The place was empty two other tables and the waiter was friendly but slow and confused most of the dinning experience. Well the food was hands down the worst food I've ordered at a restaurant ever. Me and my husband ordered chicken fried steak loaded hash browns and eggs over medium. Let's start with the eggs mine were cold so closer to over easy and snot. Now my hash browns were half the size of my husbands poor hash browns which I thought oh well I'm not a big eater. However these hash browns were old soggy and burnt awful potatoes Now the chicken fried steak was gross! I've had chicken fried steak that was bad but this was soggy and had no taste at all. The tiny bit of gravy on top was sad and looked horrible. but wait I was again ok with it because at least there was not much to try to eat because the gravy was disgusting weirdly colored and obviously old. Now the biscuit please throw them away! obviously they were old stale and nasty. This food was so bad I'm sure my dog would not have even eaten it and he's a lab he eats anything. My friends at our table ordered the fish and chips and omelette it was really sad that frozen fish and chips could be this bad. Personally I think the people that own this restaurant should try a different adventure. There are so many options and opportunities for other food establishments to earn the amount of money spent on this meal all together we paid well over 100 for the worst food I've ever consumed. Please consider before consuming this foul food and no I did not complain and I even tipped mostly out of pity for the staff that seemed to obviously be working in this industry. read more

Our Waitress Debbie was the sweetest!! Thank you for making our first experience at Elmer's a good one. My mom and daughter both ordered the German pancakes. Based on the pic in the menu, we weren't expecting them to be that huge! The lingonberry was a little tart, and the strawberry was nice and sweet. The potato pancake dish on the other hand was DELICIOUS!! It was tasty, savory and hit the spot. My other daughter ordered a simple dish ~ Fruit, Sausage, Eggs and a biscuit. She enjoyed it! The atmosphere was cute, casual family friendly. Great customer service! I thought it was cute how they had superhero masks available for the kids. We were seated promptly. Service also arrived quickly. We decided to have clam chowder and Swedish crepes, then follow up with Fish and Chips. Everything was to be split between me and hubby. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The food was all quite good and there were no leftovers. Restroom was clean. We were heading to the Outlet, mall next door, and the parking is by Red Robin's, because hubby didn't want to go back to the street. No problem! Sonja, maybe the best lounge bartender and all around great human being! My buddy and I were in Woodburn to do some shopping and thought, Elmer's, why not. And, as above, they have a lounge! Perfect. Sonja greeted us like we were regulars and friends and served up some mean drinks. We got a steak, fish and some chowder, a little over done on the meat, but, good! I have to say that the service was top notch. The place was not busy considering it was you know towards the end of the week and off a busy road. The thing that's killing restaurants is the prices. I mean paying almost $20 for a turkey. Dinner is a lot of money for most people. Nobody has senior specials anymore or coupons and it really makes people hesitate about eating out. If they're charging $18.99 it would be nice to have maybe a roll with a scoop of ice cream. You know don't charge extra for everything. Delicious food and excellent service. The Hermon pancake is gigantic. It's perfect for sharing. It's light and airy. The lemon is delicious out. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict was perfect. Not too rich or thick. The fruit was fresh and a good portion. Coffee is brewed fresh and they have vanilla creamer. Always a bonus. The service is on point. I never had a low cup of coffee. The decor feels a little dated but in a comfortable and cozy way. Everything is clean and well presented. This was really a surprise. First, most Elmer's I've visited are entire buildings, sometimes nearby to hotels. Many are a bit dated. This location feels very new, clean and different. It is in the lower portion of a 2 (maybe 3?) story building, so you could accidentally miss it. It is off the highway, so easy on/off. Also there is a "Lounge" (which I didn't check out), and then the restaurant. I came on a Friday morning for breakfast, and had an omelet, with "northwest" hash browns. For note: "Northwest" hash browns are thick shredded-type hash browns (if you are a connoisseur). Think the new type of pre-shredded "thick farmer cut" cheese - these are northwest hashbrowns. Kind of crispy, still flavorful. The omelet was well stuffed, and impressively the egg surrounding the filling was paper thin. I'm not sure how I felt about it, but it was interesting. Staff was ALL friendly, also it wasn't too busy - but I was seated quickly, served quickly, and left quickly. Solid in my opinion. read more

As far as Elmer's Restaurants go, this one is a little lacking. Went in on a Saturday morning, and they were not very busy at all. The food took a while to get out. We all ordered our eggs over medium, and one was undercooked (clear whites), one was overcooked (solid yolks). One plate came out without butter and we had to flag someone down to ask for it. Hashbrowns were only crisp on one side. Then we got the check before being even halfway done with the food, making us feel rushed (they still weren't busy). The parking lot is a little oddly shaped and shared with several other establishments. It was packed in the morning but once the other restaurants open, it would likely fill up. They could use a bit more signage or an "open" sign to indicate which of the doors is the actual entrance. The bathrooms were tidy, as was the dining room. read more

I gave this Elmer's' Restaurant a second chance and it was a complete fail once again. I ordered a lemon German pancake that came out so cool that the butter wouldn't melt on it. My husband and daughter respectfully, ordered a beef dip which he said was satisfactory but the french fries were cold and hard. My daughter ordered fish and chips which was inedible for her because her french fries were also cold and hard and the fish was still cold inside. I don't know how you can mess fish and chips up but they did! While the wait staff was friendly, I felt they were just going through the motions. There were very few customers when we were there at 5:00 PM but we only saw them two or three times. I hate giving a bad review but this restaurant deserves it. Went out to breakfast this morning. We were seated, coffee came and we ordered...and then we sat for almost 35 minutes. Tables around us ordered, were served and left before, after prompting, our breakfast arrived. My husband ordered the fresh seasonal fruit - it was half a banana, a handful of grapes and some watermelon. It was all warm, the banana and the grapes were overripe and inedible. My Eggs Benedict were barely warm and the hash browns had the taste of old oil on the grill. My husband's breakfast was barely warm and his ham and cheese omelette had barely any cheese. Great service, yummy food, wonderful experience. We got there at 11:30am on a busy Sunday. We were told the wait for a table would be around 20 minutes, but the hostess assured us they were worth the wait! The wait ended up at around 30 minutes, but she was right, it was worth the wait. The food was great. The best part: our server Kristie. She was so warm and friendly. Her attention to detail was amazing, given that she was running in a million different directions. We went here to Elmer's to eat after a long day of shopping at Woodburn Outlet mall. The dinning room was nit busy at all. We were seated quickly by our waiter Gabriel who was courteous and knowledgeable of the menu and even offered a few recommendations. We ordered the Prime Rib sandwich dip, fish and chips, and the Dungeons Crab salad. The portions were perfect and the food was absolutely delicious. I want to thank Elmer's and most of all Shannon. I came into Elmer's to grab some breakfast with my daughter. We were heading to Legacy Hospital in Portland. My husband was 3 days post-op kidney transplant. We had been waiting 5 years to get the call. I was so excited for his opportunity for life again, I was telling everyone who would listen. Shannon was our waitress that morning. I beamed about my husband and his successful kidney transplant. Before I knew it, she told me breakfast was on us. I was so thankful for the jester and true kindness she showed us. Today, my husband is 7 days post op, and on our way back from his daily blood draws at Legacy Hospital, we stopped back in so she could meet my miracle husband. Went to Elmers with my family. We received a visa gift card from our church the previous weekend and wanted to use it to bless our family by eating out. We went to pay with the gift card and it was DECLINED we checked the balance at the table by calling the number on the back and the balance was all there. We decided not to cause the waitress any trouble so we paid with card. We never tried to use the card again. Then on Monday we were still confused as to why the balance was showing while at the table but didn't go through at Elmer's come to find out the waitress stole our gift card and used it to buy herself LULU LEMON. We called the restaurant right away asking for a manager to notify them. The hostess never delivered our message or the manager is covering up for the staff who steal. Went to Elmer's for breakfast, food was TERRIBLE!! My husband had the prime rib Benedict, onions were too strong to eat and the meat was so salty is was like they were trying to kill slugs. My son had French toast with hash browns and bacon, the browns were overcooked and dry, the bacon was so overdone it sounded like a twig snapping when he bit into it. I had the NW crepes, again the bacon was wayyy overdone and the crepes were more like pancakes. It's terribly frustrating to spend $70 on a meal I'd be hesitant to feed my dogs. read more

From all of my food experiences in America, this place was close to British flavours. Serving English breakfast is not every ones cup of tea but at Elmers , its proven wrong. Not only was the English breakfast served delicious but also the German pancakes were outstanding. Seasonal entree, pancakes, french toast n delicious soups are just few items from the menu but there is alot more. Breakfast, lunch or dinner- come for all. Worst Elmer's I have ever been to. Waiter got my kid's order wrong. My son wanted regular waffles and he got ones with strawberries. Ok fine. Mix ups happen. The waiter immediately took the plate away and said he would get the correct one. My son was starving at this point and would have just eaten it. The waiter forgot his fries and my daughter's as well. My daughter got her favorite strawberry pyramid waffles that had 1 strawberry. Wtf is this? Food didn't taste right. I saw employees chatting while I had to wave down someone for more water. Just poor service and I would never go back to this location. Never had any problems at other locations. read more

Today is Sunday, and we came here before hitting the shops. The wait, they said, was "about 10 minutes". 30 minutes later we were seated in Kella's section. I wish EVERY server in the food service industry was like Kella. She was incredibly attentive and personable. I had the crabacado omelette and the man had the bacon cheese potato cakes. Went here on a busy weekend during back to school shopping at the outlets. Was expecting it to be crowded, there was barely anyone eating there. I know why, horrible service and low quality food. I asked for very light ice in my drink, half the glass was ice. I requested ranch dressing for my chicken strips, the waitress says ok, then starts vacuuming the floor and cleaning tables‍ I wait maybe 5 minutes before she looks at me and says oh ya, I then request more syrup too since I figured I wouldn't see her again. My daughter's Mac and cheese with ham was dry, very unappealing, she only ate a couple bites. We were given our ticket and asked if things were ok, I let her know my daughter didn't like her food. Mine was ok, nothing to brag about. She eventually comes back to offer different food, no thank you, we were tired of waiting for stuff. I reluctantly left a 20% tip. Went to pay, waited, waited, waited, sent my daughter to see if anyone was around, nope, waited some more. I eventually go to the kitchen to ask the ladies that were busy "visiting" if anyone was working the register. One came over, we paid, we left, we will never to return again. We enjoy breakfast with friends at Elmer's in Woodburn at least once per week. There's always a friendly greeting, good hot coffee, and decent family-restaurant style food. My wife is particularly fond of their German Pancake and we often split the combo. The servers are generally gracious, prompt with coffee refills, and sufficiently smiley. We have also had lunch at Elmer's a few times, and again, the food is good, familiar, and comfortable. We recommend! read more

I asked if I did table service if I didn't finished would I be permitted to leave - the answer - we can't do take out. Think they need to update their Yelp profile. This place had the STAR that you always wish for in a restaurant: DEBBIE There is a certain knack to being a proper server Especially to business men....Debbie got it Right Away, Acknowledge, Coffee water etc , leave us alone It's All Timing, and Debbie has it. When to take the order, how often to check in us, and a bit if comedy is always nice as long as it's Debbie's style. Like Gracie Allen with short funny funny Quips, that do not interupt but definitely entertain and become endearing. AND most important: When bringing the check, no language which I hate hate. A. Are you still working on that .. B. Here's the check no hurry ( Undertone Get out ) C. Zero service after the check Is laid on table. That's an art...keep filling water, coffee whatever...the attention should not stop until we leave. If you are traveling or live in Woodburn, this Elmer's restaurant is the best. While on vacation I visited this Elmer's several times and each time, the food was hot and delicious. I highly recommend the fish and chips. The prime rib is pretty good too! I highly recommend this place to eat. read more

We were driving thru the sticks of farm country when Dutch baby popped up lol. Gave it a shot here at Elmer's, which unknowingly seemed like a neat mom and pops place. Service wasn't mom and poppy and the edges of my baby were burned. Left a little disappointed but everyone else enjoyed their breakfast. Great coffee though! read more
