Disclaimer: Had I not been part of a large gathering that was coming here, I doubt I ever would have come to this buffet. Pros: They had the World Cup playing on a "2017 New" 36ish inch TV with the tags still on it The food was mostly hot The cream cheese wontons were delicious, creamy, and crispy Cons: I tried like 11 items, and only the cream cheese wontons were hittin'. Out of the 11 items I tried, only 3-4 items were passable as decent The food was salty The black pepper chicken tasted like fish The food ended up giving my bubble guts the bubble guts-SHEESH! While there were loads of offerings, which I appreciate, the organization of said offerings were a bit strange. The hibachi was set-up going left to right, while the food stations on either side of it were going right to left, creating this crazy clash of people heading in opposite directions. It just wasn't for me.

I wasn't expecting much to begin with, so maybe that's why I am surprised. Then, you can go back for more . . . again. And don't forget to grab a plate of desserts so you can taste those too. A rather sketchy customer crowd, but it is a buffet. BUT this one ain't it! There were a handful of items that were decently edible like mashed potatoes and gravy. The salad bar was also alright. It's difficult to mess up chopped lettuce mix because it only requires opening a bag or container and pouring the contents into the bin. Fried chicken was fine as long as you are able to get a piece or two. I noticed if you come in later in the evening, the food is not replenished so you are stuck with bottom of the bin caked on dry remnants. Here are the highlights: the server bringing the drinks and busing tables was doing her best to be happy and welcoming. One of the cooks was very courteous and also did her best to anticipate customer needs. They get two thumbs up! Now for the fun part: The clam chowder was too salty and had an aftertaste of old dirty towel, promising a fitting end to my evening with a bad tummy ache. The cook making the steak didn't seem to care about communicating a single word with the customers. Her sole purpose was to repeatedly flip something that looked like meat and point to a bin full of burned protein hockey pucks. I noticed how the line of hungry patrons grew with eager anticipation as she stopped flipping and started attempting to slice. As each diner finally walked away with something on their plate, she was free to disappear in the back to probably make more clam chowder. I watched a couple seated near me with steak on their plate. Husband was breaking a sweat trying to slice a piece while his wife was busy trying to gracefully eject something inedible from her mouth. Now on to the pinnacle of the meal - dessert time. There wasn't much left, so I chose a slice of pecan pie. It looked promising, like something you could pick up at the local grocery store, but that's where any similarity ends. It tasted old and stale, like it was made from expired corn syrup found at the bottom of the moldy basement. The soft serve ice cream machine was screaming like an exit door alarm every time someone pulled the arm to coax out some frozen ice milk. Then I spotted the highlight of the evening. I didn't think it was possible to mess up jello, but heck you learn something new everyday. I captured that masterpiece in a photo. Sadly, the owner of this location really needs to put many improvements in place. People do enjoy going to buffets and truly miss Souplantation and HomeTown Buffet. Golden Corral has the potential to fill this gap. It is in a good location anchored by Target with lots of parking to serve a busy neighborhood in oceanside. It also has a few employees who still care to do a good job. So please take the good location and good staff and make this Golden Corral a worthy business for hungry patrons looking to spend money at a place with quality food and variety.

It felt like the waiters and waitresses were constantly eyeing our table to see if we needed anything or were ready to order more. They refilled our water carafe before it was completely empty, changed our grills before we asked, and took away empty plates as soon as we cleared them. I also appreciated that they put salt or something on the ground so it wasn't too slippery. The only complaint I had about the place was that it was really hot but I could see the waitresses were also really hot as they fanned themselves walking around. The food were was actually pretty solid for an ayce restaurant. We got the deluxe plan which is the cheaper option for $30.99. The brisket came with some salt and pepper on it and looked like a better cut than I've seen at other places. We also got some kalbi which came without the bone which is so nice because we didn't have to cut it off and have little meat left over. My husband and I also really liked the marinated steak. I typically like non marinated meat better but the steak was tender and the marinade wasn't too sweet. I used the salt to help cut the sweetness and wrapped it in a lettuce with some radish. I really liked all the meats we tried here. They also have really good sides here that you can't get anymore at a lot of kbbq places like the steamed egg or corn cheese plate. All of the food options were so good and I left very stuffed. I would definitely recommend then kbbq ayce restaurant to anyone in the area!

DON'T GO THERE!! This location has long been one of our favorite pizza stops, which is why this experience was so disappointing. We came in knowing exactly what we wanted. There was no indecision, no special requests, and we were polite throughout the entire interaction. Unfortunately, the larger middle-aged woman who took our order--who appeared to be the manager--was immediately rude and dismissive. Rather than making an issue of it, we simply assumed she was having a bad day and moved on. After placing our order, we sat at a table within clear sight of the counter. We intentionally chose that location because, in the past, employees would typically call out, "Sir, your pizza is ready," when an order was complete. After approximately 25 minutes, we approached the counter with our receipt to check on the status of our order. The same manager looked at us and asked, "How can I help you?" despite the obvious fact that we were waiting for the pizza we had ordered. She continued performing cleaning tasks while we stood there waiting. Eventually, she walked to the back, retrieved our pizza, and handed it to us. It was already boxed and had clearly been sitting there for some time. I opened the box to check the pizza and determine whether it was still hot. While it was not cold, it was noticeably less fresh and less warm than what I have come to expect from this location. At that point, I had no desire to argue or complain. In all honesty, I had already decided that I would simply stop patronizing that location and move on. The situation became worse over a very simple request. We politely asked, "May we have some Parmesan and red pepper flakes, please?" Instead of simply providing them, the manager responded in a hostile tone, repeatedly stating, "I asked you. I asked you, and you didn't say anything. I asked you." My response was, "What happened to this place? This place has changed, and not in a good way." Rather than de-escalating the situation, she continued raising her voice and began explaining that she had to do everything herself and was handling the store alone. I respectfully reminded her that I was a customer, and that staffing issues, workload concerns, and management decisions were not matters for customers to absorb or solve. Those are concerns that should be addressed with ownership or management, not directed at paying guests. After leaving, I decided to read some online reviews. To my surprise, the very first negative review described what appeared to be the exact same employee. As I continued reading, I found a consistent pattern. Review after review described the same rude, dismissive, and confrontational behavior. I then checked Google reviews and found much of the same. At that point, my disappointment shifted away from the employee herself and toward ownership and management. One unpleasant interaction can happen anywhere. A pattern that appears repeatedly over an extended period suggests something very different. If numerous customers are describing the same individual and the same behavior, then this is no longer simply an employee issue--it is a leadership issue. What concerns me most is that this individual appears to be in a position of leadership. In customer service, punctuality and work ethic are important, but attitude is equally important. Customers can be understanding of mistakes, delays, and even staffing shortages when they are treated with basic courtesy and respect. What is difficult to understand is how someone who consistently displays such abrasive and confrontational behavior remains in a leadership role while apparently generating the same complaints over and over again. I am not writing this in hopes of receiving compensation or free food. I am writing because this used to be one of our favorite locations, and it is genuinely disappointing to watch a business lose its reputation through a problem that appears both obvious and correctable. This experience was beyond disappointing. read more

It's clear the franchise owners are oblivious to what's happening at their location, and it's a huge problem. The staff's incompetence is making a mockery of the Round Table name and, more importantly, is a significant financial drain. Having to remake an order three times isn't just an inconvenience for the customer; it's a massive waste of food and labor. That's three times the cost of ingredients, three times the overhead of oven use, and three times the employee's time wasted because they can't get a simple order right. This isn't just a bad day; it's a systemic failure. The franchise owners are essentially watching their investment get thrown in the garbage, piece by piece, with every botched order. The brand's reputation is being tarnished, and they're hemorrhaging money on preventable mistakes. They need to realize that the poor staff performance isn't just an annoyance--it's a direct threat to the profitability and long-term viability of their business. read more

I'm leaving this review because I'm genuinely shocked by the level of incompetence. I called Round Table Pizza to check on my order, which was already running late. The person on the phone assured me it was "a minute away." A MINUTE. I waited, and waited, and waited. Over an hour passed. I called back, and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. What followed was a frustrating, almost two-hour wait for two pizzas. Are you kidding me? Almost two hours for pizza in this day and age is completely unacceptable. The staff on the phone were either lying or completely clueless about their own delivery system. This is a basic function of a delivery restaurant. How can you be so wrong about the ETA of an order? The pizza, when it finally arrived, was lukewarm and tasted like it had been sitting around for a long time. I'm beyond disappointed and will not be ordering from this location again. I'm writing this review because I have never encountered such a toxic, incompetent environment, and it all starts with the manager, Adriana. There is no doubt in my mind that she and her entire team should be fired. Adriana is, without a doubt, the worst manager I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Her leadership style is not to solve problems but to actively make them worse. She seems to take pleasure in a customer's frustration, and her "solution" to a long wait time was to spitefully cancel my order, proving she enjoys making situations worse instead of right. This attitude has clearly infected the entire staff. They seem utterly clueless about how to run a business. My order was remade three times, showing a shocking lack of attention to detail and a complete disregard for quality control. They are single-handedly destroying the Round Table name and wasting the franchise owner's money with every incompetent mistake. read more

This Round Table Pizza location in Oceanside is an absolute disaster. The service is nonexistent, the food is inedible, and the manager, Adriana, is completely incompetent. From the moment we walked in, we were ignored. It took forever to get our order taken, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and tasted stale. The pizza was greasy, and the crust was limp and undercooked. It was clear that no one there cared about the quality of the food they were serving. The worst part of the experience was dealing with Adriana. She was rude, dismissive, and seemed completely uninterested in addressing our concerns. When we politely tried to explain the issues with our order, she just shrugged and walked away. It's unbelievable that someone with such a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction could be in a management position. She should be let go immediately. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I was at this location last Wednesday night and I was very displeased with the service. The food was alright but not worth the price. And then when we were done eating I walked up to the front counter just to get a box for the rest of our pizza, and the Hispanic male that was working in the kitchen completely ignored me. Even made eye contact with me and still let me stand there for 5 minutes. I finally went and asked the young lady sweeping on the other side of the restaurant to help me. She apologized up and down and said she would talk to the kitchen staff. Very sweet girl. I wish I got her name! I'm pretty sure she said was in charge of the shift or something like that. The absolute worst dining experience I've ever had, and it's all thanks to the manager, Adriana. My order was taking forever, so I politely inquired about it, hoping to get an update. Instead of helping, Adriana showed up, immediately acted defensive, and made the situation ten times worse. She didn't try to make anything right; she went out of her way to be difficult, even canceling my order right in front of me after I'd already been waiting for so long. She clearly got a kick out of showing me who was boss instead of doing her job. A good manager diffuses a situation, but Adriana just adds fuel to the fire. The crust was perfectly baked, with just the right balance of crisp and chew. The sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming, and the toppings were fresh and pretty generous. The pizza was clearly made fresh and, best of all, it wasn't greasy. Our favorite was the Hawaiian, we really appreciated their twist on this classic. They used fresh pineapple (not canned!), which added great flavor, and paired it with thinly sliced ham for a deliciously balanced bite. The prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. It's a small, local spot with a cozy and welcoming vibe. The service was very friendly, and the food came out hot and fast.

Been a while since we've been here though so having a toasted onion bread was a new experience, but the ATCs were pretty good. At first I was disappointed in not seeing any sprouts among the few veggie toppings, but the employee turned around to a back counter and sure enough, they had them! While we sat and ate in the store (sandwiches were of good of course), a couple customers later, the employee asked if they wanted their sandwiches with pickles, pepperocinis, olives, sprouts; I was like what??? Where were those? They weren't readily visible (again, they are on the back counter behind the employee prepping the sandwiches), but surely would have loved more veggies if only we had been asked! So taking a star off for that. Maybe if the store had all the veggies in trays on the front counter as they used to, we'd have known they were there and it wouldn't matter about being asked because they'd be right there to see. But as we'd not been there for a while, I assumed they were casualties of the COVID times and no longer being offered. Aw well, next time.

Nowadays if I'm in town and and in the mood for a sandwich I'll stop by this location for a bite. The store itself is generally not too busy whenever I go. Service for me has usually been timely and friendly. I still order the roast beef and provolone on a extra large sub and get it with all the veggies. Taste-wise, the sandwich is still as I remember it as a kid. Simple flavors and fresh ingredients. What keeps me from coming back very often is how much the price of an extra larg sub sandwich has increased. It's almost $20 now as of the time of this review. Though admittedly, I will say the nostalgia is what keeps me coming back.
