You can tell they just newly renovated the inside and it actually looks like a really nice 60s diner, with neon lights and fun signs. I really enjoyed just looking around and enjoying the ambience. (after a long drive it was like a safe haven) and the booths are really quiet and set up where you get lots of privacy People on here are a little mean about the food. I got a steak and egg dinner over there and it was cooked better then if I was eating one at my in-laws house. The strawberry and banana smoothie was incredibly good! (like one of the best smoothies I've ever had good) The service was pretty good, the waiters were really nice and quick to bring anything you ordered. The staff seemed like they had each other's backs when they got busy or lots of people came in, and everybody was really positive. And in my opinion, the crown jewel of this is the fact that they have a 21+ bar in the back that actually is really nice, now don't expect a five star bar. But for a bar in the back of a Denny's it's freaking awesome! You can gamble, drink, play games and hang out with everybody (it's not the biggest bar ever, but everybody seemed like they were having a good old time) 10/10. Best Denny's I've ever been to. The food is pretty good and you get a fairly decent portion. I always order the T-bone steak, medium rare and it has yet to arrive the way I ordered it. It is always well done. This last time they delivered a different cut of steak and not a T-bone steak. I asked for my eggs to be over easy and they were clearly sunny side up where the white was still runny like snot! One of the biggest obstacles in ordering our food and having it prepared to our liking, was the language barrier. The waitress could not speak English. The dining area itself is pretty gross along the walls and the shades had food splattered and or transferred from others hands, etc. the menus were sticky inside, which was pretty gross. You will see in the pictures that the steak knife they gave me was so old and the handle had bits of plastic fraying that fell into my food. When I asked for a new steak knife, the waitress did not understand my English words she just kept telling me I don't know, and shrugging her shoulders On the positive side, the pancakes were nice and fluffy, and the prices are fairly reasonable My husband ordered an omelette and it was filled nicely with ham and cheese. He got less hashbrowns than I did, which was weird. Each portion should be equal. He did have to ask multiple times to get more water, which is inexcusable. It is not like he guzzles it down. It takes some time to drink a tall glass of water, which allows the waitress to have time to fill it up. The restaurant was not busy this day. Most of the problem we witnessed was the waitresses and staff standing around Talking. We witnessed other customers waiting to be seated who ended up leaving and walking out. This was at 5 o'clock or so in the afternoon and there were only eight other tables with customers all the rest were empty. read more

Do not expect an easy check out. They can not accept a split payment due to an ancient system. 99% of restaurants can split a check by percent instead of by item. I can only suppose it was the manager who came to assist copped an attitude when I questioned their inability to divide a check in two. Inviting me to look at their system - that would have been a huge fail on their side because I'm not ignorant with technology - let a customer show them how to use the register. Back to the food, cheap cost matches the cheap taste. Servers were a toss-up. One said wine was not possible, while another said it was. This place use to be good. Last night Feb. 18 2024 around 11pm we waited about 5-10 minutes to even get a host. When some worker finally showed up to the front she was on the phone(sounded like a personal call) and looked at half our party and says "are you guys waiting to sit down" they said yes, she grabs menus (didn't even ask how many in the party) and does her finger motion to follow, then tosses the two menus on the table and leaves. We were a party of four, mind you. We sat there in disbelief of how rude she was and waited a good 5 mins and no one had approached us, then that same person walks by (still on the phone) and tosses two other sets of silverware without a word and walks away. We waited five more minutes and nothing. we decided to leave. We didn't even get offered a drink, much the less get to order food. The remodel at Denneys is spot on... less "old-school diner-ish" and more sit-down cafe-ish. It's a good thing. I go to Denneys for the pancakes - two plate-sized delicious fluffy pancakes with a bit of butter and a tiny drizzle of syrup (not a big syrup fan here) are just the thing to wash down with some dark wet hot stuff otherwise known as coffee. This Denneys did not disappoint. My server Carlos was attentive with coffee and water refills and asking if I needed anything else. Looking around, it appears that everyone who works here is happy to be here, with a smile on their face - well, smiling with their eyes and voice since all are wearing masks. Had breakfast last night, but service was super slow. I think this was mainly due to one working server while the rest of the staff talked and goofed off. Food took forever and even after it arrived my wife's toast was missing. Toast arrived as we were just about finished eating. We're done and then the waiting began. We waited and waited for the bill. Honestly I pretty darn near ready to just walk. My wife finally caught somebody at the register and got the bill and paid it. So I've been to this Dennys so many times and the food has been good not Amazing but constant and good. Last time I was here the food quality dropped and I was so sad. Today they have Renovated and I'm here to say my meal was perfect. The cook was spot on in everything I ordered. Not one mistake. Bravo. My waitress was this older Beautiful lady named Fabiola. So nice and very tentative to everything I asked for. I got the bill and they must have dropped the prices because I've gone to some very popular locations for breakfast and the whole meal was substandard and allot more on price. Suck a wonderful place. Came this morning to have some quick breakfast when I hear a big guy yell across the restaurant at first I thought it was an angry customer then I realized it was the manager yelling at his employee for not doing her job right. This is an unacceptable behavior from a suppose "manager" . There's a way to talk to your employees, a way to respect them and talk the right way. Whoever this manager is that works in the morning needs to be fired!!! Make corrections in private never take advantage of your "role " to talk to people this way!! Used to come here with my dad all the time really late at night or after he got off of work at like 4 AM... Not sure what the hours are now but we used to love getting the grand slam bacon extra crispy and their milkshakes were pretty good as well... My daughter, her SO and I were driving to the airport in Portland from visiting with family south of Salem. We decided to stop at Denny's in Woodburn for late breakfast/early lunch. Two of us got the All-American Slam and one a pick your own Slam. The server did not write anything down, which was impressive since everything we ordered was exactly what we got. The food was exceptional, and I admit I ate the whole thing it was so good. I am a senior citizen and have been for many years, and usually don't eat that much in a sitting. It was just that good. I already have a repeat visit to this Denny's scheduled in my mind for the next time we go visit family there. I checked my review and see it gives me a California residence. I live in the Midwest. Two visits in the past six months. Both were just SAD. Flies, dirty tables and the food was cold when it hit our table. Only a total of 11 customers. No one at the entrance to greet us. (Understandable since it was so busy). I think there is a black hole in the back of the building. I downloaded Yelp just to write this review. Fabiola was astonishing. Her service was absolutely and completely outstanding -- it is obvious she is a veteran in the industry. You can very visibly see she takes her job seriously. It is such a pleasant surprise to get an AMAZING above-and-beyond server. Most of the time you get the people who always forget your ranch, and mostly just clock in to shuffle and drag their feet around for a shift. I can accurately vouch for this, as I was a server, too. Fabiola, on the other hand, speed walked with a sense of urgency to her tables and back to the kitchen. She walked with a sense of urgency wherever she went. She did not forget about our ranch, she stopped by to check on our beverages 3+ times, AND offered dessert, which we said yes to. I have never received better service -- it was unforgettable. Any restaurant would be fortunate -- so fortunate -- to have her. Especially a very high-volume or large restaurant. Honestly, if I were a restaurant manager, I would have tried recruiting her on the spot. No shame! She's worth it. read more

Clean restaurant with friendly staff. Drinks order was taken and delivered quickly. We took a while to decide what to order and didn't feel any pressure to hurry up. The food arrived quicker than we expected, it was hot and fresh everything you want from Denny's but never get. The fries were the best I have had at Denny's and the Cali Club was very nice. Quality of service varies here. Today I received good customer service, the previous three visits were terrible customer service. Unfortunately I'm in a conundrum - sometimes I just want to go out for a breakfast outing my family here in Woodburn, but don't want to leave town (I live in Woodburn). There are basically three options: 1) Shari's - always good customer service but their breakfast menu is not so great 2) Elmer's - every time I go here I feel out of place. I always get the feeling that this place is catered to seniors. Plus the food is so-so. 3) and finally, there's Denny's. Great menu options but customer service usually sucks. To add, the food is usually mediocre, sometimes even flavorless. But I keep going back due to lack of other options. It is true when people say "let's go to the *good* Denny's" as Denny's locations do vary with quality of service and food just like any other restaurant chain. I have been to great Denny's throughout the Portland-metro area and experience 4+ star quality service and food. Even though I go on breakfast outings only once every few months, I always run into this issue with Denny's - fair to poor customer service and food to match that reputation. read more

Denny's is a staple of almost any town. Denny's is like an old friend, there when you need them and there when you don't. Always open and always ready to feed you. Woodburn Denny's is one of the smaller Denny's I have seen. They have been re-modeling the whole place. They are done now and it looks very nice. The bar area is amazing too. The food is always good and the service it okay. If they are super busy expect to wait a little. If it's slow you will be served fast. That's how it works in ever restaurant. If you eat that this one lot get a punch card, after 5 meals the 6 is on them. read more
