Half the table ate while the rest of us sat starving. It was really special coming across a truly caring, compassionate and kind server in the restaurant industry. He went above and beyond to ensure our kids were taken care of. My wife and I thought the concept of pork belly and kimchi pizza and bulgogi pizza was nice, since we ate it in Korea and loved it. Here's our take on the results: Pork belly and Kimchi pizza: Looked pretty tasty. I took my first bite and couldn't believe that mayonnaise was the sauce of choice...I love mayo on many things. Pork belly and kimchi? Not a shot. Pork belly itself didn't taste good. Bulgogi Pizza: raw bell peppers and mushrooms with bulgogi? Odd enough. Kimchi with bulgogi? Huh? Oh and kimchi juice as the sauce? Was this a mistake? A prank? Assault? I wonder if the concepts were tasted before adding them to the menu, or if we, the customers, are his Guinea pigs... Lastly, price does NOT match the product. Ever see a BLT or grilled cheese on a menu for 15 bucks and think "who would ever order that?!" Same thing here. Pizza is pretty much a personal sized pizza for the price of large (unless it's Boston's). Summary: Stay away from this place. I feel like someone is gonna get sick from this place. My wife and I visited on a Tuesday night. When we arrived, there was one person at the bar and two active tables. We were very hungry and did not wait. We placed our entire order right away and waited. Other people arrived making five active tables ( including ours) in a restaurant that has the potential to have approx 30 tables. People who arrived after us started receiving their food items and we had not even received our salads. 50 min later, I urgently asked if my food was anywhere close to be delivered. We the got our salad. Awesome Caesar salad. We still waited another 10 minutes for our pizzas. When it came out it was warm but not hot. It had been sitting a while before it was brought to our table. The sausage and mushroom pizza had ok flavor but very little sausage. (Fresh mushrooms) Did I mention cheese? No, that's because there was none! Someone forgot or really skimped on the mozzarella. It just was not there. The seafood pizza toppings were fresh but overcooked. At least on the seafood pizza there was some cheese. The waitstaff was pleasant but just did not bring the service. I still tipped 15%. Poor customer service. The server took long to take our order, checked on us only once, and never brought us the check despite asking for it. We had to get up and request it again. The server appeared to be more concerned with texting and chit chatting with people at the bar. Take your business elsewhere. Terrible customer service. We came here twice during our 5 days in Waikiki. It's a new restaurant, just getting started, but in a fantastic location with interesting options. On the first visit we had the kimchi pork belly pizza - delicious! A little spicy drizzle on top, excellent crust. Our waiter, Dexter, was so nice and helpful. By far the best pizza on the island! The pizza was glossed with a nice mozzarella glaise but wasn't too overwhelming for the palate. A perfect balancing act if I do say myself. Tried to call four times to order but no answer, walked there and found out that the kitchen closed early, about 15 min early. New Pizza establishment called "Pizza Pie" on Ala Moana Blvd at Discovery Bay. It is connected with the new Kan Sushi Buffet restaurant. These restaurants are Right across from the old Wailana Near the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I gave it a 5 star due to the whole Experience. This is a comfy place To unwind for lunch or after work. It has a nice bar setup. The bartender is a professional mixologist. Everyone there was super nice, friendly and helpful. I look forward to a revisit. Along With a assortment of different kinds of Pizza they also have an Array of Pastas. The menu also Host an epic dessert called the Apricot Pie. For my pizza I ordered the Casertana. The dough was a Homemade thin crust of a chewy Consistency. The cheese, Rapini & Italian Sausage were super fresh. No complaints. This is not the most popular pizza on the menu But was what I wanted. Pic enclosed. I believe the Kim Chee Pork belly And the Beef Bulgogi are two of the most popular pizzas to order. Next time I will bring friends to try these other pizzas.
