Had not been here in years. Was looking for a place while on the areas that had carribean food. This restaurant meet the requirements. Conveniently located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking located in front of restaurant. The restaurant is a lot larger than it appears on the outside. Our server was very nice even though there were a few times I needed to use my very elementary spanish or google translate to ask for things. The meal was reasonably prices for a lunch buffet. Tons of food and dessert options to choose from. We had a good fining experience snd would ho again if in the area.

Mmmmm so yummy food assortment. Lol

When I'm craving something yummy where I may choose a wide variety of flavorful Dominican food, i come here. I always get sleepy after eating here because I'm very satisfied with the choices of flavorful food and the friendly staff.

An interesting spot in the heart of Springfield. Been here a couple times now. The service is decent, although sometimes hard to communicate with the staff. The food is pretty good, they have a large variety of authentic dishes. Pretty typical buffet style spot, could use some updates to the decor and seating. Overall not bad.

Stopped by on a Sunday early evening and this place was BUSY! We waited over 20 minutes to pay and be seated. There were so many families having a great time. The food is buffet style. You have to sanitize your hands and wear gloves to serve yourself food. You pay and you're seated. The food was very delicious. There was a wide assortment of food and definitely something for everyone. The servers were on the slow side to bring beverages and clear tables but we know there is a current shortage of employees. Be patient and be nice!

Took myself here from Connecticut on a little self date I like Spanish food as I am not Latino at all. I think a Spanish buffet is a dope idea. Food was 7.5/10 Their lemonade in plastic jar was good!

This is another spot that in the cut (strip mall) there use to be a chinese but there, but they closed down and was replaced by the latin (mexican) buffet. the food is great, the staff is friendly and the cost ( $23) is great for the amount of latin food that is offered and I would highly recommend this place.

If you are going to do a buffet in the Springfield area, this is the place. I actually haven't been for a while but Mesa came up the other day when I was chatting with family about where to get fried cheese. We LOVE this place. Keep in mind it caters to families so maybe not a fancy date place, but definitely a meet your friends, eat well, and blow your calorie budget place.

I'm going to say 3 1/2 stars. Exciting to see the only buffet of it's kind in the area featuring Hispanic food. The location was formerly an outdated Chinese restaurant and the new owners have renovated it into a tastefully decorated and comfortable buffet in a clean and inviting atmosphere. There were some good points and points that I felt needed improvement. Good Points: A very good price point for the value of all you can eat. A big variety of Spanish food including empanadas, rellenos (potato balls), roasted pork, soups, all kinds of rice, beans, malanga, yucca and a variety of meats and sides, including some American style sides like wings and mac n cheese. The sorullos de maiz were my favorite, yummy. The fresh fruit looks beautiful and there is a wide variety of desserts served in small portions so that you can try many things. Friendly staff. Points for improvement: Dirty plates sat on the table for an extended time before picked up. That seemed to be the trend looking around at other tables. Meats that are normally served crunchy like the fried pork (chicharrones) were soft/soggy and not crunchy. It also would be great if foods were labeled. For someone who would like to try Spanish food this buffet gives them the opportunity to try many different items. I think with a few adjustments I can raise my review stars. I'll visit again in the future. Best of all, I'm happy to see the foods of our culture being enjoyed in a restaurant that you can be proud to sit in. I wish this family tons and tons of success.

This restaurant is a very hidden gem! My girl-friend and I strolled in today on our lunch break and we're from NY so it was today or never. We came as soon as doors opened, literally. As soon as she opened the doors we were greeted so warmly by our hostess. The decorations and ambiance of the place was incredible! . It was very clean and even the women's bathroom was decorated so beautifully (see image below). We didn't smell any of the food when we walked in, their ventilation must be up to par (I would not be surprised) The lady who helped us out with some of the food was so nice and caring, even considering our language barrier! It was awesome. Now onto the food. Guys I'm not even bluffing when I say all my girl-friend and I could say was "this is really good" or "omg". I kid you not that's all the came out of our mouths while eating their food. Holy, their food is scrumptious and cooked to perfection. The chef/s really did put both feet in all of the food! (It's an expression) There is not one thing we did not like. Their tres leches is to die for! Their beef stew tasted exactly like my late grandmothers, it was very delicious and uncanny. They also had very great music choices, playing hits from Juanes and more, which reminded me of my childhood. It was really great. HOWEVER back to my original comment, this restaurant does not belong here at all. Not only is everything else in this plaza run down and sloppy looking, but we witnessed not one but TWO grand theft autos!! In a span of 2 hours. There was also the same folks scoping out the ride we came in!! Strange town, will not be back to stay but we will one thousand percent be back to Mesa Buffet. 11/10 recommend. Also pricing wasn't bad, it was 50$ for two of us.

Service was horrible. Never asked if I wanted water and took away plates. Plastic silverware. Most of the food was picked over.

It felt like eating out of a pig trough. And the food? It is pure upchuck. where's the ketchup - Lukewarm, old, and unappetizing. Nothing looked fresh, and the quality was so bad it was genuinely nauseating. The whole experience, from the chaos of the busy crowd to the complete lack of cleanliness, made me regret walking in the door. Would you recommend it? Absolutely not. The servers were attentive and super kind, always checking in on us and I even noticed how other servers were making conversation with customers, making them welcome. The food I got was good, however not everything was a bit as some items like my chicken and steak weren't fully cooked in spots, and did not have much in terms of flavor. However, considering a buffet constantly makes food in bulk for everyone, it would be foolish to expect everything to be perfect. For a big group or family, this is perfect but if I think with how small my family is, we would probably just go to another restaurant. Prices are fair so I would recommend you try it out if you are looking for buffet style in the area!

Nippon Grill and Seafood Buffet is one of the few buffets that still feels alive. The dining room…read morestays full, the trays move quickly, and the food comes out hot instead of drifting into that tired, lukewarm zone that ruins most buffets. The space itself is well kept and clean, which matters more than people admit. A buffet lives or dies on maintenance, and Nippon shows real discipline in how it's run. It is not perfect, but it gives you real value for the price, and that alone sets it apart in a landscape where many buffets have declined or disappeared. The strength of Nippon is its seafood. They offer baby clams, crayfish, mussels, fish dishes, and soups that are light enough to enjoy without burning out early. These dishes give the buffet a sense of generosity that many places have lost. The sushi is what you expect from a buffet, not a handcrafted experience, but it is fresh enough and replaced often. The hibachi station adds another layer of variety, and the constant movement of the crowd keeps the food cycling at a steady pace. The imperfections are predictable. Some dishes are filler. The room can get chaotic at peak times. A tray might sit empty for a moment before the next batch arrives. None of this is surprising, and none of it ruins the experience. It is simply the nature of a busy buffet that is trying to keep up with demand. There is one piece of advice that makes the difference between a short meal and a long, satisfying one. The worst way to approach a buffet is to load your first plate with dense, heavy foods. You fill up fast and the meal ends before it begins. Nippon rewards a smarter approach. Start with the low volume seafood. Begin with clams, fish, salads, soups, and crayfish. These dishes let you warm up without tapping out early. You can enjoy more of the spread and actually experience the variety that makes the place worth visiting. The truth is simple. Nippon is not trying to be refined. It is a big, lively, well maintained seafood buffet that gives you heat, turnover, and enough range to make the price feel fair. If you approach it with a little strategy, you can feast for a long time and walk out satisfied. I actually love this place.

He was pretty excited. We went on a Monday and there were only a few other people there. Major first issue, they no longer serve the boiled lobster that is front and center on their menu... only the lobster TALES for $41!! The menus are paper and could easily be marked to show they don't sell it... or at the very least the server could MENTION that it's not available when she brings the menus. I asked twice if the $41 was the price for JUST the lobster and she said that it was, so we ordered additional sides. The menu was unusual... SOME spicy seafood items mixed in with stuff you'd only ever see on a menu in an Asian Restaurant. Fried dumplings, crab rangoon... and the $14 "Cajun Spicy Rice w/Shrimp" was literally a bowl of Asian fried rice with shrimp, not the least bit spicy OR Cajun. The woman that seated and served us was absolutely FLAT in her demeanor. Everyone is human and people have bad days, but she didn't smile a single time. I told her we were celebrating his birthday and she didn't even NOD in acknowledgment, just stood silently waiting for us to order... it was awkward. We felt like we were putting her out, like she had somewhere else to be and couldn't be bothered. They cover the table with a piece of brown paper, but the areas it doesn't reach were sticky like old kitchen grease. They bring the absolutely cheapest plastic utensils, the forks were so flimsy that we had trouble getting the meat out of the shell with them and finally had to ask if they had any metal ones. (They did, which begs the question, why don't they bring them to start?) They don't bring a nut cracker or a pick either, or even a table knife. It was a pretty messy meal. The lobster tails INCLUDED corn on the cob and potatoes, so we ended up with enough food for an entire second meal. In terms of the meal itself, it was pretty good. The Cajun fries were great, the onion rings too. I had some of the best fried whole clams and scallops of my life. The fried dumplings were also spectacular, though they don't offer dumpling sauce, only packets of soy sauce. The Cajun Rice was meh... it was disappointing for $14 and really hard to eat with the tiny plastic fork. The bill came to $104 before tip. Crazy that those prices don't justify real tableware. We'll definitely try it at least once more (maybe as takeout)... hopefully there will be a new server or she'll be in a better mood.
