I didn't end up buying anything on this trip but I was in a (pleasant) visual overload here. They have very cute curated sections with themes - not all of them appealed (no thanks on sports, Taylor Swift, or mah jongg) but still a super cute layout with lots of interesting, small, different items. This store is great for gifts especially if you know someone who is really into a current 'thing' (like mah jongg, or they had a rack of diet coke merch which isn't for me, but super cute). We even went into the kids' section and were admiring the onesies and squishy toys. I'd say we spent over 30 minutes wandering here even though the store isn't huge. There are just so many different interesting items - like a condensed and specific part of Home Goods? I'm now curious if the Wish in Happy Canyon is exactly the same or has a slightly different assortment.

I want to start with the fact that this is my first "bad" review ever. I never leave reviews…read morebecause I don't think putting negative reviews out there is benefiting anyone. However, I thought I should say this. To start, this gift shop is absolutely adorable and has so many options. However, both times I have gone, the older woman that works there stands right behind me and watches me shop. The first time, I let it go because I understand I have tattoos up my arm and in this neighborhood that might not be common. But this time, I came with my husband who has gauges, and she stood right behind us and stared at us as we shopped again and it really made me uncomfortable. There were multiple people in the store and it felt as if she assumed we were stealing. Did not feel like she tried to hide it at all. The first time I was there I spent like 120 dollars and this time about 90. It really sucks because I like this shop but I don't appreciate being followed around.

Inside, the offerings range from the more conventional like pottery, hand-drawn cards and candles. To the more unique like hand-drawn figures overlaid with real flowers and butterfly wings. In the very back, they have an extended area of art along with a limited but healthy selection of plants - today, I spotted a rare albo type. And of course, lots of Colorado-themed pieces, our favourite! The owner, Lauren, was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the artists she supports in her store, with fun anecdotes about the artists themselves or how pieces were developed. My favourites were block prints by an artist named Jini Kimchi and sculptures made from home-grown cordyceps spores (I forget the artist's name but will add here later). It's awesome that this store makes art so accessible, and what a great go-to for gifts!

So , if you're like me and on the fence about an item - make a point to jot down the info /take a snapshot - then go ahead and find them on social media. I did just that- so I would be able to shop their websites for the upcoming holidays. Obviously, I would choose to purchase here but since I was in town visiting it's a good back up plan. I ended up picking up a few items for friends and me! Great shopping environment, super lowkey and associates that check on you but let you browse in peace. Loved it! Everything! This store literally has everything you need in the Denver souvenir department…read more Yep, I love souvenirs. I'm a cheesy lame-o. Sue me. Denver Souvenirs is like two amazingly bad souvenir stores in one. On the left: plain old Denver items and on the right, tons of country western wear. Tons of cheap t-shirts, magnets, pens, "dream boxes" (whatever the hell that is), etc. The long sleeved shirt selection wasn't that amazing, but I got a good one for $14. It made me happy. The store is located near the beginning of the 16th St. Mall so you can do a ton of your shopping at the beginning or end of your day. Since the stuff is cheap, it beats out the other specialty souvenir shops in the area which is always a plus for me. I'm a cheap ass.
