars And let me see what spring is like On a-Jupiter and Mars... It's so fluffy!! Is all I can think of when you take your first bite. It looks like a full moon when you open the box. Staff is very helpful if you have any questions. 5/5 Original It was soft and moist. We went with the original at the recommendation of the lady helping us out. Wifey wanted to try it and we are so glad we did. She really enjoy every bite. The kids devoured them rest at home. My son wanted more the next day (thanks Uncle Tetsu for creating a monster). We will be flying to Uncle Tetsu for our next full moon once the baby here. But you don't have to wait to have piece today. God bless

The cakes are always bomb, but at the same time, it's in a mall so the workers there don't really work that hard and the ambiance is pretty bad. If you want to eat the cake there, you'll need to go to another part of the mall and use regular mall seating.

This is located in the corner so you might miss it. I missed the hype when it first started because I'm not a Cali resident but after trying it, this was some of the best cheesecake I have had in my life. It is Japanese style so the cake is fluffy but still full of flavor. It isn't overly sweet and honestly feels like you're eating a cloud. I suggest getting the original if it's your first time. If you're alone, put it in the fridge and cut slices out. Otherwise, it could be a great potluck option. My bf and I finished the whole cake so... Note that if you decide to get a cheesecake, just know they do not sell by the slice. You have to get the entire cake.

Uncle Tetsu is the best! Their Japanese cheesecake is super light, fluffy and not too sweet! The original is my favorite. I can easily eat half the cheesecake by myself in one sitting.

    Definitely not black sesame flavor!

This past Monday, I went there to get black sesame cheesecake. But when I went home, I got the original flavor. The lady at the front desk is not paying attention even though it wasn't busy at all ( no one in line). Very disappointed !

Nothing can go wrong with Uncle Tetsu! From food to service, everything was great! They are not as busy when they first opened so service is much faster and the quality of cheesecake is still pretty much the same! I like to refrigerate my cheesecake because I like the texture when it's cold.

Uncle Tetsu Located on the second floor of the Shops at Santa Anita, near Din Tai Fung and next to Noodle Street, Uncle Tetsu specializes in Japanese cheesecake that stands out for its unique qualities. The cheesecakes here are incredibly fluffy, light, and not as dense as traditional cheesecakes, offering a delightful texture and pleasant taste. At only $14 for a full-size regular cheesecake, the price is very reasonable, especially given the quality. This location used to be bustling, but business seems to have slowed down. Despite that, the staff remains friendly and quick, often offering free samples, which is a nice touch. Uncle Tetsu deserves more love and support--I always make it a point to grab one of their cheesecakes whenever I'm at the mall. It's a great treat and definitely worth trying!

FIVE Stars!! I love Uncle Tetsu period, so it really doesn't matter which location I go to because the product always satisfies! I came to this location forever ago to pick up a boba kit (for a Yelp pick up event) back in the post-covid era days. Yes, G, the one you and I never got around to making... like ever?! LOL This location is inside the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia. The staff was friendly and quick to bag up my order. I love the fluffy Japanese cheesecakes here. They are always consistent and I've never had an issue whatsoever. Prices have indeed gone up since my visit 3 years ago, lol, but that is to be expected every year. I am still a fan, and will continue to be one. If you haven't tried Uncle Tetsu, you need to! =)

Kyuramen x TBaar brings together a Japanese-inspired ramen restaurant and bubble tea café under one…read moreroof, offering a menu that extends well beyond ramen. We walked into a space that stands out for its modern interior, featuring private wooden booth seating that creates a cozy, semi-private dining experience, the kind of setup that makes the meal feel more intimate than a typical ramen shop. The atmosphere feels contemporary and social, with a clean, thoughtfully designed layout that works well for both casual dinners and group outings, and the attached TBaar makes it easy to finish the meal with a specialty tea or dessert without leaving the restaurant. While ramen is the restaurant's signature, many of the menu's standout dishes are actually found elsewhere. The omurice is one of the most popular items, served with a fluffy egg and rich demi-glace or curry sauce that makes it one of the restaurant's signature comfort dishes, and the presentation, with the egg split open at the table, adds a theatrical element to the meal. Other highlights include yakitori, bao buns, katsu, takoyaki, and appetizers that give the menu plenty of variety. The ramen itself is solid, with options ranging from traditional tonkotsu to the Yin Yang Ramen that lets you sample both spicy and non-spicy broths in one bowl, though the quality of the ramen can feel less memorable than some of the restaurant's other specialties, the broth lacking the depth and complexity that defines a dedicated ramen shop. The attached TBaar also adds another layer to the experience with milk teas, fruit teas, and desserts that pair well with the meal. Matcha tiramisu, Japanese cherry blossom jelly, and other sweets help round out the menu, making it easy to stay for dessert instead of stopping somewhere else afterward, and the drinks are well prepared, with the tea flavors coming through clearly without being overly sweet. The restaurant's design is one of its biggest strengths. The wooden booths provide a semi-private dining experience, and the overall space feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating an environment that encourages lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. Service is generally friendly and welcoming, though it can slow down during busier periods as the restaurant fills up, with the team handling the steady flow but sometimes taking longer to check in when the dining room is at capacity. The overall experience remains positive, and the pace of the meal stays comfortable even when the service stretches. Kyuramen x TBaar offers more than just ramen. The inviting atmosphere, diverse menu, and combination of savory dishes, drinks, and desserts make it a well-rounded dining destination. While the ramen may not be the strongest reason to visit compared to some dedicated ramen shops, the omurice, appetizers, desserts, and unique dining experience make it a place worth trying, especially if you are looking for variety rather than focusing on a single dish. The balance of creativity, comfort, and a polished setting makes it a versatile option for a meal that feels more like an experience than a quick stop.

While we tried each flavor, she described each of its components in great detail - something I truly appreciated!! Everything was delicious but I personally ended up getting the Mango Sago and Vietnamese Coffee (probably would not mix the two next time lol but delicious individually). The mango sago tasted like fresh mangoes and reminded me of a rich high quality mango sorbet. SO. Good. The perfect summer treat! Vietnamese coffee tasted exactly like how the drink would taste, which I was honestly surprised about since coffee ice creams are flavored a bit sweeter than the actual drink. It was perfect for me but may not be everyone's cup of tea because it does have bitterness :) The ambiance in there is amazing - details in every cranny and nook of the space. It's retro and very chill / relaxing! There are a very limited amount of tables but I did see stacks of plastic stools for people to sit on outside. Softer than boba, soft like jello, yet has that chewy, gooey texture. Not my favorite texture, but glad I tried it. I just saw that they had black sesame flavor too, but I was in such a rush, I must have missed it on the menu. Comes with a little bottle of brown sugar syrup, which is rich in brown sugar flavor and quite sweet too. When poured over the warabimochi, it does only taste like the brown sugar syrup. I would recommend that you eat the warabimochi with ice cream. I didn't order any at the store, but ate the ice cream I had at home. Choice of ice cream was Straus Family Creamery's Vanilla Bean. It didn't overpower the warabimochi flavors of the matcha or kinako, it simply added more creaminess and additional texture to the dessert. Also, you can get a firmer texture when you put the warabimochi in the fridge overnight, which I thought was much better and enjoyable to eat. HOJICHA CLOUD Very good hojicha flavor. But mostly it is cream. Hence, the name Cloud. I got it 100% sweetness and I asked for warabimochi pieces added to the drink. They give you a boba straw to drink. Warabimochi was very soft, light chewiness, cut into smaller pieces. The drink was very slightly on the sweeter side, but it's that or 50% sweetness level. There was a lot of ice in it, which means there's less hojicha drink too. Got it in medium size. Small size and medium size cost difference is 0.75 cents. Best to get a medium size. There's also a large size, which is much bigger in comparison to the medium. STRAWBERRY MATCHA CLOUD This had a good matcha and strawberry flavor all around. They also added warabimochi in this drink too. The matcha is a cream top and the rest is strawberries with milk. It tasted good and not overly sweet. This was 100% sweetness. Personally wished there wasn't any warabimochi in it, but it automatically comes with the drink. Did not realize there would be any in it too until after I ordered it. I would reorder the drinks. Maybe order one without warabimochi though. I would try their other drink offerings too. I haven't tried their black sesame warabimochi, so might return to try that one. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly customer service. Only two people working. Warabimochi came out first, then the drinks. Everything came out in order and quickly. LOCATION Located at Santa Anita Mall. We ordered a mango smoothie, a camelia milk tea, and hojicha latte. The milk tea was great, just the right sweetness at 75%. The hojicha was so good! 50-75% recommended.
