The service here always mid. The cheesecakes always mid as well. I usually don't like to make comparison, but since it is the same brand, it should be ok. Previously, I purchased from uncle Tetsu in Rosemead. The one that shares the same plaza as Walmart. The service there was amazing. Very friendly guy staff. Also, offered samples to all customers. The quality of the cheesecake was also so much better. I once ordered the Pandan from this location. It was somewhat nasty so I never got it again. When I went to the Rosemead location, they offered samples of the Pandan. It was so good that I ended up getting one. The employees in this location seem unhappy all the time. No smiles. They be staring at you like something is wrong with you..there were times when they left some samples, but we didn't even want it. Like their so unfriendly faces makes you wanna purchase and leave right away. Will just get the cheesecakes in Rosemead from now on.
The burnt basque cheesecake never disappoints! They also had it in Ube flavor. I wish they had samples but they didn't. Love this place and their products. Other women love it when they have packages of clothes they bought from stores. I'm built differently because I experience that joy when I carry a paper bag with an Uncle Tetsu cheesecake inside.

Never tried the Basque cheesecake and the guy sold it to me that they had this limited flavor taro for a couple more weeks so I got a whole cake lol. It was worth it to surprise family and kids with something purple. Black Sesame is also worthwhile to try.

I love uncle tetsu! I picked a small order up from a pop up at the 2026 San Gabriel Latern Festival. at the San Gabriel Mission District. I love Uncle Tetsu's fluffy Japanese cheesecakes that are baked from scratch daily! The cheesecakes melt in your mouth, my partner and I love the texture of these! Would recommend and come back.

The cakes are always bomb, but at the same time, it's in a mall so the workers there don't really work that hard and the ambiance is pretty bad. If you want to eat the cake there, you'll need to go to another part of the mall and use regular mall seating.
This is located in the corner so you might miss it. I missed the hype when it first started because I'm not a Cali resident but after trying it, this was some of the best cheesecake I have had in my life. It is Japanese style so the cake is fluffy but still full of flavor. It isn't overly sweet and honestly feels like you're eating a cloud. I suggest getting the original if it's your first time. If you're alone, put it in the fridge and cut slices out. Otherwise, it could be a great potluck option. My bf and I finished the whole cake so... Note that if you decide to get a cheesecake, just know they do not sell by the slice. You have to get the entire cake.
Uncle Tetsu is the best! Their Japanese cheesecake is super light, fluffy and not too sweet! The original is my favorite. I can easily eat half the cheesecake by myself in one sitting.

FIVE Stars!! I love Uncle Tetsu period, so it really doesn't matter which location I go to because the product always satisfies! I came to this location forever ago to pick up a boba kit (for a Yelp pick up event) back in the post-covid era days. Yes, G, the one you and I never got around to making... like ever?! LOL This location is inside the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia. The staff was friendly and quick to bag up my order. I love the fluffy Japanese cheesecakes here. They are always consistent and I've never had an issue whatsoever. Prices have indeed gone up since my visit 3 years ago, lol, but that is to be expected every year. I am still a fan, and will continue to be one. If you haven't tried Uncle Tetsu, you need to! =)

whenever I am shopping at the Arcadia Mall, stopping at Uncle Tetsu is a must. I never leave the mall without picking up some cheesecakes, one for me :), sometimes one for my niece and one for my mom, too. The cheesecakes are light, airy, and full of flavor. They're softer and less sugary than traditional American cheesecakes, which makes them feel delicate and refined. They usually offer six or seven flavors, and occasionally drop a limited edition seasonal one. If you haven't tried a Japanese cheesecake at this spot before, this is the place. Uncle Tetsu is known for its yummy cheesecake. However, if you are not used to Asian pastries, it can be an acquired taste, and it is definitely not the typical cheesecake one might picture. This cheesecake is more like a light and fluffy poundcake, and it's not very sweet. I think people either love it or hate it, and I'm one of the former. If you want something, a little bit sweeter, however, I would recommend the cheese tart, which is really good. It comes in different flavors. I personally like the ube one, but there are several flavors to choose from like mango. Uncle Tetsu locations are typically in malls, but there are not very many. It's usually a small small walk up counter with red and white decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

The Pandan coconut does not taste like pandan. The color is very vibrant unlike the display, it's concerning. But overall, I LOVE the original, definitely recommend it! Just not the Pandan Coconut. read more

I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake but I really enjoy the Japanese-style cheesecakes and Uncle Tetsu's are pretty decent. They're light, spongy, and not too sweet - with a soufflé style texture and not as heavy as traditional cheesecakes. We were in the mall having dinner and decided to grab a Tetsu cheesecake for dessert. They have an intriguing seasonal Cherry Blossom flavor and the staff was kind enough to give us a little sample. It has a light rose flavor and is interesting but I was expecting cherry so it threw me off a bit haha. It's very pretty with flowers embedded in the top but I just wasn't feeling it so we went with one of our usual faves and got an Ube cheesecake. As mentioned, I love the texture - and it's a lovely mild dessert but the Ube flavor is too light imo. It would be excellent if it was stronger. Still a decent dessert option. Staff are friendly enough and efficient. We visited around 6pm on a Friday night and service was very fast - we were in and out once we decided on a flavor. Prices are reasonable as well and they have several other dessert options such as basque style cheesecakes and cheese tarts. Their branding and packaging is super cute too and makes good gifts. This past Monday, I went there to get black sesame cheesecake. But when I went home, I got the original flavor. The lady at the front desk is not paying attention even though it wasn't busy at all ( no one in line). Very disappointed ! read more

The staff is always so nice and gives us free samples. The day we went, they brought out a fresh batch of their seasonal cherry blossom flavor! Personally, I was not a huge fan of that flavor because it tasted like rose water to me. I appreciate that they let me sample it though! I ended up opting for their original flavor cheesecake and like always, it's 10/10. - Original Cheesecake (5/5): yum yum yum! It's not like the traditional super creamy cheesecake on a crust but instead, it's more cake-like. Even though it's cakey, it's not extremely dry like a normal cake. The cheesecake is also not overly sweet which is perfect since I'm not too much of a sweet tooth, but it has just enough sweetness to satisfy my need for a sweet treat. My words do not do it justice and you have to try it out for yourself! :) - Original Cheese Tart (5/5): It was my first time trying this menu item and it really surprised me! I didn't expect the flavor to be so different from a regular egg tart, but it was.. in the best way! I loved it and savored every bite; the texture, flavor, everything! If you haven't already given Uncle Tetsu a try, you have to add it to your list. A whole cheesecake was $14 and a cheese tart was $4.50 each, which is very worth it. It's located in Santa Anita Mall, near Din Tai Fung and next to Noodle Street. They do to-go orders but there are tables that you can sit and enjoy your food nearby. read more
Uncle Tetsu is the gold standard for Japanese cheesecakes--light, fluffy, and packed with that rich cheese flavor. I've tried the original, matcha, and ube flavors, and all are absolutely delicious. The ube especially blew me away--perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a strong ube taste that doesn't overwhelm. It's so addicting, you could easily eat the whole cake in one sitting! Took a hot minute for us to decide what we wanted. Service was patient and accommodating with our indecisiveness. Worth a visit for those cheese tarts. Perfect crust with the great British baking show "no soggy bottoms!" Topped with a perfect white chocolate branded coin. The cheese filling is somewhere in between a NY cheesecake and custard. Silky smooth loved the slight tart flavor on the original. Also had a nice toast sort of mimicking buttered toffee. It was just the right amount to share one. I actually preferred the cheese tart over the cheesecake. We sampled the black sesame cheesecake. Nice and light sponge with the subtle flavor sprinkle you'll have to search for on your tastebuds. Would definitely return for a cheese tart! On the second floor next to Nordstrom and Noodle St. there's tables and chairs further down the path to sit and enjoy. read more

We always love the Japanese cheese cake and glad they started baking onsite again! My mom and I love the ube and the original flavors. The price has gone up over the years a bit but it's fun to get the cheesecake and see how my mom enjoys it. The lady behind the counter was patient and understanding. There isn't much room to comment on the ambiance since it's part of the food court at the mall and this is only counter service. I give it 5 stars for its consistency in flavor and service! read more
We always go to Uncle Tetsu to buy Japanese cheesecakes especially when we go to the Shops in Santa Anita. We like it a lot because it's light and fluffy and It's not too sweet or dense. Each cake costs $14, it's not cheap but my whole family loves it. We tried the new flavor S'Mores but we didn't like it very much (except the packaging was so pretty). Our favorite flavors are the Original, Matcha, and Strawberry. We also tried Ube but we still prefer the Original one instead. read more

It's been a few years since we've been enjoying Japanese pastries from this branch at the Santa Anita mall. Uncle Tetsu offers a variety of cakes and pastries that are perfectly curated by these wonderful and heavenly creations. Today, I picked up their Japanese cakes which is very cheesy but not sweet, hearty and creamy but not watery, wholesome and a taste of heaven on earth. Wonderfully crafted and expertly baked with the finest flour, nicely packaged and carefully bagged by a smiling and polite staff. The price is very reasonable for an exceptional dessert and a unique blend of ingredients that competitors have been trying to replicate for many years. Other Asian bakeries claim to have replicated this creation but NO ONE has yet to pride themselves close enough to equal its perfectly curated dessert. So, if you really want a perfectly curated dessert, try Uncle Tetsu and taste the difference between mainstream cakes against the best dessert that is heaven on earth. read more

An absolute gem in the Arcadia mall for desserts. I came here today because it is my birthday. I wanted a cake but not expensive. Also a cake that isn't high in added sugar and high fructose corn syrup like other places. The cake was small and spongey similar to funnel cake. However, the texture and fluff is condensed and is very soft. The flavor I got was the cheesecake original. It contains eggs and a variety of other ingredients such as Japanese flour and milk. The cake itself is obviously not healthy, but compared to cheesecake factory and 85 degrees, this place is tastier. I don't live close to this mall and surprisingly the mall is very much alive. A ton of people came today on December 14th. Alot of asians young and elderly. Then again this mall is enormous and if I were to compare it to my own, this mall blows it out of the water. The environment is bizarre. The place is located in a corner where there is only one entrance and exit specifically leading to the place. It is hidden behind two restaurants which I will also be doing a review on called "noodle street" and "Din Tai Fung". The service as it was years ago was better. The woman at the front had a grumpy and unappealing face. If she smiled, it would have been unappealing regardless, but she was annoyed when I took a sample of their chocolate flavored cake. Because the toothpick came out of the hole of one of the slices. We also ordered two ube and matcha flavored tarts of which both being excellent. The flavor and texture was sweet and delicious. They ran for $4 each. The cake I ordered was about 14$. I recommend coming here as this is my all time favorite cake given the price. I tried 85 degrees, portos bakery, summery bakery and assal pastry and yet none of them taste as succulent as uncle tetsu. I will be back again in the future. But hopefully inflation doesn't put them out. read more

This bakery is across from Din Tai Fung on the side of the restaurant towards the back. They bake the Japanese cheesecake on a daily basis so it's always fresh. The girl that took our order said it would take 20 minutes to make the Pandan Coconut because they ran out. The traditional cheesecake was ready but we decided to pick them up at the same time. She was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was well lit and clean. The Pandan Coconut was amazingly delicious. It's sprinkled with coconut shred on top and none on the inside which was perfect. The traditional cheesecake was good too but the Pandan Coconut was better. We came on lunar new year so the logo on the cheesecake represented the festivities. I highly recommend coming here. read more
Came here to buy dessert as gifts for a friend get together. With the packaging and adorable bag, it really is a great gift! There was no line, which is great considering how insane the line was a few years ago. We were able to sample their seasonal flavor s'mores. Staff was friendly and helpful. Two cakes was just enough for nine people, but if you eat more, maybe get three. The cakes were airy, tasty, and cute. The pandan flavor wasn't super strong, so you could mainly taste the coconut. You can't go wrong with the original flavor. I think we'll try the ube next time! read more
Well, came here at 5:30 pm on a Monday and they're closed. No sign. Google says they're open until 8 pm. Yelp says 9 pm. Everything else around it was open. Called the number and nobody picked up. I'm a semi-regular customer of Uncle Tetsu and that's because of the soft fluffy cheese cake that I enjoy. Located in the Santa Anita mall in Arcadia next to Noodle Street and Din Tai Fong, Uncle Tetsu is a convenient grab and go store when you're in rush. There are various flavors from original, to strawberry, oreo, and matcha. Although I've tried the oreo and strawberry, I still enjoy the original the best for the classic taste that's not overpowered by the other flavors. Service is usually quick and they have the cakes ready when you order. They also give you membership cards so you get your 10th cake free (they stamp on your card to keep track how many you've purchased). The cakes are small to moderate size so if you have a large gathering, one will likely not be enough. read more
Fluffy Delicious Japanese cake and dessert. It is located inside Santa Anita Mall, just next to Den Tai Fung and Nordstrom in the second floor. Simon was our server. He was very nice and efficient. We were lucky because there was no line when we arrived. We ordered the following: - Original Cheesecake $13 -Ube Cheesecake $13 - Chocolate cheese tart $4.50 each -Matcha Cheese tart $4.50 each Everything was spectacular. The Ube cheesecake was well balanced between ube and the taste of cheese. If you are Ube lovers like myself, you should try this one.The original cheesecake was also perfect, fluffy and creamy. I don't usually write reviews, but today's experience was disappointing enough to speak up. I came to this location with my toddler. I wasn't dressed up--just a plain white tee, shorts, no makeup, and a Mickey Mouse backpack (yes, the mom look). As a VIC customer for brands like Chanel, Harry Winston, and Hermès, I'm used to interacting with people who understand the importance of respect and discretion, regardless of how a customer is dressed. Sadly, one staff member here failed that basic standard today. I picked up a free sample to let my son try, and immediately noticed a subtle but very visible shift in her attitude--cold, dismissive, and visibly irritated. I decided to purchase a slice of the cake, but as she walked out to serve me, she muttered something under her breath to her coworker that clearly suggested I was being a nuisance. I gave her a long look. She seemed startled. I said, "If you don't want to sell, I won't buy." She instantly panicked and started apologizing. But by then, the atmosphere had already been ruined. I stood off to the side, quietly took two photos. She saw me and didn't dare look back. It's not about the cake. It's about the energy. If you can't recognize when someone walks in with quiet grace, don't assume silence equals insignificance. This brand's reputation is too valuable to be handled by staff who lack judgment. I sincerely hope this was an isolated case--but I won't be returning to this location, and I suggest management revisit how they train their front-line team in handling diverse customers--especially moms. Hi. The business hours on this page says open Mon-Fri from 10 am - 9 pm but on the page to prepaid for the cakes. You guys are closed Mon, Wed and Fri. Other days are open from 12 pm - 4 pm. Can you clarify please?

I've had mine in the fridge for three days so far (having it as breakfast this week), and it still tastes pretty good! I haven't tried anything else, but I imagine you can keep in freezer in a ziplock bag but texture might change
