My girlfriend and I went here on a late Saturday afternoon. She had heard of it before but we had never eaten there before, so we gave it a shot. The food was excellent. My date had a salmon plate and I had the shellfish pasta plate. Crazy good. Our server was very courteous. We did have quite a wait on everything from our drinks to the meal, which was surprising as the place was empty. But the food presentation was excellent, so quality takes time? We've been wanting to try Masse's for a long time having driven past it for years. We walked in at about 6:30 PM, i'd say the restaurant was ~ 1/2 full. We were seated promptly and our drink order taken. I had the scorpion bowl for 1 (which was very good). For a starter we had a 1/2 dozen oysters, they were from the cape (not sure exactly where). They were fresh and briney and were served with horseradish, cocktail sauce, and a lemon wedge. I'd definitely order them again. For my main I opted for the blackened salmon over bacon and vegetable risotto. I was amazed at the amount of food that came out, it was pretty ginormous. I think that the salmon was cooked in the salamander, it was good, definitely not overcooked which was nice. The risotto was flavorful. I think that I got 3 meals out of it.. My family and I dined here ONCE and only once, and we were very disappointed with their handling of food safety. When we sat down, we were given a basket of bread balls that contained an already opened butter container. To test their sanitation, I marked one of the bread balls with a poke of my fork before asking for a replacement basket. When the server brought the "new" one, the same marked bread ball was still there -- meaning they simply reused the same basket instead of providing a fresh one. I just came back from Masses with my girl and she ordered the lobster and when she cracked open the tail we found what they said to lobster eggs or roe but the thing about it was that the eggs should have been red color after being boiled, these were still black so I don't know what that was. My girl immediately called the waitress over and told her to take it back. They were going to clean it out and send it back out to my girl, we'll she said ahe didn't want it and changed her order to peach salmon. The manager came out and said that she gave a discount for the inconvenience the discount was only $4.80 which we should have received a better discount or a free meal. read more

Stopped in after a day of travel for lunch. Bathroom was nice and clean, single use. Water was cold but it was stocked with soap and an air dryer. The dining area is really cute and spacious. I love that there's a lot of good natural lighting inside here without it being bothersome in any way. I chose the fish and chips small plate because we are eating lunch a little later than usual, and have a birthday dinner later (hence all the driving) and didn't want to be full at dinner. The lunch looked great when it came out, and was satisfying without leaving me feeling stuffed. The fries were nice & hot and crispy on the outside while being very fluffy on the inside. I had to make a conscious decision to STOP eating them!! I very much enjoyed them. The fish tasted great, too - light and flaky. Our server was friendly and service was efficient. Very happy for somewhere nice to stop for lunch after being all sugared up from the travel service station offering for breakfast this morning lol. read more

My husband and I just returned from dining at Masses. We had a wonderful time thanks to the manager Laurie and her wonderful waitstaff. (We had KiKi as our server.) Service was prompt and efficient and very friendly. The food was scrumptious. Food and beverage prices are very reasonable, and some entrees offer a small plate version. The outdoor dining is very relaxing and has good ambiance. (We've been enjoying this outdoor venue since 2020.) We were able to sit and relax to the music provided by Freddie Marion while enjoying an after-dinner cocktail. One of the best lobster bisque and clam strip I've had both cooked to perfection. Soft and buttery clams and hunks of lobster in the bisque. The sweet potato fries were great too. The dessert was amazing also. The prices were fair and our server was attentive and friendly. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars was the oysters we ordered as an appatizer came out with the food about 30 minutes to shuck 6 oysters from the bartender who was busy socializing with the 4 people at the bar and they weren't all detached from the shell. We went on. Saturday night. Almost everything we asked for, they were out of. They didn't have citron vodka or elderflower. They were out of brussels sprouts, and lettuce. The old-fashioned cod came out cold, and the potatoes were uncooked. The scallops were loaded with sand. I asked for the bib lettuce wrap, and they were out of lettuce. My mother asked for the squash Salad and they were out of brussels sprouts. So she couldn't get the risotto either because it had brussels sprouts in it. I came here with family to celebrate a birthday. They have a private room. Prices are super reasonable and the portions are HUGE. The pizzas are a hidden gem. I ordered the kids pizza and it was delicious and such a big portion. Staff is very friendly, good food and good prices. You can also purchase fresh seafood at the fish market next door. read more

The best taco Tuesday around. If you love seafood tacos this place is a must. I've tried every tacos they are all amazing. The popcorn shrimp are actually good size shrimp not at all popcorn size. The sauce is delicious i always ask for extra. Just wanted to update with my last visit. Masses definitely has been keeping it real with the yummy new food items. We go here pretty regularly, and I can only say it's "ok", unfortunately. The last few meals we had here have not been too great. Last night we went and I got the sea scallops with risotto. The scallops were over cooked and the risotto was undercooked (the rice was hard, not enough liquid in the risotto). Hubby got the surf and turf. The steak tips were pretty good, cooked evely, but the shrimp stuffing was EXTREMELY spicy. We had gotten the mussels and those were very good. read more

We had a reservation and even then we were seated and it took 30 min for waitress to come and greet us and put water on the table. The service continued like that for remainder of the meal. Appetizers came and we had no silverware . Took another 15 min for someone to provide silverware. The restaurant was not overly busy . After not visiting this place for quite some time I decided to stop in with a friend for lunch and give it a try. I ordered blackened salmon off the lunch menu which included garlic mash and coleslaw. Fish was very good, very mild tasting and tender with a good blackened sear on it. Garlic mash was good and coleslaw was okay but not chopped up good enough. Salmon was priced at 12$, so not a bad deal for lunch. I will return again to try other items on lunch menu or maybe for dinner. read more

I've been to Masse's several times for their fish and chips lunch special for $6. It's a very good deal and I'd recommend coming for lunch but dinner prices are more than double. Ive had their seafood linguine which was just ok, have had better at home. I'd stay away from the baked stuffed shrimp platter, which had mushy stuffing that had an unpleasant sweet taste and bland mashed potatoes as a side. I do have to say however that they make a very good fish and chips. From pictures on here I'd try their baked fish and fried clams in the future. read more

I know times are tough but this place has gone way down hill. I had the seared scallops with risotto this afternoon, the risotto was stone cold and the scallops were very small and way over cooked. They may have been frozen as well. Covid screwed everything, from lack of employees to food prices but for $32 you'd think my 5-6 small scallops could have been cooked correctly and they'd warm up the rice it sat on. read more

The sweet chili chicken appetizer was kind of the star of the meal, and if I was dining in I would have sent that back too.
