My wife and I were craving pizza after a month-long trip to Asia. Since we weren't looking to go far, we ordered a large pizza with mushrooms from this Roundtable, located on the resort property where we were staying in Hawaii. Other than the service, which was very good, the pizza was mediocre at best. I've had Roundtable plenty of times in other states and have enjoyed them. The biggest problem with this pizza was that the pie had almost no sauce. All we could taste was the cheese and the tad undercooked crust. We joked about picking up a jar of pasta sauce to finish the rest of the pie. Also, there was very little mushroom topping. I sat on the opposite end of the restaurant, which may have contributed to my assessment, but I also stood at the entry for a period of time before approving that this was a suitable establishment to eat at. I came here during dinner and there were a couple of tables open for seating. The wait was a bit long due to the obvious dinner rush. We ordered the Garlic Chicken. A large pizza will set you back $34 + taxes, which is standard island pricing in a dense area that is adjacent to the beach. The server (Chris) was friendly and ready to take our entire order on his notepad. I don't expect Michelin star service at a pizzeria. Aside from the greeting, I appreciated that he was professional and took our order promptly. Overall, you will find several families with children eating a meal at a recognized restaurant with respectable pricing. I'll preface this review with the fact that I've been eating Round Table Pizza for close to 50 years. I'm a big fan of Round Table Pizza. Why? It's the last honest pizza. I have had thousands of pizzas from multiple states from Round Table. However, the pizza at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Round Table is just....horrible. I've had a number of pizzas here, and it's almost always the same. They don't follow the instructions and seem unwilling or unable to follow any additional instructions. For instance, if you want to have the pizza slightly crispy or to have extra sauce, forget it. It just won't happen. The last few pizzas I've had from this location have been less than fresh. Not sure, but it seems that the sauce is less than fresh, likely allowed to sit out in the heat too long. My last pizza was ordered this weekend...i had a few slices and the rest I just threw away... it was that bad. So, 1 star for being a Round Round Table Pizza. One star because it's pizza! No more stars because the service is less than mediocre, because of the inability to follow instructions on multiple occasions and opportunities, poor parking options at this location, and price. You can get a better pizza at almost any other location. Giovanni Pastrami has a decent pizza for a round table, J Dolan is an incredible pizza, and a variety of other locations are much better options. I hate to give such a poor review, but this is a result of consistently bad pizzas and service for years. I won't go back, never again. Hard to explain but when you get freshly made pizza even from a chain, there's a fairly long threshold where the pizza still tastes good even with slightly less than high quality ingredients... this one did not meet that *standard* Easy location if you're staying in the Hilton Hawaiian Village area.
