I love the food at Row 34. It's fresh and delicious. The oyster selection is unbeatable, and I love the mignonettes provided. The tuna crudo , lobster roll, and salmon burgers are unbeatable. The service is excellent. We appreciate the good amount of outdoor dining especially the back patio with heaters and walls to provide some protection from the wind. This decor and ambiance to this place is realllly cute. We sat at the high top tables in the bar/lounge area. It was quite busy for a late Sunday night. We ordered muscles for the table as an app which I don't eat, but it came with a piece of bread and was marinated with peas and corn deliciousness that I devoured. I didn't try the muscles I heard they were good. I would try it out. I personally ordered the chicken dish. It was really tender and flavorful. One thing I didn't like that there was shredded chicken mixed with potatoes and the chicken breast on top with asparagus. Although it tasted great, less shredded chicken and more potatoes. Our server wasn't the greatest. She kept reaching over us to grab our plates instead of walking to the other side to grab them. My sister had ordered a glass of wine. Then shortly after so did my other sister. The second wine ordered came first and they forgot about the first order for a bit. Will be back to try some other dishes! read more

This place is SICK.... the lobster roe and the biscuits are out of this world. I live in Los angles and I would literally fly back just to eat at this restaurant . The oysters were very special too. Our server was fantastic and we were open to trying everything they had. The biscuits are none like I have ever had before, I had to take one back to the hotel and the next morning it was delicious even cold. read more

If you're looking for a nice dinner but don't want to go into the city, Island Creek Burlington is the place for you. The atmosphere has no hint of being in a more suburban area and caters to the after work crowd for many of the tech companies in the area. As a result, the bar is a fun place to catch a drink but you can also get a nice booth for a more intimate meal and drinks. I came here for my birthday dinner and was very happy with my meal and overall experience. To start, we enjoyed a dozen of the Island Creek oysters. I really wanted another dozen because they were out of this world good. The only thing is that each one is priced at $3... which is pretty standard but never fun...We also ordered the tuna poke to share and it was incredible. For dinner, I got the clam chowder and a warm, buttered lobster roll. Both were outstanding. Typically I don't eat the rolls but it was a brioche roll that tasted like pretzels, so heck ya I did. Other menu items people at my table enjoyed were the Oyster Sliders and Honey Biscuits. The service was amazing too, and my menu was personalized with my name on it for my birthday. I have gone to the Island Creek Oyster Bar in Boston and when I heard that there was one around where I worked, I definitely wanted to go. I came here for brunch and it was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday which most likely had to do with it being a newer restaurant (Burlington has developed relatively quickly). The decor is very modern and bright with ample seating and windows. The interior was set up in a way that reminded me of being on a shoreline restaurant in the cape of somewhere in OC California. When we sat down, we ordered a few mimosas and the waiter we had was hilarious. He asked us if we wanted a regular mimosa or a "good time" kind of mimosa with a little wink. We obviously got the good time mimosa and it was definitely 95% champagne with a little splash of OJ. We then ordered lobster rolls and the fish and chips which came out great. The lobster roll was flavored well without being overly buttery and the fish and chip dish was delicious as well. I recommend this place if you're looking for a chill brunch spot with friends where you can talk and catch up! read more

We went to dinner on Thursday 12/29 and had the worst experience of our lives. The wait staff purposely ignored us while they served other tables and took over 45 minutes to bring us the food we ordered. When I asked why it was taking so long, the response was a curt 'we are busy tonight' and when the food finally came it was slammed down in front of me just because I was asking why our food was taking so long. We felt discriminated against and the treatment was so bad, I will NEVER visit this restaurant ever again. I will inform all my friends and family as well. read more

They did not acknowledge our presence, which was off-putting. We had to ask the bar tender for everything and they did not check in. Drinks were not good. My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here and we're so glad we did. We actually found that we preferred it to the Boston location! We enjoyed two creative and delightful cocktails, a dozen perfectly shucked oysters, a fluke crudo, and several other small plates. The meal was paced well, each bite delicious, and the service was impeccable. The staff is excellent (thanks Andrew!!!)-there when they needed to be with a refill or a suggestion, while not hovering, allowing us to enjoy our private meal. This place falls short. The best thing about our meal was the oysters; they have a decent selection. Atmosphere is contemporary with upbeat, loud music. Staff does a fantastic job prebussing/clearing table throughout meal but the food delivery is slow. Food was ok (lobster bisque, clam chowder, shrimp carbonara), but nothing special. Side note: the broccoli rabe in the carbonara makes the dish bitter. Recommendation: visit elsewhere, the Bancroft is just up the road. read more

This place is amazing. I love the open space, the decor and the ambiance. The waitress was absolutely fantastic and provided drink recommendations and oyster recommendations. We went ahead and ordered six different oysters and all were absolutely delicious and fresh. I had the Grilled Maine Salmon with quinoa, butternut squash, Brussels sprout and golden raisins. When I say it was PERFECTION, I truly mean it. All of the ingredients did a dance in my mouth (well, doesn't that sound ridiculous).... but really, it was truly the best salmon meal I've had in forever. I've been thinking about this dish and the restaurant as a whole since I visited and hope to return again soon. Definitely great for an after work dinner or even a date. Love, loved it. read more

I love coming to ICOB in Burlington. It's same quality of the Kenmore location, but with parking. I love that they do $1 oysters everyday (before 5:30pm). ICOB is the only place I'll get oysters. They're always cold, clean and never questionable. read more

Overall the service was excellent, the oysters were excellent and they did a good job and delivering a good dining experience. not to nitpick but the dirty martini could've been a little dirtier and the side salad instead of french fries would be better if it was more than just arugula and light vinaigrette. Stopped by this place after a long day of freeway driving and meetings that had our entire team thinking and on our toes since the moment we woke up. Walking into this beautiful restaurant with friendly staff, a gorgeous raw bar of delicious looking shellfish and a wine and beer list that was nothing short of awesome, was SO welcome on this day. We started with oysters which were to die for and washed them down with the coldest, yummiest pilsner ever. Then we moved onto the lobster bisque with huge chunks of lobster and warm biscuits on the side. The biscuits were topped with honey as far as we could tell and although weird at first, became strangely addictive about half way through. The decor and the staff were equally lovely and I would definitely come back here and try a lot more of the menu as it was so hard to make choices as every plate that went by us, we wanted! read more

I stopped by here this past Thursday evening by myself for dinner. Island Creek Oyster happened to be conveniently located near my workplace and since I didn't want to fight traffic sounded like a good place to go. Located near the Burlington mall the restaurant has both indoor and patio seating. The inside has a bright and clean look to it with everything being very bright and done in white, beige and a weathered wood look. Since I was by myself, I decided to sit at the bar which was large and yet still dominated by the massive size of the dining room. For dinner on this evening I decided to start out with the clam chowder and then debated between the fish sandwich or the lobster roll. Ultimately it was the old bay fries that won me over to the fish sandwich and I ordered it. My clam chowder came out first and looked amazing. It was covered in chives and with some croutons floating in it and piping hot. Like hot enough that I blew on it a few times and it was still hot. It wasn't a terribly thick soup but the flavor was buoyed by the addition of bacon to the broth which paired well with the creaminess. There was an ample amount of clams in it but my favorite part was probably the croutons which were nicely crusted balls of bread (not mushy at all even after sitting in the soup) which reminded me of a salt stick. After I had finished that my sandwich came out next. While my fries looked great the fish sandwich looked small and reminded me of a filet o fish sandwich. That may be my western PA roots talking though as the fish sandwiches there are always obscenely big. Thankfully it all ended up tasting good and I really loved the tartar sauce which reminded me of a remoulade. The fries were also really good as they came out piping hot with most of them being crispy and the perfect amount of old Bay on them. It made them slightly spicy while still being nicely seasoned. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I would certainly order the lobster roll the next time time I did still enjoy my meal here. read more

I could eat here every day, well probably not EVERY day, but this place is insanely good. The oysters are incredible and there is always a good variety which becomes a great variety depending upon the season. The menu is heavily tilted towards seafood and what is fresh. I have had cod, monkfish, fluke, skate, bluefish (yup, the bluefish here is great) and the salmon. All were terrific and the creative preparations (who thinks monkfish and spaetzle?) are delicious. I brought a group on one occasion and one of us ordered the steak and said it was fantastic. I personally don't see me ever ordering a steak here but if you have a group, you never know. The lobster roll is legit. Small dessert list and I always save room for their banoffee pie. It is big and shareable. The service is always great, especially Michelle. The bar is fantastic, great selection and cool speciality cocktails. The wine list is perfect for the menu, heavy on whites but a good selection of reds. It is a well prepared list with a lot of lesser known but outstanding wines. Great atmosphere. Hard to believe we are next to the mall in suburban Burlington. Not cheap and I might have docked it a star because of the cost. But I have been here many times and I have never left feeling anything but thrilled. read more

PRIVATE EVENT REVIEW - WEDDING REHEARSAL DINNER We had a mix of guests coming into town for our wedding, and since seafood wasn't going to be the main event at our wedding reception, we wanted to make sure that we represented New England well at our rehearsal dinner. We rented ICOB's private space and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We opted for an evening of passed appetizers instead of a sit down dinner and would highly recommend that to anyone who can make that format work for their event. It was casual and upscale all at the same time. The food was crazy good and so was the service. Our guests never had empty drink glasses and NO ONE left hungry. In fact, they packed up leftovers for our guests to enjoy late night in their hotel rooms, which they very much enjoyed (and probably needed during our wedding weekend). Oh - and pro tip for people who love this place - for private events, they can make the biscuits smaller for people to enjoy. I'm obsessed with them and needed to make sure our guests got a chance to try them. Thank you to the amazing staff there, especially Katie Sweeney and Laura Staley. I keep seeing this place on "best-of" lists but it didn't do that much for me. The theme throughout the evening seemed to be "too much bread(ing)" in nearly every dish. That included the hot buttered lobster roll ($32), the fish and chips ($18), the fish sandwich ($15) and the oyster slider. I liked the rosemary flavor of the roll but found the ratio of lobster to roll very off -- and I thought that the denser quality of the roll (as opposed to a hot dog bun-type roll other places seem to use) made it difficult to take full bites that included both lobster and bread. You really want the lobster to be the star, so that was a miss. The fish in the fish and chips was also heavily breaded, to the point where my friend started scooping the fish out from inside the breading to eat it. The fish sandwich and the oyster slider both suffered, again, from a bad ratio of bread to filling. If seafood is supposed to be the star here, why not highlight it appropriately? I also found the coleslaw overly soupy. My favorite thing was the soft-shell crab appetizer ($15), which was a special for the night, because it actually had very light breading and came with a nice mango and cabbage salsa/salad thing that kept the whole thing bright, despite the fact that it was fried. My friend enjoyed his lobster roe noodles, which came with lobster, oyster mushrooms and short rib, but thought $34 was pretty steep. Delicious find in Burlington! Went for dinner on a Saturday night with average expectations and I was pleasantly surprised by the food, service and drinks. Starting with the drinks- I could not tell you what half of the ingredients in their drink list are...but they can sure make a tasty drink. Sweater Weather was tasty enough to have 2! (lunazul reposado, pear nectar, s. maria al monte, lime, agave). The Bourbon and Rye list were impressive as well, everything from Basil Hayden to Four Roses, Eagle Rare and Whistle Pig. Beer list looked decent. Dinner was delicious. For dinner, I had a couple of apps. I especially loved the Salt Cod Croquette app and the Clam Chowder. The chowder was the typical white based soup with very small chunks of clam, corn, potato, etc. Not over powering at all. It had small pieces of biscuit that were lovely and very tasty. Finally, they had a scallop pasta special app that was amazing as well. A little spicy and very flavorful. I would order all of the above again in a minute! I also tried the Grilled NY stripe steak with blue cheese and potatoes and it was good, but I've had better steak. I would not necessarily order this again. It was a good steak, just not as good as the seafood sections. Finally, I saw a plate of Brussels sprouts walk by and I had envy! They looked and smelled delicious. I really liked this place overall. Service was good. We were sat right away on a busy Saturday without reservations and the server was super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is great (it has a good Boston trendy vibe to it, great modern decor, open and clean). Prices were on par with what you would expect from a restaurant of this quality around Boston. I have been here twice - sat at the bar the first time and then a table the second. I wish I could say that I enjoyed both experiences but it was not the case. My bar experience was great. It was intimate yet not too encroaching. As it was positioned in front of the kitchen, we got to watch our food being prepared which was quite fun. The wait staff at the bar was very professional, knowledgeable and knew when to provide service and when to pull back. He really made our dining experience fun and relaxing. We had oysters, tuna poke, shrimp pineapple raita on naan, clam chowder, buttermilk biscuit, curry mussels. We chose oysters from three different MA locations - all fresh and great tasting - could have been happy just having oysters but the other dishes also had our names on them! All the food we had was great except for the clam chowder which was quite ordinary. Special mention for the biscuit which was delicious but it seemed to be a sweet pastry and I am not sure how it fits into the dinner menu? Really loved the curried mussels which came with two pieces of toasts which we mopped up with the hot yet delicious curry sauce. Last night, celebrating an important anniversary, I and three others came here for a proper sit down dinner. We did not notice this last time but the restaurant was quite noisy. The sound of diners talking and the rather loud piped music diminished our dining experience somewhat. It was a busy Thursday night but there were empty tables yet they seemed a little overwhelmed. Our wait staff couldn't come to the table right away so the manager came and took our drinks order to get us started. When we finally got our waitress, she seemed to be preoccupied with other tables to really focus on a fully satisfying table service for us. For example, we seemed to have to look for her whenever we needed service like to have our orders taken, requesting for bread which I thought was given to diners without asking and our check. She came to check on us from time to time but not when we really needed her. I do think this is a great seafood restaurant just for the quality of the oysters alone hence the four stars rating. read more

Overall a really pleasant experience. We went just to sample all the oysters they offered and really enjoyed them all. To give a general breakdown, the Wellfleet oysters hold a special place in my heart being both a thick and satisfying texture with a more sweet flavor. The Moon Shoal oysters were the most expensive but honestly not as satisfying a texture although it was very sweet in flavor. The Island Creeks were the one grown specifically by the establishment and they were similar in fatty texture to the Wellfleet but not quite as sweet. But overall I think the best for the price was the Ichabod Flats! Not only were they on the thicker side in terms of texture (though not as big as the Wellfleets) they were very sweet and only a dollar each!!! Honestly quite a deal in my option, they were very satisfying. read more
