I took time out of my day, middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday, drove down and walked in with a large bin full of stuff. there was not a single person in the store other than the woman who worked there who very rudely told me to kick rocks basically. she didn't even want to look at what I had because she "didn't feel like buying anything today". i understand it's probably her store and she can do what she wants with it but jeesh.... it seemed like an obvious reason why she didn't have any customers on a beautiful sunny day. took my stuff up the street to another store and sold my stuff to someone who felt like working. read more

This was a really solid vintage store. It's organized clearly, which made shopping easy and pleasant. The 60s and 70s furniture and collectibles on display are a nice touch, and the music was pretty good on the afternoon I was shopping. Pricing was on par with what I'm used to here in the Bay Area, maybe even a little cheaper depending on the item. Some items weren't priced as high as I thought they would be given what vintage shops in the Bay Area would've priced them at, but others were what I was expecting to see. So a mixed bag with some good sticker shock at times. I didn't have much room in my luggage for treasures so I had to be picky with what I brought home, but I found a really cute, soft leather tooled purse and an 80s denim jacket that looked like it stepped out of time, it was in such good condition. The woman behind the counter was friendly and nice while she was ringing me up. I thought the selection of denim was a little wanting, at least for women. There just wasn't a lot to choose from. Same with the skirts. But there were tons of items to choose from in blouses, jackets, sweaters, and dresses. As the decor suggests, this shop seems to focus especially on 60s and 70s vintage, so if that's your thing you should definitely check out this spot. I'm more into 90s vintage and some 80s so there was less for me here, but I can't deny that the selection was pretty solid in almost every section and even I found some cute things I couldn't pass up. I thought I'd be able to find something amazing at GV but unfortunately nothing fit me-- and that was me dropping 2 sizes recently. Mind you I was totally shocked at these threads not fitting. Thank goodness I'm not hung up on this kind of stuff-- sheesh. The sizes in this store are like kid sizes-- no joke. I used to be a size 4 and recently dropped to a size 0 in skirts and size 2 in jeans and I thought these jeans would fit-- not even close. I couldn't get one passed my knees and the other one past my thighs. I'm assuming that the sizes on the tags 4 and 6 aren't marked for todays type of bodies. I'd say pretty much everything vintage from the 50s, 60s and 70s definitely ran 3 to 4 sizes smaller. Not sure why but maybe that's normal when buying vintage-- so just keep that in mind when choosing your sizes. Other than the size issue, GV looked like it had some treasures which I'm sure some vintage thrift hunter will find out of this world amazing! Finally checked this place out after years of driving by. Really impressed and immediately in love. The pricing varies but I'd say it's in the semi-affordable range. Welcome to Denver, Goldmine! I was a fan of their Boulder location and am selfishly happy they've moved closer to my neck of the woods. Unlike a lot of thrift stores, this one is super well organized and doesn't feel cluttery at all. You'll pay more here than you will somewhere like Goodwill, mostly because of the curated collection of high quality vintage. Their shop gals always greet me with a smile and are there to help you out if you need it. Goldmine is packed full of great vintage tees, dresses, menswear (I love the selection of old school crew neck sweatshirts), and coats. They even have a solid selection of jewelry, purses, and vinyl records if accessories/music gets you goin' more than clothes. This would also be a good place to go if you're going to something themed and need some cool costume-y attire. This shop is right where North and South Broadway meet, i.e. right in the thick of things for that part of town. Look for parking in the neighborhood if you want to avoid the metered parking on Broadway. So I live in California so the pricing is actually pretty good/fair. Jackets were the same price as Goodwill. I bought a few cute items. I'm not to familiar with Denver, otherwise, I may have gone somewhere else. Like another reviewer have said, I was not greeted at the door. Very unfortunate. I wasn't asked if I needed any help. I had a very large shopping bag from a previous store that I went shopping at. So it was clear that I had some dough to spend. As I was struggling to carry my bag around, I finally asked to put my bag behind the counter. The guy said sure. Great! Would have been cool if he checked up on me to see if I needed help or suggested the the idea since I had racked up a pile of 5 items already. I got to the dressing room and the lady behind the dressing room counter was on her phone and hardly drew her head from whatever she was doing. I got a room. Then decided to exit the room wearing one of the pieces I was trying on to get a better look in the large mirror. I ACCIDENTALLY forgot to put my mask on and the lady quickly reminded me in almost a scolding voice to put it back on. Didn't even say something positive to me about what I had on and went back to her phone. I kind of felt like they didn't want my business or even cared if I was there or not. I went up to the register didn't get greeted again, and paid for my 2 shirts. I was buying vintage and had hopped that my shirts would at least been folded since they were like 40 years old with beads. Instead they were scrunched up. There were 2 other employees at the front who didn't even look at me, acknowledge my presence, or thank me for my business. What a shame. Then the guy forgot about my shopping bag I had left behind the counter and I was so frustrated at this point that I just reached behind the counter, grabbed it and walked out. Besides my frustration, I still said thank you. If you want customer service, you will not find it here. So sad to say. read more

This place has a pretty awesome selection of many decades worth of stuff! Dresses, pants, skirts, tops, you name it! They've even got shoes and accessories too. In the front of the store, they have more modern stuff and I think mass-produced items with a vintage flair (kind of in the same spirit as Modcloth but way less selection.) But their vintage selection is just awesome. I am so glad I decided to journey to this store during my brief stay in Boulder. All of the sales girls were SO helpful (and adorable!) I've never before had a sales person suggest vintage items for me before at such a shop based on what I initially grabbed to go into the fitting room with. That was a super nice touch. Also the prices are pretty reasonable...e.g. ranging from $15 - $45 for dresses and skirts. I bought one red dress (pictured above) and a skirt which I still need to take a photo of. They had ample changing rooms too which is something many vintage shops in St. Louis seem to lack. My only beef with them is that they don't put any kind of bust or waist sizes on the dresses so it's pretty much a gamble when you take something back. My suggestion for them? When they're pricing fresh inventory, take a tape measure and take some flat measurements for bust & waist. Then double that and write it down on the tag with the price. That way customers will have an easier time shopping and maybe save some heartbreak when a super cute garment doesn't fit. ;) Just sayin'....and maybe arrange them on the rack increasing in size or even by decade if possible, though that might be slightly more difficult if the era isn't known. Love this place... Even if it's crowded as a &%$%@$ on the weekend... But be warned...DIG for the good stuff. Don't fall for the vintage looking tshirt for 40 bucks. There are plenty of great skirts, dresses and etc that are CHEAPER. From TOTALLY new to really used clothing this place has it all. Wigs, shirts, skirts, dresses, jackets, boots, bags, vintage Gremlin playing cards, lunch boxes, new kids on the block necklaces, ETC. This was my first time here and definitely not my last! I really liked the selection of vintage dresses that they had. I found the prices to be pretty fair on most items. Most of the dresses I've seen here are in pretty good condition as well. I also liked that they had fitting rooms so I could try pieces on. I would of had a much harder time purchasing something that I wouldn't know the fit of. Also the staff is very friendly! Everyone was very polite and quick to help! This is my all time favorite thrift store in Denver. They don't call it Goldmine just because I ALWAYS find the goods when I come here. One thing I love about this store, which is a rarity in the thrift world, is that they are incredibly organized and the shop doesn't feel claustrophobic at all. They organize by item and decade. I have found great sunglasses/earrings in here for very very little money. I've bought an amazing velvet one piece that I have been wearing and loving for two years now. I actually did like this store. Key word being, "did." I drove to there Boulder store location to find that they have moved locations. No problem what so ever. There was a sign on the door stating they have moved to an address in Denver. So I drove all the way to that address in Denver.... just to find out that the store there isn't even opened yet. One would think that the sign on the door in Boulder would say that the new store ISN'T opened yet. So I wasted half of a day, and quarter tank of gas. Goldmine Vintage is the kind of place that you go if you are too lazy to hunt for a good vintage/thrift store buy. If you are willing to pay a little bit a of a premium for your vintage clothing and don't want to spend your weekend hunting through thrift stores for that one zinger you know you'll find, you can just walk into Goldmine and grab it in like 20 minutes. For all of thiss, I love Goldmine and I hate it. Goldmine Vintage in Boulder, CO was pretty much as good as it gets for a vintage store. Great quality, great selection and great service. The prices can always be lower but theirs were fair. We are Austin, Tx vintage veterans and I would put Goldmine up against most any place here, which is a real compliment given how strong the vintage scene is in Austin. I would also like to point out that their service was fantastic. There were 2-3 people working which is more than the vintage places I am used to. And they were very hands on and knowledgeable assisting with things as they were needed. But the real gold star came days later after I realized I had left behind the belt to a dress that I had purchased. In a panic I called them up and sure enough they had found it and set it aside hoping I would call. Then they mailed it to me No Charge!! I just can't say enough about nice gestures like that. The staff is very friendly. Large variety of items and sizes. Problem is pricing. Clothing is really overpriced here. For example; a women's shirt in run-down condition from the 90s is $20-$22, in Los Angeles, that same shirt at the Goodwill is no more than $8 and at a fancy melrose street vintage shop it would be priced at $12-$16. It's kind of obnoxious that Goldmine prices their shirts above $20! Their shorts are priced also in the $22-$28 range. Same cutoff Levi shorts at Goodwill are $7.99. Not sure how Goldmine gets away with it. read more
