Isaiah and Vanessa in the front office are always friendly, helpful, and make the place feel very secure. You can tell they genuinely care about the customers and the safety of your items. Moved stuff into an 8 × 10 interior unit. It was clean enough, but it was a good ways from the door and where you can park the vehicle. But fine, I would have given a good review. But now, less than 60 days after moving in, I got notice of an 11 percent rate increase. I expect this shame business is going to keep doing that every 60 days until I get fed up. We'll, I'm fed up already. Foothill Youstor plays the same game. Will look for storage company that offers up-front pricing that holds for the year. read more

Even with the yearly inflation of rent it maintains to be affordable, super safe, clean and friendly atmosphere. The on site maintenance guy is very helpful if I ever need anything. So glad I found this place! I'm moving into my fiancé's apartment and needed storage for my tons of belongings, until we get a bigger place. This storage facility is VERY clean, easily accessible, and with great service. My unit is indoors but still very easy to drive up to and unload. I was quoted $131 per month for a 10x10 unit, which fit the contents of my 1-bedroom apartment perfectly Tetris-stacked. As a deal for new customers, it's $110 for the first 3 months. Donald gave me a very descriptive run-down of the unit, policies and procedures, showed us how to open and close the gate outside, and answered any questions we had. I can access the unit from 7-7 daily, but they make arrangements in advance if I ever need to get in after hours. They set up automated payments too, which is helpful for forgetful people like me. I'm happy that I didn't have to look very hard to find my storage space, and I feel that my things are well taken-care of. read more

Made a Uhaul reservation online....only 1 person was working counter, she took about 30 minutes to help the guest before me. I don't want to say racism but when she stepped outside to get them there vehicle she asked me to step outside. I just wanted to pay my rent. Worst customer service! I was asked by manager Vanessa Vargas to call back, turns out I had to call 8 times in December, to get a hold of anybody, & another 14 (fourteen) times for January, to no avail. Got transferred to their Call Center manager, said he will call me back; he didn't catch my name or phone number! Martin Gonzalez's general managerial skills & his store's customer service are garbage! Go elsewhere. He hung up on me when I finally did get in contact with him. Then, he transfers me back to Call Center due to his gross incompetence. I've been here since 2014, this is the worst it's been, it is really going downhill fast! That's not even saying anything about the homeless who reside in the units. Even with a student discount, still not worth staying here. If this is how they are in 2019, I will not be their customer in '20. Nor should you. Public Storage is better, try them. read more

I have been here around 5 or 6 months. At first service was great. Friendly. Always helpful. Than I came in one weekend and almost everyone was gone. They changed management or something. But the new staff is so so. I mean they aren't the rudest bunch. But def not what it was. I am looking into relocating my storage to a new facility. I would have already done this if my schedule allowed. But it's def not the same. Why people feel the need to change a great staff is beyond me. Probably less pay for employees. Or they just brought the employees along and gave the boot to the staff that was there. Hopefully this place does shitty. And they are forced out. I recently found myself needing a temporary place to store most of my belongings as I get ready to move across the country in a few months. I went to Route 66 Self Storage this morning and sat with Joanne, who was very kind, helpful, knowledgable and friendly. She made me feel very much at ease and within a half an hour, I had a key to a unit that will work perfectly for my needs. I'm not someone that usually chooses a service without doing my due dilagence and getting a bunch of quotes, but this time, everything she quoted me with right on par with what I had read online, and I felt no need to spend more time on my search for a storage unit. Had a great experience renting the unit and getting my things in. I worked with Martin who is very friendly and professional. However, about 4 months into renting the unit, there was a rate increase of about 9% on my unit that showed up on my autopay bill. I did not receive notification about the increase, and was shocked by how high the increase was - I think it's ridiculous, especially a few short months in. I called the office several times but could not get through to management, although they left me a message stating that they had mailed out a notification at the end of the year. I never received it. Nor did I receive an email, although I receive a monthly billing statement like clockwork. I also did not receive a personal heads up about expected rate increases during my initial paperwork with management, nor did I receive a schedule of how rate increases could be administered. I called customer service for the larger company, and they said they had "no idea" about rate increases, and that rate increases are determined by individual facilities at their own will. Great. This is the sort of grimy business practice that just makes me shake my head. A 3-4% increase is normal and to be expected, but an almost 10% increase feels like exploitation. There isn't enough customer service and professionalism in the world that can shake the feeling that a business is being somewhat unethical, while having direct access to your bank account. Businesses like this know they have people using the facility who might be in-between places, or who are stuck, and have to stash most of their belongings there. Allegedly notifying someone in the last days of December (again, I didn't receive it) about a rate increase administered the very next month doesn't sound right to me. I can take the hit, but I also work with many individuals who are homeless and/or low-income in Pomona, and I know at times a rate increase like this can be devastating, leaving them unable to pay a bill that leads to the loss of all of their things. I have yet to speak with management, will have to head down there to figure this out. read more

It's clean both in the interior and exterior. The facility truck was available any time we needed it and the team even helped accommodate us with a unit that would make load in/load out easy for us with a 53' semi-truck. I loved this place until I went a couple of times and there were homeless people waiting by the gate. They enter as soon as you key in your gate code for the door to open. I went to the office to let them know but they said that homeless people own some storage spaces there. I said that's ok if they are paying customers but that would mean they should have their own gate code to go in and out of the facility. The guy just shrugged and didnt have a response to that. The office is right in front of the gate and for security reasons, they should not allow bystanders to loiter by the gate (visible from the office) and waiting for a paying customer to open the gate. I called the corporate office to complain because I nobody picks up phone calls from the Route 66 location. I received a letter from saying that I need to pay my bill. I told the guy from the corporate office that I have autopay, which he confirmed. He was puzzled about the notice to pay letter too. I then told him about the bystander incidents. He tried to call the route 66 location for a 3-way call but, no surprise, nobody picked up. He then told me that they will contact the location about my complain. A month later,, my rent went up by $30. I looked at their website and the price for the space that I am renting is still the old price, $30 less. BTW, when you call this location, expect a voicemail and do not expect a return call. I'm in the process of slowly moving my stuff to another storage. Be warned. This place is not like it used to be. My only concern is there are people who are living out of there units, like changing clothes in the hallway while I'm moving my stuff. I know life gets tough but damn. This is my first time renting a storage unit, so I have no prior experience to go off of, but my experience at Route 66 Self Storage has been awesome and probably better than it would have been if i would have gone somewhere else! The renting process was easy and the person at the front desk (i think his name was Donald) was super cool and helpful. The units are really nice and clean, they have cameras everywhere and alarms on all of the storage units. I feel really safe keeping my stuff there and am very happy with the price i am paying!
