Large restaurant with good food and friendly servers. This place is set up to accommodate all size parties and even when nearly at capacity, the food comes out in a timely manner. We were there for breakfast. The biscuit that accompanied my scramble was generous in size. The portions are not huge, but they are large. You won't go hungry here. read more

Came here for some breakfast/lunch. We sat down in the bar area which is very nice and open. Room to breathe. Had wonderful service. I ordered the Rueben sandwich with there jojos. If you have not had there jojos you should. They are good sized and taste amazing. Crispy outside and creamy inside. The sandwich was good as well. My friend ordered the chicken fried chicken with two eggs and home style potatoes. He enjoyed his meal as well. I had a bite of his chicken and it as well was great. Worth the wait times! Although it was only a 15-20 min wait today. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the nicest staff. It is clean, decorated very pretty and doesn't feel too crowded. Our waitress was so friendly and kind. She was so patient with my 4 year old that wanted to order himself but couldn't decide between bacon or sausage- lol! The food was amazing and came quickly! This is always appreciated when you have impatient little ones. The chicken fried steak is to die for and the biscuits and gravy are so delicious. Even the pancakes are incredible! My daughter said "these are the best pancakes ever!" Thank you This is our new brunch spot. We may even try lunch here- the menu options sounded delicious. read more

You might never have had a reason to go to Brooks, Oregon until you found Route 99 restaurant. That was the case for me, and then a friend invited me there to breakfast. As I tucked into fluffy eggs, perfect fried potatoes and a homemade biscuit, served with a warm smile, I knew I'd be back. Our server, Lisa, also gave us the history behind Route 99 which was opened and is still operated by the same owner as the much beloved Annette's, previously in West Salem. So my mom introduced me to this place and took me out for lunch the sandwiches we ordered that day were pretty good and I was excited to bring my wife back for dinner but when I did it was a complete and utter failure some of the worst BBQ i have ever had horrible bbq sauce ice cold pulled pork that was old crunchy and hard burnt pieces shredded brisket with so much liquid smoke in it that I was burping it up three days later and some of the smallest no meat ribs I've ever seen over cooked and dried out like beef jerky it was perfectly clear that everything on my plate had just been microwaved and when I ask if the pulled pork was supposed to be served ice cold the waiter brought me a small plate and asked me to scrap the pork off of my plate on to it where he just microwaved it and brought it back to me say the best part of my $32 dinner was the cornbread and maybe the sausage that they just pulled from a package my wife's Bourbon mashers with short rib and demiglaze was not bad good flavor but nothing special after mentioning my cold pork, and then trying to resolve the issues we were greeted by another member of the staff that brought a free cinnamon roll with apologies, and then after that we felt very uncomfortable as every single waitress or waiter in the whole place, happened to come by our table about a dozen times to check on us going completely out of their way which made us feel really uncomfortable say it's one thing to have good customer service. It's another thing for the whole entire staff to talk about how they screwed up your table and every single one of them wants to come over and try to fix it. It's a real shame because I did like this place for lunch and thought it was going to be one of my local favorites. Turns out it's just another dump that serves crap food. It's a real shame because the restaurant seems quite busy and it has a very cute ambience but after eating that meal, I probably won't ever be back again. read more

The food portions were considerable. Servers were on top of drink refills. It was a little loud and difficult to converse, but the proximity to Adelman's Peony Farm makes it a convenient stop. Prices were reasonable and the food was tasty enough that I'd go back. read more

There were four of us and all had good food. Portions were plentiful with enough for some take home. Prime rib, meatloaf, rack of ribs, and a sub club. Wife thought her Mac and cheese was outstanding. Want to return for breakfast someday. Veggies with the prime rib was overloaded with onions. Friday night wasn't as crowded as I expected which was good. No waiting for a table. Everything was a little pricey but that's about normal everywhere today. Best food and price in Brooks, OR! As well as Salem, Keizer, Woodburn because customers come from all over to enjoy great food and large portions. I have to take home half of my order home every time. The photo is one of the very large breakfast plate. The first time I came hear I had to take a tor of the wall hangings and sayings. I like the open spaces in the nar and the back porch in the Spring and Summer. Thank you Ben for always asking me about my new retirement and remembering our group. Don't let the outside fool you. For years I thought it was like some biker or like older folks bar so never stopped by. I decided to Yelp this place and now I'm annoyed I didn't come in sooner. It's so good! The decor has this rustic country modern vibe to it. It's so nice and not outdated. But really the magic is the food. The portions are huge and I've had several dishes now and I have yet to be disappointed. From a breakfast to burgers they all been so effing bomb. I don't know who the cook is but by hats off to him. Oh and they have a fully stocked bar. Mimosas with fresh squeezed OJ and Apple cider mimosas to spiked coffees and well you guys get the point they have good food and good drinks. Great food and coffee! Went there not knowing what to expect. The service is great. We each ordered something different and were pleasantly surprised at how large the servings were. There was enough to eat and then take home the rest of it for later. The coffee is good to and they came around often enough to keep the coffee cups full. I was looking for a BBQ place between Albany and Portland and the Route 99 restaurant was recommended. I ordered the 99 Grill and a Brisket Dip and that was the best brisket my wife and I have ever had. The facility looked great and the staff was very friendly. First off I'll start by saying that I WILL come back and try breakfast sometime. However, after hearing so many great things, my expectations were a little higher than what we experienced. Our server didn't write anything down when taking our order, repeated one meal back wrong, then came back 2 minutes later to confirm one of the four entrees again, which she didn't "memorize" correctly so I'm glad she did. We order two drinks while the other two in our party settled for water. 15 minutes later we had to ask about the beer and the soda, assuming they were forgotten. One meal still came out with the wrong choice of potatoes. Just write things down.... You're not impressing anyone by memorizing orders and getting them wrong. We split the fried pickles and jalapeños (not pictured), and they were ok. The breading wasn't as crispy as we've had at other places, but it was plenty to share among four people. The crispy chicken sandwich and JoJos were great! The $31 Smokehouse sampler, was not. Avoid this entree, all of the meat was dried out. All of it, none of the meat options were good. Baked beans from a can, but the slaw and cornbread were ok. They did offer a free dessert, since we were celebrating a birthday. Every option looked great, we opted for turtle cheesecake and it was good. Looking forward to giving them a second chance for breakfast and hopefully updating this review then. read more
