My family moved in late June and Roy Mathis Moving did a fantastic job in every way. We had 3 movers, Charo, Mario and Alex and all 3 were just great. They were pleasant and friendly and made the whole move look simple. The furniture assembly was perfect and I think the bedframes and tables were reassembled so well they seemed more sturdy after the move. They were very polite and patient and asked where everything was to go in all the new rooms. They work very well with the people they're moving. John was truly impressive with his knowledge and skill moving us from Whittier to SantA Rosa. He personally prepped our antiques for the move. His guys had to do extra because we were not as prepared as we thought --the garage had to have lot more work! The trucks were on time; left right on schedule and arrived on time. My mother was very pleased with their service. They were very careful with her belongings and moved items in her hallways so they wouldn't knock anything over. They showed up on time and were professional. They respected covid protocol as well. It was a multiple space move to a single place with stairs. They were hard workers but one piece of furniture got damaged. The owner was apologetic, came himself and got it and took it to be repaired. The repair job was over and above and the piece looks better than it did. I would use them again and recommend them. One thing I would be clear on is what to wrap or not from dwelling to the truck but all furniture was padded and secure in the truck for the journey. read more

I called these folks on several occasions to get a quote for an upcoming long distance move. On my first call Ava was very polite and said their driver was out on a long move and would call us to come by and give an estimate when he returned the following Tuesday. That Tuesday came and went so I waited a week and called again. Ava remembered me after I gave her all my info. again and said, the driver (they only have one that does long distance) was out on a run and would be back Monday but probably wouldn't call me until Tuesday to set up an appointment for estimate. Still no call, it's been three weeks since I last talked to Ava. I was looking forward to dealing with this company who is local and has great reviews, but I guess I won't have that opportunity. The only person I dealt with was Ava, and I don't know who is responsible for this company being unable to keep their word. I've gone elsewhere but just wanted to give a heads up to customers. Moving was so smooth, easy and quick. These guys made my moving so easy. What I like the most is how punctual and professional they are. There was no fuss. Coordination was spot on. John is so committed. He called me one day before to make sure that everything is on schedule. Normally, I always have to call and remind people but this time, it was opposite. John came with Mark. Both were so friendly, courteous and humble. John made sure that while moving stuff in my new home he is not going to scratch anything. That was so thoughtful of him. I really recommend them. We had the most amazing experience with Mathis Moving! Originally we had asked if they could just unload a truck. They knew were trying to save money and just gave us some suggestions. I felt like they truly wanted to help more than to make a sale. We talked for about 20 minutes and it was that customer service that sold us on our decision. Every other company we called was only business. This is a family owned company and you can tell. I called back to make an appointment with Sandy, she and I talked for about 30 minutes! Everyone wanted extremely down to earth. On the day of the move, Lawson and John arrived promptly and from the time that they actually left our new place, they worked their tails off. I needed to have a very heavy piece of hand carved furniture moved from my home to my son's house. I found Mathis Moving on Yelp and was impressed by the reviews. I talked to John who was very professional and quoted me a very reasonable price to make the move. John and his helper arrived promptly at the time given. I found this company thanks to Angie's list (great reviews there too) and was totally happy with them. They quoted an hourly rate, and reviewed what I was moving over the phone so we could decide how many movers (and trucks) we needed. Ultimately, it was just under $200 an hour for 4 movers, 2 trucks. Best money I've every spent. They arrived on time and got busy. We'd prepacked most of our small items, but were still packing as they got started. They did a great job of keeping everything moving, and getting a 4 bedroom house and 3 car garage loaded up. Best of all, everything went smoothly with no damage to our stuff or to the houses. The painters had just finished in the house we were moving to, so it was great to realize the hallway, doors, and door frames were in the same pristine condition after the move. The total tab was just under $1200 for about 6 hours of hard work on their part. I've left some furniture and household items at the old house while we're getting ready to sell it. I will call Mathis again when it's time to get out! read more

Mathis movers were OUTSTANDING. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I spoke to Ava and gave her an idea of what we had. I asked for wardrobe boxes a couple of days ahead to help us move through the process quicker and it really helped. John brought them over and gave us some great hints and tricks. Needed a moving company to help me from my one bedroom 3rd story apartment(no elevators) to another one bedroom ground floor. They did an amazing job. Found them on yelp within the month of moving. Ava had me put together an itemized list so they knew what they were in for. She assured me everything would be taken care of. Mike and Andrew were great. They were quick and had a great sense of humor. The owner even showed up to help move everything down with he other guys (free of charge)and really set the pace. I really liked that he came just to make sure everything was taken care of properly since we did live on the 3rd floor. The folks at Mathis Moving are simply the best. John and the team exceeded all our expectations. My elderly parents were moving from a large two-story home to a smaller one-story home. Other moving companies wanted to nickel and dime them on every little thing. That's not the way Mathis rolls. My parents fell in love with John when he came over to quote the move. He was very personable and friendly with a positive and enthusiastic outlook on everything. He said he could move it all without any concerns and he was true to his word. They even lifted a refrigerator over a built-in granite counter with no qualms. The movers were really terrific. While other companies had a larger volume of reviews, this one had the most positive reviews and I can see why! Eva at the office helped me with the estimate and scheduling. I even had to reschedule and her team was awesome in helping me with that. On moving day, Charro and his crew (Andrew and Chris) arrived on time at 8:15. They worked very well together in coordinating what to take out and in which order, as well as what order to bring things in at the other location. They communicated with me and each other all along the way. They were very kind, polite, patient and professional. They were very careful so nothing was broken, damaged or scratched. Charro was very particular about putting the reclining chairs and couches back together, and we really appreciated that! Now that I'm settled into my new place, I really wanted to take the opportunity to write them a review. It was my first time using a moving company and I will always use them in the future. Worked with Ava to schedule the move and on the day of move in I was scheduled to have 3 movers. The owner himself and an additional mover came out to help so there were 5 in total at move out just to help cause I had an oversized sectional that had to be taken out over the balcony of the second floor. They were all friendly, careful with our furniture and worked promptly. When we got to our new place, they all worked hard to assemble and re-connect all of our appliances and got it done as quickly as possible. They are efficient, courteous and friendly and went above my expectations. I specifically had Charo, Charlie and Marc as my movers and I thought they all did a great job.
