I laughed cause one of them picked up a broom and was like: "I did it yesterday, it's so and so's turn today." Then there's the quality of food which is basically bare minimum - the cheapest possible available and it shows in taste and appearance. At least... at least the coffee was decent which was a pleasant surprise, and the omelette was actually pretty good and that's pretty much all I would have from there. I wish there would be more fresh fruit. The cinnamon rolls - very obviously from a can. The gravy for biscuits obviously from a pouch that had water added, heated and served. My children had been asking to go to Golden Corral, so we decided to make it a family night. I made every effort to be respectful and responsible with my service dog. I kept my body between him and the food line at all times, and he remained approximately four feet away from the food. My wife held my plate, and I simply told her what I wanted while she went through the line. Then, unexpectedly, I was approached by not one, but two individuals who never identified themselves as employees. They were dressed in street clothes with nothing indicating that they worked there. One of them began speaking to me in a raised and confrontational manner, telling me to keep my dog away from the food. The other told me that I had to keep my service dog underneath the table. At the time, I had no idea that the first person was actually the manager. I only found that out afterward when my wife went back to speak with management about what had happened. When we first arrived, we had intentionally chosen a large table away from other customers so that we could be respectful of everyone around us. My dog was not wandering around, approaching people, or interfering with the food. I also made sure to keep myself between him and the food line. The way I was approached and spoken to was completely unnecessary and, quite honestly, very upsetting. Regardless of the person's position, I believe there was a much more professional and respectful way to address any concerns. Shortly afterward, another customer approached me. This person had witnessed the entire situation and told me that, in their opinion, I had done nothing wrong. They specifically pointed out that my service dog had not been attracting attention, had not approached the food, and had not interfered with anyone. They also suggested that I contact corporate because they felt the way I was treated was unprofessional. My wife then went back and spoke with the manager, explaining what had happened and pointing out that another customer had witnessed the entire interaction. That's when we learned that the person who had initially confronted me was, in fact, the manager. At that point, we were simply looking for a family dinner. Instead, what should have been an enjoyable evening became an incredibly stressful and embarrassing experience. I understand that restaurants have rules regarding animals and food-service areas. I also understand the importance of keeping a service dog under control and being respectful of other customers. That is exactly what I was doing. What I don't understand is why the situation was handled the way it was. If management had a concern about my service dog, I would have been happy to have a respectful conversation about it. Instead, I felt publicly confronted and humiliated despite making every effort to be responsible and considerate. I hope management and corporate take the time to look into what happened, because people who rely on service dogs should be able to enjoy a meal with their families without being made to feel unwelcome or embarrassed when they are doing their best to follow the rules.

There were also two chicken fingers, clearly fried in oil dating from the Nixon -era. The chicken itself was chewy and sinewy. The only duck sauce came in packets, and it tasted like high viscosity, salty water -- who uses duck sauce packets these days anyway? But that's not what I'm here to tell you about; I'm here to tell you about what happened ten minutes later. My stomach became a veritable symphony of horrors. The sounds were akin to a butter knife in a sink disposal. I knew what was coming, and come it did. I spent the next few hours in a type of suffering I wouldn't wish on an enemy as the old, greasy, fluorescent food rained hatred down upon my stomach. I finally retreated to the couch, my body weakened and my soul defeated. Later that night, due in equal parts to my low IQ and my short memory, I decided to eat some of the pork fried rice leftovers. After all, there's no way this stuff really made me sick. It *had* to be a coincidence. Fried dumplings, crab rangoon... and the $14 "Cajun Spicy Rice w/Shrimp" was literally a bowl of Asian fried rice with shrimp, not the least bit spicy OR Cajun. They cover the table with a piece of brown paper, but the areas it doesn't reach were sticky like old kitchen grease. They bring the absolutely cheapest plastic utensils, the forks were so flimsy that we had trouble getting the meat out of the shell with them and finally had to ask if they had any metal ones. (They did, which begs the question, why don't they bring them to start?) They don't bring a nut cracker or a pick either, or even a table knife. It was a pretty messy meal. The lobster tails INCLUDED corn on the cob and potatoes, so we ended up with enough food for an entire second meal. In terms of the meal itself, it was pretty good. The Cajun fries were great, the onion rings too. I had some of the best fried whole clams and scallops of my life. The fried dumplings were also spectacular, though they don't offer dumpling sauce, only packets of soy sauce. The Cajun Rice was meh... it was disappointing for $14 and really hard to eat with the tiny plastic fork. The bill came to $104 before tip. Crazy that those prices don't justify real tableware. We'll definitely try it at least once more (maybe as takeout)... hopefully there will be a new server or she'll be in a better mood.
