Ordered a cheeseburger from bar. It was not good. Cheese wasn't even melted. The bartender was nice but the food was mediocre.

COVID killed this place. Cool vibe but out of most food and help is hard to find. Can't stand hours that change sporadically.

The staff was very friendly and drinks were good. We didn't realize it was a hotel bar until after arriving

Sadly they've closed this location From their site:…read more THE FEDERAL IS CLOSED We would like to thank all of our guests for their support over the last seven years. Unfortunately we have made the difficult decision to close the restaurant permanently. The current economy and ever increasing costs make it impossible to continue. We will continue operating our sister property, Stazione di Federal and will honor all outstanding gift cards there.

Didn't see the need to have 3 ladies standing in one spot at 6pm mid-week, looking bored at best. Plenty of high top seating in the lounge or on bar side for 2-4 people. Great place for a quick bite, after work meet/up (or even a romantic dinner if you reserve the high table near the fireplace). Waitress was very nice and attentive. Great cocktail & wine selection. Crab stuffed shrimp and an entree is plenty for 1 person. Rib eye was phenomenal. Sauce wasn't needed. Crab cakes were just ok. I didn't understand the chip like flakes that were added on top. Small portions, but yet filling. I couldn't finish the large tiramisu which was also very good. The added morsels gave it a nice touch. Overall, good for locals, nearby employees or shoppers.

Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

Perfect for sharing with friends or coworkers for a team building dinner, you will leave very satisfied. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share including: Beef empanadas - delicious mini meat pies Croquetas de Jamón tasty creamy bite of potato and ham Mussels with chorizo - don't forget to soak up the broth with the bread! Sliders (pork belly, brisket, sausage! Yum!) Maduros wrapped in bacon, crispy, sweet plantains wrapped in crispy and salty bacon! Pulpo con papas - tender grilled octopus with potatoes Chocolate flan with plantain ice cream and orange marmalade. The drink was a guava and gin cocktail Every dish was delicious. Served was friendly and food arrived very quickly. I'd definitely come back again and try the rola vieja next time.

The Yuca Frita, beet salad and Croquetas de Hongos (mushroom croquettes) were definitely highlights. The yuca fries were delicious, and the mushroom croquettes were so good! Unfortunately, I wish they had more vegetarian options for the main course. The vegetarian main dish we ordered was disappointing, especially considering how much we enjoyed the appetizers. It's always nice to find a restaurant with creative vegetarian options, but I wish the same attention to detail carried through to the entrees. Overall, I really enjoyed the appetizers, and there are some great vegetarian small plates here. I'd definitely recommend trying those, but I hope they expand their vegetarian main course options! Tres leches was amazing!!! The service was amazing - we went without reservation and managed to find a nice spot at the bar Ambiance was nice - we went with our small kid and she loved it
