Great used/vintage clothing store! They used to be up farther north off of the I-25 in a much bigger location which means more clothes! They were in such a bizarre area that I could totally understand why they moved to Broadway. Still lots of great clothing to comb through. Prices are not really all that bad... a few things maybe a bit pricey though. No particular item in general... you just have to see for yourself. Some great ideas to start with on clothes that they carry here are bowling shirts. Lots of those! They must cater to the crowd that liked the movie The Big Lebowski I think. Just kidding! They have some really cool things here. They also have some things that make me think, "I can't believe this is used, because I can't believe someone actually bought this to wear in the first place." A lot of their stuff is authentically vintage and it comes from every era from the 20s to the 80s. Unfortunately, I feel like most of their stuff is overpriced. Occasionally though you can find a great deal and I guess that's why I keep going back. I will say none of my sweet vintage dresses that I'm so fond of have come from here. Happened into this store by chance on my trip down Broadway. Fun Vintage store, for those of reading this is a true Vintage store. Carries dresses, leather jackets, an abundance of funny looking hats, and much more. They had a nice selection of jewelry I was browsing through. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Their racks are lined with all sorts of finds, make sure you allot enough time to browse through all their racks. I would definitely come back here if I was looking for some clothes for a themed party or something. Can be a little over priced in spots, but overall prices are good. read more

BOSS is a pretty groovy little vintage store. I mean, when you have a groovy Greg Brady wig in *every* color, it doesn't get much groovier. There are several reasons why you would and should come here: 1. It's that time of year again! UGLY SWEATERS! And they have some doozies, from suggestive Xrated to sweet and granmotherly. I hate going into a store that makes me feel like I don't belong there. That would be the case with this place. First off I have zero interest in anything this store has to offer. I was in there with a friend that was very interested in what they have to sell. First off we weren't greeted by the lady behind the counter upon entering. Nice way to make a person feel welcome. It was 6 degrees outside that day and I would expect some kind of appreciation that we braved the ridiculous cold weather to come into the place. But no. Not even a hello. Next thing I notice is that there are signs ALL OVER this place that tell you either not to take photos or to not touch things. If you don't want something touched, why do you have it out on the sales floor? And what is with the no photos signs? That policy just boggles my mind. My friend wasn't able to find anything that she wanted and was surprised by the high prices on most of the stuff in the shop. We didn't even get a goodbye on the way out. To put it politely, this place smells! Like mold/mildew, wet dogs, and moth balls. Please don't lie and say you haven't seen a bug in there! I have been twice this Halloween season to look for a costume and there's too much crap! The store is over crowded and the cleanliness concerns me. Don't get me wrong, I love vintage and am used to old clothing but this place is an exception. I decided to hold my breath and swallow my puke to give them a second chance. As I was shopping I overheard the a boisterous pink haired woman bad mouthing 'Flossie McGrews' another well known all-year costume shop, this really put me off. I found a great Hawaiian shirt for my costume but was in aw at the $48 price tag! Now hear me out, I am still walking around giving this place a chance when the legends came true! Yes folks, a ARC THRIFT STORE price tag attached another shirt I have found. I am livid! I walk up to the loud clerk who appears to be the owner and ask her about a price reduction given the $2.99 thrift store price. As she grabs it from me, she drags it through the Wendy's salad container she was eating from and says someone must have attached that themselves...likely story. I don't believe I will ever return to Boss and will be happy to happy to go 20 blocks south to Flossie Mcgrews and support them instead just seems right. over & out y'all! Happy Halloween! read more

I have tried shopping here 3 times because I have an obsession with vintage clothing. To put it simply, the customer service absolutely blows. I feel like I'm walking into Escada or something! Each time I have gone in, the employees look at me, make eye contact, and say nothing, nor do they say anything throughout my shopping experience. Snotty folks, for sure. And I'm not sure why... Their clothing is definitely not high-end, though their prices suggest otherwise. What's almost as pathetic as their service is their pricing. Their prices are outrageous! I have seen the same items in the store for the past 1.5 years... maybe that should tell the owner something? And there are piles of clothing everywhere! It just feels dirty and overwhelming. AMAZING! ORganiZED!! CLEAN, Pressed!! You are not digging and diggin through racks and sizes. There stuff looks like it came bak from the dry cleaners! No 20 minute wait to use the dressing room! Stocked to brim with radical clothing on top of more radical clothing, tis hard to believe some these items were made. In addition, it's hard to believe some of the prices. The excitement of this place certainly lies in uncovering something you'd only imagine in your wildest dreams. Need a a neon rainbow wig? Check. Need a dress that looks like your grandma going to the early bird special? Check. Or need a rad ski suit reminiscent of those retro days? Check. It's all there at Boss! Have some pretty good experiences here over the past few months.....and picked up some one of a kind items including an old school western wool grandpa sweater with horses all over and a feather furr and checkered winter cap( you have to see em to believe em)....so while it is pretty expensive for vintage, thats the price you pay now for quality gear. Its not uncommon to see everyone in the store with a pbr in their hand as well......I swear pbr is taking over the world, first I'm getting a haircut while drinking them now vintage shopping..... They serve you PBR in a can while shopping. 'nuff said :) That being said, I don't browse vintage/costume shops very often, so I don't know about pricing, but the owners have been nothing but nice to me. On two different occasions they have special ordered/expedited said orders for me. Once, they even sent the item to my mom, who lives out of state, because it was for her, which I think was over and above what they were expected to do. I have already been clear about how vintage makes me puke, gag, and cough. So this store is no different. BUT a few things set it apart. 1. It's been in business for 25 years. 2. They specialize in real vintage clothing (ew. gross!) from 'turn of the century (gag, gag, gag) to the 70's (ready for the sweat stains?). However, this is really HANDBAG and HAT central. So if you're one to accessorize, get on in here. The glorious card catalog of hats and handbags in the center of the store are labeled and organized very well (I salute you, Boss employees) and man, they've got great wares for the buying. For vintage, I'd say it was one of the best stores in Denver. Great concept, and lots of selections. The woman running the store seemed overwhelmed and more interested with stocking than with helping us, so I felt on my own, which in my own element (Banana, Ralph Lauren, Guess) thats fine, but I didn't know what the hell I was looking for, so it was a bit challenging. I can see why the vintage looks are so appealing, and if I was fantastic like Tiffany, I could find lots of ways to spend lots of money here. I dress in 1940's & 1950's vintage clothing 7 out of 7 days a week. I was born, stylistically, in the wrong era. Boss, for me, is the last place I check when I am vintage shopping. It is purely based upon price for me; that whole quality versus price dilemma. I occasionally happen upon a beautiful item that is correctly priced. A recent example? I found a pair of white gloves that had a line of rhinestones on the pinky finger for $6.00. No holes, no stains. That's a very fair price for the quality. However, this is not normally the case. A recent example? A beautiful pair of blue rayon gloves for $25.00. They were beautiful but not work $25.00! read more

This place is great! True vintage store with a huge selection. On my latest visit I got a cute 50s-ish casual dress and an apron (fantastic apron selection!!) I like how well the store is organized, by decade as well as occasion- for example, 60s hippie and 60s cocktail are in distinct areas. Sizes are indicated on the price tag, but the sizes are whatever is provided on the item's tag...as a pointer, a size 8 in 1960 is much different than a size 8 in the 2000s. The sizes don't mean much, so I found it helpful just to look through the racks and grab everything that looks cute, regardless of size, because you'll have to try it on anyways. Boss Unltd. is a bit spendy, but, in my opinion, it is money well-spent. The items I have gotten here can be found nearly nowhere else! The staff has a "too cool" vibe and the only woman working just seemed frazzled and more interested in merch than the customer. I really believe that this could be a 5-star vintage clothing store, however, customer service was noticeably lacking. read more

A tip - Great place for vintage clothing and accessories. Great assistance too. My Review: If you ever need that "something from the past," then Boss Unlimited is for you! Whatever you might need, is here. Walk in, take a look around, and be swept back in time. I had to chuckle to myself, as I saw different clothing that I possibly could have worn, in times past. These things that I had tossed, turned in to Good Will, etc., have made their way back. You have to love it! My office decided to dress up like the tv series, "Mad Men" for Halloween, so I turned to Yelp! for help. After reading several reviews, I decided to try Boss Unlimited. I'm glad I did. When we walked in, I told the woman what I needed. She immediately directed me to several areas. I pulled out several appropriate pieces, and was directed to the dressing room. I must admit, that the women back in the late 50's or early 60's, were much smaller in stature than me. I finally found one that worked perfectly. I completed my ensemble with a pearl necklace and a cute black hat. I can't wait to wear it for Halloween. I will definitely look the part of a secretary from the 60's. Interior - small, cramped, but easy to navigate, bright, clean, and just fun! Staff - excellent help, friendly Parking - on the street, so be prepared to walk a few blocks. I love vintage fashion from afar, but when I find out I have to attend a theme party that features another era, I break out in hives. I think Boss could have saved me a lot of anxiety if I had discovered it sooner. I knew about the "other" store further south that gets a lot of Halloween Business but how did I miss this? Here are the store's best features: Clean, well lit, neutral smell, well organized and friendly staff that take on your search as if it's their own. Worst feature: they don't seem to be able to magically transform tiny, thin-waisted clothes into a more "voluptuous fit". Seriously, they had a fantastic selection and I found the perfect glam jumpsuit and accessories for a Studio 54 party. I booked marked Boss Unlimited when I began planning my trip to Denver. A highlight for me whenever I travel is to hit up the thrift shops, antique malls and vintage boutiques. Boss Unlimited has such a great selection of vintage clothing steaming from the late 40's - 80's. They have a great selection of shoes and accessories here and everything is reasonably priced. I tried on a few dresses but the dress was a little too loud (print wise) which I am used to rocking but in the end I don't think I would of really worn it. My bf did however find a great shirt that he ended up wearing that night.. Love that he digs vintage makes dating him so much easier. Great mens stuff obviously! tons of jewelry as well! Three words: Ugly. Sweater. Party. Am I a cliche? Probably. But I'll tell you that I came here out of accident. If I were to follow the lead given to me by almost anyone along Broadway, I would've bypassed this place altogether. And, to me, that would have been heartbreaking, because Boss Unlimited is, well, boss. Unlimited amounts of boss. This place is, I'm sure, vintage heaven for some people. Mostly women people, I guess. They do have clothes for guys - a sort of limited selection, from what I saw - but, unfortunately enough for me, I do not possess the body type that can thrive in this environment. I'm too small. I'm not angry; just disappointed that, like the fellows occupying the store alongside me, I could not also participate in the fun of trying on the life that incorporates houndstooth pants and hawaiian shirts. Dreams I never knew I had were dashed the day I found Boss, is what I'm saying. With that said, I DID find my ugly sweater. It's a (women's) vest, and a fabulous garment that I have worn exactly zero times since its purchase, including to the party it was intended for (long story*). I'm somewhat disappointed because this place can run a bit expensive (my sweater vest cost about $18 when all was said and done); however, I am able to justify spending that because A. the lady working the front threw compliments, not pity, when I asked her opinion because "I just moved here so I have no friends", and B. she recommended some great other places to check out. She also took apart a (complexly-stylized) mannequin at a customer's request, too, without any problem. Friendliness just does it for me. The place is pretty big. If you're a guy, sometimes it is hard to tell where you should be and where you should not be.** It has bright walls. It smells like an old closet. There are a lot of things you won't need, but will regret not having seen yet. And it will probably remind you - in the best way - of your reclusive-yet-mentally-present 75-year-old grandma up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin who doesn't get out much these days because the house is "full of treasures already so what do I care? You know how many people would kill for the stuff in this house? Especially around Christmastime? Do you?!" - - - - - * Actually, it isn't: Unexpectedly found some cheap household wares at a moving sale beforehand, which turned into a huge get (I mean, hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of stuff for ~$70? Okay.), which took a lot of time, which meant I couldn't retreat back to the Hobbit Hole that is my apartment to change before the party. ** I spent a lot of time checking out the vintage fabrics because I thought it was a good neutral territory. After visiting a number of "vintage" (not all the places listed under vintage are indeed in that category) stores all in a row, Boss Unlimited came out to be the top store. The store and employees were not pretentious, the items were well organized by type and era, and the store and merchandise was clean. The employees offered their honest opinions on some of the items I tried on without being fake or hurtful. When I was all finished, they even offered to hold the items I liked until the next day (!), which I did not even think to ask since this is often unheard of in gently used clothing stores. Easy to find location, large assortment, fair priced, every style you could ask for from the 30s to current t-shirts. I buy most of my vintage attire from these guys! My father used to take us vintage shopping on broadway when we were kids and we loved exploring the clothing, wigs and hats. I moved to CA a decade ago, and it's become my ritual to return to broadway each trip to search for vintage treasures. The last several trips I've come home to CA with goodies from Boss, beautiful and unique gems. This past trip I left my lockets in the dressing room when trying on clothes and couldn't return to get them on account of an early flight. The person on the phone was super sweet and sent my precious lockets back to me, no charge. Boss has been my favorite for vintage for as long as I can remember and this kind gesture just makes the cup overflow. Go there! You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm torn here folks. While you'll find some amazing vintage items that merits more stars, the owner is forcing my hand here. I went in to have the owner look at some clothing I was selling. She seemed so inconvenienced and told me I was going to have to wait for her to go through a bag that someone had left for her to look through. As she was doing that I began browsing and couldn't help but overhear her tell the employee behind the counter that the bag she was looking through was trash. "Look at this! This should go in the garbage!" As she was looking through my items she received a phone call from someone who had also dropped off a bag. The conversation was borderline arguing. She hung up and told her employee that the woman was lying about a coat she had left. "She thinks I'm going to believe her? As if you would lie to me." All of this left a very bad taste in my mouth. If she didn't feel like the clothing was Boss Unlimited worthy that's one thing. If she needed to negotiate prices with the woman on the phone, it could have been done in a more professional manner. She really needs to act with discretion! I decided not to accept the offer she made me based on principal. I recently stopped by this store in search of some accessories for a dress I have for the 1940's Christmas Ball this. A very very nice and knowledgable girl named EMILY helped me out immensely. She actually pointed out that my dress was pretty, but wouldn't truly give off the 1940's feel. She seriously took me under her wing and not only found me a gorgeous dress, but helped me pick out every single accessory I would need to complete my look. From jewelry to gloves, a purse and back seam tights she really hooked me up with the perfect look. I loved this place. It's so much better than most similar business. The selection of vintage dresses was huge and I loved how organized and visible their selection of jewelry was. They even had hosiery,including fishnets, that were still packaged. One of my favorite parts was the great selection of vintage fabric. I can't wait to use what I purchased. I adore vintage dresses and this place has an amazing selection of really cared for, beautiful clothing. The prices are fair for the clothes that they have; there are some quite lovely 40s & 50s dresses in stock, including glamorous evening dresses!! and they have a huge selection of vintage lingerie, hats and other whims! They also carry vintage eyeglasses and jewelry, and have a good selection of men's clothes, which is unusual. My boyfriend got some really crazy wool plaid pants here, and I have a few dresses, including a deadstock Gunne Sax from the 70s. read more

I met the folk from Boss Vintage at Viva Las Vegas, and I have to say, Ron is a great guy! Very nice, very helpful. As for the people that don't understand the "don't touch or take pictures" signs, a lot of vintage places have a huge problem with people coming in to play "dress up". They take pics and then leave, usually leaving the clothes in a pile on the floor. They also squeeze into clothes that are too small, step on them, and (yuck) don't wear underwear! These clothes are irreplaceable, people. If you find a Shaheen or Lilly Ann, you treat it with the respect it deserves. If you don't care about quality vintage, then buy Stop Staring or Bettie Page. read more
