This store just keeps getting worse, they have to treat you like cattle now. You go in there stop you and make your wait in a little area. They say it's to monitor guests, but it's really because they had too much theft and now they have to get you on camera. Now they have two armed security guys at each entrance. You also now have to show your receipt to leave. Pretty wild. The elevator is never working, so that sucks because all the big stuff and kid stuff is upstairs. Ross Dress for less often has unique items at bargain prices. If you see something and decide you want to sleep on it before buying it,, buy it. It we ill not be there when you go back. Be prepared to have time to shop and browse, the store is often packed with a variety of items. The fitting room access varies depending on location. The lines are often long and the wait time can very but sometimes the line moves at a fast pace. The deals are often worth the wait in line. read more

The experience at Ross stores is akin to shopping at a thrift store, only the items are new. Ross Dress for Less - Men's Jeans - Department Stores Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This place has gone down hill and fast. They are running the store like it's some high end club to get in. There were ropes on the outside with people in line outside the store. Once you get inside the store, you have to wait in a square roped off area and wait for their security guard to get clearance to let you in. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. They have a person at each door. One to enter and one to leave. The person at the exit which is literally two feet away from the check out stand and just sits there and watches everyone check out. Then the only way to proceed out is to show the receipt of the transaction that same person who just sat and watched you purchase said items to prove you have a receipt to get out. Not only that, they don't even look in your bag for what is on the receipt. They just draw a squiggle on the receipt. I could understand if you have to walk a yard to get to the exit but the person at the exit literally has to sit and watch each transaction. Then the best part they tried to compare themselves as Costco. This is the only Ross to go this extreme. Go to the one on Havana and have a less club feel and actually like a retail store. read more

I was in the store purchasing a few items for my kids. 16 items in total! When I arrived home I realized I only had 15 items in my bag. I returned to the store a few days later ( today ) and spoke with a lady named Rose at the front door. I explained the situation to her and she informed me that she couldn't leave the station for 30 minutes as she was covering someone on their lunch break. She stated when they returned that she would check the tapes to make sure the item wasn't put in my bag which would take an additional 10 minutes. I agreed to look around in the meantime! As I looked up and noticed the security had came back from lunch. Rose was nowhere to be found! I spoke to a couple of the cashier ladies who tried to help resolve the issue after they informed me that Rose ( the Area Supervisor ) at left for lunch. She knew I was waiting for her and I stayed near the cash registers the whole while look at other items. She just left without saying anything at all! I find this to be highly unprofessional and rude! My family has shopped at this location for easily 7+ years. The staff for the most part has been exceptional with the exception of this situation and one other last year ( a rude cashier ). For Rose to be an Area Supervisor and pull a move like this with a customer, says very little of the expectations that Ross has for customer service standards. read more

This location is smaller than some of the ones I've been to in Florida. But don't let size fool you. This place was packed with cute styles at a great price. Everything was clean, neat and organized. The people working here were really nice and helpful. The home decor and athletic clothing sections had a good amount of options. I was able to buy 2 cute dresses for work for under $25! I wouldn't even be able to buy 1 dress in NY for that price! I wish there was a Ross by me. Lol The lines were great. I only had to wait about 2 minutes. There were 3 cashiers open and the line was moving. Next time I'm in Denver, I'm coming back. read more

Horrible store. It is 2 stories but probably the messiest store I ever saw. Rolling racks empty everywhere couldn't even fit my baby stroller thru the isles. Nothing was sized in the right section. I have a love/hate relationship with this location. Love-hello, the name says it all--Dress for Less Love-Two levels so it seems like it's bigger and more spread out And that's about it! Hate-The location. Right off of Colorado and 25, it makes it a mess getting here due to traffic and random transients crossing the road. Parking at this location sucks as well thanks to a Best Buy, DSW, Village Inn and PetCo being in the same shopping center. Hate-The selection here, it's really hit or miss. I have to be in the mood to sift through clothes and it's usually really unorganized. Hate-The staff, they have been rude for the most part whether it be their mood with having to deal with this place on the daily or that they dont speak English. Who knows. Hate-The smell, it rivals some thrift stores I've been in. Funk is in the air my friends. Oh yeah I forgot about one more love--the people watching. Absolutely superb!! I like to play a game with myself guessing the number of wild, unattended children who are running around the store on the day I go in. read more

This is my favorite Ross location in the Denver area. This branch always has plenty of stock, and is usually quiet.

Sometimes, we have better days, sometimes things arent rosy after all. We have been purchasing alot of stuffs for our personal usage, for the used to be apartment and now for the house. At times, the place is in order. At times, its seems that a tornado has strike up this place. Still I like coming back to this ROSS, arent sure why... perhaps a mysterious magnectic pull or "attraction". Sometimes, the wait line to check out at the cashier can be painstaking, sometimes its not. So its all depends on the day you went and the time of hour you are there. I am a happy camper when I can get what I am looking for, sometimes unexpectedly or when they DO stock up on things I have been "eyeing"... All in all is an OK experience. read more

So, I've been to many many Ross shops & this is by far my favorite. They have some sick ass shoes (when they get them first in) and lots of hidden gems. I probably shouldn't do a review for Ross because I'd rather buy my clothes from a garage sale. And the garage is on fire. And there's a giant demon stabbing me with flaming daggers. Anyway, you get the point. My son wanted to go in to see if they had this kind of certain brand of shoe, so I braced myself and we entered the mess that is Ross. There is no customer service. Zero. The place is a disaster and the aisles are exactly 11 inches wide. There are NO items available for men. No shoes, no clothes, no socks, no nothing. So - I write this review for no other reason than to let men - and the women who love them - know that they need not waste their time at this particular Ross. Aside from the ever-present aroma of vomit and pickles I really do like Ross. I mean lets be honest, where else can you get some great deals and be entertained by some of the best people-watching to be had in Denver all at the same time? *side note: the best people watching local EVER is the Illinois State Fair...trust me on this* This is not the cleanest Ross location, but I prefer it over all others. They have the least "picked-over" selection and manage to keep the store in some form of noticable organization. Rarely do I buy clothes here, I find them to be rather cheap and of the polyester variety, but occasionally you can come across a cute Calvin Klein dress or BCBG top. The main reason I love Ross is for their unique and super cheap selection of household decor, kitchen items and linens. Probably 50% of my living room decor comes from Ross. I always have people asking me "this is so cute where did you get it?" and I love being able to answer "$5.99 at Ross bitches!" They also have a suprisingly large selection of pet products from toys, leashes, beds, bowls etc... My favorite purchase? An AeroGarden for $30 on clearance. I have enough cherry tomatoes to fill a hot tub...thank you Ross! read more

I really had to ask myself today, after shopping at Ross..."what am i willing to endure to save a few bucks?" First let me say that both Ross and TJ Maxx are the shopping equivalent to birth control. I can't imagine ANYONE who works there would EVER want to have children after listening, day after day, to the screaming monsters with their clueless parents. I am already planning my sterilization after just 40 minutes! The bargains are really hit or miss, sometimes it's amazing, other times it's hideous. And then there's the 8 item rule for the dressing room. Are you really freaken serious that my 9th item has to sit with the attendant and I have to make an extra trip to retreive it? That will really discourage shoplifters, why didn't I think of that??? Then finally there's the line to buy your items. I don't usually write a review but my visit to this store on 12/6/20 was less than pleasant. The manager and security guard with braids treated us terribly. I bought furniture and asked if I could prop the door open to carry it to my mothers car for her . He told me I couldn't prop the door and when I asked him to hold the door he said it wasn't his job. I was appalled because instead of lending a help hand he and the manager stood there and did nothing . I loved shopping at Ross but this experience has definitely changed my mind about spending anymore money here. Customer service was a huge fail. read more

Worst service i've ever had. Kat the cashier was on her phone so much that she messed up our transaction. When we said something about it, she promptly told us "If you would have looked at the ****ing machine you would have know to reinsert your card." I am writing a review of this store because I am very, very happy with my purchases today. I got: a big, comfy mom sweater (even though I'm not a mom) a pair of Dockers-like boat shoes (yay! I've been looking for a pair), and a throw for my couch that looks like it's been made out of a cable-knit sweater (I've been prowling for one of those at a cheaper-than-Pottery-Barn price!). Ross is a great place to go bargain hunting at, assuming that, on the day you go, they have ANYTHING worth buying. Sometimes, it is all junk. Occasionally, you find pots and pans like E and I got for 75% less than they were originally marketed at in some high-end cooking shop. Joy :) That being said, the place is a mess and looks like little gremlins went through it, wreaking havoc and misplacing stuff. And sometimes E and I can find nothing and instead search for THE ugliest item in the store. My family calls it "Christmas gift revenge," even though they never gift the hideous things they find. They just laugh over the absurdity of it all. My goal at Ross is to go in and look for stuff that came straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog - that is the style I am trying to attain on a VERY low budget. Keeping my sense of style in mind, I have come away with some great picture frames, bedding, blankets, and miscellaneous housewares, including an adorable tea pot and a paisley-print tote bag that I LOVE. I also go in with low expectations, since 3/4 of the time I set foot in the store, I find nothing worth my money. Ross lets me set free my whole housewife/soccer mom/closet interior designer side. Even if I find nothing most of the time, I think the treasures for bargain-basement prices that I have picked up after years of frequenting the place give it 4 stars in my book. Thrift store, department store, vintage store, clothier? I settled on Department store even though I was unaware for years that the upstairs was chockablock full of discounted housewares and linens. I guess I am a bargain shopper, but I don't buy just because something is a bargain. I mostly only buy when I can get a bargain on something I want at a bargain price. Get it? This store is not full of bargains, it's full of the possibility of bargains. I know that those of you who are in for instant gratification can't stand it because it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Still, I have a closet full of new, not used, designer items that I bought here for "bucks". If you know what you like, what looks good on you, and what will stand the test of seasons in your mind and on your body, you can do well here. If your kid wants something that you will never in your lifetime pay full price for, you can use Ross as a bargaining tactic. If you have a housefull of kids and want to buy a bundle of clothes, take them home to try on, and return the rejects then put it on your card and Ross is the place. Or, if you are looking for a shirt in a certain color, a certain fabric and a certain cut that you 100% know is not on the racks this season. Which for me, is often. When I want a nubby tweed sweater, that's what I want. Or a pair of red capris. Who the heck cares what Paris thinks I should wear this season--I probably wore those the season the before last anyway, or it never will look good on me anyway and I have enough sense to know it. Don't forget to check out the upstairs. You might find that serving dish or a set of flatware you've been looking for, or the men's and children's stuff. There's also "never been used" luggage, handbags and shoes. P.S. Leave the kids at home. This place is for seriously experienced shoppers. read more

I love me some Ross - but this location leaves something to be desired. Maybe it's the right-off-colorado-blvd-busy-as-a-mofo placement, but the selection for the most part is limited and lacking. Not sure if this is due to being picked-over or just that they get the crap end of the stick when it comes to stocking. Speaking of location, getting into/out of the parking area for this whole place is sometimes an absolute nightmare. I also don't like the two levels - it could be great, but the layout of the store needs a re-vamp in my opinion. There's also no elevator or escalator - which, while I am not personally affected, seems like it could hinder elderly or handicapped customers from shopping there - especially men, since all their attire is located on the second level. Just a thought. Regardless, the staff have always been friendly and helpful, the store is clean and never too packed. read more

I came here for day one of Christmas shopping last night... I enjoy Ross because I can find anything I need. BUT this store is a freaking mess!!! NOTHING is all that organized. I remember the purses being organized by color... This was not the case. I found one for my sister so OK whatever. I went upstairs to find toys for my little nieces and I did not expect what I saw... the isles were a safety hazard! The floor was covered in toys and kids(not for sale) ....the shelves were slightly barren. HMMM.... I think that it would take about 4 minutes of someones time to pick these things up and make the isle a little less of a toy explosion... or maybe when you take your kids to Ross ....I dunno ... don't leave them in the toy isle on the ground with the toys... Just a thought. Over by the pet stuff was worse... they might as well just put some caution tape up on the ends of the isles because you could not walk in it anyway! This place is a trip... I know its the holidays ...your store is a disaster. I get a headache when I go here... Its cheap and that's why I go back... This store is like a lottery, giving away misc. items for almost nothing. Well next to nothing around (50-75% off). Be sure to inspect the item. If there is any anything slightly wrong then they drop another large percentage off of the price . Also it is really just like a lottery, It's very hard to predict when the shipments come in. Now the shoe section is a wreck. Size 6 shoes in with the size 16's and so on. So you pretty much have to glance at every pair of shoes. Also some times two or three trips within a few months turn up the real deals. Designer and brand name belts for around 10 or 12 bucks. All this and maybe you find the coolest shoes for 20 to 30 dollars. Happy bargain hunting guys !! read more

I have always loved shopping at Ross. I find good value and styles that I like. I use them when I need something nicer than what I dependably find at thrift stores. I can count on them for nearly always having something that will work for what I need. Knowing this, when my nearly-a-step-daughter Sammi needed to find actual formal dress for her theater juries at Denver School of the Arts, I knew where to go. Once I got there, I realized I was in a little over my head, and it must have shown because I was approached by a staffer Tracy. I explained what we needed, and how it needed to look. She is a mother, and knew exactly how to help. She took time away from her work to help me find a half dozen potentials, that were then thinned out to one AWESOME dress! It was PERFECT! I could have easily been there for hours looking over the racks, and getting frustrated, finally leaving empty-handed, but instead, i left with a super value on a dress that garnered Sammi compliments from her friends AND her instructor. This store is a mess, but IT IS A ROSS STORE! You don't shop here to find the latest trends or for the outstanding service. Value is why you shop here. You don't go to McDonald's expecting a great hamburger, do you? It's one step above a thrift store, so my expectations are low to begin with. I have filled most of my closet and most of my apartment with bargains I find, hidden in the "mess". Ban cell phones on the floor with your employees, and you'll have a fairly functional store. I would give it 1 star due to its customer service, but I am giving it 2 because the security guards at the front always greet you and are more helpful than the actual employees. I frequent here quite a bit because my mother loves Ross, and the employees here don't really give you much of a "hello" or "how are you doing" or "can I help you find something"! Even at check-out, my mother recently turned 55 (so now she's officially qualified for the senior discounts). Virginia at the front end did not acknowledge us at all, just started scanning our items, all the way talking to someone on her Bluetooth. Normally, I don't care because I'd prefer people not to bother me with small talk, but then I heard her talking about a weed expert? I know marijuana is legal in Colorado, but it's still kind of a taboo to talk about it so openly around children/families. And then when we asked for the senior discount for my mother, she asked for my mother's ID (which understandably she looks young, as do the rest of our family). My mother was unable to provide her ID because she doesn't drive when my sister and I are around, and Ms. Virginia muttered, "That's what I thought". Excuse me? Totally disrespectful! The selection and the clientele are what I hate about this place. It's definitely cleaner than some Ross stores, but the other customers tend to ruin the "bargain-hunting" experience for me. Slamming me with their baskets, letting their children run amok, and being really gross in the fitting rooms (I won't go into detail). I rarely see associates working the floor (i.e. cleaning, picking up garments) and I've never been asked if I needed help. At least the cashiers are usually friendly, making the end result of my one or two item purchase a little better. The prices are great, but their plus-size selection leaves a lot to be desired. I usually go in looking for jeans or something suitable for work, and I come out with about 3 dresses. read more

In terms of clothing selection, not the place to go. The home selection however is amazing and has great prices. I have found many great deals on home goods. The staff lack attention to their work and the cashiers take forever to ring you up. The store is a jumble of everything and disorganized.
