A hilly entrance, units are various sizes, all outdoor access. Large units are great for storing all that life has brought your way. Light switches are located on the outside of the units. Limited parking spaces available for large vehicle storage along the east side of the facility. During an evening move the area was well lit. read more

Route 66 Self Storage - Well lit facility - Self Storage Near Me - Pomona, California

I've had my storage unit here for almost two years now, and I honestly couldn't be happier. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and I feel very safe keeping my belongings here. The rates are fair, and when I needed to move to a bigger unit, it was still a great deal. The staff really makes the difference. Isaiah and Vanessa in the front office are always friendly, helpful, and make the place feel very secure. You can tell they genuinely care about the customers and the safety of your items. On top of that, my girlfriend has had her storage unit here for six years and has never had a single issue which says a lot. Between both of our experiences, this is hands down a place I trust with my valuable belongings. Highly recommend! read more

The prick with the glasses and beard would not allow my combat disabled veteran grandfather to use the bathroom. They allow bathroom Use for customers and he decided to not let my grandfather use it because of personal issues. read more

Moved stuff into an 8 × 10 interior unit. It was clean enough, but it was a good ways from the door and where you can park the vehicle. But fine, I would have given a good review. But now, less than 60 days after moving in, I got notice of an 11 percent rate increase. I expect this shame business is going to keep doing that every 60 days until I get fed up. We'll, I'm fed up already. Foothill Youstor plays the same game. Will look for storage company that offers up-front pricing that holds for the year. read more

I've been renting here for a few years now and both the staff and the facilities are awesome. Even with the yearly inflation of rent it maintains to be affordable, super safe, clean and friendly atmosphere. The on site maintenance guy is very helpful if I ever need anything. I definitely recommend this place to any persons looking for a storage unit. read more

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! I would recommend Route 66 Self Storage to anyone looking to rent a storage unit. Martin is one of the coolest guys I've met who is Very friendly, honest and upfront about everything. I've been to 2 storage facilities prior to coming here and I won't mention any names (Public Storage) and was very irritated with the way they pressure you into buying supplies instead of a storage unit!! At Route 66 I was in and out within 20 minutes and was not pressured into buying any supplies. So if you're looking to rent a safe and secure unit in a clean facility please go check them out. Best storage experience ever!!! If I could give 10 starts I would. Thank you Martin read more

So glad I found this place! I'm moving into my fiancé's apartment and needed storage for my tons of belongings, until we get a bigger place. This storage facility is VERY clean, easily accessible, and with great service. My unit is indoors but still very easy to drive up to and unload. I was quoted $131 per month for a 10x10 unit, which fit the contents of my 1-bedroom apartment perfectly Tetris-stacked. As a deal for new customers, it's $110 for the first 3 months. Donald gave me a very descriptive run-down of the unit, policies and procedures, showed us how to open and close the gate outside, and answered any questions we had. I can access the unit from 7-7 daily, but they make arrangements in advance if I ever need to get in after hours. They set up automated payments too, which is helpful for forgetful people like me. I'm happy that I didn't have to look very hard to find my storage space, and I feel that my things are well taken-care of. read more

Excellent and reliable storage facility. Clean, convenient, with a very safe security system. Nice professional staff to work with.

Kept my college stuff here until I got back had no issues. Friendly helpful staff that answered my questions in quickly by email.

Super clean and nice storage place. I like the secure environment and surveillance. Honestly better than ones we had before. I think the rates are pretty reasonable as well. Glad we found this place. Thanks Martin for all your help. read more

Awesome service by Martin! Clear and concise--smooth process. Thanks for getting us in quickly. Prices are a little high for students, but grateful for a safe space and storage of our belongings. read more

What a great experience! After being under tremendous stress due to my apartment complex (FOOTHILL VILLAGE APTS.) giving a two notice that they are taking away our storage cupboards, Route 66 employee Martin made renting a unit easy and pleasant! Very clean premises and GREAT HOURS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING A STORAGE UNIT HERE IF YOU ARE IN NEED. read more

Made a Uhaul reservation online....only 1 person was working counter, she took about 30 minutes to help the guest before me. I don't want to say racism but when she stepped outside to get them there vehicle she asked me to step outside. Upon doing so she proceeded to lock the door leaving me outside of the establishment in the summer heat. Not the best customer service...... read more

Great experience. This is my first time in need of a storage unit and the team were very kind and helpful. They honored my online quote that I was given and I am even able to book there moving truck with a breeze. Very clean safe as well and accessible units. read more

I just wanted to pay my rent. Worst customer service! I was asked by manager Vanessa Vargas to call back, turns out I had to call 8 times in December, to get a hold of anybody, & another 14 (fourteen) times for January, to no avail. Got transferred to their Call Center manager, said he will call me back; he didn't catch my name or phone number! Martin Gonzalez's general managerial skills & his store's customer service are garbage! Go elsewhere. He hung up on me when I finally did get in contact with him. Then, he transfers me back to Call Center due to his gross incompetence. I've been here since 2014, this is the worst it's been, it is really going downhill fast! That's not even saying anything about the homeless who reside in the units. Even with a student discount, still not worth staying here. If this is how they are in 2019, I will not be their customer in '20. Nor should you. Public Storage is better, try them. read more

I came into Route 66 Storage on a whim as I was headed to another facility to rent a space and thought I'd check it out. I have been here around 5 or 6 months. At first service was great. Friendly. Always helpful. Than I came in one weekend and almost everyone was gone. They changed management or something. But the new staff is so so. I mean they aren't the rudest bunch. But def not what it was. I am looking into relocating my storage to a new facility. I would have already done this if my schedule allowed. But it's def not the same. Why people feel the need to change a great staff is beyond me. Probably less pay for employees. Or they just brought the employees along and gave the boot to the staff that was there. Hopefully this place does shitty. And they are forced out. And someone who is more customer friendly takes over again. read more

Update: I was contacted as a result of this review and advised by management that they are changing brand. Knocking off one star because there should have been more notice so people don't freak out but otherwise I'm grateful I got such a quick response. Original Review: Greeeaaat. I went to go pay my bill online and their parent website is no longer showing this location. I have tried to call twice and both times someone picks up and hangs up. I still have my things there, and I didn't receive any notice! What is going on?! I'm still at work otherwise I would go down there! read more

This location is wonderful! There's a professional atmosphere and Martin was nice and informative! He answered all my questions and the process was quick! I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to get a storage unit! read more

Used Route 66 for storage when we were waiting for our new home. The staff was kind and helpful. The specials were very competitive & the facility felt safe & secure. It's clean both in the interior and exterior. The facility truck was available any time we needed it and the team even helped accommodate us with a unit that would make load in/load out easy for us with a 53' semi-truck. They really thought of it all. I would recommend this facility! read more

I recently found myself needing a temporary place to store most of my belongings as I get ready to move across the country in a few months. I went to Route 66 Self Storage this morning and sat with Joanne, who was very kind, helpful, knowledgable and friendly. She made me feel very much at ease and within a half an hour, I had a key to a unit that will work perfectly for my needs. I'm not someone that usually chooses a service without doing my due dilagence and getting a bunch of quotes, but this time, everything she quoted me with right on par with what I had read online, and I felt no need to spend more time on my search for a storage unit. Recommended highly. read more

My partner and I our remodeling our home and currently need to move some stuff into storage. I came into Route 66 to check out what my options were and Vanessa was extremely helpful in showing me the best spaces for the two rooms I needed to move to storage and the best bang for my buck. The facilities were extremely clean and secure so I feel safe choosing them as my storage facility. Will def recommend to my friends looking for storage. read more

Had a great experience renting the unit and getting my things in. I worked with Martin who is very friendly and professional. However, about 4 months into renting the unit, there was a rate increase of about 9% on my unit that showed up on my autopay bill. I did not receive notification about the increase, and was shocked by how high the increase was - I think it's ridiculous, especially a few short months in. I called the office several times but could not get through to management, although they left me a message stating that they had mailed out a notification at the end of the year. I never received it. Nor did I receive an email, although I receive a monthly billing statement like clockwork. I also did not receive a personal heads up about expected rate increases during my initial paperwork with management, nor did I receive a schedule of how rate increases could be administered. I called customer service for the larger company, and they said they had "no idea" about rate increases, and that rate increases are determined by individual facilities at their own will. Great. This is the sort of grimy business practice that just makes me shake my head. A 3-4% increase is normal and to be expected, but an almost 10% increase feels like exploitation. There isn't enough customer service and professionalism in the world that can shake the feeling that a business is being somewhat unethical, while having direct access to your bank account. Businesses like this know they have people using the facility who might be in-between places, or who are stuck, and have to stash most of their belongings there. Allegedly notifying someone in the last days of December (again, I didn't receive it) about a rate increase administered the very next month doesn't sound right to me. I can take the hit, but I also work with many individuals who are homeless and/or low-income in Pomona, and I know at times a rate increase like this can be devastating, leaving them unable to pay a bill that leads to the loss of all of their things. I have yet to speak with management, will have to head down there to figure this out. read more

I loved this place until I went a couple of times and there were homeless people waiting by the gate. They enter as soon as you key in your gate code for the door to open. I went to the office to let them know but they said that homeless people own some storage spaces there. I said that's ok if they are paying customers but that would mean they should have their own gate code to go in and out of the facility. The guy just shrugged and didnt have a response to that. The office is right in front of the gate and for security reasons, they should not allow bystanders to loiter by the gate (visible from the office) and waiting for a paying customer to open the gate. I called the corporate office to complain because I nobody picks up phone calls from the Route 66 location. I received a letter from saying that I need to pay my bill. I told the guy from the corporate office that I have autopay, which he confirmed. He was puzzled about the notice to pay letter too. I then told him about the bystander incidents. He tried to call the route 66 location for a 3-way call but, no surprise, nobody picked up. He then told me that they will contact the location about my complain. A month later,, my rent went up by $30. I looked at their website and the price for the space that I am renting is still the old price, $30 less. BTW, when you call this location, expect a voicemail and do not expect a return call. I'm in the process of slowly moving my stuff to another storage. Be warned. This place is not like it used to be. Bad business practice. read more

I have used a half dozen storage units in different locales over the last three or four decades. This is the best. The service is great. The units are climate controlled, which protects many objects. And they are a responsible business. I recommend them enthusiastically. Also, the employees have been with the company for years and are great with clients. Store your stuff here. read more

Storage places can be creepy. This is the most un-creepiest storage place I've ever seen. The folks who work there are super helpful and explain everything in detail. They gave me a right on estimate and didn't try to sell me a larger unit than I needed which other places did do. . . .The prices are reasonable and the whole place is impeccably clean. Thank you! read more

This is my second time using 66 storage. It is a nice facility but smelly by my unit. My only concern is there are people who are living out of there units, like changing clothes in the hallway while I'm moving my stuff. I know life gets tough but damn. Otherwise I'd say I'm relatively happy with Route 66 storage. The staff was very helpful when signing in. Thanks!! read more

This is my first time renting a storage unit, so I have no prior experience to go off of, but my experience at Route 66 Self Storage has been awesome and probably better than it would have been if i would have gone somewhere else! The renting process was easy and the person at the front desk (i think his name was Donald) was super cool and helpful. The units are really nice and clean, they have cameras everywhere and alarms on all of the storage units. I feel really safe keeping my stuff there and am very happy with the price i am paying! I'm a returning customer because of their outstanding customer service. Last time they provided a truck and a helper free of charge while moving your stuff in. They have now changed that you have to rent the U-Haul but are really cool about it to give you the cost of the rental off your month's bill. So basically still free! The whole compound is excellently maintained and the staff is always professional. Most of the units are very well climate controlled. Every unit I looked at, which was quite a few, were all super clean. I've never seen a bug or even a spider there! Like WOW! read more
