    Lobster risotto
    Christine K.

Came here for a work dinner with coworkers and was thoroughly impressed. Started out with a Drop Anchor cocktail, a tiki styled rum drink with passion fruit, clove, and cinnamon, the warmth of which was welcome given the cold and rain going on outside. From there, we went through a handful of appetizers and sides, the jumbo lump crab cake, a fig and prosciutto board, roasted garlic fingerling potatoes, and the sautéed local mushrooms (my favorite of the bunch). I was stewing on which entree to get and our waiter did a good job on selling me on the carnaroli lobster risotto, something rich and savory, and I figured it wouldn't be a trip to New England without getting seafood. Even after all this food, all of us managed to find space to split a banana coconut roulade (the cake itself being average, but with a fantastic coconut gelato on top) and an Irish cream cheesecake (fitting given this was the day before St Patricks day). Bancroft is spacious, classy and modern. Service was great. It was an enjoyable night for us.

this place is a higher end restaurant, but the food wasn't very impressive. it's beautiful inside and the service is excellent. everything was cooked as ordered, which is good. the food was just fine, nothing special so the prices are a little crazy for the food you get. it reminded me of a prettier longhorns or 99s or something, basic. i don't think i'll be back unless they add some better options to match the price tag. also, something about what i ate (grilled chicken with sweet potato fries), did not settle well in my stomach at all. not sure what that's all about...

Clam chowder and burger were delicious. All the food looks great and look forward to trying the rest of the menu. Cocktails very solid too, top espresso martini in the area.

This place is hopping so definitely recommend a reservation. We made one but ended up just sitting at the bar (we prefer that) the drinks are top notch! I ordered the steak tartare and creamed spinach for my meal. This was the best tartare I've ever had and I've had a lot. A bonus with the tartare was a little quail egg you put on the top yourself! The creamed spinach was wonderful, just needed a little salt. (I don't usually add salt to anything) My friend got Branzino, the whole fish. Very tasty and flaky. She also got the beet salad. Normally beets taste like dirt to me but this was the first time I actually enjoyed beets! The bartenders were excellent and friendly and on top of everything. So quick, noticed if you needed something before you even notice it. I definitely would come back and try one of their stea

Outstanding food, marvelous setting and professional service. Company meeting so we had a set menu but one thing is sure: steaks are absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!

first visit to the bancroft was better than expected. mike is a great server. we started with oysters and artichoke ricotta ravioli. pass on the oysters, ravioli was amazing, i would have ordered two instead! filet mignon was decent, skirt steak was great, and i loved that bone marrow was available but felt it would use a little extra something. ravioli 10/10 oysters 3/10 (very small) filet 7.8/10 skirt steak 9/10 bone marrow 7/10 mocktail 9/10 overall good visit, would try it here again. ambiance: 5/5 food: 3.7/5 drinks: 4.5/5 service: 5/5 the bancroft: 4.4/5

Ambiance - 5. Really lovely upscale dining with relax cozy setting. Not too noisy and ideal for group chats. Service - 4 food delivered fairly fast but the service attitude could improve a little. Not as courteous or patient when my colleague asked for explanation on what was in the dish. Food - 5 the mushroom soup taste amazing and the way they presented the soup which they pour over the mushroom right off your table was unexpected nice surprise. Three thumbs up. The cocktail, Mammoth Tusk was ok, a little strong and sweet for me. I had the iceberg wedge blue dressing which was delightful and refreshing.

Interesting local beer on tap and other local sourced drinks. The food however, was disappointing. Chicken and Waffles: waffles were incredibly sweet. Like dessert sweet. Made worse by hot honey topping and a sweet breading on the chicken. First bites were good but you get over sweeted pretty quick. OG chicken sandwich was so, so, dry. Same very sweet fried chicken, dry slaw that didn't add any flavor, a few pickles that helped a bit, but no real flavor. The chicken (on the waffles too) was hammered...fried till super dry. Comes with a side of potato chips but they weren't hot or seasoned. The big pretzel app was good. Beer cheese was ok, honey mustard was better. Sorry we didn't enjoy ourselves more. Nice people and very good service.

While we had dinner here, I would highly recommend this spot for lunch. First and foremost, the staff were so kind and helpful. Our waiter helped us to figure out what food to get, recommended drinks, etc. The food was quite good. We ordered a number of appetizers (bisque, brussel sprouts, calamari, and burrata). I think we were all in agreement that the calamari was the best (perfectly fried, great hint of lemon), though the bisque was also the perfect treat on such a cold day. For my meal I had the salmon, which was a pretty big portion. The couscous and sauce were all really good, I wish I had a few more veggies, but this was all around a great dish. The prime rib dip sandwich was by far the best entree on the table. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and chocolate mousse cup, both really good, but the chocolate mousse cup was really well balanced with decadent chocolate and peppermint. The restaurant is relatively small, but it wasn't super busy and had a lot of great options! Maybe slightly pricy, but what a great place to stop into when you're at the mall.

Popped in for a small bite and beverage and the hostess was an absolute gem. She asked me where I'd be most comfortable sitting. I opted for the bar and ordered a glass of house red. Note: The drinks are crazy expensive. My wine was $16 for a glass. That's the average cost for most of the drinks on the menu. I had a cup of tomato basil soup which was delish, and chicken tacos which were on the small bites/apps portion of the menu. They were tasty. For dessert, I opted for a brownie sundae. It was dry and not fresh. The meals are fresh but pastries must be ordered offsite and just frozen. With the exception of dessert, I'll definitely visit again for a bite!

We had gone to see Encanto at AMC Burlington and planned to grab Buffalo wings afterward. It happened to be Women's Day, and the wait at the restaurant near the theater was incredibly long. We started looking for another option and ended up at Yard House. We've been coming back ever since. What has always stood out to us is the great service, family-friendly menu, and the quality of the food. The staff has consistently been welcoming and attentive, and that's a big reason we've remained loyal customers for so long. That said, over the last few years we've noticed a significant decline in the food quality. The service is still excellent, but the food just isn't at the same level it used to be. It's disappointing because this place set such a high standard for us. We ordered ice water with lemon. About five minutes later, the water arrived--but without the lemons. We decided to let it go, and shortly afterward she returned to take our order. CLASSIC CAESAR SALAD (added shrimp) Romaine hearts, garlic croutons, shaved Romano, and creamy Caesar dressing. Then we waited. About 10-15 minutes later, our waitress stopped by to ask if we needed anything. We were fine. Another 15 minutes passed, and she checked on us again. About 10 minutes later, she stopped by once more and said she was going to check with the kitchen. The restaurant was only about half full, with plenty of open tables. We had ordered two salads--it doesn't get much simpler than that. Finally, about 45 minutes after we arrived, our lunches made their way to the table. My Classic Caesar Salad was overdressed, and the shrimp, while acceptable, was a bit dry. I didn't try the Thai Peanut Salad. Ironically, this was one of the few times I would have preferred eating at the Legal Sea Foods in Logan Airport, where they somehow manage to get good food to your table much more promptly. I doubt I'll return to this location. One tip: parking in the lot directly in front of Legal Sea Foods is very tight. I parked in the former Lord & Taylor lot around the corner, which was only a few minutes' walk away.

I ordered it medium but was instead served almost rare. Nick asked me to cut into it and he himself said that it was somewhat rare so he took it back. Someone else brought the same steak back a few minutes later and parts were overcooked and parts were still medium rare. I also noticed that the table next to me sent one of their steaks back and also leaving it on their plates after it was brought back. For dessert, I had the coconut creme cake that was really good. I'm unlikely to go back to this restaurant even with a $55 promotion before taxes and tip. I guess that I should feel lucky that is all I paid.
