They had a wide selection of dresses, skirts, jeans, tops and I even found a lot of Lululemon jackets and leggings that were new with tags! the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about all of their inventory which is super impressive because one of them said they get up to 200 new arrivals everyday! My new favorite consignment store in Denver! Common Threads is a boutique consignment store, which means that they're highly selective about what they'll take on and most of the items they carry will be designer-label and of high craftsmanship with little wear and tear. While they might occasionally carry some vintage pieces, most of their stuff is more up-to-date and contemporary. I didn't see a section for men's clothing, but for women, they have everything from bags, shoes, accessories, high fashion cocktail and party dresses, to more casual or business-casual type of clothing. I appreciated the curation--it's a blend of tasteful, classy, and a little offbeat. They have dressing rooms where you can try things on. Brands-wise, you'll see everything from Marchesa, Prada, Manolo Blahnik, to Anthropologie. I was able to get a Anthropologie jacket that was in very good condition, like-new, that would have cost $188+ at retail price for $75. Unlike other consignment stores I've been to, they have a sliding scale for pricing, so pay attention to the tags! The pricing starts at the highest price and goes down over time depending on how long the item has been in the store. If I had bought the Anthropologie jacket 6 days later, it would've cost me $63.75, and 12 days after that, it would've cost $56.25. I loved the jacket so much, though, and had several other patrons eyeing it, so I knew it wouldn't still be around if I didn't get it at the highest price that day. New pieces come in every day. I can see myself coming back here again and again. The shop is located on South Pearl, a cute area great for walking around for browsing and for farmers market in the warmer seasons. There is only street parking, but generally parking isn't too hard to find either on Pearl St or the nearby side streets. read more

Hands-down, my favorite consignment store in Denver. They have new items coming in daily and rotate seasonally. Selection is always extensive with lots to choose from in all sizes. They carry great designer brands and definitely hit the upscale market. I have consigned there as well and once you establish your account, you can come in and drop your items off without a scheduled appointment. I find this very convenient. I'm actually sitting in my car writing this review right after coming out of the store, which I never do. I do a lot of shopping and visit dozens of stores while I'm in Colorado, and I have never felt so invisible as I did in this store. I was browsing for at least 15 minutes and not a single person acknowledged me except for one woman who ask if I was doing OK towards the end of my visit. That's when I was already 15 minutes in roaming around. Now typically, I wouldn't care so much if it wasn't for the fact that every other customer that came in was greeted immediately, shown around etc. That's the basic customer service that every person should receive, in my opinion. The more customers that came in for them to be greeted the more uneasy I was starting to feel. The store employees also walked past me numerous times and didn't even look my way... It's a shame because they really did have a nice selection of shoes that were my size. However, I've never experienced actually feeling so invisible like I did. Yikes! I went in today b/c I swear I had an appointment. I had it written this appointment down in all my calendars. I had 3 loads of consignment, was on time, only to be told I didn't have an appointment??? I was pretty upset to find this out. I am a rule follower so I wouldn't just show up without an appointment. After a lot of back and forth (standing with 3 loads of clothing and shoes) I had to book another appointment. They weren't busy and frankly instead of going back and forth on why my appointment wasn't showing we could have completed my consignment drop off. It takes FOREVER to get appointments here in the first place (because it is so good) which is why I was so frustrated. Now I have to wait another 6 weeks to get in. I do love this place and will continue to consign here but this was a very frustrating experience. read more

I came across Common Threads when looking for a new place to find good deals on clothing from nicer brands and I'm pretty happy with my experience at the store. Every trip to this store yields a variety of different things and that's why I love shopping here. I have also sold clothes here and they keep clothes on the rack for 6 weeks and if they sell, you get 50% of the price the item was sold for. They are very specific about the clothing they take since they want to make sure it sells, so I've had to be very intentional about the clothes I bring to sell. However, as a shopper, this gives me a very good idea of what I'm walking into whenever I shop here. I go specifically to purchase shoes, tops, jeans and athletic wear and I'm almost never disappointed. read more

I walked in just because I was walking by. I like to walk into stores I've never been just to see what they're all about and it was within seconds I was drawn to something that caught my eye. Store is well organized, super trendy and it's all secondhand! I went in on their first Friday. Little did I know they served wine and cheese from 6-8pm on first Fridays and they have denim fittings. I didn't know denim sizing had technicalities but it turns out I was not wearing the right fit. I ended up walking out of the store with 3 pairs of jeans, all a different cut, and all hugging me PERFECTLY. I have been fluctuating with my weight for the past 6 months and I'm glad that I got a pair of high end jeans at a secondhand price. I ended up purchasing a pair of hunter rain boots, two outdoor coats by Columbia and north face, as well as a cute wrap dress! I call it "secondhand" and not "thrift" because everything is designer or could otherwise be found at Nordstrom's or nods from rack. But hey, everything is well curated and the quality of every piece I looked at was amazing. They even have size 6 shoes if you have small feet like me!! I have been hearing people talk about how wonderful this new little gem of a store is, so I finally made it in there today!! It was super cute inside. It had a boutique sort of feel but cheaper pricing. As with any consignment store it is either a hit or a miss. I have many friends who have found stuff here including $17 true religions, designer handbags, etc. Unfortunately I didn't find anything to day, and with the size of the store it took me about 20 minutes to look through everything... but maybe better luck next time! I also found it to be a BIT pricey for the quality of clothing but that could be personal preference. I am a complete bargain shopper so maybe that is the cheap side of me that thinks that. I have sold many items here, and they are very consistent in what they accept. As a seller, it's great that they only take high quality items because it means they sell at a higher price point = more money in your pocket! They offer a 50/50 split for cash which is the best offer I've seen. I have found incredible deals: paid $40 for pristine pants that retail for $400 and impeccable Chelsea boots for a fraction of their $600 retail value. They also have a great selection of lululemon. Customer service is top notch, too. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the shop has a calm and welcoming vibe. read more

I sold some clothes here a while back and the process is pretty smooth and easy. I understand being picky about the clothes they choose! I do believe it's important to have high standards. The only issue I had which for me personally matters and it's that the employees weren't the most polite bunch. No one cracked a smile at me while assessing my clothes or while speaking to me. I really don't plan on going back here to sell my clothes just because I didn't feel positive energy or like they really care if I continue to come back or not. Wow. I used to love this store and used to come here quite a bit to shop. I've been absent for a couple years and recently I've been here in the past month and both times I was not greeted when I entered nor was I even asked if I needed any help. There was an employee at the register and at least two employees walking around. Now, I understand if the store was busy, but it's a Wednesday late afternoon and there are more employees than customers inside. I gave it some time and walked around and it just bothered me so much that I left. Not sure what kind of environment this store is trying to promote? I have heard people talk about this place, so I finally decided to go. I didn't do any research or anything , just going off of word-of-mouth. My first impression was: -it's organized by color, not size, so it was really difficult to find anything in my size. I got tried if rummaging through XXS sized clothing trying to find the Larges. (I read in another review that, this is of course due to the nature of the consignment products and process, and the color coordination does look really nice). - I am a size 10/12 and found hardly anything my size, if you're under a size 10, I think you will fare much better than I did. This, of course, is not entirely in Common Threads control. -nice selection of shoes and handbags, and really nice dressing rooms. -the customers that I was in there with were entitled and not the nicest, one lady hit me with her bag in multiple occasions while going through jeans and I was at the rack behind her, and again when I was looking and workout apparel and she walked right through and almost literally plowed me over. I was clearly bothering her and inability to have the whole section to herself. Another woman was wandering around barefoot. Just not the kind of people any one particularly enjoys being around. Overall, I think the concept is great, I'm an avid thrifter, but the size variety was lacking and not something I was too thrilled about as well as the customer population at my particular time was not a good experience either. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea, I do think that if you're a smaller lady you'll have better luck. The deals were great! read more

Common threads is the best consignment shop I've found in Denver. They are very friendly and have all kinds of things that I want, but won't always buy like a Goyard carryall. Fortunately, they have a lot of other things that I are far more affordable but still things I'd want like countless Phillip Lim, Vince, and Marni clothes that I want and will buy. Plus, they are excellent to consign with. If you know what they carry, it is easy to assemble a bag or two of clothes they might take and in my experience they take most of them. This is great because when your items are sold you get a credit that you can cash out or use to buy some of their items. This store makes me reluctant to shop for full price stuff since I know I can get clothes from common threads that I'd pay way more for elsewhere. I'll still shop at some full price stores and some of the outlets, but I'm much more restrained now. read more

We started to walk around then we noticed the girls in the back area. She just looked at me didn't say hi or welcome us. I said hi first then the blonde had an attitude with me. A-OK. As a consigner, I was able to get an appointment for my first drop off. The person helping me was super friendly and nice and it was really fast- maybe 10 minutes. I had a chance to look around and I will definitely back to shop! There were some super cool pieces ranging from J Crew to LANVIN Paris, Neiman Marcus Cashmere, etc. It is a 50/50 split and you also have the option to donate your unsold (or rejected) items to charity! I will definitely be bringing all my gently worn items here in the future. When I went back to check out and get my receipt, there was grumpy cat-lady chiming in unnecessarily in a super grumpy fashion that made me want to never come back. Very emotionally charged about what they wanted to see in the future, acting like the place would burn down or something if I brought one of my daughter's old prom dresses in here for one second. What a sour puss. Really tainted the transaction. Otherwise I would have gone with 4-5 stars. So as others have noted, AVOID THE GRUMPY CAT and you should be fine. I used to sell clothes with them and it was great. Fair pricing and quick turn around. The last year or so has been hectic and I totally forgot to pick up the money from my last swap. It was a significant amount of money. When I called the girl who answered noted I was "inactive" so they "cleared out" my account. AKA they took my money. She clarified that the stipulation was in the contract, which I definitely don't remember. But even if it was, that seems like a shady deal and that it probably shouldn't be legal (is it legal I wonder?) Beware! Sketchy business! read more

This is my favorite consignment shop. I have seen some pretty big names there, as well as middle of the road retailers like Zara. I haven't bought anything there yet, but I have been tempted by bags, sweaters, and dresses. As far as consigning goes, Common Threads is so well organized that it makes the process enjoyable. The 50/50 cut is more than fair, and is better than other stores I've been to. The online account management is really helpful- you don't have to call every week to see if any item has sold. Since it gets so much traffic, I'd rather take my things to Common Threads. One downside is they are super picky based on the season and their current inventory- I took an almost-brand-new pair of Coach shoes and they wouldn't accept them. read more

This was my 2nd or 3rd consignment drop-off, and though I came with a bag filled to the top with Anthropologie, Leigh Bontaviglio, Joe's Jeans, and David J Pliner shoes, just 2 of my items were accepted. I was so shocked, I just stared blankly, waiting for her to say "Kidding!" Several items still had tags attached, and several were worn only once. To look around the shop, I could see that they accepted some fairly common items. To be told there 'just wasn't enough room" for my things warrants an email blast with the warning: "We are too full to accept your pricey, untouched items." It would have saved me the trip. I'll consign elsewhere, as 2 items isn't worth the drive. read more

I have used this store a few times in the past to recycle my better clothes and accessories and make a few bucks. It's worked out well and the store folks have been professional and friendly. However, the most recent visit to the store was far different: the staff was chilly and impatient, and accepted three or four items out of a large IKEA bag of unused high end items. I had an appointment to have the items looked over, but I watched the person sorting my stuff and she disregarded everything without a glance. Then she told me to haul it all to a nearby ARC store. I'd been told on the phone that items they didn't want to sell would go to specific charities (my impression was at risk women going back to work, etc.) I felt really duped, and just fled the store feeling that I'd been treated poorly and promising that I'd never return. The brand new red designer cowboy boots I forgot to add to the mix; I'd rather drop them at Goodwill! read more

Nice consignment store for designer stuff. Yes, designers only. But it doesn't mean it's always expensive. I've seen some nice Furla bags, DVF dresses for very reasonable prices, probably at least 50% original prices. And yet there are still things that I probably would never buy despite it's marked down significantly (i.e. Celine sweater for $200 from $1000). I appreciate the fact that 99% of the items they sell are in very good condition. Usually no defect, just a little sign of wear. If I save enough money, I may go back there in the future. In the mean time, I will stick with the good old Goodwill. :D read more
