An associate noticed that I entered and wondered from aisle to aisle as a woman consumed by wanderlust prompted to assist my purchase. The associate Muntasir A. was efficient, friendly and professional. Vitamins as my defense from this plaguing global pandemic. The price was reasonable unlike national chain corporations competitors pharmacies. Royal Pharmacy lacks in a variety of brands as I was seeking Nature's Bounty for vitamins, but this deficiency is cured with the attentive customer service. read more

The so called female manager as she stated is so unprofessional and discourteous to elderly people. She told my mother that she does not "exist"because she could not find her in the system , what a way to express yourself to an elderly sick customer! My elderly mother explained that she has picked up her medication there before and that she is a customer there. My mother then repeatedly gave her the information she was requesting to try find her in the system and she still was incapable of brining her up and turned her away without her diabetes medication. Luckily another young lady that worked there was able to find my mother's medication. In rage that she could not find my mothers medication but her other coworker managed to find it she grabbed it from her hand examined it and accused my mother of giving her the wrong DOB instead of apologizing to my mom! As if that wasn't enough she threw the medication across the counter! This behavior is so distasteful and disturbing. Abusive to say the least. The owner should fire her for treating people like this especially an elderly woman. Please do not come here , save yourself the terrible experience. read more

Royal Pharmacy is wonderful -- and I wish that I had discovered this "hidden" gem sooner! Despite living across the street from them for years, I made the (incorrect) assumption that because they were an independent business the prices would be higher (like some bodegas in the area). However, after running out of dish soap one afternoon -- and not wanting to walk down to 207th Street, I went into Royal Pharmacy to see if they had any. Not only did they have a great selection of dish soap (and household cleaning products), but the prices on everything in the store were much MUCH lower than I've ever paid at Rite Aid for the exact same item! I don't even bother going to Rite Aid anymore (let alone Duane Reade or Walgreens) because I know that whatever we need, we can get it at Royal Pharmacy for a better price. When my prescriptions need to be refilled, I plan on transferring them to Royal because dealing with the Rite Aid / Walgreens / Duane Reade pharmacies is enough to give anyone an aneurysm. The employees at Royal are friendly, helpful, and always say hello when they see you...it is truly a great independent business! read more

I filled a Rx for my infant at Royal because the pharmacy is one of the few in the neighborhood to do compounding. My first impression was favorable, as my son liked the flavoring and the pharmacist included extra syringes for oral dosing. I then experienced a cascade of conduct violating the ethical codes of pharmacists (and likely NY State Law). I received an unexpected refill from the pharmacy by courier service, which I accepted because my son will eventually need it. When I went to put the med in the fridge, however, I discovered that the Rx was not compounded. This drug is controlled-substance for a reason, and the Rx requires very specific dosing down to 1/10th of a milliliter. Compounding obviously requires a licensed pharmacist working in a lab, but Royal apparently thinks it's okay for baby to just have dad blend the active agent and the diluent in the kitchen sink using measuring spoons. I would have given the pharmacy the benefit of the doubt on a lesser violation if not for this gross negligence. I also was neither asked nor consented to having my credit card number placed on file and being auto-billed for the Rx. It was also quite presumptuous to dispatch a courier to deliver something without checking whether we were home much less in need of a refill. Given these events it seems quite clear that pharmacological expertise and ethics take a back seat to billing at Royal. Before patronizing this business I would advise asking yourself, if a pharmacy takes such a cavalier attitude to dispensing prescriptions for a 3-month old baby, do you really trust them to get the dosing right for you and your loved ones? read more

This is a wonderful pharmacy. Although I don't live in the immediate area, I've had a few prescriptions filled at Royal over the past year. In each case, I've been extremely pleased with the courteous and professional service I've received.
