Shrimp Tacos that somehow tasted more amazing than they looked.
    Todd A.

There are three key elements to a successful, well-rounded Yelp review--food, service, and ambiance--and Krave earned a gold star in every single one. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Both simple and deeply nuanced, every dish I tried offered a fresh, elevated take on a familiar favorite. Each bite was packed with flavor, making for a truly memorable dining experience. The shrimp tacos, for instance, were a seafood lover's dream--perfectly grilled shrimp paired with crisp, fresh vegetables and a creamy taco sauce, all wrapped in warm tortillas filled to the brim. As for the mozza balls, they were a revelation. Hot and crispy on the outside, generously dusted with fresh Parmesan, and bursting with rich, creamy mozzarella inside. The crust was so perfectly crunchy that even Sonic's legendary mozzarella sticks would have some serious competition. These golden bites of cheesy perfection were nothing short of divine. The fried shrimp were enormous and cooked to absolute perfection, encased in a flavorful, perfectly crispy batter. They were incredible on their own--so much so that the accompanying dipping sauce, while a nice touch, was completely unnecessary. The bruschetta was warm and fluffy, topped with juicy, perfectly ripened tomatoes and a generous handful of fresh, peppery arugula, all drizzled with rich, warm olive oil. There was plenty to share--but it was so good, you wouldn't want to. The food was so insanely good that I was kraving more before I even made it home--seriously, I considered turning the car around halfway just for another bite. The service was top-notch from the moment we sat down. Our server greeted us before we even had our chairs pulled out, welcomed us to Krave, handed us menus, and took our drink orders right away. She was back quickly with full glasses and a friendly smile. When we ordered appetizers, she kept us updated on their progress, making sure we never had to wonder when they'd arrive. Attentive, efficient, and genuinely welcoming--it doesn't get much better than that. She kept that same level of service throughout our entire visit--never missing a beat. Our glasses stayed full, our table stayed clear, and we never had to ask for a thing. This was the kind of service that makes you want to tip extra extra. The ambiance was perfect--Krave has the chill vibe down to a science. Relaxed atmosphere, great lighting, comfy seating, and just the right level of background noise to keep things lively without being overwhelming. If my kids hadn't been with me, I could've easily made myself at home at the bar for the afternoon. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. I usually try to visit a new restaurant every time I go out, just to keep things interesting. But Krave might have just messed up that plan--it's definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to places.

    Braised beef hash

Came here for brunch and the place was almost empty. They have a $20 brunch special where you can order a brunch entree and get a bloody or mimosa with your meal, and it's not really worth it IMO. I got the braised beef hash and my partner got the brunch burger. The beef hash was okay - beef was kina stringy and dry, it's like they took left over beef stew and put it on plain homefries with a bit of onion, topped it with fried eggs and called it a hash. My toast was griddled flat with very little butter. My partner liked his brunch burger, seems like this is a decent place for a burger. The bloody wasn't good, tasted like an oxidized version of Mr. And Mrs. Ts, I didn't finish it. Service was okay, kind of frosty, thought it was odd the server stood far away whenever he spoke to us. Space is pretty big, clean, dark, and traditional. Overall sub par experience, wouldn't go out of my way to return here.

A mid sized restaurant tucked into a plaza. Quite the eclectic crowd of people. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Our table allowed us to watch the busy kitchen crank out the meals. We loved seeing the various food that they offer coming out. They have a very good size drink menu, with signature cocktails and good selection of drafts. Wife went with a Cobb salad with chicken. A really good looking salad with a nice size piece of chicken on top. I had the Asian Shrimp. They were not overly battered, a plus, and had a good flavor. The veggies were crisp and fresh as well. We would not hesitate to come again

Service was good, food was pretty good. The pizzas were flavorful but everything else was lack luster. They do have plenty of seating available for larger parties. They have bar seating available as well. Got a few different pizzas, pasta dishes, and appetizers. For a party of 9 they were able to accommodate us last minute, didn't seem to be too busy at that time otherwise Lighting and decor a bit dark and outdated

Great vibes, drinks and food! Fell in love with this place. Came up non business travel and was lucky enough to find Krave. Great people and atmosphere too. I sat at the bar and Nicole was wonderful, as were Claire and John sitting next to me The service by Nicole and the rest of the staff was on point and the food delicious. I enjoyed the Ricotta Bruschetta followed by the Asian Beef Tacos. Wow! Great taste and well crafted. I will be back come January. Thanks.

We had a group of 8 of us that came in last night. Food looked amazing so we wanted to give it a try. We got seated and our server took a bit to get to us. We ordered some drinks and waited and waited. The martinis we ordered had blue cheese stuffed olives. They were bad, tasted really sour. So we had to order a few glasses of wine instead She finally came back and took our food order. I ordered a app and food. The app never came out first. Came out with the meal. They were ice cold. I ordered the Asian street tacos.. again ice cold. The rest of the food was just ok. My wife did like her tofu poke bowl, but our friend didn't have more than 1 bite of her salmon. Just disappointing. I never got a refill on my water. We were a party of 8 and there was just no attention.

Looked for a place for a late dinner. This place was really good. The atmosphere feels like from an older time than what you think you'd find in a strip mall...really liked it. I decided on fish tacos...a little surprised to see whole white fish instead of smaller piece but it was very good! The cabbage was very finely sliced with a very nice aioli and tomatoes. All our food was great, the mozzarella balls were really good. Waitress was knowledge, helpful, and did a great job stopping back by several time to make sure we didn't need anything.

The service was top notch and the food was cooked nicely. Our table had the chicken parm, chicken broccoli alfredo and scallops and everyone mostly enjoyed their meals. The reason for 4 stars is the scallops were supposed to be served over mush vellutata drizzled with basil oil and they were served on plain mashed potatoes. They did not tell us about this substitution and we ordered 2 of them. This was disappointing as it was a factor for why I chose to order the dish and I did not finish my meal. Additionally they have a profiterole on their dessert menu I was excited to try and that is no longer available. I'd encourage the restaurant to be more proactive about letting diners know of substitutions during the ordering process and to update their online menu.

Interesting local beer on tap and other local sourced drinks. The food however, was disappointing. Chicken and Waffles: waffles were incredibly sweet. Like dessert sweet. Same very sweet fried chicken, dry slaw that didn't add any flavor, a few pickles that helped a bit, but no real flavor. The chicken (on the waffles too) was hammered...fried till super dry. Comes with a side of potato chips but they weren't hot or seasoned. The big pretzel app was good. Beer cheese was ok, honey mustard was better. Sorry we didn't enjoy ourselves more. I made a reservation for a Saturday night at 7:00 for two. Note: I originally went to make the reservation online from their website but the availability was not good, so I called instead. Online it pretty much looked booked between 4:30 and 8:00 - I called and was able to get 7:00 without hesitation. So, make note to call if you don't see the time or range listed online. We were greeted as we entered and checked in with the host/hostess. They were friendly and polite and told us it would just be a few minutes. They brought us back to our table and had us seated shortly there after. Our waitress was great; she told us about the specials, checked in on us, and made sure everything was as expected. We ordered some bevs that were very tasty and had great presentations. Speaking of presentation, let's get on to the food. We ordered the Tomahawk, which if you don't know, is a MASSIVE piece of meat. It's a steak meant to serve two people - in reality, it serves way more than two. The presentation of the tomahawk steak plate alone was beautiful! It had a whole bunch of stuff (see pic). They bring it out for you to see, and then they take it back to the kitchen to slice. We ordered medium rare, and probably should have gone more medium but it was not too rare so it was fine. Now, at The Bancroft, it is an à la carte style meal, meaning you order sides separately and usually a few for the table. We had the carrots (one of the specials), roasted potatoes, and creamed spinach. Forgot to say when you order meat, you also get to pick two sauces - and before anything while you wait they bring you some rolls and butter. The rolls started us off on the right foot knowing the meal was going to be phenomenal. They were warm with some sea salt on top and baked to perfection. The steak was mouth watering, juicy, and flavorful. The sauces added a great touch, and the sides were wonderful. It is safe to say, we did not leave hungry! As mentioned, while tomahawk is said to serve two, we had a lot of leftovers so of course we got those packed up to go. They were very considerate with the packaging, putting items in different boxes that made sense. We unfortunately did not have room for dessert but I'm sure it would've been awesome. The Bancroft is definitely a higher scale restaurant so it is on the pricer side, but it is justified. The food tastes great, presentation is there, and service is excellent. It's a great place for special occasions, celebrations, or just because as long as you know what to expect... but with prices today, I'd rather pay this and have it be worth it than what a crappy meal is costing today!
