The service here always mid. The cheesecakes always mid as well. I usually don't like to make comparison, but since it is the same brand, it should be ok. Previously, I purchased from uncle Tetsu in Rosemead. The one that shares the same plaza as Walmart. The service there was amazing. Very friendly guy staff. Also, offered samples to all customers. The quality of the cheesecake was also so much better. I once ordered the Pandan from this location. It was somewhat nasty so I never got it again. When I went to the Rosemead location, they offered samples of the Pandan. It was so good that I ended up getting one. The employees in this location seem unhappy all the time. No smiles. They be staring at you like something is wrong with you..there were times when they left some samples, but we didn't even want it. Like their so unfriendly faces makes you wanna purchase and leave right away. Will just get the cheesecakes in Rosemead from now on.

The burnt basque cheesecake never disappoints! They also had it in Ube flavor. I wish they had samples but they didn't. Love this place and their products. Other women love it when they have packages of clothes they bought from stores. I'm built differently because I experience that joy when I carry a paper bag with an Uncle Tetsu cheesecake inside.

Was at the mall wasting time and decided to buy a small individual item for my mom as an afternoon tea treat at home. Never tried the Basque cheesecake and the guy sold it to me that they had this limited flavor taro for a couple more weeks so I got a whole cake lol. It was worth it to surprise family and kids with something purple. Black Sesame is also worthwhile to try.

Pandan Coconut. Just get it. You'll thank me later. My only regret is that I didn't get two bc I had to arm wrestle my nephew for the last piece. Light and airy. Full of flavor. Before I delved my teeth into the first bite, the aromatic flavors filled up my senses that I began to drool. Need to make a trip back before I leave. So so good

I love uncle tetsu! I picked a small order up from a pop up at the 2026 San Gabriel Latern Festival. at the San Gabriel Mission District. I love Uncle Tetsu's fluffy Japanese cheesecakes that are baked from scratch daily! The cheesecakes melt in your mouth, my partner and I love the texture of these! Would recommend and come back.

Fly me to the moon Let me play among the stars And let me see what spring is like On a-Jupiter and Mars... It's so fluffy!! Is all I can think of when you take your first bite. It looks like a full moon when you open the box. Staff is very helpful if you have any questions. 5/5 Original It was soft and moist. We went with the original at the recommendation of the lady helping us out. Wifey wanted to try it and we are so glad we did. She really enjoy every bite. The kids devoured them rest at home. My son wanted more the next day (thanks Uncle Tetsu for creating a monster). We will be flying to Uncle Tetsu for our next full moon once the baby here. But you don't have to wait to have piece today. God bless

The cakes are always bomb, but at the same time, it's in a mall so the workers there don't really work that hard and the ambiance is pretty bad. If you want to eat the cake there, you'll need to go to another part of the mall and use regular mall seating.

This is located in the corner so you might miss it. I missed the hype when it first started because I'm not a Cali resident but after trying it, this was some of the best cheesecake I have had in my life. It is Japanese style so the cake is fluffy but still full of flavor. It isn't overly sweet and honestly feels like you're eating a cloud. I suggest getting the original if it's your first time. If you're alone, put it in the fridge and cut slices out. Otherwise, it could be a great potluck option. My bf and I finished the whole cake so... Note that if you decide to get a cheesecake, just know they do not sell by the slice. You have to get the entire cake.

Uncle Tetsu is the best! Their Japanese cheesecake is super light, fluffy and not too sweet! The original is my favorite. I can easily eat half the cheesecake by myself in one sitting.

Nothing can go wrong with Uncle Tetsu! From food to service, everything was great! They are not as busy when they first opened so service is much faster and the quality of cheesecake is still pretty much the same! I like to refrigerate my cheesecake because I like the texture when it's cold.

Uncle Tetsu Located on the second floor of the Shops at Santa Anita, near Din Tai Fung and next to Noodle Street, Uncle Tetsu specializes in Japanese cheesecake that stands out for its unique qualities. The cheesecakes here are incredibly fluffy, light, and not as dense as traditional cheesecakes, offering a delightful texture and pleasant taste. At only $14 for a full-size regular cheesecake, the price is very reasonable, especially given the quality. This location used to be bustling, but business seems to have slowed down. Despite that, the staff remains friendly and quick, often offering free samples, which is a nice touch. Uncle Tetsu deserves more love and support--I always make it a point to grab one of their cheesecakes whenever I'm at the mall. It's a great treat and definitely worth trying!

FIVE Stars!! I love Uncle Tetsu period, so it really doesn't matter which location I go to because the product always satisfies! I came to this location forever ago to pick up a boba kit (for a Yelp pick up event) back in the post-covid era days. Yes, G, the one you and I never got around to making... like ever?! LOL This location is inside the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia. The staff was friendly and quick to bag up my order. I love the fluffy Japanese cheesecakes here. They are always consistent and I've never had an issue whatsoever. Prices have indeed gone up since my visit 3 years ago, lol, but that is to be expected every year. I am still a fan, and will continue to be one. If you haven't tried Uncle Tetsu, you need to! =)

Service: 5/5 No complaints on service, staff are nice and quick, although it will get quite busy on the weekends. Food: 4/5 Omiurice w/ Demi-glace: 5/5 First Impressions, their omurice is amazing! The egg was cooked perfectly, it was very fluffy, and runny, paired with the demi-glace sauce which made it savory. The rice beneath was a nice addition too. They also come to your table and cut it open for you there, giving you the option to record for social media and etc. Thai tea: 3.5/5 So they have a little TBAR i belive inside, and you can order items separately, although this thai tea came with my order i believe. Its honestly pretty solid, but I'd say that it was a little bit sweet, and the cup is pretty small. Overall, id give it a 4/5. Its more of a resturant where you'd wanna go out and eat eith friends or experience something new, but other then that, its fairly busy most of the time, and parking is a bit hard to find. .

Come for the food, but LOOK AT THIS PLACE…read more Okay, I have to start with the atmosphere because this place is absolutely STUNNING. The second you walk in, there is so much to look at. The woodwork, the hanging wooden plaques, the Japanese-inspired décor, the trees throughout the restaurant, the lighting, and especially the little honeycomb-style booths built into the walls. It almost feels like you've stepped into this little Japanese village rather than just another restaurant. Whoever designed this place understood the assignment. I went during the week, so thankfully it wasn't very crowded, and my friend and I were able to sit upstairs in one of the honeycomb booths. If one is available, DO IT. It made the whole experience that much more fun, and you get such a cool view of the restaurant from up there. Now, FOOD. I ordered the Pork Tonkatsu Omurice with curry sauce, which comes with chicken fried rice wrapped in that beautiful fluffy omelet, topped with pork tonkatsu and curry. When they bring it out, they actually ask if you'd like to record the presentation before they cut/open the egg--which, obviously, YES. It's one of those little touches that turns ordering food into an actual experience. And it was BOMB. The egg was fluffy, the pork tonkatsu had that crispy texture, and everything worked really well with the fried rice and curry. The curry itself isn't particularly spicy, so if you're someone who doesn't tolerate much heat, don't let the word curry scare you. It had plenty of flavor without being hot. Personally, I like my food SPICY spicy, so I added some extra spice to mine, but that's completely personal preference. I also ordered the Thai iced tea, and that was delicious--fresh, creamy, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted with the meal. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the food, but I think the atmosphere is what pushed the experience over the top for me. The restaurant itself is just SO COOL. There are restaurants where you eat, leave, and that's it--and then there are places where you're looking around the entire time because you keep noticing another little detail. KYURAMEN was definitely the latter. Good food + Thai tea + an omurice presentation + sitting inside a freaking honeycomb booth overlooking this gorgeous restaurant? Yeah. I'm coming back. Tip: If you have the option to sit in one of the elevated honeycomb booths, absolutely take it. It makes the experience.

Kinda makes me think, "Is this where all the cool kids go?" said by: definitely not a cool kid me. My gal friend and I always want dessert and believe life is always better with sweets. It was around 9 pm already, and of course, we wanted something sweet to end our day. The plaza on Duarte Rd is pretty dark, but 626 Ice Cream was the bright corner filled with tons of people in line, even at 9 pm. They have their posted in a few spots in the line so customers can check out the flavors. My friend was happy there is something non-dairy for her, which was the Mango Sago flavor. They seem to change up their ice cream flavors every now and then I noticed, which is so fun! It was our first time here, and the man who helped us was very sweet in letting me try all the 6 flavors and pick my favorite. I ended up with their Cereal Ice Cream flavor which tasted like a childhood milk & cereal breakfast, the sweet milk you drink after you finished your cereal. I thought "wow!" This was totally it and I fell in love with it. I also want to mention their Yakult flavor was amazing as well; it's the perfect tartness I love in Yakult drinks and had just a teeny bit of sweetness to it. It's great for those friends you may have in your life who just want a little bit of sweetness. Their toppings are so fun, and I would just go back for their toppings to be honest. I asked the team member to choose my toppings for me, you get 3 toppings if you get the mini cup size. So I got red bean, cacao nibs, and mochi. I would come back to eat this combination over and over again. My friend got a Mango Sago flavor, it's non-dairy, with Mochi and Fruit. She loved it as well and I got to try some of it - it packs a punch in mango flavor and is soooo good with their mochi! There is cozy seating inside, or you can totally be a cool kid and pick up one of those stools outside and sit in the parking lot. So nostaligic almost like a backyard party. I also love that they have asian toppings! My favorites have been the Mandarin and Yakult. I love that this spot is a community favorite because I'm always waiting in line to get my ice cream. They provide some card games if you wanna chat with friends! The spot has limited indoor seating as it's very tiny, but they also provide plastic chairs to sit outside in the parking lot. Most people sit outside on the chairs or bring it back to the car. I love that they provide free stickers, know your rights cards, and sell merch and Lactaid. I have yet to come to 626 ice cream during a community event like their Mahjong nights, but I know they collaborate with local orgs! Note that their prices are a little higher than regular soft serve spots, but I'm happy to support them as they pour back into their community. They definitely are worth the price with all the love that they put into their ice cream and their community.
