I just moved a piece of fine furniture into my kitchen…read more When was the last time you ordered a piece of furniture and got something * MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL* than what you were expecting? That was my experience with ordering a pantry from Modern Bungalow. It took a few months to arrive, because Amish master craftsmen took the time to build an absolutely stunning piece of furniture, from carefully chosen pieces of gorgeous maple wood. If the pantry were small enough to fit on a dresser, I'd call it a jewelry box; it's that beautiful. The pantry is amply-sized. Using traditional hand-tooled and mortise-and-tenon joinery techniques, the pantry is meticulously constructed. The substantially deep shelves, which I have already loaded with giant heavy canned goods (like San Marzano tomatoes, for making my famous pasta sauce), and bottles of imported vinegars and California's finest olive oils, not to mention a cartload of baking supplies, provide ample storage for any manner of pantry goods, and the hardware used for the pantry doors is substantial enough to keep them from ever sagging. Thank you, Modern Bungalow, for helping me to obtain an heirloom-quality pantry that my kids will likely fight over some day, right after my funeral.

Solid Beauty, Stylish Comfort…read more I've never had a crush on a piece of furniture. That was before Modern Bungalow. The sight of my headboard now makes me sigh happily like a school girl. It all started when I couldn't find the right bedframe. The decor style of our home has been inspired by The designs of Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles Rene Macintosh; hardwood, understated, tasteful. But I could not find anything that suited me. Thanks to Modern Bungalow, our Cal King wooden headboard was custom created, delivered, and assembled - it will last a lifetime. I am in love with the warm rich honeyed hues of the wood and elegant design details. The solid construction provides a foundation for nights of restful sleep.

The staff, mainly Lynn, ended up attempting to revive my plant and kept care for about 2 weeks. I returned and she ended up giving me a new one. She taught me so much about plant food, sun exposure; I learned so much about plant care ever since. The Rosehouse has been featured on numerous websites, articles and they even have their very own Podcast: Up The Plants! We went to Joybird (Cherry Creek location) to try out sofas in person and got lucky enough to have Cae Blackwell as our designer. She had a very approachable and relaxed demeanor. She was extremely knowledgeable about functional design (such as what sofas we should consider as an under 5'5" family) and talked us through various color and fabric choices until we found one we love. She was communicative and prompt throughout the whole ordering process, which helped put us at ease when making such a large purchase. We feel we got a good value for the sofa we chose, and we'll get our sofa in the next couple of weeks - we can hardly wait! Joybird, you're lucky to have Cae working with you, because our impression of the company started with her, and our confidence in purchasing a Joybird sofa is because of her. 5 stars for Cae! read more

Amazing service once again! We ordered a Sebastian single arm chaise for our living room and a Holt modular sectional for our basement tv area through Cae at the Denver showroom recently. It was a great process (again) sitting on several pieces and seeing them in person. This is such an essential part of having the physical showroom space to try out various pieces. Cae was so helpful going through the fabric selections and using her professional eye to help us decide on fabric colors for both pieces. Cae also helped add in some great throw pillows for the sectional and gave helpful insights on making it cozy. The Denver Showroom is an essential part of helping me make sure the pieces I am selecting are going to feel comfortable and look great when I am choosing for my clients or for myself. read more

Less-than-ideal experience with Joybird. I found their 50% restocking fees to be extremely high. This felt an overly excessive and left me questioning their business practices. Especially since their restocking policy is not prominently displayed on their site, yet prominently display a "90-day return" policy. Additionally, my experience with customer service, particularly with Breeana, was not satisfactory. While I understand that restocking fees are common, I've found other retailers like Article, Poly & Bark, and All Modern to have more reasonable fees in the $49-$200 range. If you're considering making a purchase, it might be worth exploring these alternatives. read more

TL;DR The couch looked great in the showroom and the…read morebuying/delivery experience was excellent, but the quality of the actual sofa has been disappointing from the start. Within weeks we experienced misshapen back pillows, lumps/indentations, stiffness, and significant pilling. Customer service initially responded, but communication eventually stopped despite multiple follow-ups. For such a large purchase, we expected better product quality and stronger warranty support. Detailed Review: We purchased a new sofa from this company after being impressed by the showroom model and the many positive reviews online. Initially, the experience was excellent -- customer service was friendly, delivery went smoothly, and we were excited about the purchase. Unfortunately, almost immediately after delivery we noticed issues with several of the back pillows, including lumps, indentations, stiffness, and uneven shaping. We tried to give the sofa time to break in before raising concerns. About three weeks after delivery, I contacted Matt regarding the issues after receiving a request to leave a review. He told us this was normal for a new sofa and gave us instructions on how to fluff the pillows by removing the covers and redistributing the fill. We followed those instructions carefully but saw no meaningful improvement. Around six weeks after delivery, we also noticed significant pilling on several cushions in addition to the continuing pillow deformities. I submitted a warranty claim under their advertised 3-year warranty and did not hear back for over a week. After reaching out directly to the owner, he initially responded and explained that some pilling was expected, recommending a fabric pill remover from Amazon. While the pill remover helped temporarily, this level of wear so early on raised concerns about durability for a primary family sofa. The owner offered replacement pillows and covers but also stated he did not think they would solve the issue because the deformities were "part of having a cloud sofa." He later offered to replace the sofa if we paid another 50% of the purchase price plus taxes, delivery, and removal fees, which was not realistic for us on a nearly new couch. I explained that we genuinely wanted to find a solution and love the sofa, and despite being told it might not help, I asked to move forward with replacing the deformed pillows. From May 8-15, I sent three follow-up messages and received no response by text, email, or phone. If the company follows through with the solution they offered, I will gladly update this review. At this point, though, this has been a disappointing experience for such a significant purchase. We expected better durability, communication, and warranty support from a company with such strong reviews.

They were friendly, communicative, and clearly passionate about what they do. The couch itself is beautiful and exactly the style I was looking for. After delivery, I did run into several issues that led me to update my review to 2 stars. I had trouble getting a response regarding a matching ottoman I was told would be available, and I also experienced issues with the sectional pieces not locking properly. When I later rearranged the couch, I discovered a broken wood support and detached hardware underneath--which was especially disappointing given the couch was only about a month old and I had paid for white glove delivery. At this time I was not communicating directly with Matt or Jake which was where things went wrong. However, once Jake and Matt became directly involved, everything completely turned around. They responded quickly, took accountability, and immediately offered to replace the damaged section. They also worked with me on a showroom ottoman at a discount. After speaking with Matt, it's clear they are very focused on quality and have a continuous improvement mindset. As someone who works in quality within manufacturing, I really respect a business that stands behind their product and makes things right. To me, that matters more than a perfect first experience. Because of how they handled everything, I'm updating my review back to 5 stars. I'd recommend working directly with Jake and Matt. They genuinely care and will make sure you end up with something you love.

The staff at Room and Board listened to us and helped locate items we wanted to get to replace furniture that got destroyed in a move across the country. Was it hard to get someone to work with us, sometimes, yes, but that's happening everywhere and our expectations have changed with the times. It's unrealistic when you see employees running around with multiple customers to expect what we used to have in retail. There was one hiccup in multiple deliveries. Great, because we are now looking for more furniture and we aren't going any place but room and board. I would love to mention the designer but won't, she was a waste of money.
