Unfortunately, I have to leave a negative review for Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy. When you pick up medication in person, the staff is courteous and professional. That part deserves acknowledgment. However, my experience with their delivery service has been consistently problematic, and at this point, unacceptable. I will not mention names, but the delivery drivers they outsource to are unreliable, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. I've experienced repeated delivery issues, including false claims that my address was incorrect, despite the fact that they have delivered to this same address before, albeit with ongoing problems. What makes this worse is the timing. There is an incoming snowstorm, and instead of clear communication or accountability, I'm receiving inaccurate information and excuses. Medication is not optional. This is not a package from an online retailer. This is someone's health. I am now seriously considering transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy should reevaluate the third-party delivery partners they choose to work with. Thank your delivery partner for losing patient trust and potentially compromising access to essential medication. Courtesy at the counter does not make up for a delivery failure. Reliability matters. Accountability matters. And right now, those standards are not being met. Very disrespectful and inconsiderate - they have no regard for the elderly and the disabled. read more

I asked for my meds to be delivered to me and the app told me that I'd receive them by 11:00 pm. Never happened. Next day, I call in the morning and am told that the cashier would call the driver and get back to me. They never did. When I called back 2.5 hours later, I am told that they did talk to the driver and my meds were back at the pharmacy and I could pick them up now. When I did, I also wanted to talk to the pharmacist about what happened as I was annoyed. His story about what happened didn't align with the cashier's and he couldn't give me a direct answer about why I never received the meds the day before. It was all double speak; Somehow my meds were both never picked up AND picked up. I don't like being misled. read more

This review is for their passport photo services. A little story: We needed a passport photo for my 1 year old. We thought the hardest part would be getting her to be still, not actually finding a place to do it. Even though The post office says on their website that they do passport photos, the leave out that there is an age cap on those photos. They pointed us across the street to a pharmacy in north riverdale who had a passport photo set up. Unfortunately, they couldn't lower the white screen and clearly didn't know much about babies as they kept suggested we prop our daughter up on our hand. She is too wobbly and heavy for such a feat. He attempted laying her on the ground, looking up, which unsurprisingly didn't work. Defeated, my husband and I headed home but the "passport photo" sign on Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy caught our eye. So I dropped my hubby off and walked over with my daughter. There was no sense at all that we were inconveniencing the staff their by asking to do an infant photo shoot. They were flexible, patient, And super creative to get what we needed. Inside is also so nice and clean and inviting. I highly recommend that if you need a passport photo for a we one (or anyone else) that you come here!! read more

Why I switched to Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy: I was so sick of standing on line for 20 minutes to pick up my Rx at either chain around the corner, only to be helped by a poor soul who was clueless and took another 10 minutes to find it and check me out. I was sick of asking a question about a medication and having the pharmacist too busy to answer me. I was sick of rude behavior and being treated as though they could not care less whether I was a customer there or not. I could give numerous examples, but anyone who shops at those places knows exactly what I'm talking about. Why I'm thrilled that I switched to Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy: I am greeted by name when I walk in, even if it is to buy vitamins, plastic gloves or cough drops. My calls are answered promptly, I am helped with any drug manufacturer "coupons" available, I am called when my Rx is ready and when I come to pick it up, I'm in and out within 5 minutes. It reminds me of the pharmacy of my childhood in a small town in CT. The service is service and I never feel like Stella (the incredible pharmacist) or any of the other wonderful and helpful staff are doing me a favor. read more

I am so happy I switched to this pharmacy from CVS/Rite Aid, I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. If the giant corporate pharmacies are impersonal, inflexible, incompetent, expensive and unwilling to work with your current insurance situation, then Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy is the complete opposite. Pharmacist Stella has worked with me and my doctors to reduce my prescription costs and she will chase down a hard-to-reach MD to get my refill. She understands my hectic work schedule and arranges for free delivery. This is what your pharmacist should be: a partner in your health care, and a vested business owner in the neighborhood. I want everyone to know that the pharmacist (Stella) at Riverdale Specialty Pharmacy went above and beyond to help my 18-month old daughter tonight. I needed an important medication that was not in stock in liquid form and before I'd walked from the pediatrician's office to the pharmacy to pick it up she'd already made arrangements to get it. She told me not to worry that she would resolve this and tonight. She stayed past closing time and indeed, came through. She even offered to personally drop it off. My daughter is home tonight and this medication is a key reason why we're not at a pediatric emergency room right now. I previously walked by this tiny pharmacy on Johnson Ave several times until one day, tired of the line at a local chain pharmacy to pick up a monthly med, decided to transfer my prescriptions. I love this little place, it has a big heart and brings me peace of mind. When Stella said tonight she'd resolve it, I believed her and I rarely believe anybody. My husband and I would like to encourage our neighborhood friends to support Riverdale Specialty PH. If we were at the chain pharmacy we can't imagine a similar result. read more
