So I first had the pleasure of working with Roy Mathis Movers back in Dec 2019. I had a client who hired them for a move from Cerritos to Carson. I oversaw the move on behalf of my client and they did an outstanding job. All of the movers were friendly, attentive, reliable, accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure the move was done right. More recently, I referred them to a friend who moved from Lake Forest to Huntington Beach. They said they did a tremendous job especially since they had a lot of heavy and/or bulky furniture items to be moved up three levels on narrow stairways. Additionally, both of these moves were last minute with maybe a 2-3 day turn around and Mathis was able to accommodate those requests. Awesome, awesome company. Talked to John even before they opened at 8. He picked up my call and explained my situation and I needed to move a couple of pieces of furniture the same day. He requested I call back at 8 (time of opening) and speak to Ava. Ava has the greatest customer service skills. She kept in contact with me to through out the morning to confirm if they could move my furniture the same day. John and his crew were super nice, even though I had to have them come to move stuff around at my house twice before the big moving day, then on moving day, I had them move my sofa to a friend's house after they moved everything into my house. Moves are always stressful, but John and his crew were so wonderful, and took such great care of everything, they made it relaxing and stress free. They never complained or acted like it was an inconvenience when I asked them to do some extra moving, but cheerfully went out of their way to accommodate. I had NO damaged items nor paint scuffs on any walls during this move. I don't think I've ever seen a company's YELP rating this high, with 93 reviews, but believe me, this company absolutely deserves it. You'll be so glad you went with them, trust me!! These guys were AMAZING!! They moved us from an upstairs apartment to a pretty much 3rd story Condo. They were very professional throughout the process. Since I had new floors put in, the took a moment to put felt on the bottom of the furniture. They took apart, reassembled, and placed everything where I needed it to go. The 3 guys who moved us today were straight up nice guys, who worked very hard, and I heard not one complaint from the amount of stairs they had to climb and carry heavy loads up. I did buy them In and Out for lunch since I felt bad for the insane stairs, which they showed much appreciation for. I would recommend them to anyone who is moving!!! I loved what they did for me! I'm a single mother of 2 & they rocked it on my move. Way above and beyond what I expected. ( I stressed for weeks about this move & I realize now that was stupid.) We used Mathis moving last October when moving into our new home and although it was over a year ago, we have not forgotten what a relief it was to let Roy handle what was usually the exhausting, dirty, frustrating part of the move. That was our first time using a moving company. In the past we had always rented a Uhaul and done everything ourselves. It always took us a couple days, several trips, gas charges, insurance charges and being in debt to our helpful friends and many things were unintentionally scratched or broken (mostly by us). This time we were on a tight timeline and were finally able to concede that we needed professional help. Roy and his crew were booked on short notice and showed up on time ready to work. Although I thought I had packed almost everything up, as they moved furniture, things started multiplying. Roy was unphased and jumped right in and handled every last lego and stray sock as well as moving our antique china cabinet and flat screen TVs without a single scratch. When we got to the house, we dropped the bomb that we needed all the stuff loaded in our garage since our remodel on our new house wasn't done. No problem, Roy put his spatial relationship skills to work and stacked and arranged everything in our garage safely and strategically with room to walk through. When it was all said and done and we settled up I realized that it barely cost more than the various diy rentals, gas ups, rental insurance, pizza for our volunteer crew, etc. Not only that but we were not too exhausted and dusty to unpack as we always were when we tried to do it all ourselves. I moved from Whittier to Riverside and the guys from Mathis Movers did a GREAT job. I was really stressed out because the garage that most of the stuff was in was a complete disaster and I hadn't been able to go through it myself due to health limitations, but they were friendly, respectful, and quick! She was fine while trying to get my business, but the minute I asked 1 or 2 basic questions about preparing for their movers, she was very very impatient and rude.
